crashtestsuperstar: You are certainly welcome to your personal preferences, and each individual investor has a different set of them, and will act accordingly. I only ask that my set of preferences not be ridiculed, as I would not ridicule anyone else's. The system I'm using is not strictly astrological, but a combination of numerology and astrology which I've been experimenting with since GTE was listed on the amex, and which have proven to be of value to me (and others who have observed them with me...pennypirate, for one, would concur) to the point which I would consider it to be a useful tool in addition to FA and TA. Of course it's not 100% correct, but it is considerably higher than 50% correct. It is a way of measuring the degree of probability/potential of an event or characteristic happening, and does not promise that such potential will definitely be fulfilled, but does work often enough with sometimes amazing accuracy, timing-wise, for me to find it very useful. Seems spooky, yes, I'll grant you that, but the apriori consideration is to use what works, whether or not one understands how or why it works.
Hey, no hard feelings...I understand that many people are immediately skeptical of such methods and their first reaction is to ridicule. Being skeptical is healthy, but remaining skeptical without trying something out to see for oneself whether or not it works with an open mind is not healthy, IMHO, and may deprive one of valuable tools.
I don't encourage belief or taking anything for granted, but I do encourage knowledge thru experiment, experience, and observation.
I enjoy your informational posts here, and thank you for your time in providing them.

Seems you were pretty quick to criticize me for my news forecast, but are slow to acknowledge the fact that it came true.

The latest news from ICS (when you could still see it a day or 2 ago) was from 2004, so something unknown at this point happened to ICS, and GlobeTel probably hasn't used their services since 2004, IMO. ICS was a private company looking to go public, so maybe they changed their name on going public, or they got acquired. Who knows? This may be a good question to ask Rob Bleckman.

Read this pdf to get a feel for Khoury's approach. I think the first step in the restructuring is consolidation. Khoury had to restructure his own company, ICS, so he is experienced in these matters, and I have full confidence in him and his abilities:

Customs and Border set to resume UAV patrols
10/17/06
By Alice Lipowicz
Staff Writer
U.S. Customs and Border Protection expects to have a Predator B unmanned aerial vehicle flying along the U.S.-Mexico border again in November, officials announced in a new report:
http://www.cbp.gov/linkhandler/cgov/border_security/air_marine/uas_program/uas_presentation.ctt/uas_...
It will mark the return to flight of the agency’s unmanned aircraft systems program following the April 24 crash of the first Predator B vehicle in the Arizona desert. A preliminary investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board sited error by the ground pilot navigating the UAV as the probable cause.
The Predator drones fly surveillance missions along the border to support patrol activities. From Oct. 2, 2005, to April 24, 2006, the Predator B flew 959 hours, and contributed to 2,309 arrests. The second Predator B was delivered to the border control agency, which is part of the Homeland Security Department, in September. This month, the agency is conducting what it described in the report as extensive testing and evaluation of the new aircraft.
For fiscal 2006, the President’s Emergency Supplemental added $45 million for the Predator B program. The fiscal 2007 Homeland Security Appropriations bill offers an additional $20 million, with four Predator Bs to be deployed in all.
Last week, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. of San Diego, maker of the Predator B, announced it had received a $33.9 million contract from Customs and Border Protection for two more Predator B aircraft, to be delivered in fall 2007. Each drone will be equipped with a camera system, ground control station, support equipment and logistics support, the company said.

design333: I was guessing his Sun as being on the Aquarius/Pisces cusp, therefore the mix of invention, knowledge/assumption, drift etc. If his Sun is not there, then the logical alternatives would be that several other planets are on that cusp, or his ascendant or mid-heaven are there, and strongly aspected.
Rhaps is close with amphibious...ambiguous would work as well. Seems like Vern doesn't want to answer your question...in that case, I probably nailed it.
The Corporate Governance page of the GlobeTel website is still missing, and it may be updated soon.
I haven't noticed any other changes on the GlobeTel website, except for the elimination of amex, and the replacement of otcbb.

vkoenig: "For someone who believes that planets passing through the signs of the zodiac governs their daily lives"
You mistakenly assume that I believe that. I don't. I'm not a believer. No good astrologer is, and none would agree with the statement above. I take nothing for granted. I experiment and try things without prejudice (in spite of potential ridicule), observe what works consistently, and use what works consistently.
"If he volutarily gave up his seat as CEO, why then did he also give up his seat as a director as well??? Explain that stargazer."
I would not assume to speak for Tim, nor would I assume an answer to that question, but I'm sure you would.
I would guess that you were born in mid-February, however, and that's just a guess based on my observations of you on this board.

vkoenig: Observe this:
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GlobeTel Communications Corp. (OTC:GTEM - News) today announced that Peter Khoury has been named interim Chief Executive Officer and a director, succeeding Timothy Huff, who resigned from both positions but remains with the Company through the transition period.
Tim resigned (active), yet, with this fact before you, you continue to assume and falsely state that Tim Huff was fired (passive). You can show no evidence of your assumption.
I suggest you re-check the validity of the variables in your truth-table.
nilremerlin
vkoenig: this is not the forum in which to debate the merits of astrology, so I won't do that here. It's a debate you would lose through experience, anyway.
I think you're assuming too much about GlobeTel and Bob Jones' future with them, and your assumptions and stretchings have no basis in evidence. The fact that we are not being updated on strat testing doesn't mean that testing is not taking place. I can wait for the company to inform me regarding the strat testing without assuming things about it. Can you not do this as well?
If not, then I can understand that you are being who you are, but I would not concede that you are being logical and scientific about it...and trying to impress me with your telescope does not obviate that opinion.

ken w: "Also, no more listings of BOD and Company members, at least I can't find them anymore."
That was the "Corporate Governance" web page, now missing as it is being updated. Yesterday, it still had the old info on it...I check it every day. Changes are in the works.
Thanks for your observations.

ken w: All the "future shows" that were listed are already in the past, and it's about time they cleaned up and updated the GlobeTel website. It appears they haven't cleaned up this "upcoming events" page yet:

I think we'll see some detailed news published on the Wednesday/Thursday cusp this week. JMHO.

The "transition period" is the time during which Huff "passes the baton" to Khoury, after which Khoury advances the ball down the field and Huff works on the sidelines (tech), doing what he does best, IMHO.
PS: I am informed via Mailman that the Peter Khoury in the travelblog that I posted is not our Peter Khoury.

LaForza Automobiles, Inc (OTC:LFZA) U.S. Sustainable Energy Corp., a Mississippi Corporation ("US Sustainable," "USSEC" or "the Company") (PINKSHEETS: LFZA), announced today an agreement with I.C. Thomasson Associates, Inc. ( www.icthomasson.com ) to build an organic fertilizer and biofuel production facility in Natchez, MS, and a 40 MW Green power generation facility in Vidalia, LA. Kelmer R. Smith, Jr. PE, CEM, CPP, President of I.C. Thomasson MS Operations, stated, "For the last several months, I have had the privilege of assisting USSEC in preparing a Basis of Design Document for their Natchez, MS, production plant as well as a feasibility study for their Vidalia, LA, power generation station. I have personally witnessed the production of the USSEC biofuels and have seen one formulation demonstrated as a 50/50 fuel in a variety of unmodified diesel engines and a second 100% formulation demonstrated in several gasoline engines. In my opinion, USSEC will produce the next generation biofuels with significant, positive socio-economic impacts. I.C. Thomasson Associates, Inc. is elated to be chosen as the design professional to assist USSEC in implementing this ground-breaking technology." Commenting further, USSEC's CEO John Rivera stated, "We are extremely pleased to partner with I.C. Thomasson. They have considerable specialized prime engineering experience covering a wide range of projects. These include industrial and institutional steam plants, central chilled water plants, cogeneration systems, utility distribution systems, distributed and standby power generation, process control systems, soybean processing facilities, edible oil refineries, environmental systems and related process type projects. By choosing USSEC's green power, homes, businesses, and governments support the development of cleaner forms of power generation and reduce their own environmental impact. And as more green power is developed, the overall environmental impacts associated with electricity generation will be reduced."

HealthSonix, Inc. (OTC: HSXI) (FRANKFURT: H7S) recently announced it has commenced a pilot study with patients currently enrolled in aquatic fitness classes who also experience pain associated with arthritis. Patients enrolled in the study were actively involved in recreational aqua-fit classes, but are obviously still in pain and suffering with lack of function. The participants are active and reasonably fit. The study is designed to measure the effectiveness of the AquaSonix Therapy compared to exercise alone, in reducing the pain and improving function. The trials will be conducted over an 8-week period. AquaSonix Therapy is a breakthrough medical treatment for people with pain, reduced mobility and diminishing flexibility. It's a therapeutic water program that combines sound pressure waves with individualized low impact exercises in warm water therapy pools. The proprietary sound pressure waves are believed to work by stimulating mechanoreceptors in the skin, which in turn communicate with the brain and block pain messages from getting through (gate control theory of pain); by creating an exercise effect in the muscles, which encourages the production and release of endorphins, the body's natural pain killers; and by increasing blood circulation.

Mr. Khoury stated, "I've been asked to come onboard during a difficult time in this Company's short history. I believe that Mr. Huff's aggregation of important technology and engineering expertise has given the Company a respectable base of intellectual property and talent. We are not starting from scratch, and there are key relationships the Company has built, but we have to have a better coordinated marketing plan, a more fluid flow of information from the business units to senior management, better adherence to schedules, and overall, a more unified sense of purpose as a company. We will work toward these objectives and implement the changes that are necessary to build a stronger, tighter organization that's able to compete in the global communications marketplace." Peter Khoury is the founding partner and former CEO of International Consulting Services, a global telecommunications practice focused on assisting companies with entering and effectively competing in an aggressive communications market. Mr. Khoury oversaw ICS's global operations and its business development practices. After graduating from the University of Sydney with an Honours degree in Chemical Engineering, Mr. Khoury obtained additional degrees in Computer Science and Business Administration. His career began as a Systems Engineer at IBM. He later joined companies Andersen Consulting and Digital Equipment, where he managed key assignments in the telecommunications, finance and insurance sectors in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Przemyslaw L. Kostro was first elected to the Company's Board of Directors in November 2001. From November 2001 to April 2002, he also served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Company prior to Mr. Huff's appointment. For the past six years, Mr. Kostro has been engaged in international business, and has been providing professional and consulting services to several public and private entities. He also currently serves as Chairman of Wafao S.A., a Polish software company, and as a director of Caterham Financial Management, a Malaysian company. Mr. Kostro stated, "There's no sense denying the Company is in quite a different situation than it was when I left last November. Today's GlobeTel has much work to do to restore confidence among our shareholders. It's counterproductive to assign blame to any one entity or person or event for the current state of the Company's stock price and low morale among our investor base. Coming back into the role as interim Chairman during this challenging time will mean I will focus on immediate opportunities and working with Senior Management on restructuring the Company in a way that best fits our resources and technologies. I will also focus in the next week on securing the necessary funding to underpin our plans to restructure the Company and complete key projects already underway. Given the nature of the situation, we will be communicating with our shareholders over the next several days and weeks as these changes take place."

squ1dk1d: Yahoo typically releases those abbreviated versions of financials about a month or two after the last quarter's official filing. Yahoo had already done this capsule rehash after GTE's Q2 filing, but since the move to GTEM.PK, wherein all former GTE news items (including MF trash) gets erased from the stock's news column on Yahoo's site, I guess Yahoo decided it was important to the investors in GTEM to know the rehash info. Nothing new, really.

A Golden Opportunity for WiMAX
By Bob Wallace
Posted on: 10/12/2006
In further proof of the technology’s traction outside the United States, Russia’s Golden Telecom Inc. announced plans to conduct a field trial of mobile WiMAX in Moscow as part of a longer-term plan to provide citizens and businesses with citywide access to high-speed services.
Golden Telecom, which has a presence in 20 cities across Russia, will evaluate mobile WiMAX systems from Nortel. The trial is due to be completed by the end of the year, according to a spokesman for the vendor.
The Golden Telecom trial will provide a connection speed range of between 1mbps and 25mbps per user. The operator chose the Nortel system in part because it uses MIMO antenna technology that’s capable of making the most efficient use of available spectrum.
“Moscow users are extremely sophisticated and will welcome the opportunity to use high-bandwidth services and applications wherever they roam,” said Dmitry Bragin, vice president at Golden Telecom, in a statement.
While mobile operators in the United States grapple with the issue, and potential expense, of upgrading existing base stations (BTS) to support WiMAX versus buying brand new ones, operators in emerging markets aren’t as concerned given the preponderance of terrestrial and satellite networks.
Mobile WiMAX is viewed as a means to serve metro areas efficiently, such as the Russian capitol where the population density of more than 9,000 per square kilometer justifies the installation of WiMAX BTSs and equipment with each BTS potentially serving hundreds of users or more.
“Emerging markets such as Russia are where all the action is for mobile WiMAX, where broadband access is scarce and it makes solid business sense to leapfrog terrestrial networks to high-speed wireless systems,” said John Mansell, senior analyst with Kagan Research in Great Falls, Va.
It is, however, hard to estimate when Golden Telecom would be prepared to begin providing commercial service using mobile WiMAX technology, said Mansell. “In the U.S., trials tend to take six months to a year, or longer, depending on whether they’re focused on the technology or on its marketing.”
Golden Telecom is a facilities-based provider of telecom and Internet services in major population areas throughout Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States. It offers services via an overlay network in cities including Kiev, Moscow, Nizhiny, Novgorod, Samara and St. Petersburg, to others via intercity fiber and satellite-based networks through a combined 287 access points.
“Offering a true broadband mobile experience in developing countries requires a very large network footprint,” said Monica Paolini of Senza Fili Consulting LLC, in Sammamish, Wash. That, she added, requires operators to focus on the different profiles of the business market, which offers higher profits, and of the residential markets, which promise higher revenue.
Operators in emerging markets such as Russia also must plan to use spectrum for backhaul purposes as their in-ground networks often are less robust bandwidth-wise than in the United States. Mobile operators here already are moving from T-1 and E-1 leased-line links to gigabit Ethernet landline connections, and high-speed wireless spectrum, to optimize performance and reduce operational costs in backhaul applications.
The Yankee Group has estimated that leased-line infrastructure represents between 6 percent and 12 percent of a typical service provider’s operational expenditures. Globally, the research and consulting firm claims this accounts for $22 billion in operational expenditures for wireless service providers.
Service providers here and abroad, including Sprint Nextel Corp., according to Mansell, also are paying close attention to WiMAX technology as a potentially efficient answer for wireless backhaul. The list of vendors already includes Alvarion, Aperto, Airspan, Cambridge, Motorola, Navini, Proxim and Redline.

WiMAX Forum Discusses Mobile WiMAX Coming Into Focus
By Tara Seals
Posted on: 10/12/2006
The mobile industry has a vision of delivering 4G services — consisting of personal broadband and a bubble of applications and content that a person carries around with them. Many players — including Sprint Nextel Corp. — have fingered the 802.16e mobile WiMAX standard as the likeliest basis to enable that vision.
The 802.16e version of WiMAX can offer both fixed and mobile access over the same infrastructure, opening the way for a new personal broadband service that gives users continuous broadband Internet access at home, at work and while they are on the move. Today, WiMAX Forum President and Chairman Ron Resnick will deliver a keynote address highlighting this capability, along with the many opportunities these services offer. At the same time, providers face challenges in accessing spectrum and educating subscribers, he noted; thus, his address will cover all sides of the issue for the mobile WiMAX ecosystem.
The first certified mobile WiMAX products are expected to be introduced into the market at the end of 2006 or in the first quarter of 2007 and will be followed in the second half of the year by equipment with multiple advanced antenna capabilities — MIMO and beamforming — for higher throughput and capacity, according to the WiMAX Forum. Widespread deployment could begin as early as next year, it says.
By 2010, there will be 15.4 million WiMAX subscribers worldwide, generating more than $16 billion in service revenue, according to Senza Fili Consulting. Of that, 57 percent of WiMAX subscribers will be using 802.16e.
According to a WiMAX Forum white paper, among the broad mix of service providers trialing or committed to deploying mobile WiMAX are wireline incumbents, 3G and 2G mobile operators, DSL and cable modem operators, CLECs, WISPs, greenfield operators and MVNOs. In addition, mobile WiMAX modules will be embedded into many data, consumer electronic and voice devices, including notebooks, PDAs, gaming consoles, MP3 players, cellular phones and smartphones, as well as devices for vertical applications, like CCTV cameras and in-vehicle subscriber stations.
However, mobile operators with 3G networks will not be the first to adopt WiMAX, according to Monica Paolini at Senza Fili. “New and established service providers that are eager to enter the mobility and portability market, but do not have cellular spectrum, will drive WiMAX adoption,” she says.
In addition to his WiMAX Forum duties, Resnick is director of industry programs for Intel Corp.’s Broadband Wireless Division. In June 2002, he launched and became general manager of Intel’s Broadband Wireless Access business startup, focused on wireless last-mile technology.
