Oil oil where is the oil. I suspect something very interesting. The competition already let their cat out the bag. Canopy surpasses every time cause their just way more creative. Thank Ian Rapsey for that .
Interesting note. Privateer holdings, the giant out of America, parent company to Tilray , the Canadian LP out of bc , is also the Parent company to Marley Naturals, Bob Marleys Heirloom Cannabis Brand....They are NOT sponsoring the Cannabis Cup in Jamaica. Tweed, a little entrepreneur from smith falls Ontario is. Go figure, huh?
For the record.

As for my volunteering as CFO (of) the Liberal Party, I have no role in policy making nor in policy decisions, no role in the transition, no future role in government and, as incorrectly previously reported, I am not an adviser to Justin Trudeau nor am I close to him," he said". - c rifici
I think I heard , that prior to the election, mr Rifici and mr Trudeau hadn't ever met.
I think some folks are just but hurt that Chuck is so damb smart and saw a great entrepreneurial opportunity, and did something about it.
And let's always remember, the MMPR is a Conservative Government Creation.
This Board is refreshing. A lot of interesting Characters and Great DD.
When I invest, the price per share is the last thing on my check of list.
The most important ones fall under Management, who's running the show, And can they be trusted to what they say they will in the best interest of both the corporation and the community it serves.
There's a few others on the list, but I won't get into that cause everyone's got their own style.
What I mean to say is, forget the sp for one moment and just look at what this team at Canopy has accomplished in under two years? Then ask wether or not they can be trusted to continue to execute.
If so, what is that worth, a week, month, years, or decade from now, whatever your price target is.
Other than Calin Rovinescue and the Air Canada Board that turned that Corporation around from $0.88 to over $10 in just a few years, I can't think of any other Canadian Company , especially entrepreneurs, other than Shopify, that have such a strong Corporate culture.
I guess I'd have to Full Disclosure too.
I do own shares in CGC
Remember Bruce mentioned the Best part of Tweeds initial business was going into a town like Smith Falls where businesses were leaving town with there jobs and leaving big empty warehouses? The town welcomed them with open arms because the promises to play by the rules and help build the local economy.
So I think there is a similar opportunity here. In order to put on this event, applications had to be made to the Jamaican Government for a license. That most likely had a cost, paid by Tweed. The government had to review the licence and ask themselves, is this going in the right direction with the right business people and is it good for the local economy and culture?
Apparently the answer is Yes. As far as I know, when you have a good house guest once, their welcome tends to be extended.
There's a Natural Mystic Blowing through the air...
We don't have to always be surprised and taken back when Tweed/Bedrocan/Canopy news is published.
The founders of Former MedCann Access, now Better by Tweed have been speaking at committee meetings with the Jamaican Government for years now. I'm sure that recognition isn't just for show. And from what I assess, the Rastafarian Culture don't just do business as a collective group with anyone per say, especially to put the name on a billboard and say, " hey , we're working together with these guys over here to do this."
Just ask yourself if you think this is the last Jamaica / Tweed announcement you will here of. If yes, then it's trivial. If no, then what the heck do you think there talking about in that board room at smith falls in regards to Tweed/Better by Tweed/ Bedrocan/ Canopy Growth.. Key word is Growth
Speculation- Jamica is further ahead of Canada for cannabis reform. MedCann access has an incentive to generate international business. Tweed has sponsored a legal Cannabis event being held in a Tourist Area...
So is it completely out of context to suggest a Tweed location or two or three in , say, Montego Bay, Negril, Ochi Rios? Locations where millions of international Tourists with international Currency flock to , among other things, taste the herb?
Jamaica has an extremely devalued currency. $1us - $120jmd. A Jamaican would pay $50jmd for 2.5 grams. That's $2.4 us for 2.5 grams, or $1.25 a gram. There is no money in selling Cannabis to the Jamaican population. But a tourist, who doesn't always have easy access to "local" trade will often pay 10x the amount, and it's not always the best herb or the best business deal.
So think about the boost Tweed can have as a legal Cannabis agent in Jamaica, by building Greenhouses (plural) similar to Niagara on The Lake, hiring Jamicans for production, Better by tweed outlets ready for the thousands of plane loads and cruise ships that land and dock, to provide the Best Grown Herb in The World!
Instant Global Exposure, at 1/10th the cost!
Not to mention the year round production ability.
I could go on and on, but the magic is in the detail of speculation. I'm siding with MMPR user on this One. Heavily under rated.
Very good interview. He'd rather work with people who have great attitudes than Gods of Cannabis who are Omnipotent. I noticed all their finished product had "Burp" periods written on the label.
Side note, Bruce was on CBC recently explaining how NO PESTICIDES are used on the product. I think the production standards are the single most important regulation to carry into RecMJ.
I found Tina Frasers article below David Browns interview with Ryan. She also thinks LP's are here to stay...
http://news.liftcannabis.ca/2015/10/28/trina-fraser-time-to-overhaul-the-mmpr/
Clarify. I think dilution can be expected to a total of over ~100mil shares. Not an additional ~100mil (yikes! That would b ridiculous)
I noticed that key point. It's exactly what's hurt and helped investors. The share price has been kept low while the corporation has stayed way ahead of the game. You can't have it both ways , or can you?
If Canopy hadn't built the platform it has, with the bought deals and options, there wouldn't be a Canopy. It's a growth company. The dilution has been to grow company.
Speculation... With out cash flow positive, or even with a $0.02 eps, there will be some form of capital financing to gear up for RecMJ. I know the greenhouse and grow rooms are ready to go. 400k sqft? But the size of the RecMj market is going to need additional investment in marketing for example, or packaging and processing. Or simply labor to harvest the tonnage.
So I think we could anticipate some dilution, over 100mil shares, but with the purpose of growing the eps to... Xx$ps. Speculation over
Lift cannabis has some nice photos,
Oh man! I just remembered extracts are expected soon. That should help out the books a lot going forward because all that previously unusable trim will yield a 1.25x value vs bud as Bruce estimated.
I'm making plans to go on a steady accumulation for the next few months. Although the Mmpr is cash strapped, it's going in the right direction, and with ny luck will hv a definite front line with RecMj if regulations standards remain High.
See you @ double digits Oscarbar
Looks a lot "Better "
Noooo, this is all about sick CanAdians! The sickest population in CAnada and the world is in Bc. Every body needs Dabs to survive man!
I love it when I here the real MMAR patients say how fed up they are with the whining from piggy backers that aren't suffering from illness or chronic pain.
It's a total insult! Yes , some people need oxy contin, some folks need codene and methodone and cannabis. For what ever reason. But some folks just wanna get high! Fine. Just say so , cause their making it worse for everyone that actually needs it.
Just watch how fast The BC medical market shrinks and how fast recreational market multiplies come legal regulations.
What's that novel, brave new world? I think? Where everybody is on Soma just because , without cause.
I love Cannabis, but I'd be dishonest not to say it's not for everybody every time. Heck, too much Bacon can lead to CAncer!
As an investor here, a recreational user and a self medicated user ( still can't get a scrip) I can say the main focus is Customer services and Harms reductions.
For example, a bartender is required by law to stop serving a person who is over intoxicated. Have you seen some of the Dab videos online? Some people are losing their shit (literally) cause they have no idea what their fk'n with! Cannabis is no different.
As an investor, We've got to get this right and as a Country, we've got to get This right. Regulate the shot out of production so greed doesn't pour whatever Chinese unlabelled superjuice fertilizer and pesticide in it so we can just have the best pictures of buds but poisoning people like what's happening in Colorado. Shit, we already get that standard on the street. Illegal grow ops are Moldy cause they're hidden.
We all know this! I'm not talking about the top of the line growers that take pride in their work. They will most likely be looking to work within the framework or keep growing their own trees. I'm talking about the trailers of weed growing in underground bunkers and parked in warehouses and the 21 apartment condos and the suburban mansions... That shit got to stop.
Plus the young people that are dying in the drug trade or going to jail.
It's strange how the dispensaries act like they can just do what ever they want.
This is not an access to cannabis issue. More dispensaries than Tim Hortons and some blatantly selling for profit pseudo recreational is clearly a violation of the MMAR regulations.
Give them an inch, they take a yard. Give them a yard, they take a mile.
They're are rules in this society, and unless they are violating your charter of rights and freedoms, they will be enforced.
BC will have 11 dispensaries where the law so far is prescribed to allow NONE! Count that a small victory. But what will they say now, 11 is not enough, we need 111, on every blasted corner of Vancouver ?
You don't even have to leave your house to order from an LP! If you live in Tim Buck F'n Too, if such a place were in Canada, or Nunavut even, you can have Cannabis delivered to your door step through CanAda post Crown Corporation. That's called accessibility.
And oh, you want to smell it before you buy? Canopy lets you order very small quantities... And it's medicine. Do you taste your oxy first ? Do you reject buckleys cause it tastes bad? Does Tylenol strawberry flavour have to taste like real strawberrys?
I get that Cannabis Culture is different. Of course. But LP product is tried tested and true. Subject to recall at the drop of a bud. Drop in inspections from health inspectors. Any complaints about pharma standard production is ...
It's best if those complaining turned their complaints into a constructive conversation on how to improve on the current system, because that is good. But trying to convince lawmakers you lack access when you had more access to Cannabis than fast food service Coffee and a donuts? More illegal cannabis shops than Tim Hortons ! For American investors, that's like more pot shops( illegal ones) than Duncan Donuts or Krispy Kreme! Who are they kidding!?
canopy is working with regulators to improve the system. Not like some playing Cannabis Jenga, seeing just how much they can get away with before the whole thing implodes. Well BC municipalities are drawing lines they don't want to be crossed now. Let's see how well that works for ya.
You could be right, he may not want to let the cat out the bag for his canada pop or the price could run up on him. Or his holding company might have a large u.s exposure or actually registered in u.s , so he couldn't hold any stock at all.
Oleary is a out of box investor where ever there's clean money. He likes live internet porn returns! Just doesn't want it on his books.
What's bigger than Oleary is MORNINGSTAR !
That's another agency giving a rating without having to participate in a bought deal . Until now there's only been GMP and Jacobs.
Morningstar rating coverage is huge and indicates huge interest in the Company activity. IMO
http://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/video?clipId=735395. Kevin O'Leary sees immense profits in weed!
I read this and I swear it's a comedy piece. A parody for sure. They can't be that dumb
Touché Jose , Touché !
So knowing that one of the founders of Tweed marijuana Inc. is the chief financial officer of the Liberal party of Canada currently the majority representative in the Canadian house of commons can we not speculate that he will present to them simple mathematics as to the possible tax revenue through regulating recreational cannabis in the amount of X billions? And if the new Canadian government wishes to accelerates social spending would it not be simple to form a cannabis text force right away and allow this task force to present their best solution and a timely fashion hopefully as soon as possible?
Let's speculate the MPR has a large foot hole in the Canadian cannabis market. The Federation and provinces will be looking to have the best start into the new recreational industry. The limit government in my opinion will most likely use this regulatory system as the foundation of the new recreational framework. In the same way the Harbra conservatives used the MM a R asThe framework for the MMpr.
Canadians who wants to be a part of the new recreational market will most likely have to apply for a recreational production license. Maybe we can call it marijuana for recreational purposes regulation. Mrpr.
all the excellent growers on the West Coas Will have to apply for a license just like everyone else. Canopy of course will have their license application in. All their eyes dotted and T's crossed. And those who don't get a license will lineup to complain as they are doing right now already. Speculation over
I'd hv 1000x more respect for the guy if he'd at lease short the damn stock! Wtf is he doing here? 1000+ whining comments since 04/2014!? Such a waste of potential
I hope your right on Trudeau fulfilling both Campaign promises pronto , nd your absolutely right; Quebec will probably Ufk u.
Shaft!
Where do you think the home grow/small farmer/allard will go if the province of bc decides to take more jurisdiction?( if they are allowed it, although lawlessness prevailed under conservative government )
http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/canada/manitoba/manitoba-government-ready-to-talk-about-legalizing-marijuana-1.3285036
Dandy of a read. Delta 9 is the LP in this article, but I'm posting it because of the big question of how distribution and regulation will look. A lot of people keep emphasizing Trudeau is focused on Tight regulation and removing organized crime and access to young people. LP's are already in line with strict regulations.
Until November 4th it's all gut wrenching speculation
Hi Board. Just Visiting. Listening to CBC Radio this morning and heard a representative from Aphria talking about expansion plans. Actually the discussion was about being able to create 100 jobs to tend to new business expected through legalization. The rep mentioned plans to build a 5, 1 acre greenhouses, each tended by up to 20 employees.
Sounds very ambitious. I hope its a true reflection of the industry projections. Can anyone here attest to this?
Proove it with sedar or insider trading reports, or quit posting SHIT
http://www.bnn.ca/Video/player.aspx?vid=732800 Canopy on Market Call. fastforward to the end because it's the last stock mentioned.
Your right. I think it will drop. I think the deal is for processing. A full green house harvest and bedrocan and smith falls is gonna take lots of labor and packaging and also distribution.
I think it's a deal to be ready for the incoming volume to process.
I'm not sure this is a bad thing either. 12mil dilution to be ready for a potential 100x multiple is market cap? Seems like a good move. That would bring us to 92 mil common share?
If the dilution is gonna hurt your book value, then sell at the bid this morning. $2.50.
But the market investors may see this deal as one step back one hundred steps forward.
Trade accordingly
Heard on the CBc radio this morning Aphria is planning on building 5 acres of green houses and hiring 100 people, 20 for each green house the minute legalization happens. canopy is ahead of that game, but still may not be enough. That might explain the bought deal. LP's are scrambling to be ready for the November liberal throne speach
I think a lot of people are anxiously holding their breath. The Liberal Party only had 34 seats out of 303 in the 2011 elections. Abysmal results.
Obviously a lot of people wanted a change in Government. But the results surprised more than even the majority that voted Liberal October 19,2015. 184/338 seats!
So on the cusp of change! On the verge of LEGALIZING CANNABIS! In our life times! It's Freaking Amazing!
Obviously there are many many more other pressing issues that Governments will always be hounded by, dogged down with as priority. But that doesn't negate the very important and significant change this will have to not criminalize Thousands of Canadians each year for not violent lifestyle choices.
This is a Democratic Liberal Policy. And that alone makes it all the worth while. I believe Mr. Trudeau understands that along with the significant tax revenue implications. Low estimates are in the Billions!
And nobody is Criminalized!
I think we're all secretly holding our breath and anxiously awaiting the day we can freely exhale our lungs filled with cannabis. Legally
I suspect the provincial governments will understand that even though they would like a private ownership model, that the main objected of legalization is to completely remove the criminal element from cannabis from seed to sale. Alberta has a private liqueur store model, open til 2am seven days a week. But that didn't happen overnight post prohibition. And, as a matter of fact, the municipalities like Edmonton require a lot of extra law enforcement to continuously curb illegal alcohol sales out of the very same private system, like the pizza store delivering boxes full of mickeys with pizza orders. This would never happen in the LCBO.
The recreational cannabis industry is going to have to earn the trust of the public to be able to either police itself, like the MMPR, or lose that trust by criminal association like the MMAR.
Of course there's a lot of folks in the private dispensary model that are not associated with underworld trade, but that doesn't matter when the city is looking for a model that contains the entire industry without undue strain on resources.
Vancouver may keep their current model, but think about how, when cannabis is legal and the liberal government strongly recommends or enforces regulation, how the Grow will be resourced? LP's.
The city's are in favor or tax revenue. And I Highly doubt they will allow a billion dollar legal business to skirt paying taxes just cause cannabis is cool. The supply chain must be regulated so the whole society shares the gains and not just the underworld.
I mean, it's as if some people want a Liberal Social Government, but operate a conservative republic cannabis store? Can we say oxymoron
Honestly, very rare are the projections right , other than a pop here and there. Thing is, the valuations are usually correctly in line, especially the conservative ones. But the "markets" , ie people on the other side of the screen placing buy and sell orders , are irrational. Day traders take pennies, and investors hold for dollars. Tweed has hit price targets before for a day or two, and then rsi became oversold. It all depends on the type of trader/investor you are.
Imo, Canopy is way undervalued. But the hard part is convincing the 80,000,000 other common shares that
Come on Canna! Didn't you know our Resident Troll elect is the foremost intellectual mind in Cannabis Cultivation and production methods? World Class Botanist! Nobel prize winning Horticulturalist! Founder and Ceo of the Only legal Global Cannabis distribution network! And all out of his basement with only six plants!?
I wouldn't question his wealth of knowledge if I were you. As a matter of fact he has been selected as the new liberal parties Consultant for the new legislation. ... Bulls#\* .. Bulls#\+ ...bulls#,+. Just like everything else he posts on this board.
The professionals at Canopy have got this covered. Asinine Sound is a brain damaged troll that lacks the ability to even consider another viewpoint other than his own
Wow! It just keeps getting Better! Great Find Tweedle!
They've averaged 45 days after the end of each quarter ( except the annuals in the 5month consolidation this year) . So my hypothesis is Mid November. 2nd or 3rd week
Haahaha! Bruce is the Mad Magazine kid all Grown up nd turned Big time Cannabis Corporate CEO! It all makes sense now!
You hit the nail on the head my friend!
Does any one here have a strong perspective on the effect the 79 majority Harper Conservative Senators may have on a proposed Legalization Bill?
That seems to be where the dying Harper Conservative Constituents are taking their anti Liberal/Trudeau/Cannabis bone picking.
Is it possible that after the House of Commons puts in some heavy work to draft and pass a sensible majority bill, that unelected appointed senators (who are required to be non-partisan) would act in a partisan way and vote against the bill?
Adam Greenblat speaks to CBC reporters Benjamin Shingler and Jaela Bernstein
http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/canada/montreal/legalized-marijuana-justin-trudeau-cities-1.3282370
It's hard to keep up with all the articles these past few days. It's great exposure and discussion for the industry and cause. Some articles are great and some, like this one are just bland. A whole lot of questions, not much content and concluded with a Municipal Police Cheifs speculation.
At least now that We have a Liberal Government, we can expect the cbc budget to be improved and they can afford to pay journalist for more than 500 words for an article dealing with a "Tipping Point " industry.
Of note in the article is Trudeaus stance on Cannabis Corner Stores. And the differing opinions that will be at the Legislation Bill Drafting Table.
1. PM Trudeau and Liberal Ministers
2. Provincial Ministers and Reps
3. RCMP & Provincial Law Enforcement
4. Health Canada / Health Care Reps
5. Industry Executives
6. Various Lobbying groups*****
...Just to name a few
The last line about Big Tobacco nd Pharma reads like the big elephant in the board room people are trying to ignore, or maybe a gentle threat.
So what happens then? Canopy has strode to be the major dominant Growth platform, True Canadian Entrepreneurship... It's costed investor capital and dilution, and may not yet be sufficient in scale to satisfy the coming tsunami recreational cannabis market.
So does Canopy take another significant step towards scale and value added production capacity...say pre rolled joint packaging if that market presents itself, either with cash , or another bought deal financing? Or do they belly up to the largest bidder from the unimaginable international money that almost certainly will be rearing its inflated head to buy out or compete incessantly?
We've already seen the ridiculous valuation paid for Hypothecary (I think it's Hypo. Can't remember as I'm typing)
Or do investors here keep on punching above their weight with the super dynamic team that is the Canopy Board of directors? That is the question of our Country isn't it? Can Canadian corporations compete within its own market against international prospects and international dollars in the same industry right here at home?
We can see what's happening with class action lawsuits in Colorado with cannabis production practices...need I say more.
Canadians will NOT be the pioneers of another version of the Sleeeeezy Tobacco industry! Regulate the shit out of recreational cannabis to maintain the HIGHEST STANDARD CANNNBIS IN THE WORLD! Grown right here in Canada! Canopy Growth Corporation to be exact. And without bias, any other upstanding LP.
How Dumb can A@B Trolls and the like be to bash every single heavyweight endorsement that is promoting a better system! Reemo is cool with a better system, the Emery's voted for a party that campaigned on a better system, D nd Fn A Genetics is Growing the better system! ...
We've got to get this right! Basement Bush has NO place in this.
I'm not anti BC or Anti dispensary. Actually I'm pro both. They've supplied my need for years in the illegal model. A lot of folks are real pioneering advocates for the cannabis cause. But we know for sure that a GREAT portion of it is for profit tax free exploitation of a lenient BC governments lax enforcement and insatiable recreational demand. It's like some one once said, it's either BC is advocating Recreational Cannabis through the MMAR or BC has the sickest people in Canada.
The issue here is no one is being fooled. There is a definite medical need and it's insulting to those advocated to dress up Recreational Cash Wolves in Medical Sheep clothing. It a disservice to actual progress. It would be as if Mr Trudeau had said to the Media, "ya I smoked and I inhaled, but it was because of my private undisclosed medical condition..." .... Chirp chirp goes the crickets.
Trudeaus mother suffered for years from bipolar depression and she self medicated for years without any medical attention or advice and he hasn't pimped her pain in this campaign for recreational cannabis, cause he's got class.
With the millions of Canadians supporting a regulated Recreational and Medical Cannabis industry that's so close to fruition, the people who don't have anything nice to say, at this point , should shut the F#€¥ up and not say anything at all!
