eamonn here is a followup to your post on coverage....
http://www.sec.gov/litigation/admin/33-8524.htm
it seems that since Dec 2003 JM Dutton is now fully complying with disclosure requirements.
FWIW.....
eamonn could this case involve........................
a company called EasyLink Services? One of the directors of the company was William Donaldson. Seems like alot of potential backstabbing and politics was involved in this situation. Investrend comes up and, of course, it was during the election cycle....etc etc etc...
Very curious and strange and i think alot of sour grapes and potential backstabbing....
all of the above is just conjecture and IMHO, as always.
and so it goes.
a couple of notes on this Dutton coverage
first, we do not know for sure that we will be covered but it looks like it. Of the companies presenting on 4/5, Wave and Ampex Silver Mines are the ONLY two companies that are not currently on the coverage list. Why would Dutton allow Wave to present w/o picking up coverage? Doesn't make any sense to waste conf. time & energy on Wave without having coverage! So the will probably initiate coverage on 4/5.
Second, assuming Dutton initiates coverage we do not what rating the will initiate with. it is likely to be a speculative buy but we dont know.....needless to say.
Third, has anyone noticed that On Track Innovations (another co. Dutton covers)is seen as a competitor of Ingenico? My hunch is that the analyst who covers On Track will now cover Wave Sytems.
doma keV is in the DoD.
do u know what agency?
yeah, i know and agree w/ you. eom
flyer first, the sales staff needs to be totally
educated. then, John Doe gets the scoop. You don't want John Q Public calling up and learning that the Dell rep doesn't know what's going on. Wavoids calling up Dell are experiencing that right now.
Flyer..Because John/Jane Doe doesn't know TPM.............
from a 'hole in the wall'...so to speak. It's the Enterprise class Customer that wants the TPM (see Doma's earlier post tonight!)and benefits thereof. DELL COMPUTER listens to the enterprise customer and gives 'em what they want/need.
IMHO....................
doma..As Usual, GREAT FIND!!!!
wow...'at the customer's request'!
VERY VERY INTERESTING.....
i would guess the Dell Rep is referring to Enterprise Customers and we can reasonably assume that Enterprise Customers would want to ACTIVATE the TPM and USE THE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TPM SOFTWARE (aka Wave Systems)!
very very good find. Makes me feel more comfortable with my FY2005 numbers.
thanks
mark1 Yeah, that's about right.
Needless to say, it is a guessing game. But, I think these are fair numbers. Clearly, no one knows for sure because of the vagaries involved.
For the entire year FY2005, the low end should be around $5 million...give or take. The high end should be around double that figure...give or take.
Needless to say, FY2006 should be the tipping point year. If that transpires, then FY2007 should be OUTRAGEOUSLY BULLISH FOR SHAREHOLDERS. Of course, the market usually discounts these events about 6 to 9 months AHEAD of actuality.
mark1 It would be more prudent to view.....................
FY2005 as TWO PARTS OF A WHOLE. There is the FIRST HALF OF FY2005 and there is the SECOND HALF.
For the FIRST HALF I estimate about $1 million with about 2/3's of that coming in the SECOND QTR.
For the SECOND HALF I estimate anywhere from $4 Million to $8 Million with about 75% coming in the FOURTH QTR. In addition, the $8 million 2nd Half estimate is predicated on Wave Systems getting a couple of PUBLIC SECTOR CONTRACTS that are immediately bookable.
IMHO.........................
Here is a GREAT Overview Report by TCG! read here:

Let's put this DVD Jon outta business.
Chris Not ashamed to say that the article
is way over my head! still a 'lovely' article however. Hey....what do you think of this Sinosun TPM on the market now? Awk says it is close to the STM one. I think STM uses Wave/NTRU in their setup.
could be pretty important. China is a big market....needless to say.
thanks
Weby never mine I have your
email address. Thnx
Weby pls send me your
email...i can't pvt msg here. thanks.
Weby Nope...the relationship is
as sour as ever. Crazy! But who cares anyway. Say.....what do you think of this new Sinosun TPM offering? Doma says that it looks very much like the STM offering. If my memory serves, I think Wave/NTRU handle TPM management for STMicroelectronics.
thanks.
mark1 No. the bogus lawsuits came from an article.........
horribly written by a goofy reporter in the Mainstream Media (forgotten her name) who later changed her report when mistakes were highlighted.
the mainstream media is really having huge problems with their credibility...as we all know.
upside rite...Thanks for the reply.
Many here would take the exact opposite view....however.
thanks again.
OH! It's an old article but put on current edition...........
of MacNewsWorld.
Still good stuff.
sorry about that...................
OH MY GAWD!! Has everyone seen this?????
http://www.macnewsworld.com/story/31251.html
Sorry if posted already.
Geez...MacNewsWorld!!!!!!
THIS IS JUST TOO TOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bluzboy you are right./eom
bluzboy I read the Sinosun TPM pdf.
I don't see any WAVX stuff involved unless it is via a toolkit or CSP and/or both.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Sinosun use Wave technology via the CSP/toolkit products.
IMHO..................
unix u are a serious TIVO guy!
me thinks you have a Tivo agenda goin' on here. This is so ridiculous.
Wave Systems doesn't have anything against "tivo". If tivo was clever, then they would figure out how to team up with Wave Systems.
The big SHEEEESSSSHHHHHHHH......
ootommy I hope so but I don't see where it says..............
explicity that Dutton is gonna initiate coverage. All it says is that Wave Systems will present at the conference. Do we know FOR SURE that they are going to start coverage?
And will they start coverage with a "buy" rating?
who knows?
doma i think we should be listed under
Theft Protection too.....FWIW
hey keV, wanna answer my questions to you?
take your time. are things slow at the DoD? you sure have alot of time on your hands....it seems.
ditto/eom
keV who should I ask
regarding your agency? Are the Dell computers your 'agency' is buying including TPMs? Are you planning to activate those TPMs and, if so, then what software are you gonna use? Are you gonna take up Dell's recommendation to use Wave?
thank you for the specifics.
eamonn because this guy is all over
the Moderator here for sayin' something totally innocuous. Everyone knows what snackman was sayin' (reported revenues) and this guy was tryin' to turn it into something it wasn't.
that's why.
keV Oh, you had dinner with the IT guy!
Great. So, the DoD uses Dell Computer. WOW. That's new news. How does this specifically...repeat....specifically relate Wave Systems.
Since you are so intent (read your nice posts to the Moderator here!) on people backing up their facts/statement, I am STILL WAITING for you to back up your statements.
Dinner with the IT guy? gimme a break. Pls provide something a little more substantive.
Thanks.
keV we all know about NMCI.
been discussed here. Why don't you give us some specifics?
Time for you to back up your statements.
bowWave...No you don't get it at all!
With the market expanding as fast as it is, any serious investor will ALWAYS worry whether the supplier can get the product out there to meet the demand.
Frankly, i cannot think of a market out there that is EXPANDING as fast as Wave Systems market is. AND>>>>>>Wave Systems is the ONLY PURE PLAY ON THE TRUSTED COMPUTING DYNAMIC.
let me repeat (in case you didn't get it the first time!):
WAVE SYSTEMS IS THE ONLY....repeat....ONLY PURE PLAY ON THE TRUSTED COMPUTING GROWTH DYNAMIC!!!
so....anyone(Besides 'boneheads') would be wondering whether the key supplier of this phenomenon can keep up with the demand.
get it?
hawkshaw Let's try this again.
Hopefully, this communication gets thru w/o any 'problems'...if you know what i mean.
Troops? Wave Systems has about 100 employees. As has been clearly illustrated heretofore, the marketplace for Wave Systems products is EXPANDING at an exponential rate. Toward the very end of the 'unclevername transcript', you will read that the VAST MAJORITY of IT managers on the globe either do not realize that they are purchasing Trusted Computers (for example, IBM Thinkpads etc etc etc) or, if they do realize it, these same IT managers do NOT REALIZE that they do not have to purchase INSANELY EXPENSIVE USB tokens to accomplish their I.D. management needs. Rather, they can purchase Wave Systmes products to accomplish these goals at a FRACTION of the COST!!!
BUT....they do not know this. AND...many potential purchase orders have gone to other companies (RSA) because of this IGNORANCE.
The problem is that Wave Systems (with ONLY 100 employees!!!)does not have the Manpower to go out there DOOR-T0-DOOR to educate these tens of thousands of IT managers in Corporate America.
SO......what's the next BEST OPTION??????
Well, gee whiz. Guess what? Wave Systems goes out and seals a DEAL with Dell COMPUTER to do the Door-to-Door. This is a GOOD THING. WHY? Because Dell has the MANPOWER to go out there "Door-to-Door" and educate all these IT Managers about what is going out there in the Digital Security Space. It is good for Dell because it makes Dell look like they are out there ahead of the curve.....and it is GOOD for Wave Systems because they don't have the personnel or financial resources to do it on their own.
So you ask about TROOPS? The answer is: Yes, we are enlisting the TROOPS...via Dell Computer, Intel Corporation, STMicroelectronics and so on.
I hope this makes some sense. If it doesn't, then pls ask the Moderator for further explanation.
Thank you for your interest in Wave Systems.
hawkshaw My dear fellow.........
pls pay attention. SKS has enlisted Dell Computer to accomplish the 'door-to-door' function. Very smart. Very wise.
Then, we have Seagate. AND....then INTEL.
next up.....MR. SOFTEE!!!!
come on. smell the JAVA, dude!!
heh heh heh...
OTOT: I envision Wave Systems accomplishing..................
what ADBE has achieved over the years. Did you see the after hours earnings?
Hey, ADBE is a Dell Partner and a MSFT Partner! And Wave Systems is going in that direction....
keep the faith.
cliffdweller Only he who attempts the absurd
is capable of achieving the Impossible.
-Miguel Unamuno
This could be a Wave Motto.
P.S. maybe i should start a Quote Corner on the board so that we have some Balance here.
what does everyone think of this idea?
go-kite Thanks. That helps.
Doesn't sound like too big a problem. It's not like Wave Systems is manufacturing tractors or bulldozers or the like.
Yet, if the marketplace EXPLODES over a relatively small timeframe, then Wave Systems better be prepared to deliver the 'goods'.
Pickle Who is John Feeney?
I thought Envoy was goin' to partly handle the govt market?
thanx
gokite Could you help me out with this thought?
I agree with you that Wave System's market is going to grow very dramatically over the next couple of years.
Will Wave Systems have any issue in cranking out product to meet the demand?
This is the flipside of our prior problem. Our past 'problem' was 'NO MARKET'.....or no market to sell into. Now we have this rapidly expanding marketplace setting up before our eyes!
Will we be able to produce enough kits fast enough to meet the demand?
What is your feeling here?
thanks in advance.
Chris OK...it is sorta interesting.
I'll give you that much anyway.
Let me tell ya what I thought was the MOST IMPORTANT (or at least one of the most important) part of the presentation yesterday.
It is when SKS says that our revenues will accelerate when those IT managers understand that they don't have to purchase those USB tokens (at HUGE expense) because they already own Trusted Computers via their ownership of, let's say, IBM Thinkpads etc etc etc.
SKS says this right at the end of the transcript. This is a challenge that Wave Systems has right now. First, IT managers don't know they have Trusted Computers in the first place. Secondly, even if they realize they have Trusted Computers, then they don't realize that there are tools out there that can accomplishe their identity management issues without having to spend a FORTUNE on these darn USB tokens! So, it is a matter of educating/selling to these IT managers. AND....the best way to do it is via Dell Computer because you have scale and Leverage. Can you imagine if Wave Systems had to go door-to-door trying to educate all these IT folks? It would take DECADES!!!!!!
So....once these IT folks get the picture then I think you will see revenues start accelerating.
THIS IS A BIG ISSUE.
Oh yeah....I do think ENDAVO...or whatever you call it....is COOL. Trust me....
best regards to you too!
P.S. The "sheesh" thing belongs to me. Pls call me if you want to set up a licensing agreement.
