Da Devan Dolla: Now that I lost 2K on the poker tables!!! What nthe hell do you think about the Dell / Phillips announcement???
Yeah Yeah.... Table 315R. Hurry.
Da Devan: A little Texas holdem?? I'm logging on....
2B: Count me in on purchasing an Ipod upon your return! Jeff
Snack: I completely agree!!! And who cares who gets the credit as long as many of us Wavoids are well retired to our dreams? I dont remember who posted their opinion years ago that Wave will be likened unto a 3M.... The company behind the scenes that made products work better! I dont think your forecasts are very far off Snack. jeff
Barge: I completely agree! I also believe the fact that ALL developers wishing to write trusted applications to interoperate within that "trusted grid" have to write their trusted applications through Wave's CSP signifies: "That was the original "applet" business plan of WAVE ever since the 10/98 HP/WAVE Trusted Client Embassy Agreement. And that plan remains in effect!!!'. IMO
Buffett: Intiendo. I understand. I still think the PR will read:
Dell signs $? contract with the FBI, CIA, NSA to provide hardware, managed services and software packaging services.
The contract is spread out over ? years. The FBI, CIA, NSA will purchase Dell OptiPlex desktops, Latitude notebooks and Precision workstations. The services contract covers more than ? seats. It already is under way.
Public or private... No difference IMO. Unless it involves direct services or training from Wave IMO.See Da Devan Dolla posts. Jeff
2B: What a tremendous loss to the Wavoid community! I hope you will reconsider! I have found your contributions to this forum over the years inspiring and faith promoting. Take a break but please reconsider. Jeff
Zen: Would it? Wouldn't the actual material event for Wave take place in accordance with how many seats turned on ETS Dell 1.0? When would that material event take place? I believe Wave will benefit from the "after effects" of many of the deals made between OEM's and customers. Why would Wave want to publicize third party attestation for example?
Buffett: This is where we disagree.... I don't think many revenue generating contracts will be made publically. In fact, I think very few contracts will IMO. I believe Wave has contracted with the OEM's and the OEM's will receive the publicity not Wave. I believe Wave will be happy to take the backseat in the publicity department and let the revenue speak for itself moving forward. AIMHO.
Weby: I agree a theory it is! But the facts are the facts as they stand with the Dell / Phillips agreement. I believe this theory to be as "binary" as it gets in my book. But as you say "Some people can deal with theoretical models others need concrete evidence...... ". Wave's share price will be un-affordable to most by the time "concrete evidence" arrives. My hockey stick will have already scored big time long before the "concrete evidence" is realized.
Zen: Respectfully, please explain what leap you are refering to or why you believe these dots are far from connected? Dell is providing "hardware, managed services and software packaging services for Royal Philips Electronics.". The desktops and laptops Dell is providing are the very (exact) same listed as having TPM's as an option? Just coicidence? Wave is providing Wave's EMBASSY® Trust Suite Enterprise Security, Dell Edition 1.0 software (or should I say Dell is providing) for those very (exact) same PC's? Coincidence? I know i'm sounding like Barge right now but i'm willing to bet a dime to donuts that Wave will see substantial revenues from this deal alone. I would like to hear your reasoning behind why you think Dell will be supplying TPM enabled PC's to Phillips without providing Wave's EMBASSY® Trust Suite Enterprise Security, Dell Edition 1.0 software to make the TPM's functional? I think you prove the point I was trying to make in that "I believe these are the type of announcements in the future that many Wavoids will understand to be revenue generating for Wave.". And that "The public will only see the tremendous revenue growth and still wont understand from where the revenue was generated IMO.". Maybe I was wrong in that some Wavoids might not understand from where the revenue is generated either?
Buffetguy: The following is a pretty big contract for Wave? How much of the 700 Million over 5 years will Wave realize in revenue? I believe these are the type of announcements in the future that many Wavoids will understand to be revenue generating for Wave. The public will only see the tremendous revenue growth and still wont understand from where the revenue was generated IMO.

Form 8-K for WAVE SYSTEMS CORP Filed with SEC
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
14-Dec-2004
Entry Material Agreement, Financial Statements and Exhibits
Item 1.01. Entry Into a Material Definitive Agreement.
On December 14, 2004, Wave Systems Corp. ("Wave") and Envoy Data Corporation ("Envoy") amended the Authorized Distributor Agreement, dated as of June 29, 2004 (the "Agreement"). The amendment to the Agreement makes Wave's EMBASSY® Trust Suite Enterprise Security, Dell Edition 1.0 software (the "Software") available for distribution to Dell Inc. ("Dell") by Envoy. The Software will then be an option for purchase with Dell personal computers enabled with security hardware at a retail price of $19.99. Pursuant to the amendment to the Agreement, Wave will receive the remaining portion of the $19.99 retail price after deducting distribution costs. The amendment to the Agreement does not provide for any minimum or maximum guaranteed quantities.
CS: I wouldn't consider this a confession? I consider this bragging rights! I have been buying every month over the last year. At these prices I believe one would be foolish not to before this finally explodes! I think the first quarter of the new year will bust wide open for Wave IMO! Happy buying!
Barge: What say ye?
You have to own at least one share of this investment to have an opinion IN MY BOOK. Don't you just love those who are strongly opinionated about the political candidates yet don't vote??? This board is about having an opinion and yes some are arrogant when expressing their opinion but at the end of the day they share a common interest of being invested. They earned and invested in their right to their opinion. I would suggest you spend $1.23 and buy a share before you encourage anybody on this board to do anything.
Pass the bong please I need another hit.... Figures you would identify with and support this thinking.
More like a hit of crack!
Eamon: You travel so damn much who the hell knows where you are now? Must be back in Asia?
Sounds good! I'm going to check out whats in the liquor cabinet myself now!
Awk: Cut that 22M in half from Dell alone this year and that share price will still retire most of us longs! For good this time!
It's mind boggeling to consider what the share price will do given those numbers!
Ask Greg while your at it! I've been trying to get him to answer that question for a year!
Barge: YES!!!! I understand Wave! I share all of your views concerning the possibility of Wave being bought out with the exception of "never say never and always avoid always". We have all seen mergers and acquisitions over the years (on a much larger scale than a Wave buy out) which seemed impossible and quite honestly have shocked the street. Since the subject came up on the board I simply threw my opinion out relative to who I thought might have the most resources to expend and gain in a Wave buy out scenario. My opinion of who I think might be the forerunner in a buy out scenario (if a scenario of this nature was to arise) doesn’t disqualify me in terms of my understanding of Wave. Just as your opinion that a buy out scenario would be ludicrous doesn’t qualify you to know all concerning Wave. Your one of my favorite people on this board! Settle down brother.....
Barge: What if Microsoft and IBM choose to do an end around?
Bill Gates and Steve Mills Demonstrate Web Services
Tuesday 23 September 2003
In a briefing in New York last week, Steve Mills of IBM and Bill Gates of Microsoft demonstrated an auto dealer/parts Web services scenario based on specifications such as WS-Federation and WS-ReliableMessaging. "This is the first time anyone has seen this running," said Gates. "These are the infrastructure pieces that will lead to an explosion in web services". IBM and Microsoft have released a downloadable overview of the demo, joint whitepapers on Web services and announced a new series of Workshops.
Steve Mills and Bill Gates headline event for media and IT analysts
http://www-3.ibm.com/software/solutions/webservices/accelerate/
IBM and Microsoft sponsored a briefing for the media and IT analysts today to promote the future of Web services and the role of uniform standards to shape that future for our customers. The event's messages were clear:
Web services are real. Customers are implementing secure and interoperable Web services solutions.
Customer needs demand an acceleration in Web services momentum to enable high-value business scenarios with advanced Web services capabilities including security, reliable messaging, and support for transactions.
IBM and Microsoft created and demonstrated a scenario that featured a large auto manufacturer who had implemented a next-generation supply chain solution for managing relationships with dealers and suppliers. The demonstration highlighted the companies' joint work around security, reliable messaging, and transactions specifications. Afterwards Steve Mills and Bill Gates delivered remarks and answered questions from attendees.
This event illustrates IBM's commitment to cooperate with Microsoft and other partners on Web services specifications, while competing on implementation, to ensure secure and interoperable Web services solutions for our customers across diverse environments.

Mills and Gates demonstrate Reliable Web Services
http://www.it-analysis.com/article.php?articleid=11264
As if in response to my article but presumable in response to the Oasis demonstration of reliable messaging Bill Gates and Steve Mills were on a platform together.
For those of you who do not immediately recognise Steve's name, he is the Chief of IBM Software Division, and could be considered to be as influential in the overall software market as Bill.
The platform was in the St Regis Hotel, New York on Thursday 18 September and they were giving an update on their joint work on advancing Web Services
Gates Demos Web Services

It sounds simple enough, but the underpinnings of the demonstration were actual Web services applications, developed with specs such as WS-Coordination (Web Services Coordination) and WS-AtomicTransactions, both of which were created by IBM and Microsoft, along with BEA Systems Inc. Other specs put to work at the demonstration were WS-Federation and WS-Reliable Messaging.
Microsoft, IBM Tout Web Services
http://www.newsfactor.com/perl/story/22317.html
Microsoft and IBM gave no firm timetable for the completion of the protocols, but expect them to be final within the next few months.
Yet the IT industry does not appear to be waiting eagerly for them; the trend toward advanced Web services is still in the emerging stage. While many companies now are using XML (extensible markup language), essential for Web-services intercommunication, Web-services technology has not been adopted for many mission-critical applications.
IBM, Microsoft Show Beefed-Up Web Services
http://www.informationweek.com/story/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=14800273
Microsoft chairman and chief software architect Bill Gates described the new capabilities as being the "next level" in Web services, making it possible to build more secure, dependable applications than possible with the Simple Object Access Protocol, UDDI, WSDL, and XML specifications alone. Steve Mills, the senior VP and group executive in charge of IBM's software business, described the application integration allowed by the new software as a "breakthrough" in business technology.

"This is the first time anyone has seen this running," said Gates. He added: "These are the infrastructure pieces that will lead to an explosion in web services," said Gates.
Svenm: If Fiorina was in a locked Suite with Mr. Ottelini Barge might get jealous! Seriously, IBM would be the one to watch in a buyout scenario IMO.
IBM is looking to have some additional cash from the sale of their PC division? What about IBM?
GuV: I hope you aren't trying to convince me that we have arrived? You must be confusing me with somebody else if so? I've been counting my chickens before they have hatched (as Greg would say) for longer than most here. Maybe your trying to convince yourself?
I married hungarian and she says she doesn't know either.. LOL
Go-Kite: Quoting a little "Ice Cube"?? "Check yourself before you wreck yourself". Strong lyric from the late eighties of rap. That made me laugh hard!
After further review..... The call stands..... 15 yard penalty on the kickoff for taunting in the End Zone from HJ.
CPA: I heard a "rumor" that SKS was seen wining and dining Kevin Rollins himself in Lee not to long ago and that Steven was seen picking up the tab using Wave's corporate card. Based on this "rumor" I think it's pretty safe to say that SKS is a genius to have pulled off a deal with Dell spending only a couple hundred bucks! God bless Steven for considering the risk to reward ratio involved with paying for Kevins meal if in fact this "rumor" is true! Weby, I want chapter 11 to be titled "How To Land A Billion Dollar Deal For A Couple Hundred Bucks". One last chance to buy under $3....... Merry Christmas CPA.
Snack: Looks like you might be right!
Dig: It was a done deal when Snack said it was last year.... Everything that has transpired since then has only supported his prophetic statement. It is over.
Awesome! Wave's business model in action.
Helpful: Thanks for my first morning laugh! LOL
Tampa: Completely agree! If Wave doesn't post over 100K in earned revenue then I'll have to kick my own A_ _...... Let the games begin!
Tampa: Your on then.... If Wave can't pull 100K then i'll be happy to do the same!!!
Tampa: Something light and fun.... For instance, you win the wager and i'll have to post "Wave's chance for success is slim" once a day for an entire quarter. You lose and your daily post will read "Wave's success draws closer by the day". Just an example. Any ideas?
