Verylong,
OT: I just looked at Sony's hybrid of DLP and LCD. It appears to be the best of both worlds. I think it is actually their version of LCOS. I don't know if they make them as big as mugur had listed.
I think they are calling it SXRD.
I looked at these and compared to DLP and LCD and found it to be superior, actually pretty close to a plasma. It allowed a wider viewing angle than DLP and LCD, but still not as good as plasma.
If you are looking for a really large screen (not in my budget so I have not looked), I would not disregard a projector. They have come a long way.
All that said, mugur certainly seems to be a better expert than me but just thought I would throw out some thoughts.
Have a good day. Back to changing the water pump on my wifes car.
Bucky
Verylong,
Hoping you pulled some off the table with SUF. Wow. What is happening there.
Bucky
I caught a very quick look at the site and did not see much. Based on other general comments as to the technical details and now this video, my belief was that it was a site on the company server intended for internal use. A way that people at different locations can share info. This info does not appear to be something for general public eyes and ears.
Basically someone doing research on the company stumbles on the site by accident. I would not judge the company negatively for displaying poor quality presentations because that was not the intention. I would say shame on them for not having the site locked up.
My opinion

Oil Sands.
I picked this up off of the Raging Bull CWPC board. Good publicity for the industry.
CBS to run story on Canadian Oil Sands on Sunday's 60
Imagine oil reserves EIGHT TIMES that of Saudi Arabia. 8 Times !!!
Where?? Watch 60 Minutes this Sunday January 22, 2006.

SUF is one that I heard about when it was at 9 and seemed like too quick of a run so I just watched and waited....and waited....and (%$#*&) waited...
I am in the process of pulling some cash together and may still enter. I am not altogether cautious, but I hate to chase a stock and thought it would settle for a bit.
Congrats on that one.

Not sure if it is a coincidence or not, but I bought some wsce on Thursday also. Did you first mention it on Friday or am I crazy.
I did a bit of research and found WSCE and CWPC. Up on both so far. I also own RTK with very nice profits. RTK still in energy but not oilsands, they are in coal to liquids.
Energy has been good to me over the last couple of years. My brother put Valero Energy into my account about 2 years ago and they continue to perform well. VLO is a slow and steady climber, nothing like the potential that WSCE may have.
Long story short, if it was from you somehow, thanks for the tip on WSCE. Either way, good luck to us all.

Regarding closing prices.

01/19/2006 08:28:48 ET On Wednesday, 1/18, beginning at 15:39:12 PM ET, NASDAQ experienced a technical problem in submitting transactions in NYSE and AMEX listed securities to the Consolidated Tape. Approximately 81,000 trade reports were rejected from 15:39:12 PM ET through the end of the day. In addition, there were approximately 650 transactions which occurred at 9:50 that were resubmitted at approximately 17:50 without .SLD modifiers, potentially affecting last sale. The technical issue causing the problem has been corrected, and NASDAQ is working to resubmit the rejected transactions on an as/of basis.

having just sold a small part of my rtk holding based on close yesterday, i am not best pleased"
That seems to explain a few things. What a mess it created.
I posted this on RB for another stock (not GTE) that I own and follow. For the record, there is a bit of sarcasm in my post but you get the point. Unusual after hours the last two days with AMEX stocks.
"Glitch in the system.
Now that you say that, I have another stock that acted strangely after hours and it also trades on the AMEX.
Actually yesterday after the market closed, my Ameritrade account showed a gain of millions of dollars and change (give or take a million). I was up late (after midnight, making it the next day) working on a project and needed to check a closing price and my account only showed a gain of $200.
Could that be because of premarket action? This all is quite confusing."
Bucky
What happened in after hours?
We lost our gain for the day.

Thank you for your time.
I have to admit that I pre-judged both you and mugur with all of your "haha" and "wahoo" and "gimme gimme gimme" as pumpers or goofballs. You definitely have a handle on PMTI and seem to know what's up.
I certainly think that the retail opportunities are exciting with J&J and Gillett. But, the govt study for pseudofolliculitis barbae is what really intrigues me. What will be the results as far as PMTI ability to sell a product beyond the military... Govt. contract are very nice and usually carry some nice margins (especially when the R&D is funding in part by your customer), but just think of the retail market opportunities.
Now, I am not a fan up fluffy PR's telling us about everyday potentials and "we might do somthing", but I sure wish the company would put out more info beyond the quarterly earnings. But then, all we really need is to see our share price rising.
Based on your rec of mfys in your post, i just figured out your ID. I am quick.
Thanks.
Bucky
verylongonmfys and mugar,
Thanks for the info. I will begin my studies.
I realize hind site is always way too good, but looking at my PMTI and thinking back to the time around the reverse split and all the freaking out I did....... Look at this darn thing now and why didn't I get more then. Oh well, still OK.
I just had a stock I have owned for quite some time go over $5 today and will be able to option soon.
Just heard today along the lines of IVAN and SUF, Petrobank (PBG) is doing some similar things. Any thoughts on this one. I have not purchased any of these as of yet.
Thanks again.
Bucky
Could you guys please provide a link or recommend a book to learn more about options. You make is sound pretty straightforward, but I am sure there is more to it.
I sold too much PMTI on it's way up, like in the 15 range, but still very happy with what I still have. My average pps is around $1.80 so I feel real good.
OT: I noticed comments made about SUF. Do you have other recommendations in the oil and gas bus.? I have some energy stocks and want to get into an oilsands play. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Bucky
I opened this board when there was a lot of spam coming into the Raging Bull board for Rentech. The spam seems to have calmed down and RB is a very good/informative and active board.
That is where to go for the best DD on Rentech, but this will stay open if ever needed.
Bucky
bernoulli,
I can't answer your question specifically. However, GTE has a Russian partner who is putting up $600 mil to roll this out to the masses. I am sure they all have a very good handle on what the price point needs to be for success.
Bucky
Mide, sorry, I realize this entire thread belongs on the other board.
its: I don't recall too many initial announcements of deals/projects/contracts presented by companies that list their margin. There also is such a thing as a loss leader. It gets you in the door, It allows for further revenue streams, It allows for other product lines to be introduced/marketed/sold.
Look at cheap cars, they get you in the "family" and then they hope you upgrade on your next purchase.
Sorry again Mide for wrong board. This is still the TA board, correct?
Bucky
Board info is hidden?
Open up the main GTE page on Ihub (where you see the list of messages.)
Click on "show board info" in upper left next to "GlobeTel (GTE)".
Bucky
I think that I understand what Jaa was trying to say, that is that TA can only be applied to certain stocks. It is spooky sometimes, myself being uneducated in TA but learning, how close many of you are with your analysis. It would seem that it takes a solid company like GTE to help with your accuracy, having said that.....
I have had questions about TA and when to use.
To anyone. Can TA be used on any stock? Is TA more effective on certain stocks? Does the company need to be well run with distinct positive or negative things happening?
Thanks for any thoughts or feedback.
Bucky
What happened to Steven D has happened to me, not that I am complaining. I have placed an order for GTE (and other stocks) at a set price and I picked it up lower than my mark. Why would they do that?
I can't think of any other sales person selling for less than you are offering.
Is it more to do with grouping blocks of shares together? Are the transactions happening too quickly to handle each one on its own?
Thanks.
Bucky
The Wikipedia is actually just an online database that anyone can add to or edit.
It is still good to see the Stratellite in print. The more the better.
If they are going to announce anything "new" at either conference they are required to put out a PR.
Regarding this:
Of course, based on the fact that it appears we are only waiting on the "delivery of the Guidance, Navigation and Control Computer System (CCS) and the Safety Control System (SCS)."
How different would these elements of the Stratelite be for the commercial as compared to the military version?
Bucky
I post this article more for the wireless technology application that is being utilized. Hopefully, in the future people will be able to get all of their wireless VOIP direct from one source. GTE.
8X8 INC Quick Quote: EGHT 1.70 (Even)
Packet8 & Cascade Networks Bring Wireless Internet Services to Mt. St. Helens Commemorative Event
5/17/2005
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 17, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --
Tomorrow, as dignitaries and high level government officials gather at the base of Mt. St. Helens to mark 25 years since the 1980 eruption, a sophisticated high speed wireless network will facilitate data and voice communications in an efficient and invisible manner, despite the remoteness of this isolated location.
8x8, Inc. (Nasdaq: EGHT), provider of Packet8 broadband voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and videophone communications services, has partnered with wireless internet service provider Cascade Networks to deploy a powerful communications network that will serve as a backbone for this high profile event commemorating the volcano's massive eruption 25 years ago.
The "Reflection and Renewal" event, sponsored by Weyerhaeuser Company, will take place on Wednesday, May 18 starting at 10 AM at the Mount St. Helens Forest Learning Center, which sits in the 1980 blast zone on the northwest side of the crater. Many area dignitaries, including Washington Governor Christine Gregoire, Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski, and high level administrators from the federal government will be in attendance.
Cascade Networks has deployed a Motorola Canopy 20 Megabit Backhaul along with a dozen standard telephones and Packet8 Internet phone adapters to provide attendees and media with internet voice and high-speed wireless data services for laptops and PDAs. Normally, the Center is served by a combination of traditional dial-up Internet access and four copper-pair phones that have been less than reliable in the past. Due to the remote nature of the site, it lies outside the coverage area for most cellular phone providers.
"We are honored to provide high speed wireless Internet connectivity for this important memorial event," said Brian Magnuson, president of Cascade Networks, Inc. (dba Last Mile Gear). "With this framework in place, attending media and VIP guests will remain connected to the outside world, able to readily share their observations of how Mt. St. Helens has evolved over the past two and a half decades."
Speakers at the event will reflect back on how the 1980 eruption impacted lives and the landscape. They will also celebrate the renewal of the surrounding forest, which was leveled in 1980 but today is healthy and productive.
"The advantages of wireless internet technology and VoIP are beautifully illustrated in this scenario," said 8x8 Chairman & CEO Bryan Martin. "Where landline and cell phones fail to operate, broadband phone service driven by a sophisticated wireless network facilitates a powerful and flexible solution that would otherwise not be possible."

To follow up on what Rocky stated....
If/when we have fewer shares to consider, it will not assist us in making a profit any sooner. If/when the company is profitable it will simply mean that the profit/share will be greater than before.
Conversly, if we have a loss, the loss/share will be greater.
Bucky
We were told and read from the AMEX requirements that GTEL met the listing requirements without the RS.
I am just guessing/speculating....
Maybe between the BOD and the AMEX review staff it was determined that they if they needed to perform a RS for further share availability, now was the time. It doesn't hurt to have an AMEX listed company trading in the $4-5 range, but I doubt that the AMEX just wants a company that looks good on paper. I think there has to be so much more to the decision.
They have to want the companies trading on their exchange to be solid, strong companies with good fundamentals. If GTEL met the current requirements for listing but did not have the available shares/cash to make more cash and be self-sustaining, then it benefits nobody.
Long story short....I doubt they did the RS just to get the pps up or the number of OS down so they would look good on paper.

At this point, there has not been a lot of definitive information as to what is next. The thought is that RC is going to pursue the conversion with RTK as a partner, utilizing their technology.
They are going forward with FEED and see what comes of it. It seems that RC started to realize how great the benefits of the conversion were and decided that they did not want to give up ownership.
Some on the RB board believe that RTK will still be a partial equity partner.
MadDog
If you look at the Raging Bull board for RTK, you will find a lot of good information and intelligent conversation.
This site was set up to avoid the Raging Bull BS and thus far has not been used by the group on the other board.

I went to a Power Sources Conference in Philadelphial last June. This show was for military applications.
EaglePicher has an impressive exhibit there and also had several White Papers that were presented at the conference. From one of the brochures that I have from the show, EaglePicher states that their systems are "for military, aerospace, and commercial applications. A multitude of electronic systems are available ranging from battery-monitoring assemblies and intelligent battery chargers to test and measurement systems."

According to the attached link, a geostationary satellite is the only way to have complete geosynchronous orbit and true persistence (they fly at 22,282 miles above earth). With low and medium orbit, the view or connection to a location must change from one sat to the next.
If you just want a picture for general viewing, this can work fine. When you require much greater detail in your photographs, a constant eye, or the speed needed/demanded for communication, all of the satellites fail on some level.

Rocky, you can delete this. It repeated previous message.
Sorry.
I think you answered your own question.
"If a strat did need to come down then obviously aircraft in the area are to be notified."
And I think for the next question.
"What if one comes down "not" at a scheduled time."
"As for me personally I know the strats are unmanned and constantly monitored."
IMO. The appropriate authorities would be notified to clear the skis.
Assuming this post is correct, the company would have up to 30 days after approval from AMEX to make the announcement/move.
I looked on the AMEX site and could not find for certain to confirm but it seems to make sense.
http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=5547786
You are correct that they must make a fair and equal dissemination of information to the public.
Most manufacturing facilities or community airports for that matter do not have a runway long enough to service a transport vehicle like a C-140. Point being, they would still have to move the thing from their facility to where a plane is. At that point, they may as well go the rest of the way on their own.
It is my strong and sincere opinion that they either have been approved by the FAA or they have not yet. LOL.
IMO the company has been smart about the way they are releasing press (although they have missed the mark on some of their releases, most are very good).
In sales/in life really, I have been taught to not leave anything on the table or "blow your wad" all at once. Basically, don't tell someone (new customer/first date/investment community) what is so great about you in one sitting, you must let them sit on the information to digest it for a bit and then come back with more.
I would think that the company did not hire all of their new people on different days or one day after the other. They did however, take the opportunity to have impactful releases over many days and weeks (rolling out the information). This is sales plain and simple, and life is sales whether you are selling a product, a company, a service, or yourself. Salesmanship is not about deception or misinformation, it is about education, building interest, creating a need, and in the end serving all of these.
They very well could have the approval from FAA, Amex approval, signed contracts from the Gov., Cingular, and the man Jesus himself. Maybe just waiting for the right time to let us know. Or, maybe they have none of this.
Be patient and trust that they are working toward a common goal of success.
Bucky
To those with questions about patents.
Until they are releasing information to the public, it is not truly needed to protect anything. Even with that in mind, the protection is most likely in place.
http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/pac/doc/general/faq.htm#1
2. Is there any danger that the USPTO will give others information contained in my application while it is pending?
A. Most patent applications filed on or after November 29, 2000, will be published 18 months after the filing date of the application, or any earlier filing date relied upon under Title 35, United States Code. Otherwise, all patent applications are maintained in the strictest confidence until the patent is issued or the application is published. After the application has been published, however, a member of the public may request a copy of the application file. After the patent is issued, the Office file containing the application and all correspondence leading up to issuance of the patent is made available in the Files Information Unit for inspection by anyone, and copies of these files may be purchased from the Office.
It is also possible to file a Provisional Application. This covers you for 12 months until you get all of the design aspect put together for the Non-Provisional, which is the real deal.
http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/pac/provapp.htm
Long story short, the protection can be there without anyone knowing or needing to know.
Bucky
Did anyone watch this show?
I do not have Discovery Science on my cable service...

I think what Cab was meaning....
We do not need to read a message saying "You are now on ignore, hidden, etc."
If you choose to ignore someone, please do so and go on with things but no comment is needed. The rest will take care of itself.
Thanks.

A question about all of the recent people hired.
How many of them left current positions to come work for GTEL? The releases describe their past relative experience but I did not see anything that stated their status immediately prior to coming on board.
Based on the type of people they seem to be, I would presume they have not been sitting around playing checkers or painting happy trees and clouds with Bob Ross. It becomes just that much more exciting to think that these people left "real" and productive jobs to take part in the Strattelite program.
Any thoughts or detail would be appreciated.
911 issue was posted on the GTEL board.
Issue in VOIP with 911 calls is obviously a big deal. 8 x 8 is "Still the only residential VoIP service providing true E911 functionality"

VoIP: Almost a Killer App
By Roy Mark
March 16, 2005
www.internetnews.com/bus-news/article.php/3490701
WASHINGTON -- Internet telephony has often been called the killer app for broadband services. For Peter John, his wife Sosamma and their teenage daughter Joyce, it was almost literally true.
Last month, intruders burst into the John's southwest Houston home, robbing and shooting the couple while their daughter frantically used the upstairs Voice over IP line to call 911.
"Stop, you must dial 911 from another telephone. 911 is not available from this telephone line. No emergency personnel will be dispatched," a recording told the daughter.
Fortunately, the Johns survived the attack, and emergency personnel did arrive after their daughter went next door to call for help from a traditional landline telephone.
John Melcher, the executive director of the Houston 911 emergency network, brought the recovering family to Capitol Hill today to underscore what he called the good and the bad of emerging IP-based services.
"This family's experience typifies the American consumer's relationship with new and innovative IP-enabled services and the dramatic impact these services have on public safety," Melcher told the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet.
Melcher added, "Call it what you may, grace of God, good fortune or karma, the John family experience with [VoIP] broadband telephone service is a compelling yet harrowing story about the benefits of IP-enabled services while highlighting the need to formulate a forward plan for the future of emergency services in this country."
The testimony highlighted a long, tedious hearing on VoIP, covering much of the same ground as previous Internet telephony examinations by other House and Senate panels, as well as the ongoing IP-enabled services review at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
"VoIP is the harbinger for the ultimate product for consumers in communications services: geographic number portability. VoIP combines low cost with flexibility by allowing a New York-based talent firm to have Los Angeles area code numbers without the exorbitant costs associated with foreign exchange mileage and usage charges," Melcher said. "The benefits for parents with children attending far away universities, elderly parents on limited incomes and other similar consumer scenarios are easily envisioned."
The downside of 911 services, however, is that the Internet-based VoIP service's location is determined entirely by the end user. Unlike traditional telephone service, VoIP users can place a call from any broadband connection.
"This is problematic for both consumers and public safety," Melcher said. "Consumers have a reasonable and realistic expectation that access to 911 services is available to any communications service that is being touted as a replacement for [traditional telephone service]."
Melcher testified that after years of public safety education, the American public expects that access to 911 services is "not only ubiquitous it is also automatic. That is, the consumer need do nothing more than request communications services. Providing location of service is an alien and foreign concept to many consumers."
Further, Melcher added, 911 personnel have come to depend on the public's knowledge of 911 to "pattern operational practices to optimize their response to emergency incidents."
This change of roles for both consumers and 911 personnel, Melcher said, will prompt a new extensive public safety educational campaign.
"This educational process may address immediate needs but may have the unintended consequence of diminishing the relevance of 911 in the public's eye," he said. "We are leery of any campaign that says, '911 is the number for emergencies except if you use VoIP.'"
As groundwork for this year's planned telecom reform in Congress, the Telecommunications and Internet subcommittee held the hearing to measure the progress of VoIP since it burst upon the Washington scene a little more than a year ago.
Since then, the FCC has ruled that VoIP is an interstate service not subject to state rules and regulations, and that companies providing Internet telephony must comply with federal wiretap requirements. The agency is still studying the 911 obligations of VoIP carriers and the potential contributions carriers might be required to make to the Universal Service Fund.
"VoIP is still in its infancy and the regulatory ground upon which VoIP stands is not as firm as I think it needs to be in order that it reaches its projected potential," Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.), chairman of the subcommittee, said. "I would note that only seven individuals -- five FCC commissioners and two federal district court judges -- stood in the way of VoIP potentially being regulated by 51 state public utility commissions."
This delay offers many advantages and positives.
-Most importantly is to make sure Sans One will fly and perform well as designed.
-Time to announce positive 4th Qtr results prior to launch.
-Time to announce further and more definitive results of core business units (International Gateway in Hong Kong, full telephony product line introduced, etc.).
-Possible announcement of AMEX approval and begin listing on said exchange.
-Bring in more exceptionally qualified individuals to help support the growth of the Company.
-Time to establish further contracts with other regions/markets around the world for the Strat business concept.
All positive going forward. Good luck to all of us.
