IMO, the engine is the modulator in chip format which can be easily integrated onto a functioning pluggable or on board transceiver. Just Google the top 10 transceiver manufacturers and you get an idea of the magnitude, scale and potential impact this may have in the multi billion transceiver market.
Since you are making up your own statements , let me give you my most realistic prediction. Upon approval of the merger the share price will start to move up. Starting point a market-cap of 600 million ( that’s what Mark Smith dropped as a real possibility). The value of this company in production can easily command a market cap 10 billion , PE of 20 times Net Earnings. Since we will need three years to get to production the market will discount the full potential with 65% to 35% of the full value or 3 to 4 billion at 60 million shares that will be between 50 and 60 dollars per share after R/S. ( comparable with current of 5 or 6 dollar per share). That’s a 700 to 750% appreciation from today’s price. Good enough for me!
Putz, the share price is not going anywhere because nobody is buying and most here retail longs ( as far as I understand) are loaded with shares. We need many new buyers to move the price up. As for your frustrations. I imagine your expectations were pretty high and now you feel let down. I am not a pumper, but I still believe very much that this is a great investment and I agree with some of the newcomers. In fact I am very happy with new shareholders. I hope many more will join.
I am an account holder in this particular bank for years. So your assumption that they don’t trust me is incorrect. Just stating a fact which is that a Nasdaq listing would trigger an approval for the transfer of my shares. I recommend you calm down. Not sure why you are so angry off late!
I have been trying to move my shares in Niocorp ( TMX: NB) from an on line platform to a top notch private banking outfit. The transfer was refused due to the fact that Niocorp is still considered a risky OTC share. The TMX listing is not enough. In other words Nasdaq listing is a pre-requisite for some of the Tier 1 banks here in Europe to accept and trade in Niocorp shares ( NB and NIOBF). Apparently some of my Canadian friends don’t know this. I am looking forward to a Nasdaq listing when banks, institutions and index funds will be allowed to trade in Niocorp.
Bit disappointed by the mood on this board off late. In my opinion we are sitting on a sleepy volcano which will erupt if we join the Nasdaq. Be aware that joining Nasdaq will mean that at least 50% of all outstanding shares will change ownership. 50% is a pretty average institutional ownership, often it’s higher. The majority of those shares will need to come from nervous retail investors that want to cash ( too early) and forego any major share appreciation.
That’s what you get if you hold your own truth as the only truth in the universe.
This is it. Thanks.
Lightwave delivered material, devices and technical know how & assistance for SilOrix to deliver their world record speed performance. I assume as a start up SilOrix may lack the needed funds to pay cash on delivery. I could imagine that LWLG gave them a credit line of € 600.000 due for payment in March 2023 ( or convertible into an ownership slice in SilOrix). Not sure if this should have been recorded as Lightwave revenue? I am a bit bewildered. Hopefully we get clarification soon.
I know that Lebby was very enthusiastic about the post event ECOC paper which SilOrix and Lightwave were able to get accepted. A post event paper is only accepted if it delivers an exceptional, in this case world record, breakthrough or performance. Getting a post event paper accepted in the academic world is really top notch and lifting eyebrows and gets attention.
The combined enterprise value will 313 million plus a 285 million cash.position. The marketcap of the two companies added together today in US$ is 225 Niocorp and US$ 305 million GXII. The marketcap of the merged company is everybody's guess at this time. Given similar companies and using a PE ratio similar to Molycorp- MP of 22 could bring a Nasdaq marketcap of 22 times projected net earnings for Niocorp.
Without GXII no future earnings, no share value, just dreams.
ok. Deleted it. I was just thinking that this was interesting since Lebby is nibbling at the shelf to prepare commercialisation. Frank would certainly be interested to take a bite in my opinion.
Nice to see Frank Levinson and Michael Lebby know each other and have been spotted in Basel. Franks' venture capital company focusses on advanced materials and photonics. Get it? Frank has a history in fiber optics and was the founder of Finisar, now a successful company in fiber optic components. His success mantra : a business is about customers ( not technology), in technology revenue growth rates should be around 30-40% per year for me to be interested, venture capital is a partnership not just provider of capital. .
Saw an interesting presentation from NVIDIA on its Artificial Intelligence Engines. Spectacular stuff about how to make this AI robots learn and work. Really cutting edge. NVIDIA presenter Henning Lysdal VP Engineering told the PIC summit crowd: biggest current hurdle, problem to move forward the slow speed of current transceivers. Too many, too slow. Needs a universal platform faster, lower power and easy to integrate into current digital design and pdk tools.
Be aware that USA has 93% marketshare in transceivers ( 53% manufacturing share) and that US companies are confronted with increasing electricity bills. You get it, what is ubiquitous, power efficient and fast? What can be easily integrated in current EDA and PDK tools. You got it: LWLG.
My sincere condolences to you and your family Chico.
Interesting to be able to read what process, effort and time was spent to get the deal concluded. Thinking about all the cheap shots of criticism which were expressed here. Great effort, great potential. Happy I discovered Niocorp long time ago,
Did convey X’s suggestion on LWLG LiDAR Company. Suggestion was well understood. No further comment.
Been interesting days here at the PIC summit in Europe. Pure play indium or pure play silicon nitride or any other material e.g. barium nitride will all not going to make it on their own. It’s going to be a mixed bag of technologies: heterogeneous or hybrid. Definition not clear to everyone. LWLG is just the real thing. It hits all the boxes from a customer perspective. I can tell you that I met people in the conference from other “material religions” , who privately told me they own Lightwave shares. The experts know! The top Dutch business representatives from photonics were all clear: we need to mix and match technologies to move forward. Dutch government fund for photonics around 1.1 billion euros. My personal take: European photonics industry is very fragmented, still small. The push for fast transceivers will come from the US. Understood from Lebby that shelf is being used discretely. I see that as very positive since LWLG statements in the past told us that the shelf would be used to fund the commercialization. By the way timelines are still timelines.
Th is an exquisite gentlemen of 88 years old. A successful self made business man, many many times a millionaire. He has been on the Lightwave board for many years and he was always been honest and straightforward and he put his money where his mouth was. He one of the biggest retail shareholders in Lightwave.
Yes, he came here on board and probably wasn’t aware of the long time sensibilities between the various messengers, nor could he have understood who was who and so he jumped in and was immediately embraced by our ‘ bad guys’. The long and loyal long time investors here were probably taken aback by his unconventional approach and initially held off. Personally I saw another Th as well to my surprise.
Nevertheless Th understood immediately where there was low hanging fruit and he took it. Bravo. As I said before : Th don’t get angry and keep your remaining Niocorp shares, don’t punish these guys here for their ignorance or bad behaviour by selling them in one go! See you back soon.
Xena I need to admit that “ this is nuts” doesn’t really catch me. I see your reporting but can’t really draw any conclusions. I see blocks of thousand and more ( there is no heading) but why is that nuts? Would you like to share your take away?
I am always in for a venture with a ‘ guaranteed’ success. Interesting suggestion.
It was not my idea to give investment advice. I am not qualified to do so. Just pointing out that Lightwave’s business would nicely fit into DuPont’s portfolio. You could think of trading relationships or even more! Guess for us LWLG shareholders better to stay independent.
Monday I will be attending the PIC summit during the day and Lebby’s session in the afternoon. In the evening Michael Lebby will be attending a special diner party with a number of his long time supporters . Looking forward to some interesting days.
The recent meeting at DuPont’s HQ kind of reminded me of the many personal links between some of Lightwave’s board members ( former DuPont execs). Lightwave was given some existing DuPont polymer patents free of charge in 2016 to complement its own. With electronics more and more moving towards chemistry and organic materials DuPont is certainly an interesting company to watch.
You are absolutely right. That's why cooperation of the other main photonics platforms with Lightwave will give everybody immediate competitive advantage in speed and power consumption. A win win strategy.
Those who don't grab the opportunity will bite the dust.
The small agile innovators will move first ( Polariton, KIT) than the runners up in semi conductor industry ( Global Foundries) and the more strategic thinking Asians.
I bet Intel and IBM will take their time to jump over their own magnificent shadow.JMHO
Our 'engineering' experts are trying to get discussions back to 2016 and to start to discuss reliability. Reliability and now yield again, as if the company just started its operation. Get over it. First of all this is an investment site, secondly Lightwave passed these operational stages long ago and can show world class performance on all quality & performance parameters. Nothing else would be good enough and Lightwave is fully aware of this ! Nobody would engage with the company if this would not be the case. In fact, world class leaders gather world class people and performers around them. Mediocrity is not acceptable. Look at the bio's of Lightwave's Board and advisors. 'Nough said.
Anyway, if Lebby claims yields are extremely high, industry experts know that means 98% to 100%. If he can show 1000 devices after final assembly, it means volume production is next.
Please realise that Lightwave is using existing silicon photonics PDK’s. Existing methods, processes and tools in an existing and well understood environment. Nothing new there. New is the addition of Lightwave polymer material in the fabrication of PIC’s and the new PDK’s including the application of polymers. Understand that our material is completely compatible with CMOS fabrication. No expensive tooling, no added complexity, no major reliability risks
EUV lithography ( pretty ‘exclusive’ to the big foundries: TSMC, Samsung, Intel) uses single patterns for 5 and 7 nm and needs double patterning for 5nm using EUV light thru glass or using mirroring to etch into alternating 40/50 layers of silicon or molybdenum. Why so much detail? Because polymers are very compatible with this process of process layering ‘ spraying in onto the silicon’. In fact Lebby confirmed lithography process compatibility a few times already. Why is this important? The biggest foundries in the world use it!
Maybe just coincidence but there are about 2500 designers, technicians, engineers attending the TSMC OIP Innovation Forum Conference 2022 on the 8 November in the Hilton in Amsterdam. https://www.tsmc.com/static/english/campaign/oip2022/index.htm
If I am not mistaken, that's the hotel where Lebby will spend the night from 7 onto 8 November as well. Just saying..
Would be nice if an announcement came this week. It would certainly be a nice reality check for all luminaries, academics and company leaderships attending the PIC Summit Meeting. Might in fact speed up things a bit and speed, light speed and solutions is what we need. NOW according to Industry spokesmen.
Been preparing myself for Mondays PIC Summit. Been looking at the indium phoshide and silicon photonics eco systems, product development and the various upcoming PIC markets ( a.o. sensoring in medical, agro business, data and telecom 6G, lidar etc) since the majority of participants are using one of these fast switching light platforms. Industry and government ambitions remain sky high when in especially in Europe we don't have the required engineering talent to realise all these ambitions short term. But we have allocated 43 Billion to the Chips Industry. Industry PPA's ( performance, power, area) themselves remain ambitious without due regard for rising product complexity, rising power consumption or for that matter manufacturability in foundries, let alone capital requirements. Execution requires industry cooperation and organisation at all levels . My humble 40 years experience in corporatism and capitalism tells me : GOOD LUCK. I see these kind of coop/ constructions as an admission and rescue of last resort. Too slow to be effective,
I realize all of this whilst preparing WHILST AT THE SAME TIME two silicon foundries with standard CMOS fabrication, no extra tools ( capex) with extremely high yields will be ready to manufacture in volume with Lightwave Logic slot modulators solving P ( world record 100-170Ghz channel speed), low Vpi, HIGH r33. WORLD RECORD PERFORMANCE, P: LOWEST POWER CONSUMPTION EVER, A: 120 MODULATORS IN AN AREA WHERE TODAY IS one
Good Luck. Still attending.
Thanks for taking the effort. Much appreciated. New Niocorp figures will be ready in a few months including REE’s . Today’s figures are from 2019 . A lot has changed. Niocorp adds processing to its capabilities ( higher asset base) but would however deserve a higher multiple since the net income will potentially be higher ( and not discounted) due to a competitive value advantage over the other two in an increasing
“ suppliers” market ( demand outstripping supply). Niocorp will benefit from US tax incentives, not sure the other two will in their operations and for its customer base.
MDK, don’t read too much in ‘our partner’.Photon Delta is a Dutch photonics association of academia and the photonics industry. I would say Michael Lebby was instrumental in Photondelta’s start up phase by clearly helping to define its role, he was the godfather( 2016) of the ISPR roadmaps ( industry photonics roadmaps) an initiative which is still very much alive today, Michael also helped many Photondelta members with his advice and many will be grateful to him for the European funding they received through him as expert advisor on photonics to the European Community in Brussels. Many know Michael Lebby very well and consider him a true partner in that sense in helping them with advice and concrete support.
Yes, I heard that Richard. Should not be too difficult to find contenders for the shelf for a total of roughly 12 million shares at current prices. I know some here who would love to put their hands around those, some may even have counted on it. An additional 100 million cash would go a long way. Wonder how they will time this!
To be correct IBM is looking at AI to manage the performance and power trade off. But you are right, the incumbent semi conductor industry is trying to achieve it the old fashioned way by cutting costs whilst LWLG offers < 1V and 10x performance through innovation.
Got that part Th. I respect your position. I assumed you came here in the first place for the long term investment opportunity, the warrants came along as a nice and complementary opportunity to manage your overall investment risk. Now I see your selling all your shares and you have made these warrants your main thrust.
Th, I see your “opportunistic” reasoning now that these warrants happen to come falling from the sky. Your call. Wonder now why you came here in the first place ? Can you spread your dumping a bit?
With REE’s the project could be even more profitable than currently projected in the third party expert endorsed and written bankable feasibility study from 2019!
Without getting too euphoric, it’s clear we have winner here. Many have kept this company going for many years at the cost of time, money and effort. Some have made exceptional contributions to this board and are doing this still today. Some are now venting their frustration. What I can see from the questions and answers many because they miss the knowledge to make sound business decisions. That’s ok as long as you understand your shortcomings and ask. There are a few who need to get out of the dark hole they are digging for themselves jump into a helicopter and survey the business perspective: it’s huge and it will be discovered by big money. Wish everybody the best. Now is the time!
That’s pretty conservative. I would hope there are still enough retail investors looking for a bargain, especially since rare earth will continue to get media attention as part of geo politics and the electrification of cars. In Europa only electro cars are allowed to be sold as new car from 2035 onwards. That’s a pretty tough decision given Europe’s current battery and lithium dependence on China.
MP’s currently ‘ depressed’ price earnings ratio of 23 is a good indication of the market attractiveness for rare earth mining ( compare gold mining at 12.9).
Yes Walter, with all its potential and untapped potential Niocorp’s market cap based on MP’s current P/E ratio of 23 could be spectacular. 500 -600 million EBITDA translates into 11 to 13 Billion market cap in full operation. 30- 35% in the development phase of that next year would be nice! I remain super positive.
Well what about an organic uplist than. We just experienced one ( other OTC company) and we went from 4 dollar to 20 dollar. Organic uplifts are pretty unique. The 20 dollar was shorted down to 6 dollars because the institutions and index funds were not part of the uplist process. It’s either organic or through a reverse split and get the institutions in. I do appreciate everyone’s forecasting capabilities. Consensus seems a 10 to 1 split here. Impressive or depressive?
Grunt, apart from a handful of messengers, most here have understood that. Been long enough in Biotech to understand how reverse spits can turn nasty and negative for pre revenue companies. This however is completely different: it opens new opportunities for vast number of institutions and index funds and the new Nasdaq entity will do that with a very solid business case, a very experienced management team and more than 300 million in cash. It’s not going to be better than this IMO! Love it and I am very happy!!! STILL.
