"The key here, is that by staying ahead of demand changes, we’re giving ourselves the optionality to react most efficiently to whichever way the market moves in the next year."
Does anyone really use the word Operationality? LOL Not likely in the AG business.
A lie? I don't even know what it says

"Doctor" Robert Lorsch LOL
I've always dispensed two central pieces of advice: 1) Read Prof Ben Graham's "The Intelligent Investor;" 2) Stick mostly with large cap Index funds. Plus the caveat that the best investing is often S L O W and boring. It's the opposite of Vegas.
Years ago I'd link to some of the best academic research on investing. Much of it from billionaires, But nothing I posted spoke of instant wealth in the manner of Vegas or a lottery. But generally sound and sensible information. Methods I've used and my kids too. Advice that works!
Almost no IHuber wants to become a smarter investor if that takes a little time and effort. I've pretty much stopped updating my board on that subject.
https://investorshub.advfn.com/Newbies-Investing-Questions-5028
I keep that old board, but mostly for my own use. No one here reads it. I post a lot less than years ago. Ihub is all about gambling. That's not what I do.
Only gambling addicts "Swing Trade." It's not a legitimate way to make money investing in stocks. An addict's fantasy.
I've never heard a prudent investor use that term. For instance, there's no such thing as a Vanguard Swing Trading Fund or a Fidelity Swing Trade ETF.
I never heard Buffett or Munger mention swing trading, except perhaps in reference to "investing gamification" which Munger hated.

You know what IHUB thinks of their users from the rubbish ads they sell on this site.
Fun watching IHUB's last days as broad indexes crush records
Wrong: "Boeing deep down is a defense company." Boeing profits come from civilian aircraft, like the 737s. The military planes aren't very profitable.
BRK cash $199 B at this moment. Maybe a Trillion in borrowing power. no one pays less than BRK
Nothing sells insurance like a catastrophe. Insurors will have a bad Q or two, and then party on.
Berkshire reveals mystery position: $6.7B stake in Insuror Chubb. Chubb stock jumped in after-hours trading, adding as much as 9.9%. Chubb insured Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed when a cargo ship slammed into it in late March. It’s reportedly set to pay out $350 million to the state of Maryland.
"Americans can’t stop ‘spaving’ — here’s how to avoid this financial trap."
My wife is guilty of this..The term was new to me.
"Spending more to save more is an all-too-common pitfall.
The opportunities for so-called spaving are nearly everywhere, whether it’s the lure of a “limited-time deal” or “buy one, get one free” or tacking on additional items to get a bigger discount or simply to reach the free shipping threshold."

My favorite rubbish stock -- KOSS -- is up 17%. But plenty of quality issues are up too. S&P is close to its ATH. EVs are strong.
"BRK was a cigar butt with Zero puffs left."
Gotta run. Thanks.
Ha! I just spent SEVERAL HOURS listening to that "teaser" podcast. Gracias!
I knew much of that circa 1950 Buffett/Ben Graham stuff but not nearly all. Fills in a lot of the blank space in Buffett's life. How he made his first million or two:

Thanks Davidsson. I've read almost everything Munger's said in recent years but not that. I suppose it was too long for me at the time. But I just read it all, and some sections twice. The portion covering Charlie's surprising BYD holding is gold. Learned a lot about his love of Costco too.
And I'll get to "Bonus Buffet/Berkshire" later. But probably not on Mother's Day. LOL.

In some 3rd world countries "pilots" can have counterfeit licenses, and almost no training. All it takes is a bribe in some places.
Facts: "Commercial aviation is one of the safest forms of travel in the United States. Commercial air carriers have not had a fatal crash since 2019."
"In the past 10 years, only 14 passengers have died in crashes on commercial flights. In 2021, the most recent year with full statistics, U.S. carriers flew 15.9 million hours with 0 deaths and 14 serious injuries."

Meanwhile virtually every major stock index continues inching northward. Large cap, medium cap and even smaller caps. "Smart investing is usually boring.".

Meet Ben F orgers (we wish we were making this up)"

The founder of the accounting firm hired by Donald Trump’s social media group has used 14 variations of his name in filings with the industry regulator, far more than any other US auditor, according to a review of public documents.
Ben F Borgers, whose accountancy firm BF Borgers inspects the finances of Trump Media & Technology Group, has filed Form APs to the US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board using the names Ben F Brogers, Blake F Borgers, Ben F Vonesh and Ben F orgers, among 10 others — some of which look like simple spelling mistakes — according to Public Company Accounting Oversight Board data."

"Huge shortage of PCAOB registered auditors?" The kinds of quality issues I buy never have problems finding highly credentialed CPAs. The Big Four firms are always competing among themselves
My own standards are far beyond the bare minimum. All of my stocks are audited by Big Fours. Minimum market size:~$10 billion. Usually NYSE listed. Never startups.

"In its 2022 PCAOB inspection report published in November, all 11 of BF Borgers’ audits inspected included deficiencies. The firm has received mainstream attention this year as the auditor of former President Donald Trump’s media company.

Real wide-sweeping DD indeed. I constantly encounter that junk operation. How many times have I said, Always start with the CPA firm.
"Auditor BF Borgers was suspended and prohibited from practicing by the SEC today, effective immediately. They have over 300 SEC registered clients and over 20 broker/dealer clients. This is massive."
Another example of why I never buy stocks for fat dividends. Prefer those that pay durable "market rate" payouts of around 1%-3%. Index funds sill doing well and paying nicely,
Strange that t LEG was still increasing its dividend until recently. They do a lot of business in auto interiors. including EV interiors. That surely hasn't gone well lately.
One thing hasn't changed, my belief that 90+% of investors would do better sitting tight in low cost index funds and ignoring fads and headlines.
"Leggett (LEG) Lags on Q1 Earnings & Sales, Cuts Dividend by 89%." Been trimming my Leg holding for ages. Once about my largest holding several decades ago.
"Leggett significantly reduced its second-quarter dividend to 5 cents from the prior-year figure of 46 cents. The company noted that the move has been undertaken to free up capital to accelerate the deleveraging of its balance sheet and solidify long-held financial strength. The dividend will be paid on Jul 15, 2024, to shareholders of record on Jun 14.
