Hmmm? So when were you in Belarus? I was in Moscow in 1996. I saw the poverty and run down infrastructure. Lines of people along sidewalks trying to sell what little they had to live on. I also witnessed the Russian Police rousting people sleeping in the subways. Still the general public for the most part head their heads up through all the crap. It's not that way anymore. Except maybe in the Ukraine with a war being fed by US tax dollars.

I'll bet there's not many folks in Belarus holding signs along freeway entrances. Or camped out in front of State Capitols (Denver).
