I did not see the old facility other than driving past the office on the way to Powder Mill a while back. Never got out to meet and greet or tour, but I intend to do that at the new place.
Yes, if they were that productive with the little space they had, they should be able to crank 'em out in the new facility. I look forward to seeing how they plan on doing that.

Hi Artguy!
I stand humbled in the light of what they have already achieved, let that be known. I have always thought that those who complain about things not being good enough - in any company - look at the past and the road that was taken to the present and then see if accomplishments were not made. That usually shuts people up quickly. I can not criticize management as whatever they did so far has worked for them and has gotten us here.
I absolutely abhor false advertising and I would not expect any of the people at Torvec to promote or infer falsehoods just to keep the public in a particular mindset. For no reason that I can see would they engage in a fluff campaign or any kind of product misrepresentation. They do seem to be honest and forthcoming in their release of information when they can and they do seem to want to promote their products in a low keyed but intriguing fashion. Placing their burnable dollars in the research and development arena made, and still makes, very good sense. At least for now.
But they are surely morphing into a production company and a part of that transition includes the kind of branding I refer to. I am sure they are already aware of this, and as you say: "they have done this before". Some might argue, however, that they have not done this before in this particular context, therefore the statement does not apply. In my humble opinion I think it applies only partially. They have done something LIKE this before.
Now that they are about to play in the competitive markets of the giant automotive and mobility companies, their suppliers both domestic and foreign, and other related industry players every little shiny edge can grab the glance of a buyer, developer or partner. I think that is all I am saying.
They have done great so far, and I would not be scraping pennies together to accumulate shares if I did not believe fully in their eventual triumph. I would just be very happy if we did not lose ANY potential glance from possible suitors, and if I am truly a part of the ownership in whatever small way that might be, I offer my suggestions to the management as fodder that stems from my experience and desire for communal success.
On another note, I have been back for four weeks and still have not yet visited the new facility!! I feel like a total slacker, but I have excused myself by saying I am just letting the excitement build up. Kind of like getting a present and holding it on your lap for minutes before even tearing a corner of the wrapping paper...

Hello allnumbers.
I must chime in here. I agree that perception can very well be reality, and the presentation of a company and its technology can indeed make or break a deal. Don't forget that business is really the interaction between two parties, which in most every case involves humans. Humans have this thing embedded in them called "emotion" and it has a far greater impact in the world of business than most business people want to admit to.
(And yes, a preposition is something you should never end a sentence with.)
*ahem*
So my point is that the emotional side of a human can induce judgments of things like attitude, appearance and quality. We have all heard the phrase, "first impressions count" and though we all say that if the quality is there it will shine through, the statement holds some water. The counterpoint is very true, but the initial judgment creates an extra hurdle whereby the quality must fight to PROVE itself, rather than be presented so that the quality is simply assumed from the start. I don't think any of us go to meetings or interviews dressed in a shoddy way - we like to wear nice clothes and make a quality impression from the start. There is nothing wrong with this effort. Yes, a qualified person could get the job even with a bad first impression, but why make it harder?
I do think that our company needs to step up a bit on the "image front", but I also see their efforts being directed toward the quality and engineering of their multiple technologies. Perhaps it is time to increase the head count by one and have someone actually creating a branding situation for them and cleaning up the presentation materials.
You can be sure that when you walk into the Lockheed Martin offices and view their publicity materials that none of them look at all amateur. That is purely an assumption on my part, but from viewing their web site and seeing other PR materials from them I can make that leap. In fact, this is simply an illustration of my point - I made the assumption that the rest of their stuff is quality because of the handful of materials I have already seen. I would hate to think that the opposite is true for us. Perception is reality. It is a horrible statement, but tends to be true. We must do business with this in mind.
And to prove my stance I have just demanded my company take their corporate video off of YouTube last week. Totally un-professional and amateur place for this kind of thing. Not a place for doing business - it is for kids and for goofiness. It does not present the company in a professional light, even though the company is very professional and the video was professionally produced. I was met with gasps of horror as most of the employees here are under the age of 30. My demand was met and the video is no longer on YouTube. At this point, they are now glad of that since anyone can post comments - including competitors - and they can not be immediately removed. Many factors, but the one we are discussing here is the point I am reinforcing.
I hope the brothers will heed this and find someone to take charge of their marketing. It is indeed a specialized skill set and is rarely focused on or included in growth business planning. It seems to be needed here.
Don't get me wrong - they will still succeed, in my opinion. So far so good for all they have done. This would be simply another feather in their cap to add to the great potential we all have here.
Price is down, but Neb can buy more shares and DCA down a bit in the process - get me up to 4000 shares and down to $4.09. One day my holding will move to five figures and I will be in with the big boys...but I still won't get to hang at Tor Acres...
:)
-Neb
You slay me, Torvecian.
*yawn*
;)
-Neb
And a very Happy Thanksgiving to you, Torvecian. And to all the others who have absolutely informed and entertained me this past year - thanks for the insight and the intelligent speculation...OK - MOSTLY intelligent... ;)
And we all know sense is rarely common, and by that I mean GOOD sense...
I am thankful to own Torvec and to have left the Garden State to finally return to my home in the Finger Lakes. It has been three weeks back in town and I am only a tiny bit peeved that there hasn't been snow yet, but I am so glad to be back in the most beautiful place in the world. Thanks for holding down the fort...
On this Thanksgiving, cherish the breath you take that day and every day after, and enjoy the freedom we have to discuss, disagree, analyze and learn. If we look back through history, and I mean thousands of years, it is easy to see that we were born at an extremely rare time when all these freedoms are enjoyed by the masses. A tiny percentage of our human existence is spent as free people, and we are the lucky ones to get to live it.
Not a bad deal, really.
Peace to all.
-Neb
Thank you, dynomite - to you as well.
-Neb
I think you are right. It should not be long now.
-Neb
A rat with attitude! Nice.
Actually, try to find one WITHOUT an attitude!!!!!!
Yes, I remember Ben...
-Neb
Thanks, cyclone101 - good luck to you!
;)
-Neb
Thanks, olico. I am out now. I will be following the run, though, and I should be back in after a while.
Good luck to all, and keep it up Frank - you're doing fine!
-Neb
Sold!
Thanks to whoever bought them. I shall return...
-Neb
Now it is at .0003 - when I took off the all or none I thought I might do a little better. I will modify it later today down to .0002 but I thought there might be a taker or two for some 3s. based on the bright future potential I think the difference is moot at this point...
We shall see.
-Neb
OK, I took off the all or none, but changed it to .0003 just to see. Maybe you want those?
Don't worry, I am not being stingy here, but let's just see for an hour or two...
You want to see my poker hand too?
-Neb
I see a buy at .0003 but mine have not been touched. You would think at least an MM would grab them for themselves!
Maybe the all or none is screwing me up.
-Neb
Yup. I have an all or none order in to sell 2125000 shares at .0002 with Scottrade. I put it in at 1:08 PM today (11/13/2007). So it has been almost a half hour. Maybe I take the all or none off, but then they scam me on commissions, and I really don't want to end up with the extra 125000 sitting in my account. Let's see what happens. I would bet if you put your buy order in for the exact amount above you might have a better chance. OK, I would not bet ANYTHING with these MMs...
I'll take the AoN off in a couple hours if nothing happens.
-Neb
There they sit! Interesting how this works, eh?
I would post proof, but I don't know how to post a screen print. You'll just have to trust me on this one...
-Neb
I have 2125000 shares in an all or none to sell. I will sell them to you at .0002. The offer is out there, as I am going to dump this little bit of free money into something else for a while. Go get 'em!!!
-Neb
Most grateful!
-Neb
I will guess the following:
November 10, 2007
8:00 AM
-Neb
THAT, my friend, is what being awake at 3:30 AM is all about. And yes - ain't technology grand!
Thanks, Doc!
:)
-Neb
All right, I'll fess up in public - 2120000 shares that are riding for, well...um..that would be...um...FREEEEEEEEEE!
Total lotto stock. I got in at .0001 and flipped it a couple times and now I have this tiny holding of a potentially spectacular stock. I guess that having .0005% of any company vote is kind of a thrill...
Have a great night all and look forward to a lucky green day tomorrow!
-Neb
Thanks, x Auntie x!
I will wait to see what they do. I do not know about the RS - this one I bought literally as a lotto with no research whatsoever - other than the few postings here and there...
Whoopie!
-Neb
Good day all!
Are holders of WTVI supposed to get some kind of WTVN swap? Forgive my ignorance, but my account still shows the shares of WTVI with a "no sell" comment next to it. I see the new ticker actively trading. Was there something I was supposed to do or do I automatically get the new shares?
Or am I SOL with a lovely little bag? I just bought this on a whim for a loss, so my 100 bucks can go toward my offset...
Thanks in advance for any help, and have a great day!!!
-Neb
I try to forget that episode, fourkids...
Although I must admit that was when I realized for certain that Raphael was a real person. I heard how HE handled all those less than mature individuals and I gained respect for him. As a businessman myself, I can relate to the mistakes he made. We all do it. What separates the successful from the unsuccessful is how they handle those mistakes and how many times they repeat them. From what I see here, there will be no repeat of the Downshire style mistakes, and the hiring mistakes are being corrected. He is looking to give the PR reins to another who is more qualified than he. Recognition of your own skill set is also a sign of good business practice and making the mistake of trying to do it all yourself is another one that he has learned not to do.
All mistakes lead to perfection, or as close to it as you can be anyway.
Keep up the good work, Raphael, and you have the support of many of us here. Let's ride this ride as far as we can and at the same time let's make the roads safer for all of us - we could really use that...
Good luck to all!
-Neb
You're killin' me, man, you're killin' me!
...um, that's of course assuming you actually ARE a man...
Great stuff, dioblo - thanks!
-Neb
That was perfect timing - you do the same!
Now it all sounds just fine to me, iblong2, but what if that smile was really kind of an an evil grin...?
-Neb
I raise my glass!
Well done.
-Neb
Interesting. I had a buy order in for .095 all day for 50000 shares. Nothing happened all day. Decided I wanted the shares so I upped it to .01. Just bought 50000 at .01 and it still shows .095!
Was I ripped off or did it flash and I did not see it?
-Neb
Pay no attention to the buyins data, male1041. It is not to be taken as legitimate data. It is not a reliable source. That can be proven. But I am sure we are short here just the same and covering will happen, in my opinion. We will be fine here. Let the product grow and we will see the light of day again.
Sucks to be down, though...
-Neb
I dare say, redrabbit, that it would have to be marketed only as a straight to DVD box set of the canceled TV mini-series...
But if you DO make a novel, I will be sure to attend your first book signing and I will post the first review on Amazon.
-Neb
Wha...where'd everybody go?
*tip toeing in*
Heh...heh...hello?
*looking around*
Hmmmm...no one's seems to be around...
*looking in the fridge and grabbing the brownies*
Mmmmph...bbllphhhhth....chomp chomp chomp...
*quickly throwing them back in the fridge, slamming the door and making a dash for the exit*
Yaaaahhhhhhooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally. A moment in time when the MCCY board is civil.
*BEAM*
-Neb
Maybe for my sake you choose, say, Sweden...?
-Neb
Got it. I agree 100% with your outlook.
Thanks for clarifying.
I am looking for the number to call right now (on lunch). I can't wait until later...
-Neb
But lowman, you just said in the previous post:
"I'm seeing your point, and the unlikeliness of such a consistency. Perhaps Buyins is not all they appear to be, and I can agree that Don should be made aware of this, and possibly even seek a refund on monies paid, not to mention maybe even damages suffered, if any can be proved."
In this post you agree with airdale1 and say, "suspicion is totally unfounded".
Which is it?
The company shows great promise and ethics and when someone like me finds an inconsistent behavior in only one tiny piece of the picture, shouldn't it be dealt with? If I walk around with my fly open I would hope someone would tell me (assuming the breeze doesn't give me the alert...) so I can fix it. That is all I am trying to do.
airdale1, you are taking that out of context. I said IF before that. I am not getting into a stupid argument on this. The data is fake. That is from Buyins.net - NOT Don!!!!! I am saying that if Don is AWARE of this being false, then he should be ashamed. If he is NOT aware, he should be told that this site is not a good avenue to go down. That is all.
As I mentioned, I respect Don and his abilities. I think the company could be absolutely great! I do not invest in companies to flip and trade. I invest. Maybe you can figure out what that means and realize I am looking for the answer to this very obvious question. This is not an attack at Don - only at Buyins.net.
Based on your reply, I doubt you know anything about math or business or honesty. But thanks for the insult. C'mon airdale1, get real.
I will call the company and ask what is going on with this. I will not report on it because it will be attacked and viewed like all the other "calls to the company" which are usually fabricated. I will let everyone know when I do call, though. It won't be today - I have a job that really gets in the way of my investing....
No one wants to face this. That in and of itself speaks volumes.
-Neb
Jagman - great link.
A quote from the article:
"You gotta love this little sermon in the press release from Buyins.net, a stock-touting firm that is trying to cash in on the naked shorting loons..."
So buyins.net is a PR firm helping companies "fight naked shorting" but the way they do this is to try to scare people by publishing phony data. That, my friend, is a scam and a half. Don should be ashamed. I hope he looks into this, and if he doesn't then I am not so sure he is on the up and up.
I agree that naked shorting is a problem, but we can not fight a problem by faking the data to make it look worse. Credibility down the drain at that point.
Again, thanks for the link.
-Neb
7.7% represents the ratio of the shares shorted that month to the shares traded that month. All numbers are significantly different so that the actual percentage should really be variable - not consistently 7.7%.
So what you are saying is that the ratio between the number of shares traded and the number of shares shorted is identical through time. This is not possible. There is something wrong with this report from where I stand.
If the number of shares shorted changed, then number of shares traded must change EXACTLY in the same ratio, which is unrealistic and not possible over the three years stated.
Let's try this, for the sake of example. 10,000 shares short in November 05 and there are 100,000 shares traded that month (10% short) then the next month those 10,000 shares are still short and the next month, even though the volume either increased or decreased to, say, 150,000 shares traded in December. The ratio would then be different - not the same. The numbers in this report are fabricated - there is no way there can be a 7.7% short over two years every single month.
This report appears to be fabricated. This is out of character for the company from what I can see. I would really like to know what this is about and where this data came from (not the web site - I already went there - I want to know where THEY got it from and who they are, etc.).
No one has given a straight answer about this yet.
I am patient, though...
;)
-Neb
Hi Gigantus!
What does that mean?
If you are implying that the same number of shorted shares are being "rolled over" then the number would be the same every month. Perhaps I am not getting what you are saying...
Can you add to that?
Thanks!
-Neb
Good Morning airdae1 et al!!!!
That report and the data it contains seem very odd to me. I am sure there is naked shorting going on, or at least it appears that way, but the statistical analysis leaves some questions in my mind.
Please understand this is not bashing or negativity in any way, I am a shareholder. I left a few weeks ago and came back last week, and I am sure glad I did!! I respect the company, its products and those leading it. However, this report looks fishy to me.
I do not know about this company that runs buyins.net, and if anyone has any DD on them it would be helpful. The thing that seemed strange about the report is that the numbers seem to be very consistent from month to month. I thought that any kind of shorted share count would vary slightly from month to month, but in this report EVERY SINGLE MONTH the short volume is EXACTLY 7.7% of the total volume. It is as if someone used Excel to drag down a column to fill it in with data (apologies to non-Excel users who may not know what this means). In other words, it seems fabricated.
Excel users - simply copy the data into Excel, use the text to columns feature to give each data element its own cell. Add a new column after the Total Vol. and Short Vol. columns. In the new column in the first row after the header, divide the Short Vol. by the Total Vol. to get the percentage of Total Vol. that the Short Vol. represents. Drag it down for the rest of the rows and you will see the same value appear in every cell. No extra decimal places required - they are all exactly the same.
My point is that every month from November 05 there has been exactly 7.7% shares shorted per month. This just doesn't sit well. Who made up this data, can it be verified, and is this something that Don is paying almost $1,000 per month of our money to them to put out this report? Has anyone checked any other equities from this site to verify it? I did not because every move on the site asked me for membership, etc. I was not going to join anything until I know what it is all about.
Or maybe my math is wrong and I am missing the whole point...
I am very excited about where CTUM is heading, and I do not want the bashers, etc. to pick this apart and introduce all the FUD like they do on some of the other boards, so if anyone has anything to add or if you could educate me in this, I would be grateful. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this.
Let's make it a good day today - green and happy are the two prerequisites for sunset tonight!
-Neb
