Number of shareholders is a Wall Street myth. Shares held in "street name" by brokers are not counted as separate shareholders. There are probably thousands of individuals with less than 100 shares. I once owned 20% of a company, and the people who keep the records never heard of me. I forgot what you call those guys, but you call them when you want to know the O/S count, and they keep the names of shareholders on file. You know what I mean. I just forgot.
