Torvec to receive $1.1M in lawsuit settlement
A lawsuit settlement with a New Hampshire firm is giving Torvec Inc. a boost toward turning its technology into products.

In a recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing, the Rochester automotive technology company said it had settled a legal fight with Ice Engineering LLC regarding Torvec's licensing of materials technology that would reduce ice's adhesion to glass or plastic.

According to Torvec, Ice Engineering will pay $1.1 million in the settlement.

That money, plus $103,000 coming from the state in research and development tax credits, will go toward commercialization of IsoTorque auto and truck differential technology, according to Torvec.

Torvec currently is building IsoTorque differentials to be evaluated by General Motors, Ford, Tesla and Hyundai for use in their vehicles.
