Adding weekly while PPS is hanging around this area. 7-figures within reach?
if the big boys want to play in the video telephony sandbox, they will pay WGAT big bucks. Right you are. PVSP will also benefit.
WGAT doubles in price. They own the patented technology in this booming sector.
It's the video codec owned by WGAT. It runs on PVSP's network just like it will on AT&T's network. WGAT has the patents and IP. PVSP licenses from WGAT. That's the reality. PVSP is a nice company, but if you're talking video codec, it's all WGAT. Low compression bits produced by the WGAT engineers and now patented.
You are aware that PVSP does not own the IP rights or patents. WorldGate (WGAT) does. Ojo tech is from WGAT and can be licensed to any player that wants it. It's the best out there. Compare Skype's 8.5B buyout and it's WGAT that will benefit if they decide to sell the patents and technology for a Skype-like buyout. PVSP is licensing the video technology from WGAT.
This should help PVSP
Worldgate Service Assigned Patent
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- Worldgate Service, Trevose, Pa., has been assigned a patent (8,063,928) developed by nine co-inventors for a "videophone system and method." The co-inventors are Hal M. Krisbergh, Meadowbrook, Pa., Joseph E. Augenbraun, Princeton, N.J., Randell E. Jesup, Malvern, Pa., Randall J. Gort, Malvern, Pa., Maire D. Reavy, Malvern, Pa., Navneeth Kannan, Westford, Mass., Whitney D. Blackmon, Holland, Pa., Richard W. Westerfer, Lower Gwynedd, Pa., and David E. Wachob, New Hope, Pa.
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "System and method for providing personal videotelephony in which a plurality of videophones are connected to a communications network that is configured for transmitted video and audio communications. Each of the videophones typically includes a camera, display device, telephone keypad, speaker and microphone all of which are operatively connected. The videophones further include means for selectably receiving and transmitting signals over the communications network, which signals represent images and/or sound, and for selectably displaying the signals representing any received signals representing the images on the display screen, and for playing any received signals representing the sounds on said speaker. Means are also provided for selectably accessing a remote location, such as, but not limited to, another videophone, using information entered or selected by a user of the videophone, and to retrieve the signals representing the images and sounds being transmitted from the remote location. In one or more embodiments the present invention further includes at least one networks operation center to store information related to the operation of the videophones and to facilitate the operation of the videophones."
The patent application was filed on Sept. 1, 2006 (11/514,216). The full-text of the patent can be found at http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parse...
Compare the Ojo/PVSP service to Skype and others. No comparison. WorldGate's technology and patents and PVSP's VVOIP network will make its mark in the booming video market.
Mason, did you know Skype doesn't even own it's own code? WGAT just added two key patents in the past three weeks. PVSP will benefit from those patents.
That's a nice starter order from HSN
If they videophone does well, expect the orders to increase IMO
HSN reportedly ordered 1000 Ojo Visions
Ojo phone manufacturer reports to us that HSN has ordered 1,000 Ojo phones, and Bausch & Lomb has ordered 200 Ojo phones and is looking to order 400 more. VoX is in discussions with the manufacturer to be the carrier of choice. Currently, other VoIP carriers are utilized for most of the Ojo phones in service. However, those carriers cannot perform certain technical tasks, such as delivering video voice mail, and VoX can.

Mason, you beat me to it. All the video phones companies need low bandwidth technology. WGAT just snagged this huge patent.
WGAT just granted another huge patent
>>A videophone system providing high resolution video transmission between videophones utilizes compressed video signals and audio signals which may be transmitted through any communications network, with the system providing real time adaptive error recovery and synchronization between the audio and video signals to produce high quality video images and sound. The system is highly resilient, adapting in real time to changing conditions in a network or to network errors due to data corruption or loss that can be produced, for example, by noise or line losses, thereby substantially eliminating fitter, signal packet loss or delay, or other errors which produce signal degradation.<<
G3 Connect (white labeling the Worldgate Ojo business video phone) and VoX announced a deal in June. I wonder why this wasn't PR'ed on the PVSP site?
http://www.cnsg-usa.com/index.php/about-converged-network-services-group/cnsg-in-the-news/113-g3-connect-launch-agent-program
Mason, investing in both companies could be a really good hedge. While WGAT is ready to explode, PVSP is undervalued in this market cap range.
>>7. The videophone system of claim 1 wherein said videophone interface unit includes means for selectably routing an audio and video call made on the videophone on the broadband network, and an audio only call made on the videophone on the broadband network as a VoIP call.<<
This is the biggest claim approved for WGAT
Read it and weep. The patent is black and white and many feel the Facetime technology is WGAT's already. WGAT wrote this patent before Apple even knew what a smartphone was and before Skype was invented LOL
http://www.patentstorm.us/applications/20070120968/fulltext.html
You are right. There is no exclusive with PVSP. WGAT could sell the videophones to all service providers. If WGAT remains independent, they will license the rights to Apple, Google, Microsoft/Skype,etc instead of selling the Ojo Vision videophone as a whole. This is where a PVSP merger could come into play. Just a thought.
WorldGate will probably be sold in the coming days for big bucks, but if they decide to remain independent, PVSP could be a nice service piece to complete the company. WGAT's expense on the service side was too expensive so they shut down Ojo Services in March and gave all the customers to PVSP. We'll see how this new patent plays out, but the patent covers everything from wireless videophones to video functionality. Hang in there with PVSP. They have a nice infrastructure for VoIP service and the current market cap is still very cheap. IMO
Could WGAT and PVSP merge? WGAT will do the licensing and PVSP could provide the service. Just a thought. Here's another interesting piece to the new WGAT patent just issued. This could be very big.
>>One embodiment of the invention provides for a portable unit that is wireless and can easily be moved to multiple locations<<
This patent was first applied for way back in 2003 and modified in 2007 before videtelephony was even known. WGAT now has a stranglehold on the entire VT market. WGAT shutdown its service operations in March and handed all their service customers to PVSP. Now that they have the broad VT patent, they most likely will be a huge licensing company to the likes of Apple, Microsoft/Skype, Fring, Tango, Google, etc. They also could decide to sell for a Skype like valuation. This patent changed the face of WGAT overnight and PVSP will benefit indirectly or directly if they merge.
PVSP is the first to introduce video messaging for what we call the Ojo Vision model. However, the Ojo Vision model is indentical to the ACN IRIS already developed for ACN by WGAT. The IRIS has had VM and caller ID since June 2010. The older Ojo models have had video messaging and caller ID for years. WGAT is the original developer of residential videophones and now they were just awarded the broad patent for method of use, video storage, VM, video caller ID, and much more. PVSP is a good VoIP company and better than most VoIP companies (IMO), but it's the video phone developed/patented by WGAT that drives the functionality. This new patent will help PVSP but will explode the WGAT PPS once the patent is known to the market. The notice of allowance for the patent was just announced on June 29 on the USPTO website and mailed to the company. It's not even out to the general public in a PR yet!! Go PVSP and go WGAT!!
duelittle
The Ojo video phones have had video messaging since there inception in 2005. The ACN IRIS video phones (also developed by WGAT) also have had video messaging since June 2010. WGAT now has the patent. Apple Facetime does not due video messgaing (yet) but they do have video caller ID which is as of June 29 is now patented by WGAT. MSFT/Skype, Android, Facetime, Fring, Tango are all affected. This was big for WGAT
Video cloud storage is also part of the new patent. WGAT's stock is ready to explode and PVSP has access to the technology!!
Worldgate's new patent includes video messaging and video caller identification!! Just posted on the Yahoo WGAT board. Skype, Apple, Android and all video companies are affected. This new patent makes WGAT invaluable IMO
Video Voice Mail
[0052] In one embodiment of the invention, videophone 200 provides a video enabled answering machine function. When a video call comes in, if the receiving party is either unavailable (as detected by waiting a predetermined number of rings), or if the receiving party is on another call, videophone 200 provides a message to the calling party. This message may be either a default message, e.g., "The party at phone number xxx-xxxx is busy right now, please leave a message") or a previously recorded custom message by the receiving party. In either case, the message can include both audio and video information. In one embodiment of the present invention multiple messages can be stored, especially through the techniques describe above in the section entitle Network Operating Center 211. These messages can be different for the various users of a videophone 200, and they cab be tailored to be unique for one or more particular calling parties (as recognized by the caller ID functionality as described below).
[0053] In one embodiment of the invention, videophone 200 is configured such that the calling party can leave a message comprising video, audio, or a combination of video and audio information. When the receiving party plays the message back, conventional voice mail functions are available, such as selectively deleting messages, saving messages, forwarding messages, etc. In addition, according to the invention, VCR-like functionality is also available during message playback, including fast forward and reverse scan, pause, and slow motion. In one embodiment of the present invention an incoming audio only caller can default to leave an audio voice mail, while an incoming video caller can default to leave a video/audio voice mail.
[0054] The video voice mail messages may be stored within the videophone 200 or remotely such as at the NOC 121. Through traditional techniques message indicator can be provided to inform the user of the existence of mail and the incoming mail can be retrieved, saved and deleted through the user interface and control system of the present invention. Similarly custom outgoing messages can be stored, retrieved, edited and deleted. Through the use of the NOC 121, remote access to these functions is also possible from other videophones 200.
Video Caller ID
[0055] Conventional caller ID functions provide the phone number and name of the calling party. The techniques for providing this standard functionality are well known to those skilled in the art. Embodiments of videophone 200 are configured to provide the conventional caller ID functions. In addition, however, according to an embodiment of the invention an image related to the incoming call is provided by a caller's videophone 200. For example, the image presented by the calling videophone can be a person's face. Alternatively, the image can be a business logo, or other type of image. The image can consist of a single frame of information or a multi-frame, multimedia presentation. In any case, the images/audio can be displayed on the receiving party's phone.
[0056] Embodiments of the present invention can combine the caller ID functionality with the automatic directory techniques of the present invention to proved enhanced services as discussed above. For example this combination provides the ability to differentiate audio calls and callers from video calls and callers and modify the caller ID alerts accordingly.

The patent was issued last night. Go to the WGAT Yahoo board for details.
It's Worldgate's patent, but PVSP is using the Ojo video phone.
WGAT now owns the inclusive patent and PVSP can enjoy the ride!!
Big news for WGAT and PVSP on the Patent
Here are the claims allowed:
1. WGAT is starting to move. Manufacture of the Ojo Vision video phone.
Now whether Fanning and Abrams win the bid is another story. They have a great shot IMO
The MySpace information regarding Fanning is 100% true.
Great question Hiphop
>>Mula..does fanning go after WGAT next? They own the patents and the ojo video phone. Is PVSP just once piece of this puzzle?<<
The worldgate owners wanted out of the service business because it was too costly. They announced layoffs and shutdown the service BUT not the development of their Ojo videophones. The Ojo is the best video technology.WGAT will sell the videophones and PVSP will be their service partner. Rumors of Comcast and at&t interest in the ojo tech are also out there. There are also strong rumors the chairman of worldgate and Fanning are buddies. Now that PVSP and WGAT are tied at the hip, I wouldn't be surprised to see involvment from Fanning and his buddies in some manner. Skype sold for $8.5M and the ojo technology is 10x better!! They just need funding and a strong partner. PVSP is a great start and Fanning could be eyeing Ojo. IMO
Fanning has his eyes on the Ojo product that worldgate developed and PVSP has access to. Back in 2005, worldgate and motorola had an exclusive partnership on the Ojo but it fell through because no one knew what videophones were. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Fannings approach Facebook with this tech.
>>Their technology speaks for itself if they are adding and replacing competitors products. I think their are bigger plans for their technology with Napster founder and friends.<<
I just read where Worldgate has picked up Xerox as a new customer for their videoconferencing product. Large companies are moving to WGAT and eventually the PVSP service. Bausch and Lomb is another Worldgate customer that will be using the PVSP service.
Updated WGAT information
VIDEO PHONE OPPORTUNITY
VoX has signed Globalpreneurs as its marketing agent to sell the Ojo Vision Digital Video Phone to consumers and businesses. The Ojo Vision is a robust full-featured phone that runs extremely well on the VoX VoIP network. The video phone is very easy and fun to use, even for consumers who have poor technical skills, because it is a plug and play device. It plugs into an Internet connection and an electrical outlet. It allows people to see people that they otherwise would not see, and there is no one-or two- second delay in voice and video transmission like there is with certain video services that run over the Internet on a PC.
The Ojo phone manufacturer reports to us that HSN has ordered 1,000 Ojo phones, and Bausch & Lomb has ordered 200 Ojo phones and is looking to order 400 more.
VoX is in discussions with the manufacturer to be the carrier of choice. Currently, other VoIP carriers are utilized for most of the Ojo phones in service. However, those carriers cannot perform certain technical tasks, such as delivering video voice mail, and VoX can.
PSVP is using Fring today, but they will be going to the upcoming WGAT mobile video app when it's released soon. It will be the same high quality video as the Ojo Vision phone and will do circles around Fring and others. WGAT and PVSP (VOX) are teaming up to become a powerful force IMO
>>The demand for video calling services like Apple's Facetime, Skype and Fring, has skyrocketed over the past two years
Nice independent article mentioning Fring. Looking good for PVSP<<
HSN is recent.
