Maybe you can confirm a rumor I just heard? "T Boone just stopped rolling in his grave"
According to the futures market, the imaginary oil in my imaginary ships just gained 10%. With my luck, I'll probably be broke by morning.
First rule of trading: Stop counting chickens. If I was looking at the futures tonight, I just hope they hatch in the AM.
It's a great place to put your money if you want to leave your grandchildren with a socialist country fighting endless wars. What else would the government do with Trillions at these rates?
OTOH, the war on warming and corona could be endless without so many young people at risk. I'm already fighting in both wars and I'm not so young.
Probably a better idea to talk about contango, and the upcoming rollover. OTOH, maybe nobody here understands that.
Oil from Saudi, and no body knows where it beheading.
This is great. I have imaginary ships to load with imaginary oil.
So what just happened? The futures are up. I can make airplanes with my paper oil shares?
Yeah, If there was a conversation about the R/S he would be clueless. The value doesn't change, just the number of shares. What a maroon!
I would put money in bonds if they paid a decent rate. I'll take the risk of stocks until they do. Sell bonds, clear the money market, buy stocks. Even commodities. I got a boatload of oil for cheap.
I figure it's the only way to SAVE AMERICA from socialism. They only want 1.28% for a 30 year bond? They either have too much money, or they don't believe in Capitalism. You need a healthy rate on the bonds or most people won't save for retirement. Then they start collecting checks from the government.
I spose the government can pay them, too. Just issue more bonds.
What they call "sovereign debt," not really the "bond market" so much as the money that governments use to fund wars. Can you imagine? All those people funding Donald Trump's administration. I am actually for the Donald, but not for giving him that much money to spend.
This ballona virus is so scary, they should just give the oil away.
Grim indeed.
I was able to show half a mill on the ask today. Why not? If they paid the price, I could have invested in Shrimp and Oil. A little profit is all I need. Then they can have the shares.
sell me more.
I hate to pass my ideas online. There's always a but. Everybody's got a big but.
Need to buy as much oil at these prices that we can. Pump it into the depleted wells of Mexico, but get that oil closer to us. We'll use it eventually. Cost is lower than fracking it.
Me, I'll drill the paper. Sell me your UCO.
Decline seems mild with those numbers.
Instead, they are going to print the shares on rolls because all the stores are out of toilet paper.
It's always fun.
Looks like two of the thousands of shareholders bowed out today. Two transactions under 100 shs each, and the guy is bidding for 300K. He's getting closer to his goal. I should show him more than 75 on the ask so he knows they are there, but I'll wait.
I need a bit more than $600 to build the Shrimp Farm.
API report at 4:30, AFAIK. Big draw would be nice, but highly unlikely. If they hold on bad numbers, it's a good sign.
I just want to see it hold that number after 4:30 EDT
Finally have size on the bid. Could use a price bump, though. I don't think anybody with that many shares is selling. Seems futile. 50K is probably overbidding. If he wants a few hundred K, he'll have to pay more.
Yeah, I'm up late again. Watching the Futures. I'm real happy I could buy UCO instead of putting 700 barrels in my back yard.
Just imagine my neighbors, with closets full of toilet paper.
If they end up cancelling the shares, at least put them on a roll.
Trump's right. How long could Saudi and Russia keep cutting their own throats to hurt the frackers? Crazy doesn't even begin to describe it.
"Could be" $30 by the end of the week, too. I try to never underestimate the effect of momentum on the scalpers. They will trade it for a profit whichever direction the wind is blowing. "Value" is not related to the price, and only time will tell where it "will be."
My neck only turned red when I finally gave up the long hair. For some reason, I don't think it looks as good long when it's almost bald. I guess too much conservative thinking burned it and it wouldn't grow that way anymore. I can relate to the hillbilly lifestyle. Raising goats and chickens. Making moonshine.
I think goats and chickens are part of the word definition. If you raise cows, they call you a "rancher," not a Hillbilly.
BTW, I saw the movies about 2 weeks ago. Both of them, Magnificent and Furious. "Cars Don't Fly," but they drop out of planes?
OTOH, the buyer could be Jester, and he sold his land to Elon. Using his cash to vicariously invest in my Shrimp Farm.
I'm going to put some cash there. For sure.
And we haven't ever discussed institutional holders. They get stuck holding the bag sometimes. Which might explain this action. They pump it up to add something to their NAV. Pure fiction.
It does explain why they don't have any bid support. I think. They mark it to last sale, right?
Number of shareholders is a Wall Street myth. Shares held in "street name" by brokers are not counted as separate shareholders. There are probably thousands of individuals with less than 100 shares. I once owned 20% of a company, and the people who keep the records never heard of me. I forgot what you call those guys, but you call them when you want to know the O/S count, and they keep the names of shareholders on file. You know what I mean. I just forgot.
Dirty dozen? Or the Furious 7? Active shareholders? Cars don't fly? Let me ask Elon Musk about that.
I sold some penny stocks held for 3 years to buy it. Maybe I can exercise a little patience?
I would be happy with my 1.54 's if I hadn't been paying $2 last week.
Stacked on the bid, and stacked on the ask. Interesting.
Earl? LOL. A familiar phonetic. Very close to my family. Are you from PennsylTucky, too? I think it's a local dialect.
Ok, so I took their money, and put it into Oil. I put up a paltry sum on the bid, and got more shares. Good plan?
I brought down the ask to see if there are any serious players. C'mon now. Let's run it up. Slap it good.
Shorts own this market, and they push. It goes down. I might take time for people to think long and hard, but they will get to it eventually, and Oil will clear many hurdles. I thought $25 /bbl was gone, but knew shorty would be back. IDK when, but this once in a lifetime price will go away.
I'm sticking to the ETF's too. Physical possession is just too hard for common folks. The Drums in my backyard are for something else.
The shale companies created an NG glut, too. NG is cheap, and I got into it before I took on much oil. Time to get some tanks and store it away for your grandchildren. I know, we think about trading it, not storing it. Who wants a backyard full of oil drums and volatile gas cylinders? Not me. So I drill paper, not shale.
They need the wet gas to make plastic. Plastic should be cheap, too. Maybe they have a futures market for that, but I don't know where. Easy to store plastic.
