Based on this interview, Trump seems to be more conducive to EMP protection, either solar or nuclear induced, than Congress or previous administrations. Protection for the most critical elements of the U.S. electrical grid, the large power transformers, would be relatively simple and inexpensive.

Oh, I feel so much better. Can you provide evidence or is it classified?
I believe our Government already had access to Micheal Cohen's phone conversations. No need to collect tapes in a highly intrusive invasion of client-attorney privilege. That should make all of you feel good.
Wonder how these people's gardens grow. Forty seven people don't need a garden anymore. I guess I prefer pipe lines over rail transport.

BullNbear52: Hospitals don't hire docs as a rule since it exposes them to additional liabilities. Take for instance OBGYNs. Those docs are dealing with 2 lives not one.
I am being led to believe on this board that the exposures to liabilities for docs is minuscule. I wonder why the hospitals are so concerned?
Sorry to butt in mr40.
F6: my doctors -- all of them -- supported and welcomed Obamacare/the ACA, and have continued to do so
If you had preexisting conditions, I'm sure they welcome the insurance
F6: the overwhelming bulk of the blame for all the paperwork has always fallen on the insurers -- before Obamacare/the ACA as well as under Obamacare/the ACA
Having a sister-in-law and niece employed in the medical billing arena, I think they would disagree with you. So would my dermatologist.
SoxFox: Yes I'm calling you a liar
Ok, whatever makes you feel better.
Yes, I do think Obamacare was a Turd effort. I believe it was a totally political policy ramrodded down the American public's throat. Remember approximately two thirds of the American public were against Obamacare passage. Obamacare has never addressed the most important costs of healthcare. Tort reform was never addressed and has a huge impact on doctors costs (lawyers get rich) passed onto patients and drives superfluous tests and procedures. Free market coverage for the individual's specific needs is a must. I have some issues with HSAs however, If done correctly they should nudge the insured to be more involved with controlling their own healthcare costs by monitoring and negotiating provider charges and not simply going to the doctor for a cold and paying a copay. Hospital and provider costs for specific procedures, tests, medications should be published and readily available to the patient/insured so an informed decision can be made. The cost of services provided should not fluctuate dependent on what insurance coverage an patient has. People with preexisting conditions and people who cannot afford healthcare should be provided for and I believe this can be done at a fraction of the millions/billions spent on Obamacare. These are just a few of the issues that need to be addressed, but it would be a start.
As far a your thoughts that some doctors are so ideologically driven that they would retire or give up their medical careers to sabotage Obamacare. That seems a little bit far-fetched to me. If true, I wouldn't want them as my doctor anyway.
Soxfan: And yet you went and extrapolated when your Doctor never told you why he left - You State: "It is amazing how one can come to a conclusion with no knowledge or evidence on the matter." you state "Once Obama was re-elected he must have given up hope." With no evidence eh?
You forgot to include the sentence prior-
He had explained earlier to me he did not want to deal with all the hassles and expense of Obamacare anymore. Once Obama was re-elected he must have given up hope.
and also you forgot to include from my other post-
Based on my brief discussions with him and some of the office personnel after he was gone, it sounds like he made a difficult decision.
And you are calling me a liar???
It is amazing how one can come to a conclusion with no knowledge or evidence on the matter.
I doubt many things frightened our doctor. He seemed to be a very knowledgeable and informed person. He was very successful in other business interests. I believe he saw the writing on the wall. I know my dermatologist does not seem to be happy with Obamacare.
Let me help you understand. Our doctor retired early because he did not want to deal with the Turd called Obamacare. That is Obama and the democrats fault!
SoxFan: Either you or he is lying because an Obamacare patient is someone who has insurance or don't you understand what that is?
Let me slow this down for you a bit. Our doctor never discussed whether he needed or wanted new patients of any kind. So he could not have been lying.
I was SPECULATING he did not need any new patients including ones covered by Obamacare. So it is difficult to be lying when speculating.
SoxFan: Well we do know one thing you are clueless about Obamacare.
Maybe. However, I have managed and administered a number of health insurance programs for my clients including workers comp in a multi-state multi-union and non-union environment. I have represented clients by negotiating with insurance agents and carriers. I have negotiated worker comp rates and credits. I have set up health insurance plans with health savings plans that saved companies substantial costs while providing plans that most employees preferred over previous plans. I worked with worker comp and health insurance auditors to reduce costs.
DesertDrifter: "The thread was that I personally don't know of anyone who lost their doctor. Naturally, the dark side would chime in about the horrors of Obamacare. I am glad I do not know you."
Let's say there are 50 people who regularly post on this thread. Today at least two posters say they lost their doctor because of Obamacare. Let's say I am lying so that leaves one person out of 50 or 2% of posters that lost their doctor. The population of the U.S. that Wikipedia claims are non-institutionally insured equals 272 million. 2% of 272 million is over 5 million people who may have been impacted by losing their doctor. Now I understand your jellybean during Halloween thingy.
Not sure why your glad you don't know me. All I said is I lost my doctor to Obamacare.
DesertDrifter: "Most of the ones complaining about it are on Medicare anyway, so it is just noise."
I have never been on Medicare or Medicaid.
DesertDrifter: "wingnuts who post talking points as if they were jelly beans on halloween(sic)."
I'm not sure what this means.
It is very simple. We lost our family doctor due to Obamacare. My dermatologist complains about Obamacare. There have been several posters in a fairly small sample group explaining the same thing.
SoxFan: "Tells me you're lying your effing ass off"
I'm pretty sure he was wealthy by that time in his career owning several successful businesses outside of healthcare. He was adventurous, with a love of travel, outdoors, animals, and mountain life based on pictures displayed on his nurse/admin bulletin boards(some still there). He had a very successful practice and if he could accept new patients, I don't think he needed Obamacare patients. Based on my brief discussions with him and some of the office personnel after he was gone, it sounds like he made a difficult decision.
hookrider: "The math doesn't work."
CC Writer:"We lost our family doctor of 20+ years. One week after Obama's re-election in 2012 we received a letter informing us of his retirement. He was about 55 years of age and loved his job."
What I described actually happened so I didn't do any math. Could you explain what math doesn't work?
We lost our family doctor of 20+ years. One week after Obama's re-election in 2012 we received a letter informing us of his retirement. He was about 55 years of age and loved his job. He had explained earlier to me he did not want to deal with all the hassles and expense of Obamacare anymore. Once Obama was re-elected he must have given up hope. I now have an inexperienced PA who is nice but she over compensates her inexperience with test after test. My dermatologist has complained several times to me about all the the additional paperwork and computer upgrade costs attributed to Obamacare. I don't like his attitude as a doctor, but I would hate to lose him as well.
I agree, we are vulnerable.
North Korea has nuclear-armed missiles and satellites potentially capable of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack. EMP is considered by many the most politically acceptable use of a nuclear weapon, because the high-altitude detonation (above 30 kilometers) produces no blast, thermal, or radioactive fallout effects harmful to people.

I've partaken in 300 level college lit courses, however your discourse is a bit difficult to comprehend. Can you explain in a way that a deplorable or illegal alien can understand? Maybe it's your punctuation or run-on sentences. I'm not sure. Thanks.
Matrix999 -- if this nation were not a racist/classist banana republic by virtue of having little to no actual justice in its elections (which, with among many other elections 3 of the last 5 presidential elections having obviously been brazenly stolen, it all too clearly is), all in any way involved in the Crosscheck and other voter-suppression/denial scams would be or since have been tried and convicted and sentenced to spend the rest of their deplorable lives in jail with no possibility of parole -- and every one of the Supreme Court 'justices' who voted to gut the Voting Rights Act, in what was at least one of the most obscene and ridiculous decisions ever handed down by that court (which is saying something), would have been immediately summarily impeached, convicted and thrown out on the street on their treasonous asses (and then, of course, there was Bush v. Gore [{linked in} http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=34165177 and preceding and following]) -- and etc.
If someone cannot understand basic algebra, maybe they are not the best collegiate candidate. I don't consider statistics more practical.
conix -- "Oakley rejected that dropping the algebra requirement was lowering standards. He also proposed to replace the course with a reputedly more practical discipline, such as statistics."
good luck trying to teach a(ny real) statistics course to students who can't handle basic algebra -- or perhaps Oakley meant just 'teaching' students to be able to recite from rote a few random statistics? -- '100% of unambiguously male pigs are born with piggly wigglies! So there!'

Senate Health Bill Repeals Obamacare’s Medicine Cabinet Tax
The Senate Better Care Reconciliation Act provides middle class tax relief for the 30 – 35 million Americans with a Flexible Spending Account and the 20 million Americans with a Health Savings Account.
-The Obamacare Medicine Cabinet Tax violated Obama’s middle class tax pledge. Obamacare imposed a $1 trillion tax hike on the American people, and violated President Obama’s own “firm pledge” not to raise any form of tax on any middle class American. One of the most widespread Obamacare taxes is the Medicine Cabinet Tax.
-The Obamacare Medicine Cabinet Tax hits tens of millions of Americans. The Obamacare Medicine Cabinet Tax hits the 20 million Americans with a Health Savings Account and the 30 – 35 million Americans with a Flexible Spending Account.
-Under Obamacare’s Medicine Cabinet Tax, Americans are forbidden from using HSA and FSA funds to buy over the counter medicines. Examples include:
cold, cough, and flu medicines
children’s fever relievers
chest rubs
aspirin and baby aspirin
allergy medicines
menstrual cramp relief medication
feminine personal care treatments
hundreds of other common medicine cabinet necessities
-The Obamacare Medicine Cabinet Tax is a $5.6 Billion Tax Hike. By forcing Americans with FSAs and HSAs to use post-tax dollars to purchase these necessary items, Obamacare raised taxes on these households by $5.6 billion over a ten year period.
-The Repeal Bill Abolishes the Obamacare Medicine Cabinet Tax, providing significant tax relief for middle class households. The repeal bill gives HSA and FSA holders the freedom to use pre-tax dollars to purchase over the counter medicines for their household -- cold, cough, and flu medicines, children’s fever relievers, chest rubs, aspirin and baby aspirin, allergy medicines, menstrual cramp relief medication, feminine personal care treatments, hemorrhoid cream, and hundreds of other common medicine cabinet necessities.
-The Senate health bill doubles the dollar amount families can put into HSAs. Families with high medical expenses will be able to purchase more of their essential health items using pre-tax funds. This change makes HSAs even more useful to household budgets.
“The Obamacare Medicine Cabinet Tax raised the cost of health care and made middle income Americans worse off,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. “The bill repeals Obamacare’s Medicine Cabinet Tax once and for all.”

Senate Bill Repeals Obamacare’s Chronic Care Tax on Middle Class
Obamacare’s Chronic Care Tax is an income tax hike that hits 10 million households that happen to have high out of pocket medical expenses in a given year – the average income of households paying this Obamacare tax is $53,000
Though rarely if ever mentioned by the mainstream media, Obamacare is loaded with tax hikes on the middle class. Today we look at just one of these taxes, the Obamacare Chronic Care Tax:
-The Obamacare Chronic Care Tax violated Obama’s middle class tax pledge. Obamacare imposed a $1 trillion tax hike on the American people, and violated President Obama’s own “firm pledge” not to raise any form of tax on any middle class American. One of the most widespread Obamacare tax hikes is the Chronic Care Tax.
-The Obamacare Chronic Care tax is an income tax hike. Before Obamacare, Americans facing high out of pocket medical expenses were allowed an income tax deduction to the extent that those expenses exceeded 7.5 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI). Obamacare now imposes a threshold of 10 percent of AGI. Therefore, Obamacare not only makes it more difficult to claim this income tax deduction, it widens the net of taxable income.
-The Obamacare Chronic Care Tax hits at least 10 million American households each year. According to IRS data, each year approximately 10 million households are hit with the Obamacare Chronic Care Tax, and nearly all were middle class. The average household income of those hit with this Obamacare tax: $53,000.
-The Obamacare Chronic Care Tax is a $36 Billion Tax Hike over 10 years. By raising the threshold that Americans can claim the chronic care tax deduction to 10 percent, ATR estimates that the income tax increase for the average family claiming this tax deduction is $200 - $400 per year. The latest CBO score shows that the Obamacare Chronic Care tax hits these families with $36 billion in higher taxes over ten years.
-The Senate’s Better Care Reconciliation Act abolishes the Chronic Care Tax, providing significant tax relief for low and middle income households. The Senate healthcare bill restores the pre-Obamacare 7.5 percent threshold, providing significant middle class income tax relief.

F6, why did this report use this photo for discussion of CO2 emissions? I would estimate 95 percent (if not 100 percent) of the emissions in the photo are cooling towers emitting 100% water vapor. Can't tell for sure, but it looks like a nuke plant which would be close to zero CO2.
What would be an appropriate circumstance?
Would you take a Syrian refugee into your house?
The highest temperature recorded in Australia on Saturday was Ivanhoe at 47.6C — still shy of the statewide record of 49.7C set in 1939 — while Penrith, Forbes and Williamtown all peaked above 45C, breaking local records. No record since 1939.
So you would be willing to allow a Syrian immigrant to live with you?
I Agree 100 percent!
Yes, I agree it is beautiful. Probably better than a mile of ice covering New York or Illinois.
Clearly, the gap between the two figures leaves space for something – or someone – else. But who or what is a total mystery. The only theory the scientists arrived at was that a third, unknown group of hominids bred with the ancient Melanesian people.
So a total mystery is wild?
