Speculation on your part, which I disagree with, but not the part that "JG's sudden departure is health related"
One doesn't have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out that Jim would not have stepped away at this point unless he was having serious health concerns. The family would deserve privacy on this issue at this difficult time.

In announcing his retirement, James Gleasman commented:
"I am delighted to have been instrumental in bringing Torvec and its paradigm-shifting automotive technologies to the public arena. Quite frankly, it has not been easy and it certainly has been a long haul. However, I believe the company is now ready to prosper and has the personnel in place to be really successful. In one sense, Torvec’s mission---to successfully commercialize its products for the benefit of all, especially our shareholders---is just beginning. On the other hand, I stand proud of what we have accomplished, where we are today and where we will be in the very near future."
KNOTBAD thanks for the daily posting of the short info on Torvec, and also for not being intimidated to stop posting it.

Thanks fade.
They can do whatever they want; I have nothing to hide. It will just end up wasting shareholder money in the end...similar to other witch hunts in the past. Hopefully management no longer has the time to waste chasing amateurish nonsense.
I mentioned a few weeks ago that the trading here of Torvec was wacky IMO. The mm is certainly keeping a lid on things for now. I am glad I added in the 30's and low/high 40's

I don't understand why posting about shorting Torvec is ruffling so many feathers here.

Individuals can't short OTC stocks!!! No one on this board is shorting TOVC!!!! You owe us an apology. Just more amateur nonsense on this board. It it TOVC's fault we are still OTC and subject to manipulation by market makers. Get off the soapbox. How about discussing something worthwhile...IMO.
Anyone buying today care to post their buys? I agree that it a very worthwhile topic directly related to Torvec.

More information on Capital Campaigns can be found at www.capitalcampaignsinc.com
I will try one more time. What improvements were made to the current Torsen differential??????
If the answer is none as you have posted, than I do not understand your post about Torvec's Iso-Torque claim.
<< "I recall that Torvec mentioned that the Iso-Torque is better than the old Torsen. That might be true, but is it better than the current Torsen"? >> allnumbers
Dino
If any, what improvements were made to the current Torsen? I read the article as the stated improvement in the Lexus IS-F, is because they are using a Torsen instead of the electric diff, not an improvement to the Torsen
The updated Lexus IS-F complete with a new sat nav system and new colour choices. Oh, and the small matter of a proper limited slip diff instead of the electric diff of the first generation IS-F super saloon.

5PM today Channel 10 will be televising a news clip on Torvec's FTV and Iso-torque technology.
The Democrat and Chronicle Feb 1st Business Brief:
Torvec to receive $1.1M in lawsuit settlement
A lawsuit settlement with a New Hampshire firm is giving Torvec Inc. a boost toward turning its technology into products.
In a recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the Rochester automotive technology company said it had settled a legal fight with Ice Engineering LLC regarding Torvec's licensing of materials technology that would reduce ice's adhesion to glass or plastic.
According to Torvec, Ice Engineering will pay $1.1 million in the settlement.
That money, plus $103,000 coming from the state in research and development tax credits, will go toward commercialization of IsoTorque auto and truck differential technology, according to Torvec.
Torvec currently is building IsoTorque differentials to be evaluated by General Motors, Ford, Tesla and Hyundai for use in their vehicles.

Item 8.01 Other Events. On December 21, 2009, Torvec appointed Robert C. Sotile as Director of Capital Initiatives
Dino
27-Jan-2010 Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.
On January 27, 2010, Torvec executed an agreement to settle its litigation with Ice Engineering LLC concerning certain payments owed to Torvec in connection with the assignment of its ice technology license to Ice Engineering. As a result of the settlement, Torvec will be paid a total of $1,100,000, with $300,000 paid to Torvec on January 27, and an additional $800,000 paid to Torvec by February 26, 2010.
Torvec's board of directors believes this settlement is in the best interests of Torvec since it enables the company to obtain needed dollars and avoid continued protracted litigation.
This influx of dollars, coupled with approximately $103,000 received by Torvec on January 26, 2010, representing refundable New York State research and development tax credits, will enable Torvec to complete the following programs towards the commercialization of the company's IsoTorque technology:
1. In mid-January 2010, the company shipped an IsoTorque differential to General Motors to enable GM to evaluate the IsoTorque in the Cadillac CTS (and perhaps for a new vehicle platform under consideration). While we anticipate GM's evaluation will take place over the next month to six weeks, we will simultaneously move forward with building an IsoTorque for shipment and evaluation by GM for its fleet of front-wheel drive vehicles;
2. The company now will be able to complete its work in developing a design-specific IsoTorque differential for shipment and evaluation by Hyundai for its Genesis Coupe;
3. As a direct result of the company's successful racing efforts and contacts developed through such efforts, the company intends to use a portion of the monies described above to exploit the differential aftermarket in 2010 by marketing, manufacturing and distributing IsoTorque differentials for Corvette C-5 and C-6 cars as well as for the SMS 620 Camaro sports cars. According to the company's research, up to 380,000 C-5 and C-6 Corvettes have been produced since 1997 and up to 80,000 current-generation Camaros were produced in 2009.
4. These funds will enable the company to complete IsoTorque units for shipment and evaluation by Ford Motor Company for its fleet of front-wheel drive vehicles, including the very popular Ford Taurus and the Ford Edge family of vehicles as well as for shipment and evaluation by Tesla Motors, a leading-edge electric car manufacturer, for its Roadster.
In addition these monies will also assist the company move forward with the Torvec-SEAL
program adapting our constant velocity joint technology for use in the worldwide mining industry. This program has been specifically commissioned by a significant West Virginia mining corporation----Eastern Mining & Industrial Supply company of Chapmanville, West Virginia.
Finally, these monies, coupled with the anticipated success of the programs detailed above, will enable the company to continue all of its commercializing efforts with all of our other technologies-----including the FTV-Air Force program which the company anticipate will shift into high gear after we ship the FTV, as modified in accordance with Air Force specific requests, back to Panama City in early February, 2010.
Item 8.01 Other Events. On December 21, 2009, Torvec appointed Robert C. Sotile as Director of Capital Initiatives. Mr. Sotile has had extensive entrepreneurial experience and considerable background in capital development since 1994 as president and chief executive officer of numerous companies in the medical and pharmaceutical industries. He is presently CEO and CFO of PharmedUSA where he has developed strategic business opportunities in delivering medications to institutions at significant savings.
As Torvec’s Director of Capital Initiatives, Mr. Sotile will interface with his significant portfolio of clients in the medical and pharmaceutical fields in order to actively promote Torvec and its technologies.
Mr. Sotile is a large, long term Torvec investor who has enthusiastically agreed to furnish his considerable expertise to Torvec in a non compensated capacity.
Hyundai is also in the mix, I liked seeing that info.
2. The company now will be able to complete its work in developing a design-specific IsoTorque differential for shipment and evaluation by Hyundai for its Genesis Coupe;
However you spend it, I hope everyone enjoys their evening.

Todays Press Release extremely helpful to Mr Sotile in promoting Torvec. "The going concern notice" or as previously referred to as "that 900 pound gorilla sitting in the room" is now not hanging over his promotion of Torvec. Let's hope we go higher from here faithful Torvec longs

Hey Mikey TOVC.OB.....Current News
January 27, 2010
On January 27, 2010, Torvec filed a Current Report (Form 8-K) with the SEC to announce that the company has settled its litigation with Ice Engineering LLC concerning certain payments owed to Torvec in connection with the assignment of the ice technology license to Ice Engineering. As a result of the settlement, Torvec will be paid a total of $1,100,000 by February 26, 2010.
Our board of directors believes this settlement is in the best interests of Torvec since it enables the company to obtain needed dollars now, avoid protracted litigation and, in all probability based upon our projected budgets for 2010, enable us to eliminate the “going concern” language from our financial statements we will file for calendar year 2010.
We believe this influx of dollars, coupled with the additional $103,000 we received yeaterday as a result of refundable New York State research and development tax credits and federal government dollars jointly made available to us and Rochester Institute of Technology under the “SEAL” program, will enable us to complete the following programs resulting in the commercialization of our IsoTorque technology:
1. As stated in our January 8, 2010 CEO Update, we shipped an IsoTorque differential to General Motors to enable GM to evaluate the IsoTorque in the Cadillac CTS (and perhaps for a new vehicle platform under consideration). While we anticipate GM’s evaluation will take place over the next month to six weeks, we will simultaneously move forward with building an IsoTorque for shipment and evaluation by GM for its fleet of front-wheel drive vehicles;
2. We also now will be able to complete our work in developing a design-specific IsoTorque differential for shipment and evaluation by Hyundai for its Genesis Coupe;
3. As a direct result of our successful racing efforts and contacts developed through such efforts, we intend to use a portion of the monies described above to exploit the differential aftermarket in 2010 by marketing, manufacturing and distributing IsoTorque differentials for Corvette C-5 and C-6 cars as well as for the SMS 620 Camaro sports cars (refer to the Camaro initiative released to the media by SMS Supercars of Corona, Calif.). Please note---- up to 380,000 C-5 and C-6 Corvettes have been produced since 1997 and up to 80,000 current-generation Camaros were produced in 2009.
4. These funds will enable us to complete IsoTorque units for shipment and evaluation by Ford Motor Company for its fleet of front-wheel drive vehicles, including the very popular Ford Taurus and the Ford Edge family of vehicles as well as for shipment and evaluation by Tesla, a leading-edge electric car manufacturer, for its Roadster.
These monies will also assist us move forward with the Torvec-SEAL program adapting our constant velocity joint technology for use in the worldwide mining industry. Please recall that this program has been specifically commissioned by a significant West Virginia mining corporation----Eastern Mining & Industrial Supply company of Chapmanville, West Virginia.
And, obviously, these monies, coupled with the anticipated success of the programs detailed above, will enable us to continue all our commercializing efforts with all of our other technologies-----including the FTV-Air Force program which we anticipate will shift into high gear after we ship the FTV, as modified in accordance with Air Force specific requests, back to Panama City in early February.
We will be discussing all of these significant matters at our upcoming shareholders meeting this Thursday night, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Casa Larga Vineyards.
Over the past year, our stock has taken quite a beating (affecting myself, my family and the rest of the board of directors in excess of millions of dollars) due to the malaise currently affecting the auto industry, the economy in general and other circumstances largely beyond our control. And, in fact, we are not where we expected to be since a number of projects did not develop the way we thought they would. However, our losses in Torvec stock are unrealized since we held on to our shares. We did not sell our Torvec shares since we are confident our stock price will rebound in 2010 as the result of success with the projects discussed above as well as success with other overtures, such as the FTV-Air Force Advanced Combat Firefighting Vehicle program.
We look forward to seeing all of you at our shareholders meeting tomorrow night.
Sincerely,
James Gleasman
CEO
I've noticed alot of ask slapping recently, which would support the thought that someone is accumulating shares. But I am puzzled by yesterdays trades. 50% of yesterdays trades are 50 cents or higher yet I am able to buy 2275 shares at .4109.
Price Shares traded
.50 2000 1st Trade
.51 100
.51 2000
.4109 775
.4109 1500
.47 1958
.4109 2000
.51 500
.51 4,300
.51 500
.43 500
.43 3000 Last Trade
Someone is eager to get shares by paying 51 cents a share when the bid is .33 and the ask .51. While someone was also eager to sell shares for me to buy at .4109.
IMO funding is the issue, and obviously by buying, I am placing my bet that Torvec will in one way or another get funding to send their products off.
I tried for a full week to buy at .41 .42 .43 only to have the bid jump over me .4101 etc and so forth. So yesterday I raised the bid to .48 and bought 13,000 shares.

Wacky trades today on Torvec.....
Surprisingly I buy 2275 shares of Torvec today for a close friend at 0.4109 and then the very next trades, a half hour later, others pay 0.51 each for over 5,000 Torvec shares.
(The order was for 4,233 shares 0.48 limit, the rest filled at 0.47)
Maybe the mm's left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Trucker we have new a phrase, "end of story" replacing "let's move on"
I agree with Buytovc's thoughts.
<< over the past 10+ years have seen many ideas floated here I'm just stating one of mine, you don't have to agree or even like it, I wasn't looking for anyone's approval >>
Buytovc, I have minimal contact with Torvec myself. My thoughts expressed are my own.

I hope to see you there Sammy. I look forward to some conversation about Torvec with you, and a few other shareholders who post here.
Two weeks from tonight.

It is of course your opinion
Off Topic Definition of Rumor <<Then cite the posts that definitively says both:
1. That there was absolutely positively going to be a C.A. suit.
2. That there absolutely positively was not going to be a Shareholders meeting this year.>>
A rumor or rumour (see spelling differences), is often viewed as "an unverified account or explanation of events circulating from person to person and pertaining to an object, event, or issue in public concern" (33)[1] However, a review of the research on rumor conducted by Pendleton in 1998 found that research across sociology, psychology, and communication studies had widely varying definitions of rumor.[2] Thus, rumor is a concept that lacks a particular definition in the social sciences. But most theories agree that rumor involves some kind of a statement whose veracity is not quickly or ever confirmed. In addition, some scholars have identified rumor as a subset of propaganda, the latter another notoriously difficult concept to define. A pioneer of propaganda studies, Harold Lasswell defined propaganda in 1927 as referring "solely to the control of opinion by significant symbols, or, to speak more concretely and less accurately, by stories, rumors, reports, pictures, and other forms of social communication" (1927:9).[3]Rumors are also often discussed with regard to "misinformation" and "disinformation" (the former often seen as simply false and the latter seen as deliberately false
Dread, it does not become fact because you post "end of story" and the survey was taken down.
Rumors were spread on this message board there would be a class action lawsuit brought against Torvec and also that there was not going to be a shareholders meeting this year
The reader of this board is not required to sort out what is posted as "sarcastic" or posted as truth. Now you can move on if you like.

16 took the survey At least you two didn't. That brings us to 18. There are only 59 bookmarks set to this TOVC board. Any way you look at it, it is a very limited number of potential investors who read this board.
Why has the survey been taken down and what were the results? Or am I having a computer problem?
Hi keepthefaith, I don't know what the stock price will do Monday with the rumors circulating about the class action lawsuits coming. Did you take the survey that dread has put up about joining a rumored class action suit? I know there are people who would just as soon see the stock price low so they can continue to accumulate at these levels.
