The "cradle of civilization," as the ancient land of Iraq is known, could soon rock the Arab and Islamic world.
An interim constitution approved Monday by the US-controlled Iraqi Governing Council includes rights, power-sharing, and freedoms mind-boggling to most Arabs, who mainly live under authoritarian regimes.
And the fact that the 25-member council, made up of Shiites, Sunnis, and Kurds, all subsumed their religious or ethnic identities to Iraqi unity and shared principles is an encouraging sign that Iraq could become a model of governance in the region.
The most difficult issue - the role of Islam - was handled by a compromise that calls for no law to be passed that would contradict the basic tenets of Islam. That's better than integrating Islamic law into a constitution.
Iraqis still need to make this document their own, because the US had a heavy hand in its making. Elections by next January will create a government that can craft a more legitimate document. With Shiites in the majority, there's still a chance that Islamic law could be made the law of the land.
The second-biggest compromise was to allow ethnic Kurds in the north to have their own militias and a great deal of autonomy. Many issues still need to be resolved, but for now these concessions can keep Iraq whole.
The council also set a goal (rather than a quota) for 25 percent (rather than 40 percent) of legislative seats to be filled by women. If successful, Iraq would be far ahead of the US on that.
The council's success bodes well for the next step of forming a post- occupation government. With the principles set, the normal politics of an unnormal Arab democracy can now begin to blossom.

Got this off Yahoo. Looks like MOBL is a way to get some cash to throw back into QBID when it runs again.
There is a gathering momentum play for MOBL as there was for GTEL and GLBT when they were under .06, but MOBL has much fewer O/S's than GTEL and GLBT. Estimated public float is 104 million shares. Here is the DD from a few weeks back.
Why a “Buy”.

AOL plans to re-enter China
www.chinaview.cn 2004-02-29 15:40:22
BEIJING, Feb. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Just months after pulling out of its high-profile $200 million joint venture in China, Time Warner Inc.'s America Online unit said on February 27 it is in talks to re-enter the world's most populous market.
"We're in some talks for something in China," Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Miller said. "It's a different business model."
Miller would not be more specific about the nature of the new model, except to say AOL would invest far less than it did in its previous China joint venture with the nation's No. 1 PC maker Legend Group Ltd.
Legend Group Ltd, China's largest computer maker, said on January 7 that it has bought a 49 per cent stake held by Time Warner, formerly AOL Time Warner Inc, in their Internet joint venture. The purchase means the Beijing-based company has ended its partnership with the world's leading media firm.
Miller added he hopes that a new deal can be reached within a year.
Likely candidates could include China's mobile phone giants of China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd and China Unicom Ltd; and its top two fixed line carriers, China Telecom and China Netcom, which have both spent millions of dollars over the last two years to build out their high-speed Internet networks.
Other partners could include China-based online media firms like Sina.com, Sohu.com and NetEase.com which have all become profitable in the last two years and were some of the best performers on the Nasdaq in 2003.
All have relied on a combination of paid services, most notably short-text messaging to mobile phones and online games, to boost their non-advertising businesses that now account for more than half of total revenue.
America Online's return to China would come as a quick about-face for the firm, following Legend's disclosure in January that it bought out AOL's stake in the stalled project.
The pair formed the venture with much fanfare nearly three years ago, but it never began commercial operations due to what Legend said were rapid changes in China's Internet market.
In January, Legend also unveiled a partnership with China Telecom to promote broadband Internet access on the mainland, a market that analysts say enjoyed triple-digit growth in 2003. Enditem

(O/T): I understand that the expression of national pride, support of our elected administration, and the willingess to help others in bondage to a vicious dictator abroad is found very disturbing by our resident socialists and pacificists - who are so well protected by the system here at home. World events (..i.e.: News..), however, have a decided and constant effect on the USA market. Saddam's capture resulted in a rise in the DOW, and so will bin Ladin's.
As I recall, you were the one who made this personal/political. So keep your opinion to yourself - or don't post them directly to me - unless you're willing to receive a response. It's called a "..disucssion..", or perhaps a 'defensive retort' if the query is actually a personal attack.
John
O/T: It seems that our old QBID SEC Bubba, '..charltuna..', has made his move into the movies as well. Of course, with Robert Duval as a neighbor, that's understandable.
http://mm.dfilm.com/mm2s/mm_route.php?id=1637428
Everybody want to be a comedian.....!!!
John
OBTW: Congrats...!!!
You seem to have scored a starring role in an upcoming QBID "..Ready fo Prime Time.." quality mini-movie.
Cute 'mustache' there, Sport...!!

.
It's my understanding that he left you a special little deposit this morning, "..Bon Apetite'.."!!!
I really need to compliment you on your choice of a signature logo, it graphically encompasses the content and value of most of your offerings.
John
O/T: Oh crap. Unless you can show us where another airplane-bomb has hit another USA building, dam, or powerplant, it would appear that enough has been being done to sufficiently stop the Al Quaeda efforts prior to Osama's final capture.
Saddam was backing and funding Osama, the Palistinian suicide bombers, etc. - not too mention murdering Iraqi's on a wholesale basis. If you think Hitler was a "..not-nice guy.." Saddam Hussein and his sons were bloody butchers by comparison. They all did a lot of the torturing, rape and murder personally; because they all "..enjoyed.." it.
Perhaps you think that putting untried and unconvicted people into a "..tree chipper.." feet first in the basement of a jail is acceptable, but I sure don't.
Qucky Qadaffi didn't cave in because Osama got shut down, he put out the White Flag because his Bubba's Saddam-&-Sons got wasted and or jailed in Iraq.
Please try to get a grip on the big picture, as opposed to campaign rhetoric pushed by the liberal media.
John
No extra charge.
I am absolutely convinced that QBID could kick arse and take names if it could reach the intended audience - with the massive amount of advertising money available to push product to that demographic.
I'm equally convinced that unless someone slams "..Feahwuss Fwankie.." up side the head with an oak 4x4 until he can repeat the Webster's definition of "...FOCUS..." by rote - all may be lost. The last 6+ years of management by "..rabbit trails.." needs to go away - yesterday.
The clocks running, and any competent producer currently on the AIR or CABLE waves could take this idea and run with it on short notice.
John
During a recent interlude spent musing about the humorous things that were a part of most folks' childhood back in the "..good ol' days.." circa 1950-60, I recalled something that resulted in quite a personal chuckle...
As we'd group around the old black-&-white Tube watching Howdy Doody, Buffalo Bob, Clarabelle, Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Greenjeans, Winky Dink & Mighty Manfred, Mighty Mouse, Rocky & Bullwinkle, and others, there was a tune that was sung by someone like Gene Autry that we'd hear fairly often. Something about "..Chief Heap Big Smoke & No Fire.."!!!
It's amazing how history repeats itself...!!!
Considering the total lack of focus, pursuit of silly-arse rabbit trails, and a total failure to date to get programming placed anywhere - for pay........... "..Feahwuss Fwankie.." strikes me as being none other than "...CHIEF HEAP BIG SMOKE & NO SIGNAL...", who has surrounded himself with a gaggle of goombahs that make the previously described group of children's entertainers and puppeteers look like a Think Tank in Washington, D.C by comparison.
"....................................WHERE'S THE BEEF..................................."?!?
John
Thank you, foxy.
Actually it's way past time...!!! And the incessant "..rabbit trail.." diversion of both funds and efforts from achieving that end is exactly why QBID's share price looks like the tax millage rate on a sheep barn in Fudgedunkit, Oklahoma.
Hence, I submit, "....................WHERE'S THE BEEF....................."?!?
John
Exactly how many dozen posts does it take to say what you just covered in one sentence.
It appears to me that repetitive insertions of multiple sources saying the same thing ony serves to shove other discussions off the bottom of the post list.
I would be pleased to post about 50+ links and extended presentations on what I view as the grossly ridiculous positions and behavior of politicians like Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Janer Reno, Jocelyn Elders, James Carville, John Kerry, ad infinitum, etc., AS THEY DIRECTLY RELATE to QBID in my opinion - commonly seen in the Press - if that's the direction this Board is going to take.
The board title says "..Triangle Multi-Media, Ltd, Inc...". If the business discussions and or opinions on the persona involved and the business operations of QBID is not going to be a reasonably level playing field I'd be pleased to point out the disparity to Matt - who seems to be interested in all views on such issues.
FWIW: I think the subject of gay marriage has been rather exhaustively covered. If it's going to be pursued further - it should be on another dedicated Board under a 'non-stock' heading, IMHO.
John
Since gay marriage is neither an ongoing attribute or business function of QBID, perhaps you should consider starting a new iHub Board for the subect. This matter seems to be taking up a lot of what appears to be "..politcal.." space here.
"..Boardz iz ma t-h-a-n-g..", if you need any help.

Hunt for bin Laden heats up
Saturday, February 28, 2004 By Katherine Pfleger Shrader - Associated Press
WASHINGTON -- The United States is rounding up and questioning the relatives of fugitive al Qaeda leaders to generate information on the possible whereabouts of Osama bin Laden and his top deputies. This tactic helped lead to Saddam Hussein's capture.
So far, the information received is unconfirmed and does not mean the terrorist leader's location has been pinned down or his capture is imminent. U.S. officials caution that rumors of significant progress are overstated.
On Saturday, Pentagon and Pakistani officials denied an Iranian state radio report that bin Laden had been captured ``a long time ago' in Pakistan's border region with Afghanistan.
But some U.S. officials do say they have been able to extract useful information from Afghan and Pakistani relatives and friends of al Qaeda fugitives, providing hints on the possible whereabouts of the organization's leaders.
With the weather improving in Afghanistan, the U.S. military has sent troops and technology to the country to aid the search and to give forces on the ground more opportunity to track down bin Laden. He is the United States' most wanted terrorist for his leadership in planning the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
Rounding up relatives for questioning helped bring about the Dec. 13 capture of Hussein, the former Iraqi leader. U.S. officials hope the tactic could lead to information on the whereabouts of bin Laden and his top deputies, especially when combined with information from spy satellites, communication intercepts and prisoner interrogations.
U.S. military officials have said they are planning a spring offensive in Afghanistan in the hopes of capturing bin Laden, former Taliban leader Mullah Omar and their associates.
Meanwhile, American commanders in Afghanistan have expressed new optimism about finding bin Laden. Late last month, U.S. military spokesman Lt. Col. Bryan Hilferty said the military believes it could seize bin Laden this year, perhaps within months.
Other U.S. officials try to temper such optimism.
In a sign of an increased focus on the Afghan-Pakistani border, Pakistani rapid reaction forces have been deployed to selected areas in the region, a mountainous landscape that runs 2,000 miles from the Himalayas in Pakistan's northern territories to the desert of southwestern Baluchistan.
Pakistani officials told The Associated Press on Friday that satellite telephone intercepts from last year indicated al Qaeda members were hiding near the border. Two intelligence officials said participants discussed a man called ``Shaikh' - a code name for bin Laden.
``Some people who were speaking in Arabic have been heard saying Shaikh is in good health,' one of the intelligence officials said.
A U.S. defense official, also speaking on the condition of anonymity, said that Pakistani forces have killed or captured more al Qaeda members than any other U.S. ally. ``We continue to aggressively pursue the remnants of al Qaeda and the Taliban,' the official said.

Jara,
If you're new to this ballgame, post any questions you have to me and I'll take my best shot at answering them. It's kind of unlikely that BTOR would jump from 0.04 to $1 in very short order - but, of course, not impossible. If you plan to buy more shares at 0.03+/- averaging down is usually a good plan. You should be prepared to sell 1/2 of your collection of shares at 0.08 - leaving you with what we call FREE SHARES. If the price continues to go up - whoopee; if it tanks you lost nothing as your holdings are FREE.
There are basically to kinds of penny stocks. Those in active play (..lots of volume and price action..) which we consider MOMO's - momentum plays. The others are cheapies that you collect at the lowest possible prices over time and tuck into your Tomorrow Sock.
Most stocks under $1 are Casino Money Only speculations. The lesser of those are Spare Casino Money Only stocks - i.e.: a raving POS ( aka: doodoo ).
Welcome to the BTOR Board.
John
harley,
Be nice to the new guy, OK.

Reuters Summit-FCC's Martin ponders indecency on pay TV, radio
Wednesday February 25, 6:31 pm ET
By Jeremy Pelofsky
NEW YORK, Feb 25 (Reuters) - U.S. regulators should consider whether radio and television services carried by cable and satellite must adhere to indecency standards, Federal Communications Commissioner Kevin Martin said on Wednesday.
Pressure has been building in recent months to address the growing coarseness on television and radio, with some lawmakers and regulators pondering whether the limits on over-the-air broadcasts can be applied to cable and satellite services.
Speaking to the Reuters Technology, Media and Telecommunications Summit, Martin noted that shock jocks Opie and Anthony, fired after a stunt involving sex in famous places, were now on satellite radio.
"I think you are hearing from the radio side the complaint that 'We'll live by whatever rules, but we think the rules have to be fair to everyone who is in this medium,' and you're hearing from the broadcast television side as well," he said.
"I think that's a legitimate issue, which is why I think we need to try to take a look on a wider survey," Martin said.
Satellite radio and television providers are licensed by the FCC, which could potentially hold them accountable, he said. But he conceded that companies like Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (NasdaqNM:SIRI - News) could argue that since consumers pay for their products, they would not have to comply.
FCC officials have said court decisions have given cable and satellite companies free-speech protections much like newspapers.
Congress so far has only authorized the FCC to go after the over-the-air broadcasters, since they hold licenses to use the public airwaves, but lawmakers have questioned whether the agency should also be looking at channels higher on the dial.
The FCC has been clamping down on indecency incidents on television and radio in recent months, and the issues leapt onto the front burner after singer Janet Jackson exposed her bare breast during the NFL Super Bowl earlier this month, prompting promises of stiffer fines and demands for reform.
Martin renewed his call for the FCC to affirm local television stations' right to offer alternative programming if they object to a show and for cable companies to allow customers to block channels they find offensive and not have to pay for them.
"Cable companies need some way to empower parents and families to have more choice," Martin said. "I think that it has the potential to be a problem when they are receiving things they object to and have to pay for that."
His comments come a day before six network television and radio executives are due to go before a congressional subcommittee for another grilling on indecency.
Lawmakers are contemplating legislation that would increase fines for indecency incidents sharply.
Earlier on Wednesday Clear Channel Communications Inc. (NYSE:CCU - News), the largest owner of U.S. radio stations, said it would enforce a new zero-tolerance policy against disc jockeys who commit indecency violations, one day after firing a popular on-air personality.
In that case, the FCC has proposed fining Clear Channel $755,000 for a broadcast of Bubba the Love Sponge that contained purported cartoon characters describing explicit sexual activities at a time when children were likely to be listening.
Clear Channel also said it would also conduct in-house training for employees and mete out automatic suspensions to anyone the FCC alleges has violated indecency rules.
(News from the Reuters Technology, Media and Telecommunications Summit will be delivered throughout the day from Wednesday to Friday to Reuters terminals and to the Reuters.com Web site, http://www.reuters.com)
Here's the newsalert Add Topic page (..if you can see it without being signed up..):

Hi, cp,
Dave G and I are looking for 0.0010. You'll note that the MFMMMs jockeyed the price down to 0.0013 mid-afternoon then let a few 0.0015 buys trickle in at the close. I rather suspect that they wanted to leave the drooling idiots with a positive note to pump over the weekend. The downtrend should begin again on Monday, IMHO.
Unless the HQ can blow out another Fluff-O-Gram by Tuesday, I would expect the price to flutter on down to 0.0010 by about Tueday afternoon - it might take 0.0011 to buy back in, but we'll see. Put a GTC BUY in for 0.0011 and you can always modify your order quickly lower or higher as you feel appropriate.
In the unlikely event they do cough up the cash for another Fluff-O-Gram, you might want to try and snag a chunk at 0.0014+/- and ride the wave. Having a free account at http://www.newsalert.com with QBID in your watchlist marked "..REALTIME..", you will get an email immediately if a F-O-G hits the wires.
If the Fluff-O-Gram has nothing in it about tramsmitting a program to someone who can be called to verify it (..any local tv channel production downlink studio in your neighborhood..), then you'll need to try and bail at the HOD by watching it like a hawk.
Good luck. Until there's some verifiable BEEF, this thing is just a flippers paradise...!!
John
Here are some intriguing questions that those with inquiring minds and who are well-heeled enough to be able to contact the HQ by telephone can pursue..:
1) What frequency and wattage is the uplink signal and presumed demo-programming that QBID is currently sending up to the satellite...???
2) What satellite is this presumed demo-programming signal being aimed at...???
3) What channel on that particular satellite is this presumed demo-programming signal being received on...???
4) What independent ground station, that investors can call, is monitoring the presumed demo-programming signal being broadcast...???
5) What reports on signal, video quality of demo-programming, and reliability have been received back from these independent ground station(s), that investors can call to verify, and what do they say...???
6) Why hasn't QBID-TTN published progress on queries 1-though-5 in their recent Press Releases regarding signal transmission, video quality of the demo-programming, and reliability...???

10) Why are you 'whizzing' away valuable working capital on grossly overly-covered subjects like a "gay marriage documentary", when every other media source in the USA and abroad has already addressed that subject numerous times.

Cool.
I'll be there with ya, Bubba.
I need to overnight some spare retainer change from a new client over the weekend to the ol' Flippin' Factory.

Excellent analysis.
Imagine the marketing time required to contact all those subsidiaries, travel as required, make susccessful presentations, have the legal-schmeegals on both sides revier all the fine prints, then ink the deals, then have to go schmooze the all of advertisers to cough up "..pre-broadcast.." cash for them to hit a mini-market.
Meanwhile - back at the ranch, our hawaiian-shirted, usually sozzled JabbaptheHut clone is blowing $5000+ on a gay marriage documentary re-run that already has or is beingh done by every Tom, Dick and Mary in the existing media complex. Borrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnngggggg..................!!!!
"...GOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo QBID..."!!!

Ha..............
Feahwuss Fwankie's precocious QBID share price is motoring back down towards $0.0010 so we can complete another successful FLIP.
