WHISKYLADY: No insurance company is going to compensate you for the loss of you money on the stock that you own. I've been involved in this type of litigation 3 times since I've been in the market since November 1966, the 1st time I got 10 cents on the dollar for my losses. The 2nd and 3rd times I didn't even submit the form to be part of the class action litigation since I learned the first time that the attorneys get most of whatever money is awarded.
lawdawwgg: You can't write off your loss until you sell your shares and no longer own the stock or the company goes belly up and is no longer listed for trading anywhere.
Impossible because the Ex-Div date must be public knowledge in advance of the date.
I expected the Ex-Div announcement before now but so much for my opinion......wrong again.
A Glutton for Punishment. I doubled my position at $0.50 per share. Also bought two Eaton Vance income funds since I'm fully retired and could use some over 6% A.P.R. income. Come on MCIG stock price get going to the up side!
What to buy. I've been in the market since November 1966 and I've never seen such a strange market because I can't find anything to buy except the three stocks that I already own MCIG being one of them. I think the market in general is too high and I have never shorted a stock and I never will short a stock but I have bought some Puts in the past and also traded some Calls. I'm 85 percent in cash and unless I can find something I guess that I will just stay mostly in cash or maybe buy some income stocks like the Eaton Vance Floating-Rate Income Trust to pick up some short term dividends with a cheap stock that the odds of a substantial drop in pps is remote. Being fully retired I've spent a lot of time researching and researching but can't find anything. Hopefully MCIG will move up shortly because of the pending VCIG dividend and their next financial report indicating great sales. Yep a scary market right now at least it is for me. Oh well being in cash is okay but the yield on cash is poor these days!
Starman7: You are welcome. Being in the market from November 1966 to date overall I have made money in the market, paid cash for our new retirement home in May 2008 thanks to the market. Historically I have mostly traded Blue Chips, Sold Covered Calls, and traded Calls and Puts. I have never written any Naked Puts/Calls and I never will, I have only been in penny stocks three times in all of these years and this time is the third time with two marijuana stocks and one high tech computer software stock ( I can't give the symbols because I believe that is against the rules here and I don't want to break any rules ). I really can't talk bad about the penny stocks because the high tech computer software penny stock that I still have 27,000 shares in was a penny stock that went to a little over $4.00 per share when I owned over 100,000 shares and in 2007 and 2008 I sold all but 2,100 shares of it to buy our retirement home and I just recently ( a few weeks ) bought more shares of this company at $0.199 per share to bring my holdings up to 27,000 shares. I firmly believe that money can be made in the market and it is substantially easier today than in my early years of investing without the internet and the only way to get information was subscribing to S&P stock chart books and research research research at the stock brokers office. At least today information ( information is power to make logical well thought out investments ) is readily available on the internet. Back in my early days I had to make my own charts with graph paper and draw the trend lines, had charts hanging all over the walls in the office at home and updated them daily with what my stocks and potential future stocks did that day. My very best to you Starman7 and I sincerely hope that you will not get hurt bad by the news today and I wish the same for all of the investors in this company. May y'all have a great evening and peace be with y'all! Sincerely, Senior Chief
chklingon: I posted this earlier today but in case you didn't see it. I was involved in one of these in the 1980's and the end result was I got 10 cents on the dollar of what I lost on the stock. The second one I got years later I tossed in the trash. I have already signed up with the law firm for this one just for nothing better to do being fully retired but I don't expect even 10 cents on the dollar if the litigation gets that far. The attorneys on the first one got most of the settlement money....oh well that is our legal system.
Hacktheripper: Thanks and you post some informative information. I wish you a profitable investing.
Jeranimo: I have absolutely no idea because I'm too new to owning shares in this company.
Hacktheripper: I read all of your replies but I'm so new to IHub I deleted them by accident....sorry. I do agree with all that you publically replied to my post.
Hacktheripper: How right you are. I was involved in one of these stock class action litigation in the 1980's regarding a stock and when all was said and done I received 10 cents on the dollar of what I lost. The second one of these that I was notified about I tossed in the trash. If this litigation goes anywhere I will be a part of the class action just for something to do/watch but I don't expect to receive anything substantial. I feel so bad for the investors that really got hurt by this, I really do. Most of my liquid resources are in cash and I'm only 15 percent in stocks so I will not get hurt by this if the stock goes to zero.
Yes I did but don't expect anything because the one time in the past that I joined I only received 10 cents on the dollar for what I lost.
I have been in the market since November 1966. I was involved in litigation like this one time before in the mid 1980's and I received 10 cents on the dollar for what I lost. Since then I had the opportunity to be in one more like this but I didn't even bother to join the Class Action Litigation. If there is a Class Action Litigation on this one I will join just for the heck of it because I'm fully retired and have the time to spend. Thankfully in all of my stocks including this one I am only 15.43 percent invested in stocks and the rest is in cash. I am not going to get hurt if this stock goes to zero but I feel sorry for the stockholder that will be hurt by this!
Lucky, mydog: Thanks I was not aware of that. Please provide your opinion the reason the SEC suspended trading.
If the halt was because of Market Maker manipulation we may be okay over time but if stock manipulation was because of any company false statements that resulted in stock manipulation, etc. then my investment in PHOT is gone. The above is only in my opinion and are not based on any fact(s) related to this halt in trading.
Going to be a lot of pressure on marijuana stocks since PHOT was halted by the SEC this morning!
Wow, Roger That he/she should have posted in his/her opinion or should come back on now and add that. This really could be interpreted that he/she has inside information that could lead to some serious trouble.
This slow increase is a lot better than large increases with gaps up! I can see future increases in pps with slow but substantial increases if the Federal government continues to not enforce the Federal marijuana laws. Any strong Federal crackdown on the pro marijuana states ( recreational and/or medical uses ) will have a negative impact on all of the marijuana stocks. I do believe that eventually the use of marijuana will be legalized but at 70 years old it is questionable if I will be around to see it because of my several Agent Orange caused medical problems from being aboard Swift Boats in Vietnam (e.g. cancer surgery February 2013, spine surgery May 2013 that I still have not fully recovered from, and several other AO caused medical problems). Unfortunately my state does not allow medical marijuana so I'm stuck taking daily strong pain medications since June 2005. Being in the "Bible Belt" I believe that my state will be one of the last states to legalize marijuana for medical use and/or recreational use. In my 70 years I have never repeat never used marijuana so heck I may not even like it. Nope didn't even try it in Vietnam because being high on a mission will get ya killed! Maybe someday before Jesus calls me home I will have a "Legal" opportunity to try marijuana to see if it will in fact help my daily pain but although available illegally where I live and I know for a fact that neighbors use it but I will not use it illegally....that is just the way that this old man is. Good luck to my fellow MCIG investors! My apologies for such a long post. Sincerely, Senior Chief
An excellent slow steady accumulation/pps increase today which is very bullish!
The company must publically state the "EX-Dividend Date" and as long as you own the stock on that date you will receive the dividend.
I'm getting killed today but I will hang with all of my stocks including this one and I will not sell my shares!
MD-420: Thanks bunches for your time! Geeeezzzzz I sure wish that it was possible that I could trade some shares in this. Hopefully sometime in the future trading some shares in a MJ index will be possible.
Is it possible to trade shares in the Marijuana Index (see below link). I've been looking and looking but can't seem to find where that is possible. Thanks in advance.

I have been in the market continuously since November 1966. I am 70 years old and today is the first time, if I remember correctly, that I have ever seen not one share available for sale like what I see today for WLGC if the real time ticker is correct that is identifying the Bid/Ask Price/Shares. I don't know what kind of message that is sending; 1). The investors have been in the stock so long that they have just lost interest and will just let their shares ride unit the pps hits $1.00 per share or the company goes bankrupt or 2). Something big is in the wind in the near future so no stock holder is willing to sell even 1 share. Comments/Opinions ?????
Berdman: I've smoked them for decades but until your post I didn't know they also had e-cigars. I also smoke cigarettes and do a little Skoal smokeless tobacco every now and then. Thanks and I'll look for it. I recently bought the wife and I a e-cig and like posted here I spent $160.00 ($80.00 each) for two set-ups. Bought the e-cigs on-line from a company named "Green Smoke." In retrospect too expensive and the cartridges are very expensive! I read here where MCIG product can also be used for regular tobacco....wish I knew that sooner.
Stop4nothing: I really hope that you are correct. I am debt free and have a financially secure retirement but being a little richer for the heirs of the estate would be a good thing. I'm so ate up by being exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam I hope not only that you are correct but also that it is not real long in the future because at 70 years old and in poor health I question how many more days Jesus has planned for me here. I'm long MCIG and other stocks that I can't post because it is against the rules. I'm not short any stock.
I have been in the market since the 1960's and it has been my opinion and experience with stocks awarding dividends (cash and stock) that the ex-dividend date must be announced, must be announced in advanced of the date, and cannot be announced after the date has already passed. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks in advance for your reply.
As a teenager in the late 1950's/early 1960's I was a TV actor in Hollywood, CA and also had some experience in TV interviews in the 2005 to 2008 time frame. Yes they will edit what they shot. In some cases it is hours of shooting to come up with only 5 to 15 minutes of actual footage that goes on the air. Rest assured what is aired with be the best footage shot especially because it will be broadcast on a major well know network.....CNBC!
I wonder how much of a pop up in pps we are going to see on Monday?
Bought another 14,700 shares today in two trades one trade of 7,700 shares and one trade of 7,000. Getting back in like I was from 2004 to 2006.
Tounces:
I have been thinking about when I communicated with you in the past about WLGC and just can't remember so I went searching around this WLGC board. I found that I was signing on as Retired Navy and would have signed on that way again but I have been away so long I forgot all of my sign on data so I establish a new account as Senior Chief. Your recent posts got me thinking about just how many share of WLGC did I own in the past so I started researching my computerized tax records and just in 2007 I sold 60,000 shares of WLGC in order to pay cash for our retirement home that we bought in May 2008. Without doing a lot more digging I'm estimating that I owned well over 100,000 shares which is a lot more than the 12,300 shares that I own today. I sent our Colorado friend an email about two other stocks (Marijuana Stocks) that I like and that I bought just a few days ago but he has not replied so I'm guessing that he is still out of the country on vacation. I hope that you are doing well, I'm all ate up with several medical problems caused by being exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam (cancer surgery February 2013 and spine surgery May 2013 that I still have not recovered from so I'm pretty much home bound). You have a good day and hope to chat with ya later.
Well finally a little volume and the stock is trading. Sure would like to hear that the company has signed a contract with some handset maker or something, anything to bring back some interest in this stock!
At 20k shares now and will hold and hope for the run up.
I have been continually in the market since November 1966, mostly Blue Chips. Yesterday was only the second time in my life that I bought a stock right at the low price of the day when before the market opened I put in a Limit, Day Order, Fill All or None, for 1,000 shares of MCIG at $0.66 to double my position from 1,000 shares to 2,000 shares so my average price now is $0.73 per share. I'm really new to this under $5.00 per share stocks but I'm learning by reading the posts here and doing my normal DD. I'm Long 2,000 MCIG, 1,000 PHOT, 12,300 WLGC, and 98 percent in cash. Difficult investing with the economy what it is, world events, and the situation what it is in America which is why I'm maintaining such a large in cash position. I can see where the Marijuana Sector could be a very rewarding sector to be in and I really like the fundamentals for MCIG (e.g. no debt, SEC regulated/reporting, management, business plan, etc.). Good luck for my fellow MCIG investors and thanks bunches for answering my recent questions in this forum! Sincerely, Senior Chief
Long this stock for the first time a few days ago. Would someone be so kind to advise about a company dividend that I'm reading about here such as; how much of a dividend, cash or stock, when? Thanks in advance for your time and trouble!
30,000 shares you are a better man than I am! I've been in the market since November 1966 primarily in Blue Chips so my 2,000 shares of MCIG, 1,000 Shares of PHOT, and 12,300 shares of WLGC are taking big risks for me, but not risks with money that I can't afford to lose. I'm just really new to this low price stock trading. I hope that ya do real good marijuanavest and we all do good! Have a great day!
Doubled my position at $0.66 (hopefully the low for the day...LOL). I don't have much but double from 1,000 shares to 2,000 shares. Good luck to all the Longs, up up up from here.
I didn't buy much, only bought 1,000 shares at $0.80
Good Evening fellow PHOT investors. I bought this for the first time on the opening this morning. Also bought MCIG for the first time this morning. Been long WLGC since 2008 and still hanging on because of their several valuable patents that they hold. My portfolio is 60 % in cash because of these uncertain times. I hope that we all do well in PHOT. I have read many of your informative posts....Thanks! Y'all have a good evening.
