..this could be the beginning of a string of PR's they mentioned having.. that and 4/20 coming up.. saw some new Marijuana/Hemp ads earlier w/the Millionaire theme.. so the powers that be might be turning the mood around for a sector run ?
Good points/info.. Thanks

Interesting write up on new tech, relates to big pharma/CBD.. rrrr
The waiting game can be painful at times...but there is quite a process to go through to get to the point where a product becomes 'designed in'.
Here are a few headwinds a small company with disrupting tech faces:
1. The telecom/datacom industries are notoriously risk averse
2. Those industries have a built-in not-invented-here (NIH) avoidance syndrome
2a. Even if senior management is motivated to pursue a disruptive tech, lower-tier engineering management can see the tech as a threat to job security and stymie adoption
3. The testing to meet the myriad specifications and environmental qualifications with multiple devices takes a lot of time. Testing a single representative device is typically not deemed sufficient.
4. The large companies will try very hard to monopolize the disruptive tech by insisting on exclusive agreements
5. They will laboriously analyze the IP from the small company to see if there is any way to work around the small co's patent protection
6. They will make a series of low-ball offers to gauge the level of desperation the small company has to satisfy long-term shareholders and principals
7. They will make every attempt to starve the small company of cash
8. In the event a deal is struck, then there are many delays/steps in the design process:
- Kick-off meetings
- Draft requirements
- Draft qualification documents
- Capital allocation meetings/approvals
- Initial design phase
- Preliminary Design Reviews
- Critical Design Phase
- Critical Design Reviews
- Final Design Phase
- Special Tooling Requirements and leadtime
- Production Readiness Reviews
- Low-Rate Initial Production Run (LRIP)
- LRIP Reviews/Assessments
- Full Production and Implementation
While all of this sounds daunting, there is cause to be optimistic.
1. IMHO, LWLG has compelling, truly disruptive technology
2. They appear to me to have excellent patent protection
3. ML and team have been around the block in this arena. They are not naive to how big co's will attempt to manipulate and leverage
4. The tech appears to be licensable
5. The timeline to adoption appears to be contracting as data rates increase

sad part is I have owned otc's in 2014-15.. and they had websites, great names, cheerleaders on the boards and they just milked us and went away.. even sold the name or took it to their own private company.. the whole mood changed IMO w/the company when Merida joined in.. so I really don't know what to think.. there isn't and back door funneling or blatant toxic financing.. so I just hope I made the right move in not selling in the .70's.. that and the 3 others I told to hold.. are giving me some chit.. (**& it. maybe they'll come out w/medical grade and 3rd party proven stuff and we'll excel ahead of the pack.. because those are concerns that I hear on the street.

$LWLG The award was presented by Dr. Jose Pozo, Director of Technology and Innovation at the European Photonics Industry Consortium, who said, "This year the PIC Awards program had over 80 nominations to choose from, and received over 9,000 votes. I am personally amazed by the huge potential and fast developments of Lightwave Logic.
also lets us know CEO Lebby has a lot of experience w/Costs-ROI and VC's and other types of funding, was in charge of investing in smaller companies while working at INTEL
.
I also saw a taken aback reaction when the guy asked about smaller companies getting funded..etc and that may have been the same reaction people saw at the shareholder meeting that they took as a negative.. but from what I got is that his reaction was whoa big question and so open-ended with many possible outcomes.. let me collect myself to answer this.. that's what I saw.. not an inability to answer the question like a few assumed at the SHM. 14:50

$LWLG CEO of Lightwave Logic Chairs International Conference Exploring Paths to Energy Savings While Sustaining Internet Growth
ENGLEWOOD, CO, March 20, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lightwave Logic, Inc. (OTCQB: LWLG) today announced that CEO Dr. Michael Lebby, in recognition of his global leadership position in the photonics industry, will be serving as conference co-chair of the International Photonic Integrated Circuits conference on March 26 - 27 in Brussels, Belgium. In addition, he will be participating on a discussion panel and giving an invited talk.
The theme of this year's International PIC conference is: "Creating and Strengthening Links Between Chipmakers and Network Builders". It brings together the complete ecosystem that provides the technology underlying all modern data services such as social media, IoT, deep learning and e-commerce. These global companies range from chipmakers and foundries to network equipment suppliers and webscale service providers. PICs, or photonics integrated circuits, are analogous to electronic integrated circuits and handle optical signals for applications such as high-speed networking for the internet.
Dr. Lebby noted, "Our intent in organizing this year's conference was to seek global technical solutions for today's urgent problems of speed, power, and cost and how these can be scalable for our industry. We will discuss advances on incumbent technological platforms such as Indium Phosphide and Silicon Photonics, as well as on our own proprietary plastics. It has become very clear to the industry this year that it's all hands-on deck. We need to find significant paradigm shifts if the performance of the internet is to keep improving."
The last few decades have seen remarkable increases in data services, but scientists have warned that technology is approaching some fundamental limits that are making continued progress more difficult. As networking speeds in the internet continue to increase, the electrical power required to pump out and move the signals goes up dramatically. Already, this power is limiting the size of datacenters. 5G and IoT is expected to demand far more processing and networking capacity.
Dr. Lebby's talk will be entitled "Polymer PIC opportunities in applications beyond 100G". It will start with a description of the essential role of light in modern datacenters, and the growing challenge of meeting what appears to be insatiable demand for huge amounts of data delivered immediately. The talk will explain how Lightwave Logic's plastic polymers have the potential to address the network power consumption problem, satisfying the thirst for smaller, lighter, and faster networking equipment and allowing the continued development of new services.
Lightwave Logic is developing very high-speed photonic integrated circuits made with its own high-performance plastic material. For more information about Lightwave Logic, please visit the Company's website at: www.lightwavelogic.com

Inside Intel: From silicon fabrication plant, to energy-efficient data center
We all know Intel for its chips, but perhaps we should be paying more attention to its data centers
March 13, 2019 By Sebastian Moss
Shesha Krishnapura is beaming. Of the many data center tours I have been on, Krishnapura’s is clearly the one with the most excited of guides. “Welcome to the world's best data center,” he says with a chuckle.
We’re in a huge, 690,000 square foot (64,100 sq m), five-story building right next to Intel’s global headquarters in Santa Clara, California.
“Where you are standing is an old Intel fab called D2. The last product that was made here was the first generation Atom in 2008. It was decommissioned by the end of 2008, so by 2009 it was available - just an empty space.”
Krishnapura, the CTO and senior principal engineer for Intel IT, "made a proposal to use D2 to learn how to build megascale data centers with energy efficiency, cost efficiency, and so on, in mind.”
“At the time, [then-chief administrative officer] Andy Bryant said ‘OK, you guys can have this fab to build, but first go and experiment in the old S11 building.’” There, Krishnapura’s team built a chimney cooling system, along with a traditional CRAC unit, to achieve a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.18. “It was our first experiment, and when we were successful at getting 30kW per rack with 24-inch racks, then we said ‘ok now let's go and break the barriers.’”
The result, built out over several years, is a data center with several unique elements, and an impressively low PUE. (con't)
