Technicals like that work really well in a bull market, but in a bear, they tend to lead to lots of pop and drop activity.
I actually think it is better to depend on solid fundamentals at this point.
Maybe someone can help me on this. I am not sure that La Salle holds any actual voting rights, which might mean that the guy who filed that 13g has almost 25% of the voting rights. Correct me if I am wrong.
Dundoodit is actually correct about something. If nobody wants to stick their neck out for the easy more secured La Salle money, then why would they buy this one?
I mean really? La Salle has the liquidation preference that is still valued at around $15. If the reserves were used to pay them off, there would still be about $200 million or more left in reserves without even dipping into 4444, according to some of the info that is available.
Keep an eye on GWOW. I am starting a bidding war. The DD skirmish is starting.
Gentleman start your search engines.
I don't know. Are you sure you have the right company? The banking industry has some pretty rigorous standards for CUSIP numbers, and Thomson Financial is a pretty reputable firm for reporting.
I figure the only one way to fix the problem: INVADE CANADA!
How about we just have a bidding war?
You are certainly correct about nobody wanting to give up their shares.
I wish I could afford more shares myself, but I figure I will trade my way into some. I picked up the slack on GWOW last week, and I am trying to wake up Soros. I doubt anyone will put two and two together until I spell it out. I don't want to make any less than double on it, so I guess the low hanging fruit is already gone.
They seem to keep resupplying, but if they are only offering the ones I sold them last week, you could be right. We are waiting for someone to make a move, and in a bear market, you know what I figure the move will be. Somebody is bound to be strapped for cash and have hungry kids to feed.
Today's sales bought somebody a few cheeseburgers, and the rent is due.
It's hard to imagine a stock where the Ibox is so out of touch with reality.
Looks like she's starting to pull back. I am guessing to about .012 to .020 without a news release. She could fly on good news with that book value.
It would be more interesting if management actually decided to execute a business plan. Waiting for a merger partner can take a long time.
That's easy. They just pay all of the "public debts" and meet the regulatory requirements of insurance reserves that took them into siezure in the first place.
A Bermuda "winding up" can end as a liquidation similar to a US Chapter 7, or it can wind up as a reorganized entity similar to US Chapter 11. It depends on the decision of the JPL, and the parameters above. Nothing more but a stamp of approval from a Judge in Bermuda is required.
From what I have seen, this company is more than solvent based on standard industry practice, and are just waiting for the paperwork to catch up. JMHO.
I haven't seen any debt but intercompany paper, aside from runoff obligations and liabilities. If the runoff reserves have been capable of writing in Syndicate 4444, then why are they not solvent?
If they drop the Q, they can hire a CEO to go to Washington for bailout funds. Wooo hooo!!!
That looks like a nice net-net play, but why did they lose 83 cents a share in the first half of last year? I know I should read more of the filings, but if you know anything, it will save me some time. Wish I had money. I have lots of time.
Today's close marked at 10 cents?
What's up wit dat?
I added 20K at .005.
Maybe I can get more for cheaper if you don't take them all. Have to wait until manana, senor.
What I see is a market where all of the banks and investment bankers are going broke, and the computers are running without any operators. Research departments have been cut to bare bones, and the whole market is like a chicken running around without a head. Take no prisoners.
It is decent. I hope they hit my AON GTC on the way down. I was at .006 forever.
I am surprised it broke.
There should be plenty of salvagable material from the hurricanes. I just wonder if any is profitable.
Good afternoon Wall Street. Is everybody hung-over from the MLK Day festivities?
Are we still going to the moon?
Someody is actually awake?
I came from the TWKGQ board. They seem to be resting this morning.
Good morning PAB's
What is a Cusip number?
"CUSIP stands for Committee on Uniform Securities Identification Procedures. A CUSIP number identifies most securities, including: stocks of all registered U.S. and Canadian companies, and U.S. government and municipal bonds. The CUSIP system—owned by the American Bankers Association and operated by Standard & Poor’s—facilitates the clearing and settlement process of securities.
The number consists of nine characters (including letters and numbers) that uniquely identify a company or issuer and the type of security. A similar system is used to identify foreign securities (CUSIP International Numbering System)."

I don't know why, but the comments are always funnier when they are directed at people who aren't here to defend themselves, and concievably inanimate, like the MM's and various other Wall Street entities. As soon as we start jousting with each other, the tempers flare and the message board degrades.
IMO, the Obama administration is going to be good for lots of humorous moments, so keep your eyes open.
Don't get me wrong, I do see very positive fundamentals in this stock. I also see the fact that most of the investment houses have fired their research staff, or are running it as a skeleton of it's former glory. For them to find the value here would be like finding a needle in a haystack while you were feeding the cows.
I see a bear market and MM's tripping over portions of their anatomy to get out of the market. I can't see any relief in this market.
Didn't Warren originally parlay insurance reserves into an investment powerhouse? I understand that well invested reserves are what makes the difference between a successful operation and a catastrophic casualty waiting to happen.
I can almost guarantee that it doesn't carry enough information to violate reg FD and put them behind bars.
Maybe they are trying to make a buck by putting some spin on the 13g filings.
Maybe they have an exclusive interview, and are billing him as the next "Warren Buffet?"
If growing up means it will be
beneath my dignity to climb a tree
I won't grow up.
Not me!
I am still waiting for Tinker Bell to wave her magic wand at the USPTO. Numbers. I need numbers. I have tinkered my way to an inventive finale.
I have been looking for investors on the boards for a while. I find a lot of traders, and wanna be Market Makers. I don't find many who have read "Benjamin Graham" or know what a "Special Situation" might be.
You guys are noting classic early depression signals. Nobody buys in a bear market. Stock certs end up in dumpsters in depressions.
The story of how the Eastman fortune came out of the great depression is a very interesting one. I think of the "Witch of Wall Street" from time to time.
I made sure they don't get any. First ut was them. Second was me.
Somebody said they were bidding .015, and not getting filled. I am not making that claim. I am disputing it.
Almost time. Hang in there guys. We might have another bird incident, but there is a heroic captain aboard now.
I have a feeling I could drop the bid under a penny by selling 40,000 at market.
I know what will happen, they will get the shares you bought yesterday and are scrambling to sell today. Sell them back to me at .005 next week. Ok?
I don't think it is the broker.
It is a common internet ID-ten-T
ID10T
If anybody tries, and is unsuccessful, we will be locked and crossed pending investigation.
I suppose it could be true. The banking crisis has put way too many computers on overdrive without a single person to operate them. Transfer agents are broken, and so are MM's.
Only one problem with the story. Settlement isn't for three days. They don't need the shares.
MY BS indicator is reading about 80% right now.
It s possible for a 13 year old to operate a computer, and it is possible for someone older to act like a 13 year old.
If I was the moderator, I would suspect the poster, not the broker. I think there might be a problem with the chair/keyboard interface. It could also be the ID-ten-T interface.
The internet has a big problem with ID-ten-T providers.
Maybe your broker screwed up the routing. Verify the symbol. Check your zeroes.
I wasn't even able to buy at the ask. I had to push it higher.
Buy at the ask, and they give you 10,000 shares and make you pay commision.
Hiding?
Did you put AON? Those always hide.
