Greetings...
I went to see dyna's doctor...he told me to post less until there is more info to go on...speculating is hazardous to your health....
I do speculate that all of this speculation leads to WAS (wild ass speculation) which leads to yelling and screaming in this forum....I'm taking the low key road for the moment.
Just back from a long weekend....wow....only like 40 posts...thought there would be hundreds...
other than jesse patroon, you galileo, have bashed Torvec's products and the people more than anyone by a long shot.....I was reading some of your old posts...based on your deep seeded hatred for the people and the products...you cannot in any way shape or form possibly own shares of Torvec...it would be insane to imagine that you are long Torvec...for the record, I don't don't think you're short either...it appears you just have some kind of vedetta....
that said, I still don't think anyone has enough info to speculate one way or the other on whats happening.....
In fairness, if you're going to play that card, McNamara bought 500 shares and Fain zero...the fact is that unless you know something the rest of us don't, you really don't know what is driving all of this...I'm not even trying to speculate on what is happening...as for the people aspect of it, sometimes you don't know what kind of players you have until they are in the game...right now, there isnot enough info to go on...
So....what's new...
That wasn't exactly the Carlisle Effect I had in mind...LOL.
I'm holding my opinion until we learn more...we don't know what we don't know at the moment....
Check...
....it will all end right after you sell your TOVC position. That will be the buy signal the market has been awaiting on Torvec...right after you sell, the stock will rise about 8 points..LOL
To that point, I would bet that there is a significant number of long holders who think they should sell, but can't seem to pull the trigger..why is that...? digger and invest were alluding to it as well...why...my opinion is that it's because this is a one deal launch and given the recent speculation and activity, no one wants to miss the rocket ride should it happen...no one wants to say "gee, i held it for 4 years and as soon as I sold it, the company did a deal"...
I'm obviously a long long....I'm just curious if what I just said is actually on target for some of the disgruntled who post here....
Check...you've been in it for a "long, long, time"..that means you had a chance to sell last summer in the $9+ per share range....why didnt you?....just curious...
Thanks Yukon...
Sorry if I went over the top with the CIA operative comment, but you have to realize that this crowd is very suspicious of stuff like that..
Welcome to the board...
bileman...
you said "That was supposed to be the deal with the Chinese company. They would manufacture the FTV and we would get shares in their IPO." .......
where are you getting this stuff from...?
Then that's 3 times that we agree...
I've always felt that you needed a doctor!!...LOL..have a good day..
If someone uses 2 different computers with 2 different IP addresses and 2 different email addresses, IHub wouldnot know that they are the same person....hence, maybe it can be done...
The trick is that if someone is going to do it, they need to be sure that they remember which name they are using...whomever posted those few posts, which clearly look to be from the same person, willnot, in my opinion ever get a job as a CIA operative or an undercover agent...LOL
Secondly, someone who would be doing that has something up their sleeve....
looks like we have someone posting under 2 different names...
I agree with you...
I think EOM means End Of Message....not end of month
you guys are still on the Tor is JG thing...
I wish I had his stock....but I am not Jim Gleasman for the 1000th time......it remains funny that you think that though
dyna...
I have heard nothing ..only what is being written here...so ,as you know, i tend to be a little more suspicious than the average human(understatement?)of info thrown out here...positive or negative...
bileman.....
and how is it that you know all of this info...?
dyna....
this is your exact quote...
"Now that Chery is out of the picture and Mgmt. is in China working the big deal with the #1 in China..."
Invest...
Where did you hear this rumor..?
where is that information coming from dyna...?
It's very calm and quiet...
With all the rumors floating and the reversal manuever by a few of the posters that have been the most critical of Torvec, I am on sensory alert....
Have a nice week everyone...
Reporter....
I called this morning and spoke to Jim Gleasman....I read your post to him regarding the exclusive waiver....when he finished laughing his ass off, he told me there is no exclusive waiver, never has been an exclusive waiver and that whomever wrote that is inaccurate..
He went on to say that Vernon made a lot of money from the Torsen from 1958 up until the mid 90's and the only thing that he(Vernon) wished had happened differently, was that he wished it had been called the Gleasman Differential instead of the Torsen....
See you next Tuesday.....
Invest...
Thanks for correcting my spelling....I can't beleave I mispelled beleeve
Here is a qoute from your buddy Reporter..
"What have they got left. A few patents, a dynometer, a building, a few prototypes, a board of directors, and Torvec management." That is not the writings of someone who believes in the technology and is simply hacked off at management...your good pal has gone out of his way to phrase statements about testing to make people believe it went poorly...so to many here, it seems "not smart" for someone who doesn't believe in the technology or management to be holding shares long at 3 when he thinks the value is $.50 or a$1.00...
Your cohort is either a "not smart" investor...or, he doesnot own any stock and has an agenda...or he's cliaming to be a disgruntled shareholder and is actually "not long".....your ringing endorsement of his well thought out investment strategy might need some rethinking...
I do agree that it can be possible to beleive in a company's technology and unhappy with the way the company is run...your friend just doesn't fall into that category....
Sorry I used the word dumb......
not trying to incite a riot...perhaps "not smart" would have been a more diplomatic choice of words...
You're going to have to explain the question on exclusive licensing....don't remember that issue or topic or it being in the filings ...??
Actually ..thats not accurate...
For example..Digger has been around this and RB for years..sometimes we agree..sometimes we are really far apart, but I respect his opinion and I respect alot of what is said here in general.......I don't think Digger's a short...Dino isn't either...I don't think dyna is for that matter...
When someone writes that the stock is worth 50 cents or a buck, thinks management is incompetent, and it's now trading near 3 and he claims to still be holding shares long...now that is dumb...it's not that I think anyone with a negative slant torward Torvec is a short...I just call em like they appear...
Reporter....
The losses you are trying to recoup....you mean the ones from last year when you got squeezed....those losses...?
Reporter...
No one who feels the way you do would be holding shares of this company.....surely you have sold by now...???
Hi Leitrim...
There are still a few things I'm digesting in this update...To your point about the tone being less imminent, I don't think you will be seeing any more days not weeks, weeks not months statements...with all that has been developing behind the scenes, who knows what is brewing or imminent...
Dissecting this information, I find it hard to come to the same conclusions that Reporter has.....he spun it negative as best as he could...here's the negative news....they didn't announce a deal...
On the other hand, the company emerges with an all-hydraulic hydrostat for the smaller vehicle segment that has 500 fewer parts, costs less, is lighter, quieter, smaller, cooler, more efficient has low rpm start up abaility, delivers better mileage than the stock automatic in the EPA comparison and in what may be the more important aspect of that tesing, used 1/2 the fuel of the stock transmission during the "real world" acceleration portions...and now for those of us who actually own shares of the company, we as shareholders now own the patent pending modular transmission created by the ability to turn the hydrostat into a hydro mechanical IVT with the addition of a gear pack that will utilize the pumps and motors from the hydrostat, allowing for use in the SUV, Hummer, truck bus segment...in addition, with the developing accumulator technology, the hydrostat is equippped to add on the bags and plumbing...another plus for the modular adaptability...how does Reporter deduce that all of this will only be applicable to race cars...that was funny...
So far what's negative....oh yeah...they havn't signed a deal yet....the way the EPA tests for mileage appear to heading in a different direction, even by the EPA's own admission..that plays right into the strengths of Torvec technology...I would imagine we will see more data at some point on the hydro-mechanical in a gas version while the diesel strategy remains in place..The oil companies don't appear to be spending $20 billion in Qatar to produce hydrogen....it's for diesel....
So we have the hydro stat, the modular hydro-mechanical, adaptable for accumulators, the iso-torque, the ftv, Darpa, discussions going with OEM's...seems to me that there is more happening than any of us will ever know...
The negative...they havn't signed a deal.......Yet....
321....
you've missed it again...pretty funny analysis...
Nice find dread...
That is alot of info to digest...going to print it and go over in detail tonight.....Darpa has hardly been the behind the scenes focus...there appears to be way more going on that many would like to have believed...
No spin....
But I have a question...what US and European companies have passed on Torvec's technologies...?
Shish...Boom... Bah...!!
you doomslingers are very entertaining...
you do realize that the inane stuff you guys argue over drives what little credibility you may have had down....now that i think about it, you probably don't realize that..
keep up the good work...it's very funny stuff you're putting out
I agree dread...

Message from the CEO
May 10, 2005
Since my last update in April, there has been unprecedented activity at Torvec, with multiple opportunities presenting themselves across our major technology platforms, including the FTV™, IVT™ and Iso-Torque. We have appointed specific project managers for each of our technologies, and they report that interest in our key technologies has never been greater, extending well beyond the United States. Please recall what Read McNamara, Chairman of Torvec, said so clearly at our annual shareholders’ meeting: “Silence from management by no means should be interpreted as lack of progress toward our goal of one or more commercializing events.”
I would like to take this opportunity to share with you our recent progress.
Full Terrain Vehicle (FTV™)
Torvec continues to pursue commercialization opportunities for our FTV™. One avenue that we have been aggressively pursuing is to gain global exposure for our vehicle through the Department of Defense’s DARPA Grand Challenge. The FTV™ provides the platform for Team Autonomous Ingenuity’s entry in the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge. Team Autonomous Ingenuity is comprised of employees from Torvec, MotoTron, Inc. (a division of Brunswick Corporation) and Telanon, Inc.
The US Department of Defense performed a site visit to review our entry during the first week of May. Two judges were sent by DARPA to meet our team, inspect our vehicle, and review our progress to date through a series of live tests. Back in March, you may recall that we had successfully driven the FTV™ by remote control to meet the last DARPA required deadline. For this month’s site visit, the challenge was much greater: run the FTV™ through a course completely autonomously. The course was 200M in length and 8M wide, with left and right turns of 34 degrees and 30 degrees, respectively. The vehicle performed flawlessly, completing the course all three times with extreme repeatability. After three runs, our tread marks were a total of a few inches apart. The site we used was chosen for its real-world characteristics. While most teams were likely testing their vehicles in parking lots, we opted for an old railroad bed, with a rutted dirt and rock road, ditches filled with collected rainwater, high power lines above which interfered with our compass, and frequent railroad traffic which interfered with our GPS acquisition. Our vehicle, sensor systems and control systems were up to the task, handling this environment with ease. We continue to use this location for heavy-duty durability testing of the FTV™.
During the site visit, we were able to successfully show the judges our ability to sense obstacles, and demonstrate our algorithms for avoiding these obstacles. During the interview, we presented our plan for sensing and avoiding various types of obstacles during the race. The day included detailed presentations of the FTV™, our vehicle control systems, our sensor systems, and our sensor fusion. We also presented DARPA officials with a sensitivity analysis of last year’s Grand Challenge, along with our strategies for achieving success this year.
Testing of the FTV™ continues with one eye on the Grand Challenge and the other on global commercialization of the vehicle. We continue to gain worldwide exposure of the FTV™ through our entry in the Grand Challenge, and the value-added of the vehicle control systems and sensor systems open our vehicle to exciting new markets.
Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT™)
We are pleased and excited to tell you that during the course of our ongoing testing of our IVT™, we developed what we believe is an extremely significant technological breakthrough – a modular interchangeable hydrostat/hydro-mechanical transmission, all in one. The hydrostatic mode of the transmission operates exclusively on our patented hydraulic pumps and motors, and is especially effective at low RPM’s. The hydro-mechanical mode operates by utilizing both our patented hydraulic pumps and motors combined with a conventional gear pack.
We consider this to be revolutionary because the modular design allows a vehicle to run at high efficiencies at extremely low RPM’s and infinite overdrive as opposed to a fixed overdrive found on most vehicles; uses the full amount of torque available at any engine speed at the lowest RPM based on driving conditions; significantly increases overall durability; and allows us to build smaller sized pumps and motors, thereby providing more available room for fit in a wider variety of vehicles. Accordingly, the patent process has been crucial during the last several months and has consumed a great deal of our time.
We have spent a substantial amount of time engineering and testing our IVT™ running in the hydrostatic mode with the goal of creating an inexpensive automatic transmission with favorable performance attributes. The performance of the hydrostat transmission had to be designed and tested to function under the typical driving scenarios associated with the Asian, Chinese and South American markets. Some of our tests were specifically designed around the urban driving conditions found in major cities, including those of China. Early indications are that the hydrostat will be significantly less expensive that a comparable automatic transmission, and we are in the process of refining our cost estimates at this time. The hydro-mechanical transmission is designed to provide favorable performance for both diesel and gasoline engines for SUV’s, light trucks and buses.
We developed this breakthrough technology through and as a result of our extensive testing program conducted on the GM Tahoe which we announced last fall. We now plan on conducting a series of real-world driving scenarios to confirm the benefits of our new modular technology.
It is important for our shareholders to understand that measuring fuel efficiencies obtained by actual city, suburban and highway driving scenarios is, from a strategic standpoint, an absolutely necessary supplement to the conduct of auto industry accepted tests. This is especially the case now that a number of reputable organizations, such as the American Automobile Association, have challenged the validity and practicalities of such tests. For example, please refer to the following website:
http://www.aaa-calif.com/corpinfo/05-03-03-mileage.asp.
We believe that your Company must be on as solid a footing as is possible to commercialize your modular IVT in the global marketplace, and we have every intention of accomplishing this goal.
Iso-Torque Differential
We are nearing completion of a demonstration Iso-Torque differential and are now concluding the plans for testing the differential in real world driving scenarios. Our differential will undergo performance, durability, reliability and safety testing utilizing state of the art test equipment that is just now being released to the market. The test equipment is the same as that used by Road & Track in their “Best All-Around Sports Car” competition, where they tested the new Corvette, Dodge Viper, Porsche Carrera and Boxster and the Nissan 350Z. Our tests will be performed utilizing a Nissan 350Z 30th Anniversary Edition that has received significant global press.
With test data, we will be in a position to aggressively market our differential. To that end, we are in direct contact with various interested parties.
Personally, I have been spending a great deal of my time working towards the commercialization of Torvec’s technology platforms. The value of having our technology platforms in vehicles that can be demonstrated on the road is extremely helpful to that end. I am very pleased with our commercialization opportunities and progress to date. I would like to thank you for your continued interest in Torvec and its development of all of your technologies.
Sincerely,
Philip A. Fain,
Chief Executive Officer
Hi everyone...
Did I miss anything...?
Invest...misleading..?
Post 1783 from Tomvec..
"one more dot to connect-Isnt a director of the company a former automobile dealership owner?"
Your repsonse to Tomvec in post 1784....
"I may be wrong but I believe that Dot sold shares in the fall in the $4 range. That's one dot we can't connect."
Just how many former auto dealership owners do you think are Torvec directors...?? come on Invest...when you say things like "Torvecian, As usual your post is very misleading. I never mentioned the board members name in that post. Lets make that very CLEAR"...it's makes you less credible
have a nice day...
My perspective.....
I question motives when someone comes on with blatantly innaccurate information like the bankruptcy thing...
I have posted hundreds of times on Torvec here and on RB...I have never..repeat never posted anything that I couldn't back up with facts from public information and my own research...
I have obviously posted many opinions that arenot always in line with everyone else's.....I do have resoures available to do research and fact gathering that most people wouldn't think of or utilize.....all I can say is do more homework and get creative in your due diligence and research techniques...
While you and dyna and others deflect the issue of shorts, etc., it tells me that you haven't done your homework...
Let's agree on this.....we want the same thing...we just have vastly different approaches to the process.....try picking up the phone once in while ( not directed at you invest1111 specifically as you are taking a specific step like checking on-line county records) to gather information below the surface...if you go strictly on the surface information, you will either miss the boat or be frustrated...once in while you might get lucky....
I'm done for a while.....that is unless more really inaccurate info comes which I will challenge....sorry if I offend anyone here, but I have never missled anyone in these forums, nor will I...
Again for the record...
I called Mr. Siconolfi once again..(He's a very freindly guy for what it's worth)..in 1984 he went thru all of the planning and zoning process with the Town of Penfield..started building the facility in late 1984 and opend in 1985....the collision business, which he also owned. was a subsidiary of the dealership...he sold it all in 1995..the 94 -95 should be 84 - 95....
....when you googled him, his home phone number comes up...call him yourself ....he's a nice guy ..
Quote from Invest1111..
"I may be wrong but I believe that Dot sold shares in the fall in the $4 range. That's one dot we can't connect."
In the fall, Gary Siconolfi sold 3,000 shares in the $4 range..
You are correct Tomvec...
If you hang around a little longer, you will easily figure out dyna's agenda....the stripes are showing again.....
