P.S. Happy New Year's Eve "Eve" my fellow team, crew & LONGS.
What this? UOIP is being upgraded?
Went from a "GUARANTEE" (of nothing) to a "DOUBTFUL".
According to the brokerages, that would be a SELL to a HOLD.
Well, that's what we're all doing.
We're all holding to see what happens.
What else can we do.
Odds are HIGHLY in our favor, especially at this point.
NEGOTIATIONS must be and have been underway.

Fun Fact: WAG median = 1.41, Average = 2.09
Exactly in the middle (median) of 91 players = Mic ll @ 1.41.
The mean or average number = 2.09. stockfan100 would take it w/ 2.10.
My Scruffersense says, "I have no earthly idea".
All I know is there are tens of millions of units in-service now.
Units or DOCSIS 3.0+ cable modems in service: (estimate)
65M+ = United States
8.5M+ = Sky in the UK, owned by Comcastrate
6.9M+ = Canada
https://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=152632145
Plus, all the back year units deployed.
Probably over 100M total units deployed over the life of DOCSIS 3.0+ (so far).
Net cost per unit = Hmmmmm? You're the doctorate, PhD, professor.
Yes indeed. It should = an ENORMOUS payday.
Also, unbelievable SF-NO game. You must be ecstatic about that. What a finish!
And you're most certainly welcome.

Outstanding point. No mention, but CBV had 1st.
I'm not sure of speed or efficiency increase, but CBV (ChanBond) had AUTOMATIC channel bonding first.
The other signal switching was different and slower.
Entirely too technical for me, but the basis of the lawsuit.
The inventors know exactly so went to Comcast to inform them infringing.
This is an excellent summarized read if haven't read it.

They've made it this far.
Needless to say, they (Billy, Mishcon & Bayard) have much more to lose than we do.
Also, it's what Billy decides rolls to UOIP private shareholders.
I just don't understand how some play Monday morning quarterback--"Focused", "Prudence", "Side-Step".
They've been on this case for nearly 5 years.

And super stoked b/c just "Internet Connection Alone (Access)" of 64.35M US cable subscribers (households & businesses) at an average charge of $60/month, should = "Huge ChanBond Bucks".
Think the defense wants to settle but afraid patents may be "Considered" SEP so they're walking a very tightrope.

Hope link made sense. My friend didn't follow.
Yes, it will be hard to follow if read on phone.
I guess my previous link (#75142) would be a % of revenue approach.
64.3M+ U.S. cable consumers (you, me, us, anyone with cable).
$60 is average monthly cost to us.
That's $46.3B received by the cable each year from us.
And this is ONLY for "The internet connection" so you can get on the web.
It's the modem, coax, hook-up, etc.
That's it!
No TV channels included.
So what are ChanBond's patents worth each year?
What total benefit do they provide?
That's the question.
Easier said than done.
One step at a time, but suing the top 13 (consolidated now) U.S. MSOs.
https://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/statistics/highlights/top/top1812yr.html
Some current laws b/t both countries aren't even enforced now.
Just think... Every 1/1000th of ChanBond's patent worth
Every 1/1000th of CB's patent worth or value equates to anywhere from around .20 to .60 cents per share.
Depending on how conservative or aggressive one is in their calculations.
Rounded up to .60 b/c Comcast's UK SKY.
All depends on negotiations and valuations.
And in my readings, learned since utility patent 20 year clock starts at filing date, royalties are used to capture the full scope (or catch-up the years) of the infringement.
Some of you obviously knew that b/c included royalties in WAG.
Enforcing in other countries will be (extremely?) difficult, but may get Canada.
Thx. SKY (Comcast) & Canada Cable.
Comcast owns SKY (UK) so add 8.54M subscribers.
https://www.barb.co.uk/tv-landscape-reports/tracker-uk-households-by-tv-platform/
Canada has 14 million fixed broadband subscribers w/ ~6.9M cable.

>> Cable subscriber's cost & LT's link scenario.
This is NOT based-on gross revenues, i.e., no subsidiary revenues of cable providers included.
I'm not sure what type of valuation "Approach" this is but here we go, aka, "Wego".
From LT's post:
https://www.statista.com/statistics/280435/fixed-broadband-access-revenues-in-the-united-states/
This should be reported in BILLIONS of dollars (NOT millions--see below the graph).
A little mathematical reengineering.
There are approximately 98.2M** broadband subscribers in the U.S. alone.
Since 2018 dollar aren't listed if hover over LT's link, we'll extrapolate and say $58B in 2018 paid by all subscribers for INTERNET ACCESS ONLY.
That is, NO MEDIA OR CONTENT INCLUDED (No TV channels, Netflix, HULU, Sling, etc.).
$58,000,000,000 / 98,247,744 broadband subscribers = $590 average yearly cost to each subscriber.
$590 / 12 months = $49 per month, but this includes the phone companies (DSL, slower and usually cheaper).
It is estimated the average cable internet "CONNECTION ONLY" costs $60 per month so we'll go with that.
$60/month with 64.35M cable customers = $3.861B per month to cable companies or $46.332B per year.
$46.332B/year * 20 years (life of patent from filing date, but infringed so will go after all years with royalties) = $926,640,000,000.
So to simplify (if not too late):
Still reading?...DYK Martin Van Buren was born today in 1782 in Kinderhook, NY.
64.35M cable subscribers
$60 per month for one's internet connection or "ACCESS" only
12 month per year
$46,332,000,000 per year
20 years (Suing for the life of the patent, w/ or receiving royalties)
$926,640,000,000
__@_______w/ ~1,614,601,069 shares O/S
0.1% == $926,640,000________$0.57/share (that's 1/10th of 1% for connection ONLY)
0.25% = $2,316,600,000?______$1.44
0.5% == $4,633,200,000______$2.87
1% === $9,266,400,000______$5.74
And this is ONLY the UNITED STATES. "Good Day our Canadian LONGS".

Maarten Van Buren:
Anyway, long weekend, tired & confused.
The graph depicts xx.xx in millions but reads billions (or right).
2011 = $43,160 million or $43.16B
2017 = $57B
In 2011, the total amount of revenue came to 43,160 million U.S. dollars. By 2017, revenue is expected to have increased to more than 57 billion.
This must include all types of broadband ACCESS (fiber, coax, etc) ONLY.
Those numbers blow me away.
You're talking 1/2 a trillion dollars over 10-12 years for all broadband.
Gotta sleep on it.
LT & ALL again: Don't know what LT_sent_me.
I don't know what this is supposed to represent LT.
But these numbers CANNOT BE CORRECT (or misinterpreting them).
https://www.statista.com/statistics/280435/fixed-broadband-access-revenues-in-the-united-states/
There are over 64.3M U.S. cable internet subscribers alone. (link in other post).
If the average broadband provider cost = $10 per internet connection per month, not counting content, that's:
64,300,000*$10*12 months = $7B+ PER YEAR.
And that's the provider's cost--Not the consumers.
If someone knows, please explain.
Thank you,
Confused Scruffer
Average is as good as anyone's WAG.
Who knows? Very hard to quantify.
And not sure about what you were asking about TRIAL DATE.
It will come out in Pacer though.
You'll know when we all know.
Sometimes questions asked by you are answers we all want to know, but are unknown at the time, so many may skip over.
Also, you're very inquisitive.

UnifiedOnline, Inc. (UOIP) stock has been revoked.
In the meantime, we are all locked-&-loaded and private.
This is for a buyout or settlement. New game if trial.
Lastly, thank you for playing WAGGERS.
And good luck, Scruffer.64
LT & All: Use this link please. TY.
Are you saying use "Access" numbers?
Would the settlement be based on these figures?
https://www.statista.com/statistics/280435/fixed-broadband-access-revenues-in-the-united-states/
Or is it "Gross" revenues of MSOs? (Open to everyone's feedback please).
2 completely different amounts.
Also, these #'s** were used as a rough estimate. I used "Gross" but not so sure now.
It appears Altice has ("Found"?) $40B in additional revenue in your link.
Altice USA Revenue = $9,566,608 (in thousands so $9.56B) in 2018 (as opposed to $49.5B listed).

Also, it's just a rough estimate to show the huge dollar range, presented in both units (modems) and revenues.
As you know, it's not an exact science b/c we do not know what Billy will settle for or last minute offer before jury returns.
What are the patents worth? x pennies a day per cable modem or y percentage of total revenue or an average of both?
And for how many years? That's the billion dollar question.
And on your "Access" numbers, does that include ALL broadband or just cable providers? It wasn't clear.

Very interested now if "Gross" revenues or those "Access" numbers you provided. Colossal difference!
Thank you LT & All, Scruff

I think that's with treble damages.
From the board, typically around 1%.
1/2 of 1% would be around 3.87/share for just the 13 MSOs w/ average revenues of 125B.
125B per year for 10 years may be a little conservative.
Also, defense may want to go with "Units or Cable Modems" in service b/c other revenues are included in the grand total of the cable company's rev.
~64.3M cable customers in United States alone, so this method may be used as well.
Have the world, but not sure if entirely enforceable.
Think may end-up settling using average of both methods; Rev & Units.
Who knows what the settlement number will be but could be mind boggling.
Okay, will update your WAG on Monday.

Thought may have lost many of you so happy to see checked-in and posted.

NO WAY! Anywhere from 0.29 to 7.74/share.
The combined MSO revenues > $200B/year now.

By contrast, Leichtman's survey of the US broadband market found that cable companies added 2.9 million Internet subscribers in 2018, achieving a total of 64.3 million.
~64.3M cable customers (United States only)
If each customers represents ONLY 1/5th of a penny a day for, say, 10 years =
.002*365*10*64.3M = 469.39M
469.39M/1,614,601,069 last O/S = 0.29/share
Patent infringement value scenarios based on # of cable customers:
0.29/share = .002 (charge 1/5th a penny a day for 10 years)
0.73/share = .005 (charge 1/2 a penny...)
1.44/share = .01 (charge 1 penny a day...)
2.88/share = .02 (charge 2 pennies a day...)
4.32/share = .03 (charge 3 cents per day...)
https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2019/03/cable-and-satellite-tv-sinks-again-as-online-streaming-soars/
https://www.leichtmanresearch.com/2-4-million-added-broadband-in-2018/
Patent infringement value scenarios based on revenues:
$200B now, but must reduce each previous year so say, average $125B for 10 years.
0.77/share = .0010 (1/10th of 1% revenues) = .001*125B*10/1,614,601,069
1.94/share = .0025 (1/4th of 1% revenues)
3.87/share = .0050 (1/2 of 1% revenues)
7.74/share = .0100 (1% of revenues)
Absolutely, no telling what the final share amount will be.

Also, GB's list, post #74845: UPDATED PACER REPORTS.
Just up above there. See it in the yellow box?
He does a lot to maintain that list for everyone.
Thank you GB.
Almost anything anyone needs is in the:
- UPDATED PACER REPORTS managed by Goodbuddy4863
- The "Introduction" of this message board page
May have to toggle (hit) the "Hide Intro" or "Show Intro".
Works the same way as "Filter Enabled" or "Filter Disabled".
Have I mentioned I'm sleep-deprived and super-duper stoked yet?
I'm soooo excited--Holiday, hearing WIN, football, sleep.
Don't worry, will sleep before partake in alcohol.
Few, if any, roadblocks stopping ChanBond now.
Now that invalidity has been basically scratched, we should be on a smooth glide path to:
Settlement, buyout or trial.
That hearing was about the defenses last opportunity.
Have I written, "It was a HUGE ruling".
That hearing was HÜÜÜÜÜÜÜGE.
Hip, hip, hippo...Turducken.
Of course, didn't sleep well so getting a little goofy.
Sorry in advance for future postings, especially if drink this long weekend.
Also, the beat of my brain = Alternative Rock when sober.
Being drunk is an entirely another story.

That hearing was HUGE!
The excellent field reporting gave me a visual of...
ChanBond Lawsuit presents:
• Robert Whitman
• Earl Hennenhoefer
• Richard Snyder
• Robert Stine
With:
• Mishcon de Reya
• Bayard, P.A.
and
• Stephen Brauerman
in Billy Carter's "The Billionaire Maker".
In reference to "zomby woof" (I think).
Can't recall if made reference to Frank but know he likes bourbon and BBQ.
Bob and Frank, two brothers.
I can get a little Scruff-spastic at times.
Been on this board since June '17 and time to bring ChanBond home.
Settlement is getting closer.
That hearing was HÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜGE!
Attach zw, zwm, LT & magnus group photo.
Also, for those that (have the time to) keep up with the posts, specialneeds is zw's younger brother.
"Known him" for 57 years (probably 58 now).
It's great brotherly love.
