2006 Feb 15, The other thing we build is the server software to help manage this, because once we have this in the machine, how do we turn it on and use it for strong authentication? Another very important thing to understand is back in 1998 and ’99 there was a big push to add PKI. Everybody remembers Baltimore Technologies and a bunch of other players. That massive rise in market capital around PKI, facilitated building PKI support into all networking equipment and it never has gone away. So every CISCO router supports PKI. Every Juniper router does, Checkpoint firewall… This is the hardware PKI token on the client side. So this provides interoperability with anybody who ever supported the public key standards, which is about 80 to 90% of all networking equipment today. I can configure out of the box to work with Trusted Computing.
Thank you for your time.

Intel (2003), Dell (2005), ST Microelectronics (2006), Gateway (2006), Acer (2008),
I agree that Toshiba, Fujitsu and Hitachi are likely the other 3.
2009 Jan 27, WAVX today announced its support for a new industry specification to enable stronger data protection and help organizations comply with increasingly tough regulations aimed at preventing a data breach. The first public version of the Trusted Computing Group's Opal security subsystem storage specification was announced today, giving vendors a "blueprint" for developing self-encrypting drives that secure data. Wave has developed or is working on Opal-compliant FDE solutions with Fujitsu, Toshiba and Hitachi, along with its currently shipping FDE solution with Seagate.

I have to question some of the "logic" in this argument:
"Thus, market makers must sell a security to a buyer even when there are temporary shortages of that security available in the market."
IMHO if there is a shortage of shares to buy or sell than the price should fall or rise in order to entice owners to meet the market demand... especially in this age of computerized trading.
How in the world does a market maker make such decisions when hundreds of thousands of shares are being transacted in seconds. We are in the hands of programmed trading. Does programmed trading even pay attention to the availability of shares?
I would appreciate it if anybody has a good line on academic literature that addresses this.
As kids we would build model airplanes powered by large rubber bands. Wind the propeller a few hundred times and the plane would take off on a wonderful flight.
I see all this shorting as the winding up of a great propeller that is soon going to be released.

Today:
Seagate Technology plc (NASDAQ: STX), the world leader in hard disk drives and storage solutions, and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced memory technology, today announced that they have entered into a joint development and licensing agreement.
Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop and cross-license related controller technologies
for solid state drive (“SSD”) storage devices to attain the high levels of performance, reliability and endurance demanded by enterprise storage applications.
2009 Apr 16, Wave Systems and Samsung announced today new self-encrypting solid state drives that automatically encrypt information as it is saved to the drive, “an industry first” for SSDs, the companies say. While full disk encryption is a standard feature on typical HDDs, SSDs are a different story. Samsung’s drives — which come in 256-, 128- and 64 GB flavors — are bundles with Wave’s EMBASSY management software and “are now available through at least one major OEM,” which some say is Dell.

SS:(SRA, 2nd Annual Winter Technology Conference in San Francisco)
One of our more interesting partnerships has been Seagate. So Seagate decided to build full disk encrypting drives. What’s that? It’s a hard disk; in the drive controller they have added security in hardware, where all the data bits spinning on the platters of your disk are now encrypted. Which means that if you leave your laptop in the cab while going to the airport you can’t take the drive out of the laptop, plug it into another computer and just read the drive. Because that bypasses all the authentication into Windows. So they’ve built this as a standard component to the drive. They’ve added very few cents ultimately to the drive.
At these bargain basement prices I am selling other stocks with losses and picking up more WAVX. Looks like a bottom to me.
I notice and just bought some more.
Way undervalued here.
As pointed out before, the 1 is likely shorthand for 1000.
"You gotta know when to hold'em."
This is the time to buy.

Has anybody here used the IHub Facebook link to pass on messages from this board? The FB link is a very powerful tool to help spread the WAVX story. Cogent messages will fly very fast on FB.
The numbers are a bit confusing in terms of the last figure in each line. Are these short hand for thousands or more?
Does anybody here have a connection to "Thestreet.com"?
Am curious as to what their take is on WAVX. "Thestreet.com" has big access to public media and talked up Apple extensively this evening on PBS Nightly Business.
I am firmly convinced that WAVX SP is about to take off whether or not 7 mil is reached this quarter... I did vote yes.
The inhouse advertising on the advantages of hardware based security (i.e. WAVX) to the general public has thus far been paltry and very disappointing. My guess is that WAVX shareholders have been at the forefront of this. We will certainly see enterprises signing on, but I see no reason why the general public should not be better informed that this paradigm shift is about to take place.
My own "immediate" circle is numbered in the hundreds and I will no more hesitate to "herald" hardware-based security and the WAVX role in this technology.
So thoughtful. Bless your soul!!
After watching this board daily for some years now, with very occasional contributions, I would like to offer some simple observations:
There is a long term group of regular contributors here, who are very smart and dedicated. They dig, analyze and peer deeply into the mechanics of the WAVX realm and regularly post their thoughtful observations.
A 2nd group of long term irregular contributors here are also very smart. This group readily acknowledges the superior knowledge of many of those who are better informed. This group also uses the resources posted on this board to keep themselves psyched up, to fight the nay-saying of wives and others, and to maintain and even add to their WAVX investment.
A significant third group, also very smart, continuously presses for more concrete results, decrying, with proven experience, an oft present rah rah optimism.
A 4th insignificant group would include newbies and very short term investors who suddenly post and are soon gone.
Interestingly, on occasion, some contributors will change their perspective and shift positions from group to group.
Interesting dynamics.
What is significant is the whole group’s predominant long term perseverance and patience. I thoroughly believe this will all be well rewarded. In March, 2009, WAVX was in the 50 cent range. On March 10, 2010, WAVX closed at 4.31. We are now at the $3 range. A similar spurt could put WAVX to ~25 in 2011.
I do not, but did buy Dec 15 calls.
Big over reaction. Excellent buying opportunity.
Domestic issues made it impossible to listen to the whole CC. Caught the first 10 minutes. Records broken but some disappointment due to "the Iceland issue."
Looks great longer term. Am buying Dec 15 options.
If anybody want to listen to the Seagate CC, and implications for WAVX, the CC starts at 3PM, now

WAVX rated a strong buy!
Seagate report tomorrow should help.

If the Wave Systems hardware based security model works locally, then it certainly works globally. This aspect has been almost totally ignored here. Acceptance by any large corporation, as has already been acknowledged, will feed into the int’l. arena. Trusted computing is a world-wide effort and if successful will be accepted by governments world-wide. Wave Systems might want to consider changing its name in the near future to Tsunami Systems.
So you seem to understand the game pretty well.
At what level do you buy back in?
Or are you just here to play Howard Cosell?
I do not know. Perhaps the China-US connection makes this shell more attractive than others.
It is beginning to appear as if you've been knowingly married to a corpse, i.e. HRCT, for over a year. Perhaps you have some faith in a Lazarus effect. Why else stick around here?
Just watching.
The next Q report is due about Aug 10. Any ideas of what might be announced?
IMHO the WAVX buy signal has been in effect for at least the last 3 years and continues to shine.
I am set!
