Hell, look at this very board:
They are vicious and for some reason, our population doesn't seem to respond to anything other than a mudwrestling match.
A lot of posts go like this - A rebuttle with opinion attached (sometimes a link) followed by an insult to the other's intelligence.
I know I do it too. LOL!
Yup. I picked more up at .95. I think if you can average down today, tomorrow AM will be good for you. That's how I'm playing it anyway. Usually, if I lose on IBM, it's because I picked up puts too early. IBM's strong and can/will move against market indicators.
Good luck man! Should look good soon enough.
Bought only one of these:
.IYSIQ USO SEP 95 Call
Let's see what happens globally over the next couple of weeks. Either oil continues down on decreasing tensions or it will sky rocket on grown tensions. A super "duh", I know but there ya go! LOL!
Picked up .IBMIF IBM SEP 130 Calls @ 1.10. I'm surprised it dropped so much today.
Adding TRA puts now:
.TRAUI TRA SEP 45 Puts @ 2.7. I'll probably have to average down or just get out. I wonder if oil is about to take off due to tensions with Iran and Georgia.
Well, we have NAFTA for better or for worse. Who cares who gave it to us, IMO. But...
When drafting the agreement, we should have immediately raised tarrifs on imports and place heavy tarrifs on outsourced (out of country) labor = to 90% of the average salary said outsourced job is worth in the U.S. Problem solved.
Since it was a Democrat that gave us NAFTA, I'm surprised tax increases didn't come with it by default. LOL!
I don't think it's a good idea:
Why do you think it is a great idea to confront a nuclear power like Russia in it's own sphere of influence? This is what Kruschev tried to do with Kennedy in the 60s and it almost caused a nuclear war.
But I believe by supporting Poland on the system (whether it works or not), makes the statement that countries have the right to defend themselves. I know what you're saying. But I don't believe we need to react the way Russia wants us to at every one of their threats. For example, the missle system in Poland is to help defend against "Iran". Riiiight. I don't buy it either but politically speaking, that's a good move. Why would Russia want to stop a country from installing a "defense" system? Also, you're referring to a direct threat towards the U.S. by Russia. We aren't directly threatening Russia. Just supporting an ally by selling them a defense system.
You have to wonder now how much Russia or China give a rat's ass about being UN members. I don't think they care at all.
Nice call. That's about as cheap as you could buy today. Congrats.
LOL! Only here would you hear the comparison of media to that of pumpers. Hehehe. I can't disagree there. BUT...
I lean right myself. And from the beginning, everything I read didn't commit to removing responsibility from Georgia. Even GW and Rice seem to be looking at Georgia in a tone much like, "Are you guys kidding me? You thought it was OK to tempt RUSSIA?"
The only direct accusations at Russia that I've read is that their response was excessive and they should not have pushed so far into Georgia. But nothing to remove blame from Georgia.
I just sold some of these @ 1.85: .TRAIJ TRA SEP 50 Calls
I had to average down on Friday which turned out to be a good bet. I've stopped holding over the weekend though, except for these.
Looking for IBM calls if it will just drop a bit more.
Edit - Sold a bit too early I guess. LOL!

Yeah, I think we knew that Georgia was over estimating U.S. backing of their moving into the break away zones. And I think they underestimated Russia's response. Not good. Now Iran is flexing their muscles, again.
Iran is tight with Russia which means Iran would probably enjoy China's backing as well. At this point, you have to wonder if Israel is holding off attacking Iran (I'm speaking about the Iran test launch this weekend) for fear of a Russian response. I wonder if any of us would be surprised to find out Iran has nuclear arms. Not me.
Even though the UN is as impotent as Bob Doyle without the blue pill, the U.S. should be working to pass UN resolutions on the issue and putting together a plan with the NATO members.
Also, IMO, the U.S. and Poland should call Russia's bluff and move forward with the missle defense system. Either Russia isn't bluffing and Poland needs the system. OR, Russia IS bluffing and Poland needs the system to back Russia down some.
Lastly, I have a feeling we have a fleet on the way to Eastern Europe just to have a presence there.
A little bit closer to the $125 mark before buying those calls.
Looking for these @ 1.2: .IBMIF IBM SEP 130 Calls

I'm looking for IBM to drop this AM and then go green this afternoon. It seems to like doing that.
Oil gonna rise a bit today. Wonder if there will be another PR later today to bring it back down? LOL!

Oil rises on worries Storm Fay may disrupt supply
Monday August 18, 6:53 am ET
By Pablo Gorondi, Associated Press Writer
Oil up near $114 on concerns Tropical Storm Fay may disrupt Gulf oil operations
Around 2pm, we'll probably get another PR saying that the storm will do no harm and it will fall more than it gained today. IMO, of course.
We deposed Saddam, not take the country. This episode clearly shows this as fact:
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=125241&page=1
The Marine Behind American Flag Controversy
Stars and Stripes on Saddam’s Doomed Statue Strikes a Sensitive Chord
B A G H D A D, Iraq, April 10
RSS It took Cpl. Edward Chin just seconds to hang an American flag on the head of Saddam Hussein's statue in central Baghdad, but it's a move that's likely to be debated for years to come.
The mood of Iraqi civilians was briefly muted in Baghdad Wednesday as Chin climbed up and covered Saddam's face with an American flag.
The crowd's loud cheers faded, and in less than a minute the Stars and Stripes was removed from the massive statue and replaced with Iraq's black, white and red flag.
I'll conceed that we did take Baghdad but gave it back within "seconds".
No.
"If the Americans can take Baghdad, we can take Tbilisi"
-Russian Army Commander
A tough statement to argue with, isn't it?
We didn't take Baghdad. And in fact, have not benefited from Iraq's oil either. Lastly, there were UN resolutions on the table that backed us. Other's just changed their minds. I'm not going to argue any longer whether it was right or wrong. But it is completely wrong to compare that to the Russia/Georgia fight.
However, Georgia really shouldn't have used force against the break away areas. They had to know that Russia would respond the way they did.
Not good for anyone.
On a positive note:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080815/ap_on_bi_ge/oil_prices
Oil's down and the dollar is stronger today. One of the mods on Options Wonderland advises that support for oil is around $110. I think it will drop lower though and soon!
Now let's get gas stations to follow suit.
You are referring to China and Russia? If so, I have not kept up. If that's the case, we may need to consider become an isolationist nation, IMO.
Better yet, let's just stop being the first to deploy troops. With that, let's quit being the first to send money to humanitarian missions.
Dude, from day one of the Russia incursion into Georgia, I've become a bit concerned to say the least!
China's probably waiting until after the games to let the world know what their opinion is. I think we already know, though.
Found this -

I am so sick and tired of reading about Russia whining. They think that Poland, or the U.S., has plans to attack them? Who want's that to happen?
I'm concerned about what China's opinion is. My bet is that they support Russia and that China may flex a bit if we move forward with the missle defense system.
Now THAT being said, that tells me that there is interest in communist expansion between China and Russia.
Should Poland really be concerned about a nuclear attack by Russia? If they said it, then I'm concerned. Obviously, Russia's UN membership means squat. Back to the Cold War we go.
Maybe we need a few more wars! Or better yet, could you imagine the NWO conspiracy coming to light and families across the globe being restricted to having only one child like China?
I can see it now. When that time comes, our genetic engineering will be good enough to safely program the sex of our children at will within the first month of pregnancy. BUT, the NWO government will have a nationalized (global of course) lottery system that will determine what sex our only child will be.
LOL! No disagreement there. Once speculators were allowed to trade the commodity, there came the increases in price.
What will be MOST interesting, IMO, will be the effect this has on the Middle East politics and economy. Where will Saudi get all it's money then? I'm thinking that there's going to be BIG changes within 10 - 20 years that will make those areas desperate to find new sources of income. OPEC ain't going to like wind farms.
I think the problem with the conservationists is that they took a radical view point (not all but some) in restrictions and how much their projects were going to cost tax payers. In short, they should recognize that NO ONE wants polluted air and that the free market, with progressive technology, will eventually take care of the problem without bankrupting businesses.
Edit - You can't make everyone happy. Wind Farms are already under the microscope for causing health concerns:

This is from a poster on the Options Wonderland board, whom I agree with. Also, my uncle in Louisiana (worked for the local Utilies there) tells me that there's no reason Nat Gas should be going up with oil. But if that's the case, prices should drop big. IMO, I'm thinking Oil will be under $100 by end of September. Maybe sooner:

Forget $100 a Barrel - Oil Will Plummet to $30
http://seekingalpha.com/article/91100-forget-100-a-barrel-oil-will-plummet-to-30?source=yahoo
Remember all those times OPEC tried to tell us that they didn't want high oil prices and we didn't believe them? Well, they meant it. They knew that technology was available to crush oil demand but they hoped that the low price of oil would keep the technology buried. The cat's now out of the bag. The commodity run is over. The talking heads are trying to temper the recent selloff in oil by saying that it will settle around $100 a barrel but that is not what happens when a bubble bursts. Oil is headed back down to historical levels between $30-$50 a barrel. Consider the following evidence:
1. Oil consumers quickly adjust to high gasoline prices. June data from the IEA reports a 4.7% drop in miles driven by Americans year over year. That equals a loss of 12.2 billion road miles of oil demand in just one month. The adjustment has come without a hitch. Staycations have replaced vacations. Honda (HMC) Civics have replaced Chevy (GM) Tahoes.
Not only are we driving less, we are using less gas while we drive. Everyone was shocked at the gigantic $6.3 billion loss reported in GM's latest earnings announcement. What has happened to automobile demand in just two months is astounding. You only have to go through that type of pain once to never let it happen again. The gas guzzling SUV market has collapsed overnight. Americans have proven how easy it is to adjust to high oil.
2. New transportation technology has arrived. GM recently announced its goal to have 1000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles on California highways by 2014. Honda expects to have 200 Hydrogen FCX Clarity's within three years. California is leading the American innovative push with 26 hydrogen fuel stations already in operation, headlined by Shell's (RDS.A) recent opening of the first retail station to sell both gasoline and hydrogen. Of course these numbers are small but they are extremely significant.
Hybrid numbers started small too. Toyota (TM) just announced plans to unveil a new Lexus hybrid and the next generation of its hot selling Prius next year as the company expects to hit the one million mark in hybrid sales by 2010.
3. The next President of the United States will implement alternative energy on a grand scale like never before. John McCain wants to build 45 new nuclear reactors by 2030 and ultimately wants 100 new nuclear plants in the U.S. He also proposed a $300 million prize to the auto company that develops a next-generation car battery that will help America become independent from oil.
Barack Obama wants to create a $7000 tax credit for purchasing advanced vehicles and mandate that all new vehicles be 'flexfuel' by the end of his first term. He also wants to require U.S. utilities to get 25% of their electricity from renewable sources like wind and solar.
Oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens has been traveling around the country touting his wind plan. He claims that the Great Plains states are the Saudi Arabia of wind. North Dakota alone has the potential to provide power for a quarter of the country. A Stanford University study found that there is enough wind power to satisfy global demand 7 times over-even if only 20% of wind power could be captured.
We are also seeing technological breakthroughs in geothermal energy. Raser Technologies (RZ) can now produce energy from just 180 degree heat through portable mini-power plants. The plan to replace oil is now the top concern of U.S. citizens. Government subsidies will keep the alternative energy trend alive even as oil prices fall.
4. The last piece of evidence for a decline back to historic oil price levels is actually a secret that neither the green people nor the oil people want us to know about. The secret is that new oil is plentiful. Oil drilling rigs are booked until 2012. Recent finds include Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico and Africa.
To illustrate what's happening - we're invested in a small company called Freedom Oil and Gas which is preparing to drill in Southern Utah just north of the recent Wolverine discovery well which represents the largest U. S. onshore discovery in the past 30 years. Wolverine has drilled 10 out of 11 successful wells in its field, and is currently producing in excess of 6,000 barrels of high gravity, crude oil per day. Freedom estimates that a new discovery will provide as much as 150 million barrels of oil reserves, with each well producing as much as 1,000 to 2,000 barrels per day per well.
The conclusions are obvious. If you are thinking that the oil drop in oil to $115 a barrel is all we're going to see than you haven't connected the dots. This oil spike was a bubble fueled by a group of deceived investment speculators who failed to account for adaptable demand destruction from consumers. The technology to replace oil already exists and high oil prices merely provide the necessary motivation to bring these products to market.
The United States is leading an alternative energy charge that will spread throughout the globe and cause a major shift of power away from the Middle East. I'll save the ramifications of such a power shift for another article but simply stated, OPEC's greatest fear has been realized. Short oil.
Disclosure: Short USO, Long DUG.
Absolutely. But of course, the belief is that Satan causes WWIII to bring in the NWO. LOL!
Then again, can you blame Satan or God for that? Hehehe. Theology has a real problem with consistency surrounding the philosopy of God; forget trying to merge that with whatever holy book they subscribe to.
If you're into Anne Rice, check out the book "Memnoch the Devil". It is very interesting how she writes from the perspective of the Devil. I grew up in a baptist household and read the bible, went to church twice on Sunday's and once on Wednesdays. And reading Anne's book, it was exactly how I envisioned the biblical god from what I learned in Sunday school. You just have to be willing to read and understand without being "led".
I thought about that the other day. I would NOT buy a gas station franchise right now. There's a Chevron gas station by my house that closed down. I assume because there's a Kroger gas station that sells gas for .15 less per gallon. But, the alternative fuel cars are out NOW. The ones that use LESS gas (hybrids) have morphed to SUV's and even luxury cars like the Lexus.
Couple that with the fact that Americans like to change cars at least every 5 years (3 years if they lease) and voila! By 2012, watch America's consumption of Oil drop tremendously.
Gas stations better start stocking some fresh snacks now! LOL!
I thought witches were burned in Salem up until a few months ago. My oldest son saw that on some "True Stories" show on Scifi. It was a trivia type question. So I had to immediately look it up to verify. I was convinced those people were burned. That's what myths and legends will do to ya. I guess I'd rather be hanged but killing over a belief system doesn't make that form of execution any better by any means. LOL! I'd hate to be around a bunch of loons like that. Of course, I do live in the South though. For all you southern haters out there, you'll love this:
http://www.gwinnettdailypost.com/main.asp?SectionID=6&SubSectionID=84&ArticleID=16944
One more item of note. I saw Nine Inch Nails Wednesday night. Great show. Out front though were people holding up signs "Jesus Loves you" and "Say no to Satan". Stuff like that.
I think on Sunday, I'll sit in front of a church parking lot (picking one out of 1000 within a 10 mile area) and hold a sign that says, "Say no to Jesus". I wonder if they'd tolerate that.
I read once that Native Americans were burned for not converting to Christianity. However, it was a very biased source which I can't find any other sources.
Yes, folks were crazy back then when others didn't have the same points of view. LOL!
I found this: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1800127231/info
"3 Sovereigns for Sarah" - I'll put that on my Block Buster list. Thanks!
Actually, the burnings took place in Europe. In Salem, accused witches were hanged and at least one suspected witch was crushed to death.
Check out the Movie "The Crucible" with Daniel Day Lewis and Wynona Rider. Pretty interesting.
ABK looks good and room to grow with the RSI staying above 50 (my favorite indicator). I might buy some put insurance on that though, since you can get it cheap.
USS, I wouldn't touch though.

Picked these up today:
.TRAIJ TRA SEP 50 Calls @ 2.40. They're green right now but wondering if this will bounce off that 50?
She probably was in error. She's still in college. Hehehe.
.IBMIE IBM SEP 125 Calls sold earlier today. Looking for a new entry now. May wait for tomorrow though. I think it pulls back a little in the morning.
Geeze, dude. I know it's a message board but now you're acting like you're some sort of super hero? LOL!
"I'm a Soul Washer. I have no fear." Queue dramatic music now.
I think that's the funniest thing I've read on iHub for about 2 weeks. And I check out the CSHD thread all the time. LOL!
Of course I am. It's an internet message board. LOL!
However, I have a sister-in-law that's working this summer for the forestry fire dept in Cali. My family and I were in Northern California visting. There were lots of wild fires going on. What I was told was that Gov. Arnold requested assistance from neighboring states, which tells me no one was coming until asked.
Also, there's an individual who's friends with my father-in-law up there that does tree falling for the forestry. He's in a Federal database used by States to request his type of services. He'll work fires in Cali, Oregon, wherever he's called.
Really?
"Bush deserves to be bashed. If got the chance at a face to face, I'd bash him with my hands, knees, and elbows!"
I'm kinda surprised you'd post that on a public forum. LOL! I didn't particularly care for Clinton but I don't wish harm on him. Same with GW.
Intelligent people generally do not like to resort to fighting. Keep that in mind while you try to tell me how smart you are. LOL! Good luck!
Meanwhile, while you're envisioning beating up the POTUS, I have some profits to take off the table.
So you're admitting on the board here that you DON'T know the difference between Federal and State laws. I can understand why you think the way you do now. Let me help you transcend at least that section of ignorance that flaws your political opinion.
For an international crisis, the Federal government can act independently of States, not needing approval from anyone except the international entity in question requesting help.
For a local crisis, i.e. a State, the Federal government cannot act until that State's government requests said action.
You better be glad it is that way. Otherwise, you'd have the Federal government getting into State matters at times you don't necessarily want them to.
I planned to wait for your response to the other question before posting this. Interesting you put the blame on both Federal and State leaders for failures, yet you only bash GW.
Edit - I think GW and FEMA had shortcomings. But, those shortcomings also would have happened about 72 hours quicker if the local State government acted in good faith for the people.
Maybe we should change the rules and allow the Federal government to take actions in States when the local officials of said state are deemed incompetent. Is that what you want? LOL!

Alright, Soul Washer, put your honesty cap on for a microsec and answer this simple question:
Do YOU believe that the Governor of La and the Mayor of New Orleans did everything possible to help the victims of Katrina and that GW is the sole source of failure?
GW could have issued a press conference advising of the failures at the local state level. Of course, it would have been thought of by some as making excuses. So he didn't (not for that reason I'm sure).
It's easy to target the guy you don't like as the point of failure.
Other items of note are the buses that Mayor Nagin let flood that were supposed to be used for evacuations.
Cars parked under over passes a full year later even though the Mayor had multiple bids to remove them more than 10 months before.
But let's listen to the great philosopher, Kanye West. "George Bush doesn't care about Black People."
Hilarious! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,403146,00.html
Kentucky Student May Sue After Mall Claimed Her Dress Was Too Short for Shopping
According to MyFOXBoston, the guard informed her that several female patrons had complained that she was disrupting their shopping experience because their husbands were “checking her out.”
Maybe those female patrons who complained should have thought twice about putting on those pounds making it so their husbands wanted new "eye candy".
IMO, you bought just right. I bought too early but I'm holding. Looks like we hit bottom and going to move back up to at least $128 again:
Another fun article on using English:
http://www.wnep.com/Global/story.asp?S=8801969&nav=menu158_2
A VFW in Susquehanna County is drawing some attention because of its answering machine message. Some in Montrose wonder if it the right message.
A message on the answering machine at the VFW post in Montrose is considered racist by some, but others stand behind the "speak
Englins" message. The VFW near Montrose is a busy place along Route 706, a place where many in the area come to socialize. But some folks are questioning the post's answering machine message, saying it's not very social at all.
"Hello, this is Montrose VFW. We are an English speaking, American establishment. If you do not speak English or believe in America, please hang up," the message says.
LOL! Then we have this Constitutionalist's opinion:
"Racist. I mean, that's like, this is a free country, isn't it? That's what my understanding is," said Teresa Arthofer of Montrose. She wasn't happy hearing about the message, calling it unconstitutional.
"Does it say English speech? It just says freedom of speech. No where in there does it say freedom of English speech. It just says, freedom of speech," Arthofer added.
That's ridiculous. Freedom of Speech = YOU CAN PUT ANY DAMN THING YOU WANT ON YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE. IF THIS IS A FEDERAL FUNDED ESTABLISHMENT, THEN ACCEPT THAT ENGLISH IS THE LANGUAGE OF CHOICE. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, USE YOUR POWER TO VOTE TO PUT IN AN ANTI-AMERICAN REPRESENTATIVE THAT WILL CHANGE IT.
Better yet, visit Mexico and complain to that government that they don't allow you to "press 1 for English".
Where do these people get their education?
