you still haven't corrected or justified the math you used in amount of biodiesel needed to farm 300,000 bushels of soybeans per day.
get on it, buy a calculator, or stop spouting incorrect info.
why are you stuck on coal?
Disadvantages
Coal is one of the dirtiest of fuels. Burning it produces enormous amounts of ash, and flue gasses containing pollutants such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphuric acids and arsenic. It also produces almost twice as much carbon dioxide as gas (for the same heat).
These pollutants can be cleaned out of the system before they are released although this obviously adds an extra expense to the cost. There is also the danger that poorer or less conscientious countries will skimp on these controls.
There is also the environmental, human and energy costs of extracting the coal: subsidence, spoil heaps, miners' death and illnesses. It should be noted that something like 50% of the energy used to mine coal comes from oil.

do they have an email list they use to distribute info to shareholders?
come on, don't you get 3 strikes before you're out?
I say bring it on, the more negative posts the better. If they are wrong they are easily proven wrong, if they are right we should know about it.
if his ability to update shareholders is dependent on release of other information to the public, he might have to delay his update if that other information is delayed.
don't have to be on the board everyday to know that, just read the PR a little more carefully next time.
it's not a cash dividend. do you have reading comprehension issues or purposely trying to cause confusion?
read an interesting article on genetically modified soybeans that can boost output to 50 bushels or more per acre. Maybe not something people are ready or willing to eat, but no reason to not process it for fuel.
GEO, I think we just have different time horizons. I hate paying taxes, and try to avoid short-term capital gains tax whenever possible so I usually pick stocks with at least a 1 year time horizon. Let's see where we stand in Oct 07 :)
yes, that last post was very entertaining. Its funny when they try to spin "facts and figures" to make their point.
don't know about you, but i'm up 100% in 2 months
wouldn't call that zilch
are you sure about your math?
50M gallons of diesel to farm 109.5M bushels of soybeans?
it takes 4.1 gallons of diesel on average to farm 1 acre of soybeans
http://www.ers.usda.gov/Data/CostsAndReturns/Fuelbystate.xls
and 1 acre can produce an average of 40 bushels of soybeans.
So, it would take 109.5M bushels/40 bushels per acre = 2.7M acres of farmland to produce the "extra" soybeans, which would then require 2.7M acres x 4.1 gallons per acre = 11.07M gallons of diesel. (not 50M gallons).
and of course that all assumes that the 109.5M bushels are "extra" crops. Perhaps some soybeans that are exported today could be sold to USSE instead. Or maybe farmers can use USSE biofuel instead of diesel.
they need to dump redwood and get a quality IR firm doing the PR's.
thanks kippykai, appreciate the info
anyone know if everything was delivered and assembled, or was it delayed?
Plant Progress
The custom built pneumatic valves, the longest lead items, have been manufactured for the first module (4 reactors) and we will receive them in Natchez on Thursday, November 9, 2006. We expect the balance of the material for the first new reactor this coming week. The money for these materials has either already been paid or monies have been set aside for their delivery.
delisted from what, the pink sheets?
PPS anybody that bought on your hype is not liking you at present :)
a 36% swing down and back up in under an hour?
gotta love the market
who picked up shares at 14 cents today? would love to know...
another possibility....the market anticipates that the dividend will equal 50% or more of USSE's original value. hard to know what USSE should be valued at until the value of the dividend is known.
why the drop?
where's the financing
where are the 4 tubes
where are the take or pay contracts
where's the Vidalia contract
will keep going down til then
how is GOOG overvalued? It has billions in revenue and fewer shares outstanding than USSE.
kippykai
do you know offered JR big money for the tech? Was it big oil? another biofuel co? Was it to further develop or to squash it?
thanks if you know
they don't need financing for the 4 tubes. the 4 tubes will produce biofuel and revenue. stop watching short-term swings if you're invested for the long-term payoff.
does this combination allow USSE to feed less expensive, more abundant crops into the reactors? switchgrass, food waste, etc?
memorandum of understanding is less binding than letter of intent, so this is by no means a done deal. could fall thru for a variety of reasons, we'll just have to wait and see.
more products, enhanced technology, cost reductions.
seems like a good match if they can execute.
IMO the only news that will move this significantly now is news of revenue coming into the company. at this point all the speculative investors have a position. you either believe this business will succeed or you don't. if you believe you're already long (or slowly adding to your position). if you don't believe you've moved on or waiting for proof (revenue).
otherwise it will take a different class of investor to generate big gains such as institutional or mutual fund buying, but not likely until company is off the pinks.
IMO no, controlling interest does not necessarily mean consolidated. USSE is just a majority shareholder, and will have all the input and influence that it carries. Of course, if ACMG is successful and ACMG stock price goes up, so does value of USSE's holdings.
But it's not just a holding, USSE appears to be incorporating ACMG technology into it's biofuel process. Both USSE and ACMG may benefit from this arrangement if USSE/USSP business is successful.
if USSE grows, and USSE is using ACMG technology, then ACMG grows along with USSE. Purchase of ACMG shares is easy way to boost investment in this business IMO.
this may reduce the cost of the reactor tubes USSE will need, and perhaps speed up their production?
looks like USSE plans to broaden it's product line and try to reduce manufacturing costs
They will provide us with additional complementary technologies that will further lower our manufacturing costs and provide further economies of scale. We will now be able to offer Ethanol, Ethylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, and Ethyl Ester (biodiesel) synthesized from ethanol and vegetable oil in addition to our existing suite of products, which include 7-3-7 organic fertilizer and unique biofuels derived from soy and corn.
quite confused on the surface, but this company must have something that USSE needs and/or plans to include in it's business model.
is this new info? don't remember seeing this
JLivermore, it's a possibility of course, especially since it's a JS company. Though I'd rather see a big utility co. get involved which would lend further credibility and financial backing.
today's PR just explained how they will determine who is eligible for the dividend, which they already announced in the last pr (shareholders of record as of Dec 1).
the only new information was that the company expects to disclose more information on or about Jan 3.
IMO they will spin off any operation that generates emissions that threaten green tags or other credits. power generation falls into that category. sales of fuel do not. power generation from the gas byproduct probably would, unless it burns 100% cleanly.
the big jackpot for USSP would be major JVs that accelerate construction of power plants.
I think it's also a case of persistent disbelief that this can be accomplished. The logistics of the whole operation, getting access to millions of bushels of soybeans, delivery of the soybeans, delivery of the fuel, etc. As some of the pieces fall together disbelief and skepticism may slowly fade.
CYBR is a possibility, though chances are low. perhaps they intended the dividend payment date to be sooner anticipating that CYBR would have emerged from BK, but had to delay after CYBR delayed the BK hearing. Problem with CYBR is that the SEC deregistered the shares, so more work is required to re-register.
I don't think they need financing to get the first 4 tubes up and running, and the first 4 tubes will generate revenue. so we might hear about revenue first.
good point, people won't complain so much about this drop if USSP is issued and trades at 30 cents+ (assuming USSE doesn't fall below today's level)
If USSP only trades at 15 cents or below, most who purchased prior to Nov 28 will likely be disappointed.
How much will USSE and USSP together be worth? we won't know until they both trade.
the question is, will combined value of USSE and USSP be 50 cents or higher once USSP starts trading?
