Yeah, I think we knew that Georgia was over estimating U.S. backing of their moving into the break away zones. And I think they underestimated Russia's response. Not good. Now Iran is flexing their muscles, again.

Iran is tight with Russia which means Iran would probably enjoy China's backing as well. At this point, you have to wonder if Israel is holding off attacking Iran (I'm speaking about the Iran test launch this weekend) for fear of a Russian response. I wonder if any of us would be surprised to find out Iran has nuclear arms. Not me.

Even though the UN is as impotent as Bob Doyle without the blue pill, the U.S. should be working to pass UN resolutions on the issue and putting together a plan with the NATO members.

Also, IMO, the U.S. and Poland should call Russia's bluff and move forward with the missle defense system. Either Russia isn't bluffing and Poland needs the system. OR, Russia IS bluffing and Poland needs the system to back Russia down some.

Lastly, I have a feeling we have a fleet on the way to Eastern Europe just to have a presence there.
