Yes it's real, unless it's a great April fools joke. We are reporting it on tonight's news:
SAN FRANCISCO, April 1 (Reuters) - Apple Inc. and music label EMI Group Plc plan to announce "an exciting new digital offering," EMI said on Sunday, a move that could involve putting the Beatles music catalog online.
EMI said it plans to hold a news conference on Monday at its London headquarters where EMI Chief Executive Eric Nicoli will be joined by Apple Chief Executive and co-founder Steve Jobs, the company said in an e-mail to reporters.
A live Webcast of the event, which will feature "a special live performance," will be available at:
http://www.emigroup.com beginning at 1 p.m. local time in London (8 a.m. EDT). (1200 GMT).
Currently, no Beatles songs can be downloaded via online music services. EMI has been the distributor for the Beatles since the early 1960s.
The news event follows the settlement in February of a long-running trademark dispute between Apple Inc., which recently changed its name from Apple Computer Inc., and the Beatle's company, Apple Corps Ltd. This cleared away a major hurdle for selling the Fab Four's songs on Apple Inc.' iTunes online music store.
Apple Corps is owned by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono and the estate of George Harrison.
The music company had maintained that the computer company had violated a series of agreements stretching back decades over use of the Apple trademark by entering the music business through its now market-leading iTunes online store.
The Beatles are high-profile holdouts from Internet music services such as iTunes, but it also emerged during a trial last year that Apple Corps was preparing the band's catalog to be sold online for the first time.
At the high-profile launch of the Apple iPhone in January, Steve Jobs raised hopes that the band could be about to go digital when it played one of their songs and used a Beatles' album cover to grace a giant on-stage screen behind him.
Beyond any potential deal with EMI involving the Beatles, Apple and EMI could also be working on a means for eliminating restrictions that prevent unauthorized duplication of digital music.
Earlier this year, Jobs called on the world's four major record companies, including EMI, to start selling songs online without copy protection software to thwart piracy known as digital rights management (DRM).
Jobs said there appeared to be no benefit for the record companies in continuing to sell more than 90 percent of their music without DRM on compact discs, while selling the remaining small percentage of music online encumbered with a DRM system.

When you need to get an iDentity
Chicago Tribune

Published March 30, 2007
Hard on the heels of its successful iPod line of portable players and its recently released iPhone, Apple Corp. has launched its newest product: the iDentity
At an elaborately staged press conference held at the Las Vegas Hilton, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced what he claimed would be the next must-have electronic gizmo.
The handheld iDentity looks much like Apple's iPod. But instead of playing music or videos, the iDentity provides the user with everything he or she needs to get a life.
"It was a real no-brainer," said Jobs. "Our market research revealed that most of our iPod users were in desperate need of a life. Now with the iDentity, they can get the next best thing -- a virtual life."
Customers who have relied primarily on their iPods for social status and moral direction now have the opportunity to experience a fuller, richer "life" registered trademark (All rights reserved. Property of Apple Corp.). All an iDentity user needs do is visit Apple's Web site and download personally tailored "interests," "hobbies," "philosophies," "friends," "likes," "dislikes" and all the other building blocks of a meaningful existence.
iDentity users can create a virtual personality that will make them feel like a "real person."registered trademark Users can choose from lists of options or, if they wish, choose any one of hundreds of pre-formed celebrity personalities.
And best of all, for those who forget who they have become, it's right there at the scroll of a finger on their iDentity. Plus, of course, all their favorite songs and a phone.
Unfortunately, like the iPod, the iDentity is restricted by Apple's proprietary software. "We could have made it compatible with people experiencing real life," said Jobs. "But where's the profit in that?"
No word yesterday from Mr. Jobs about rumors that his company is working on the next product in the "i" line -- the iOpoly.
"We'll keep you posted," chuckled Mr. Jobs.

I will remind you too. No more hashing over old news or bashing anyone. I begin deleting those now.
Thanks.
"You have a problem with me/my actions? And you don't have a problem with David? I suspect you lost $$ on this deal. That wasn't because of me, that was due to David's operation of MSEP. I wasn't involved."
Obviously many people have a problem with David and what happened with this company. You, being the most bitter of all, to continue bringing up the same stuff - over and over. Just a reminder, that is a violation of the TOU here, so this will be the last post I will allow, unless you have new information to share that is not just griping about how you were wronged.
Let's move forward now.
That sounds reasonable, I hope my teenage son doesn't see the offer, he'll be asking for my code to buy all the albums that he owns partially! LOL
Michael, the fact still remains that you have not handled yourself appropriately in this case. And the fact that you feel you must use this public message board to defend yourself and/or bash someone else is, in my opinion, wrong.
Dave obviously did not handle things perfectly either, but I am not going to make disparaging remarks about his character to a public forum like this, no matter how slighted I may feel. I will now focus on the possibility of a new business bringing us forward.
If you have any ideas or information regarding Mr. Yeung, IA&D or DD that is relevant to the current situation please bring it forward.
Thanks.
There is a message in the upper right that says this "complete my album" deal is a limited time offer, why not just make it a standard offer/function?
Wasn't CKXE the best example of that. Wish I had shares of that when it was .07 then went to $25.
Here's an actual picture of one of IAD's projects:

I have no problem letting people vent. I have been moderately on that line myself, but I am just not the type of person to drag up a lot of negativity. You know half glass full type of person.
In regards to MSEM I think that David knows exactly what is going on and recently acquired shares for a reason. We will see.
If something positive happens, lyntup won't have anything to complain about, or maybe he will. Some people just love to complain.
2 more days to the 10K
Those heat signature pictures tell quite a story. The guys hand is cooler than the unit.
This could be the best thing that has happened for MSEM in awhile, if that is the case.
What are regulation on registering and changing ticker?
Anyone know?
IAD is not a valid ticker symbol. So they could use that.

I have seen those trade deals. I am not wireless yet... waiting until I get the Macbook for my son, then we get Airhub then aTV.
See my posts from yesterday, for info on the company Mr. Yeung is currently the CEO of.
I'll check that out.
My previous 2200 series HP came bundled with Readiris. My 7200 series came as a replacement unit with only the HP software, no extras.
I may have to take advantage of my extra warranty and upgrade to the newest model and get the whole bundle. Then I have to get all new printer cartridges as well. More built in obsolescence...
I don't know.
My guess is that it quietly goes away.
If I am wrong then we'll find out, probably in a PR from the new CEO outlining his plans to re-market the stuff.
"MSEM has no business"
Granted MSEM currently has no plan under Keaveneny's guidance but the new CEO may be taking his GlobaLink company public, hopefully these are things we will learn in the next few days.
Anyone know of some Free/Shareware for OCR for the Mac?
Nothing in the OSX Downloads on the apple.com website.
Anyone use GlobaLink to trade?
No - The (Formerly Tex Stix) is how the SEC reports the name of Motorsports Emporium, no connection at all.
Company at that address is GlobaLink

Got my feelers out.
Sent an email to Kenneth Yeung, will inform as to what I find out.
Real nice.
I'm sure I lost much more money on MSEP/M than you did but I would never wish that someone "Rot in Hell!!!"
I am sure that an attitude like that will get you far in life - Good luck.
Back to bed now - need a nap before I head off to school and then work, GLTA today.
Box info updated, what more can I say?
On the bright side - I am glad all my eggs weren't in this basket, AAPL been very, very good to me!
Hey all. Just logged in for the first time. 8K doesn't surprise.
I think we all knew David was planning on bailing, since the company went dark.
My last communications were cryptic at best, his response to any question I posed was that all information will be revealed in subsequent filings.
As far as regaining any sort of value from this stock, it looks as though a quite few people have taken what they could get today and will most likely never be back.
I will hold the shares I have. No particular reason at this point, but if this Kenneth Yeung person turns out to be something special, you never know.
As far as Kenneth Yeung is concerned there are a couple of possibilities. I know that there is an award winning photographer named Kenneth Yeung. I also googled the name and found someone of the same name that is a game designer. I would prefer the filmmaker be the new owner, considering I am in television, that is the only reason.
I will definately do some digging into Mr. Yeung and let anyone know what I find.
