The Best Bet For Stocks Is That No U.S./China Trade Deal Is Announced
As you all know, stocks have been rallying since December 26, 2018. The first quarter rally has been nothing short of amazing. Almost every trader and investor is waiting for a U.S./ China trade deal. Every few days we hear that a trade deal between the two countries is getting closer to actually happening.
Volume trends have been extremely light in 2019 which indicates very little selling pressure in the markets. Contrary to popular belief, light volume actually favors upside in the markets. Hence the old market adage, never short a dull market. At this time, many traders and investors are waiting for a trade deal to be struck by the United States and China. Simply put, nobody wants to get caught short when a deal is announced. After all, all we hear in the financial media is that a trade deal could add another 10 percent of upside to the market immediately. So who in their right mind would want to be short right now.
It is probably better that there is no actual trade deal announced in order for stocks to continue climbing. What would happen if the talks between the U.S. And China fell apart right now? That would probably be a big hiccup for the major stock indexes. On the flip side, should a deal be struck and signed then there will likely be another pop in the markets in the near term, but after an initial spike it could be a sell the news event. After all, the markets are rising on anticipation of a deal being announced very soon.

Asian Markets Fall, But Weak Yen Lifts Japan

Asian markets were mostly softer Monday, with Chinese stocks sliding over 5 percent. But the weaker yen helped Japan close over 1 percent higher, with exporters supporting that market.
China's Shanghai Composite Index tumbled 5.3 percent, pulled down by coal producers after a hike in the coal export tax, and by a drain of funds into China South Locomotive & Rolling Stock Corp as the firm listed.
Falling stocks in Shanghai outnumbered gainers by 904 to 31, with over 200 Shanghai A shares plunging their 10 percent daily limits.
"There is no confidence at all, and no money entering the market to clean up this mess, so no one can call a floor now," said Zhang Qi, analyst at Haitong Securities.
Fears about a protracted global slowdown have caused oil prices to reflect a much lower so-called demand premium, as top consumers like China ratchet down energy imports, though on Monday U.S. light crude prices climbed almost $1 to $114.72 a barrel on threats to supply in the Gulf of Mexico from a tropical storm.
The U.S. dollar slipped, easing from a six-month high against the euro as gold and oil prices rose, but slowing commodities demand was widely seen supporting the currency in the medium term. In the last several weeks, reports have confirmed the euro zone and Japanese economies are shrinking, causing dealers to erase expectations for interest rate increases and for emerging markets investors to prepare for a potential
backlash.
Japan's Nikkei 225 Average finished 1.1 percent higher, led by exporters as a softer yen and recent fall in oil prices eased worries about corporate earnings amid a deteriorating outlook for the global economy. Sumitomo Metal Industries jumped over 7 percent after Mitsubishi UFJ Securities lifted its rating, saying the steelmaker was expected to be able to raise prices of its seamless pipes used in the oil industry.
Seoul shares closed lower after a rebound in oil prices sent airlines and exporters lower, but Doosan Group units rallied after the group said it would not bid for Daewoo Shipbuilding.
Australian shares closed just a touch higher as resources stocks advanced, with miner BHP Billiton gaining ahead of reporting a record annual profit.
Hong Kong shares fell 1.1 percent, with the Hang Seng Index hitting a new 5-month low, as China coal stocks slid after a hike in export taxes on the commodity and mobile phone maker Foxconn International plunged 24.1 percent after a profit warning. Foxconn's warning highlighted fears that firms in Greater China will almost certainly be hit by cooling global demand, sharply curbing once-heady earnings growth.
Singapore's Straits Times Index closed 0.7 percent lower with a mixed performance by blue chips.

Beijing Olympics Begin With Lavish Opening Ceremony
8/9/2008 12:15 AM ET
RTT news
Seven years, billions of dollars and thousands of hours of training - not to mention hundreds of protests, complaints about air quality and official calls from the U.S. government for China to improve its human rights record - and the Olympic Games finally kicked off in Beijing on Friday.
As had been promised since the world's most populace country was first named as host nation, the opening ceremony was visually stunning, with China opening its doors to the world in a celebration of its history, people, and culture.
The ceremony, directed by Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, stressed unity and showcased the country's history during the four-hour event in its Bird's Nest stadium.
Before a crowd of 91,000, the performers showcased the accomplishments of the Chinese people, including exploration, silk, art, and dance. The presentations were decidedly a-political, as organizers focused on culture rather than nationalism.
The traditional parade of athletes, where each country's delegation takes its walk through the stadium, was concluded by China. The countries proceeded in order by the Chinese alphabet, with the host nation entering last.
The Olympic flame was lit by gymnast Li Ning, who took home a trio of gold medals for China in 1984. With Ning airborne, suspended with wires, the torch ended a protest-marked, four-month journey around the globe by lighting the gigantic Olympic cauldron. The light will now burn for the remainder of the games.
The opening ceremony had an auspicious date - 08.08.08. The number 8 is looked at as a special, lucky number in China. Due in part to the superstition, 16,000 Chinese applied for marriage licenses on August 8, 2008 - more than twice the previous record for a single-day marriage license.
In China, cell phone numbers with the number 8 in them are more expensive, and it is common to see the number 8 on Chinese license plates.
The choice of China as the host nation for the Olympic games has been a controversial one, due to the country's human rights record, oppressive government and policies toward such minority interests as those in Tibet.
In what has often been referred to as China's coming-out party after years of growing economic and diplomatic power, the Olympics will place the country under close scrutiny.
In the days leading up to the ceremony, U.S. President George W. Bush expressed his concerns over human rights abuses in China, sparking a response from the Chinese government. On the President's recent tour in Asia, he urged China to respect human rights, a sensitive issue in the days leading up the opening ceremony.
"America stands in firm opposition to China's detention of political dissidents, human rights advocates, and religious activists," Bush said. "We speak out for a free press, freedom of assembly, and labor rights not to antagonize China's leaders, but because trusting its people with greater freedom is the only way for China to develop its full potential."
Bush placed his hope for the future in the hands of Chinese youth. He looked to the next generation in China to push for personal freedom, citing economic freedom as a precursor to other freedoms.
"Young people who grow up with the freedom to trade goods will ultimately demand the freedom to trade ideas, especially on an unrestricted Internet," he said. "Change in China will arrive on its own terms and in keeping with its own history and traditions. Yet change will arrive."
China's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang responded to Bush's statements, saying that China is dedicated to "maintaining and promoting basic rights and freedom of its citizens," and accused Bush of meddling.
"We firmly oppose any statements or deeds which use human rights, religion and other issues to interfere with the internal affairs of other countries," Qin Gang said.

~~ China SSEC ~~ recently pulled back 50% of March 2007 and topped on 10/16/2007 which I also noted the top at 6124.04 meeting the target of 6000 +/-.
http://trend-signals.blogspot.com/2008/06/blog-post_11.html
The recent US market price actions and other international market analysis, the China SSEC is showing a fractal formation of 1998-2000 Nasdaq price action which was followed by 50% correction in a few month, Mar-May 2000 50% correction of the 1998 breakout. The China SSEC corrected in similar fashion and it is trading at 3000 LT support which tested in April 20008.
As noted, I think that it is better to see a significant correction as we are facing global hyper-inflation.
Greenspan made huge two decade old bubbles after 1987 crash which I think that it is just a quick correction of 200% rally prior to the 1987 correction. We now have significant financial contraction in US; so, international market corrections are better than making bigger bubbles.
Breaking the China SSEC 3000 pivot support will be another confirmation for a significant correction.

Paulson Previews U.S.-China Strategic Economic Dialogue
6/10/2008 11:54 AM ET
Getting the economic relationship between the U.S. and China "right" is the key goal at next week's U.S.-China Strategic Economic Dialogue, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said Tuesday. Paulson previewed the SED meeting at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, outlining his desire for "sustainable economic growth" over the next 10 years.
The SED meeting will focus on five areas, Paulson said, including managing financial and macroeconomic cycles; developing human capital; the benefits of trade and open markets; enhancing investment; and advancing joint opportunities for cooperation in energy and the environment.
"Both the United States and the Chinese economies face current challenges, including adjusting to higher energy and food prices," Paulson said.
While the U.S. is struggling with the deepest housing slump since the Great Depression as well as a credit crunch, China is facing rising inflation as well as "external macroeconomic imbalances," Paulson noted.
"China's imbalances stem largely from an economic structure that has become too heavily dependent on industry, investment and exports," he explained. "This has led to a growing trade surplus, high energy use, environmental degradation and rising domestic inequality."
Specifically, Paulson cited the disparities in savings rates between the two countries, with the United States having a savings rate that is far lower than desired, while China's rate is too high. He cited China's excess precautionary savings as a major factor in the trade surplus.
At the conference, top U.S. and Chinese officials will "examine how we can promote mutual interests, including enhancing innovation and developing and protecting intellectual property intensive industries, improving food and product quality and safety, stopping the global trade in fake products, furthering transparency and rule of law, and supporting green energy and environmental product markets," the Treasury Secretary said.
Paulson discussed the challenges poised by rising energy prices that the U.S. economy is struggling with. The price of gasoline is now over $4 per gallon of regular unleaded in most of the country, and climbing crude prices indicate that there is no relief in the short term. In addition, food prices have also continued their steady climb, placing a burden on U.S. households.
At the same time, increasing oil demand from China has been cited as one of the factors pushing prices higher. Paulson discussed how these two oil-dependent countries are facing the energy challenges.
"As the two largest net importers of oil, China and the United States face similar challenges," Paulson said. "We have a strong and shared interest in avoiding supply disruptions, increasing energy efficiency, promoting the efficiency and transparency of the global energy markets to the benefit of all oil importing nations, and expanding the availability and use of alternative energy sources."
The Treasury Secretary urged China to go beyond joint efforts. He cited China's "numerous plans and ambitious goals" for reducing energy consumption, stating that "while I applaud this continued focus and am encouraged by this progress, further results cannot come fast enough."
Specifically, Paulson was critical of China's price controls on fuel. He noted the results of the United State's similar attempt during the oil crisis of the 1970s.
"Rather than achieving our intended result, we experienced winter heating oil shortages, supply problems, rationing, and a reduction in domestic oil and gas investment and exploration," Paulson said. "In some cases we attempted to control output prices without being able to control input prices, forcing operating losses and large cuts in supply."
The Treasury Secretary urged China to allow the market to function freely, without price controls.
"The United States learned that price controls interfere with the natural equilibrium of markets to match supply and demand, and lead to shortages," he said. "And because market forces can never be completely eliminated, price controls often lead to smuggling and corruption."
Paulson stressed the removal of barriers, both tariff and non-tariff, that China places on environmental goods and services.
"A high priority should be eliminating barriers on products, goods and services that can improve the health and welfare of the Chinese people," he said.
The SED dialogue, launched by President George W. Bush in 2006, includes twice-yearly meetings. The last meeting was in December, when goals for the continuation of dialogue were listed as: updates on the energy and environment plans, the beginning of exchange on investment policies, practices, and climates.
"The value of the SED to economic issues is clear," Paulson said. "The SED also increases U.S. - China collaboration on security and other key international issues, making our overall relationship stronger and broader."

Barak Hussein Obama - Who is he?
By Ted Sampley
U.S. Veteran Dispatch
December 29, 2006
After only being a U.S. Senator for a couple of years, Barak Hussein Obama, Democrat Senator from Chicago, has managed to catapult himself to the status of a messiah in the Democrat Party. The result is that ever since, he's been walking on water toward the White House.
Obama says after his visit with friends and family in Hawaii during the 2006 year-end holidays, he'll announce if he's going to run for president in 2008.
Bets are that he will.
Who is Obama and what has he done?
Independent columnist, Andy Martin (Out2.com) says he believes Obama is a political fraud who "lied to the American people."
Martin says Obama may be a threat to the Jewish community because he is a closet Muslim.
"I feel sad having to expose Barack Obama," says Martin, "but the man is a complete fraud. The truth is going to surprise, and disappoint, and outrage many people who were drawn to him. He has lied to the American people, and he has sought to misrepresent his own heritage.
"Obama's life story is vastly different from the one he portrays. My point: if he will lie about his mother and father, what else is he lying about? Can we expect 'bimbo eruptions?'
"Fiction: Obama stated in his Convention speech: 'My father … grew up herding goats.' The 'goat herder' claim has been repeated endlessly. It is a lie.
"Fact: Obama's grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama was a prominent and wealthy farmer. His son, Obama's father, was a child of privilege, not privation. He was an outstanding student, not a herdsman.
"Fiction: Obama was given an 'African' name.
"Fact: Obama is a Muslim who has concealed his religion..
"He has treated his Muslim heritage as a dark secret. His grandfather was named 'Hussein.' That is an Arabic-Muslim, not African, name. Hussein was a devout Muslim and named his son, Barack Senior, 'Baraka.' Baraka is an Arabic word meaning 'blessed.' Baraka comes out of the Koran and Arabic, not Africa.
"Barack Senior was also a devoted Muslim, and also chose a Muslim name for his son, our own Barack Obama, Junior. Again, his name was an Arabic and Koranic.
"Fiction: Obama Senior was a harmless student 'immigrant' who came to the United States only to study.
"Fact: Obama was part of one of the most corrupt and violent organizations in Africa: the Kenyatta regime. Obama's father ran back to Kenya soon after the British left. It is likely Obama's father had Mau Mau sympathies or connections, or he would not have been welcomed into the murderous inner circle of rapists, murderers, and arsonists. I believe Obama's secret shame at his family history of rape, murder and arson is what actualizes him. Our research is not yet complete. We are seeking to examine British colonial records. Our investigation to date has drawn on information on three continents.
"And what about Obama's beloved Kenyan brothers and sisters? None of his family was invited to Boston to share his prominence. Are his relatives being kept in the closet? Where are they? More secrecy, more prevarication.
"It is time for Barack Obama to stop presenting a fantasy to the American people. We are forgiving and many would still support him. It may well be that his concealment is meant to endanger Israel. His Muslim religion would obviously raise serious questions in many Jewish circles where Obama now enjoys support," Martin said.
Debbie Schlussel, a conservative political commentator, columnist, was more pointedly critical about Obama's Islamic connections, she wrote on her blog, debbieschlussel.com/, "while Obama may not identify as a Muslim, that's not how the Arab and Muslim Streets see it.
"In Arab culture and under Islamic law, if your father is a Muslim, so are you. And once a Muslim, always a Muslim. You cannot go back. In Islamic eyes, Obama is certainly a Muslim. He may think he's a Christian, but they do not."
Is a man Muslims think is a Muslim, Schlussel asked on her blog, " a man we want as President when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?
"Is that even the man we'd want to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, if Hillary Clinton offers him the Vice Presidential candidacy on her ticket (which he certainly wouldn't turn down)?"
Obama was born Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of Barack Hussein Obama Sr. of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and Ann Dunham, of Wichita, Kan.
Obama senior met his wife, a white woman, when he was a student attending the University of Hawaii. Obama junior was born in Hawaii.
When he was two-years old, Obama's parents divorced and his father returned to Kenya, where he eventually served as a senior economist in the country's Ministry of Finance.
When Obama was six, his mother, an atheist, married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian Muslim and moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro was born after the family moved to Indonesia.
Soetoro enrolled his stepson in one of Jakarta's Muslim Wahabbi schools. Wahabbism is the radical teaching that created the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad on the rest of the world. Obama later attended a Catholic school in Indonesia.
At age 10 Obama was sent back to Hawaii to be raised by his white maternal grandparents and to attend the prestigious Punahou Academy.
He attended Occidental College, followed by Columbia College and Columbia University.
After Obama's parents divorced when he was two, he spent only one month with his father before his father's death in a vehicle wreck when Obama was 20.
After college, Obama entered Harvard Law where he was elected president of the Harvard Law Review. He received his law degree in 1991 and moved to Chicago where he took a job with a civil rights law firm.
Obama was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 1996. He lost in a bid for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000 and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004.
Obama says he is a Christian with "deep faith rooted in the Christian tradition." He is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Chicago, which on its web site declares to be a "congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian" and "an African people" who "remain 'true to our native land,' the mother continent, the cradle of civilization."
Trinity United Church of Christ adopted a "Black Value System" which pledges allegiance "to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System" and a "personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System."
According to ontheissues.org, Obama has proven himself to be a nearly perfect leftist democrat. He is pro-abortion, anti-gun, against ban of same-sex marriage, against teaching family values in public schools, against ban of flag burning, against privatizing Social Security, against the death penalty and three strikes laws, for hiring more women and minorities, for increased funding for health care and for campaign finance reform.
He believes in the separation of church and state - except when he campaigns in black churches.
Who is Barak Hussein Obama?
Many Democrats are promoting him in the media as the Democrat's best hope for winning the White House in 2008.
Referring to Obama's 2006 year-end visit with friends and family in Hawaii, Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro, recently stated: "He's going to make his decision here and announce it to us. Then he's probably going to officially announce his decision once he returns."
The Associated Press reported that Obama is expected back in Washington, DC the first week of January 2007.
China SSEC reversed at the LT support as noted that SSEC 3000 +/- is a major support.

Market watching policy moves to support equities
Commentary: Impact of Beijing policy tools should not be underestimated
By Craig Stephen
Last update: 5:45 p.m. EDT April 27, 2008
HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- In the week ahead, focus is likely to remain on China's A-share markets after last week's controversial cut in stamp duty raised investors' hopes of a concerted policy shift to support domestic equity markets.
Over the week the Shanghai A-share market ended with a 15% gain -- the biggest weekly move since 1996.
It has been a widely held belief among mainland Chinese retail investors the government would direct its policy tools to resuscitate the ailing stock markets in time for the Beijing Olympics. As it's already promised cloudless skies and a bumper hoist of gold medals, it would surely not let proceedings be spoiled by toxic equity markets that recently flirted with levels 50% down from last year's highs.
The logic may seem straightforward, but can this really be an equity strategy for serious investors?
It appears some investment banks seem to think so.
HSBC Securities said in a new research note that last week's cut in stamp duty from 0.3% to 0.1% on A-shares is not a market bailout. Rather, it puts in place a stronger foundation for equities to move higher -- that is, along with measures to keep non-tradable shares off the market and new plans to introduce margin lending.
The brokerage said the stamp-duty cut equates to a 100 billion yuan ($14.3 billion) injection of capital this year set against tax receipts paid out. Last year, the Ministry of Finance collected over 200 billion yuan in tax receipts and 60 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2008.
They also argue that because this amount is greater than the total dividends paid to investors last year, it will change the mentality of A-share investors toward the more medium-to-long term. This latter point seems a bit of a stretch, however, when you stack such miniscule dividends up against the capital gains investors have grown used to.
But overall, there appears to be a belief in investment circles that the change in government policy could indeed herald an inflexion point in the market. Investing on such a premise might seem to be asking for trouble, but remember these are immature mainland Chinese equity markets, where for now at least, sentiment and momentum trading will likely trump fundamentals every time.
And in a country where the state controls what you watch on TV, what you read in the newspapers and how many children you have, it is surely not unreasonable for rookie investors to believe the government can also control the equity market.
If you look at how China has written its own equity market rulebook for A-shares, it certainly appears to be trying. This class of equity is largely off limits to foreign money, meaning it does not have to yield to the discipline of foreign institutional money punishing perceived bad policy, similar to other emerging markets.
Meanwhile, the IMF and others have highlighted how the IPO market is rigged to transfer equity gains to investors in a process that resembles a one-way equity bet. With the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) controlling the ultimate pricing on new issues, last year investors feasted on a conveyor belt of often tripe-digit first-day gains.
Investors will also have long enough memories to recall that it was the increase in stamp duty in May of last year that preceded the long correction in A-shares.
And when it comes to China's economy, as the state still owns or controls so many key industries, it arguably has much more scope than many countries to maneuver policy once it decides to change course.
The heavy hands of Beijing policy can be clumsy, but it's wise not to underestimate their impact. Getting things done is much simpler when inconveniences like democracy are absent, after all.
Hong Kong, for instance, has previously seen its market jolted into life after a policy shift by its giant neighbor. In 2003 many brokers were too busy dissecting the gloomy post-SARS outlook to realize the significance of a new travel permit allowing individual mainland visitors to visit Hong Kong. As hotels, shops and restaurants filled up with these new tourists, the market and economy were quickly hoisted off the floor. And last year, the Hang Seng Index was going nowhere fast until China proposed its investment "through train."
In an economy where the meddling hand of Beijing is a fact of life, policy risk for equities -- good and bad -- will have to be watched closely.
Perhaps the best advice is to stay focused on the earnings numbers China's corporates keep churning out. China Construction Bank (HK:939: news, chart, profile) just released a 167 % increase in first-quarter profit to 32.12 billion yuan. More results like that and perhaps Beijing will not be needed to coax the market higher.

$SSEC topped as of 10/16/2007, as alerted, after trading to 6124.04 meeting the target of 6000 +/- after breaking out in March 2007 from 15yr TL.
Now, it has traded from 6124.04 to 5032.57 retraced 17.8%, since the, it bounced to 5453. It is still in consolidation period as daily is oversold. I do not expect the 6124 was the top for VTL.
Good luck
~~~
ETF performance: Oversea markets are off 10-20% from the recent sellings. FXI is off 23% since $SSEC has shown on the top. I noted that $SSEC reached target and will go into consolidation period on 10/16. Since then, it corrected 17.80%. It has filled Oct 2007 gap and now it bounced up after trading to 5032 which is Sept2007 low support.
$SSEC is made new high today. Hopefully it will consolidate well. Good luck
Trust God? How can I trust someone whom I can't even see? Especially when the ones whom I can see have betrayed me.
Asking these questions shows how smart you are. Trust is tough stuff. And important stuff. So the way you grow trust matters a lot.
You know that you can't trust just anyone. You know that if it's hard to trust a person, it must be even harder to trust almighty God.
Isn't that right? Yes and no.
Yes, it's tremendously difficult to trust someone you can't see. But no, trusting God can be much easier than trusting a person.
God won't treat you the way people do. God is bigger than pride, bigger than ego, bigger than power. He has no need to abuse your trust or betray you.
In fact, to build trust upon trust, God has taken the first steps -- He created you and came to earth in the Person of Jesus Christ to show you what He's like.
God knows that:
1. when you trust Him, you'll believe that He does want joy for you;
2. when you trust Him, you'll believe how valuable you are;
3. when you trust how much He values you, you'll want to make good choices, build good relationships, choose good ways to spend your days;
4. when you want the best, you'll go to God who knows how to build the best.
Now you can take the next step—invite God to show you how to trust Him.
Then you'll want to obey God because you can trust him, not because you're afraid He'll get you if you don't. Trusting God is more like a journey than an instant arrival. Each time that you trust Him and see that He really is who He says He is, you'll find it easier to trust Him again.
Let these rhyming words help to show you how to develop your trust in God: need, feed, seed, weed, heed and feed again.
Need
You want and need someone to trust. Recognize that only God can fill the God-shaped empty space inside you. Once you let Him fill that emptiness, He'll add the other things that you need. In Matthew 6:33 we read, "Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (NIV).
Feed
As a tree planted by a stream draws water to live, you can draw constant strength and nourishment from God (Psalm 1:3). We seldom receive the gift of audibly hearing God's voice, but God has given us a guide—the Bible. Read a few verses each day and draw on the wisdom of those truths.
Seed
Trust does not hatch full-grown. Just as an acorn seed grows into an oak tree, trust grows daily too. At first it's flimsy, but eventually it's strong enough to weather storms.
To keep your seeds of trust growing:
1. Notice God's faithfulness. Throughout the days, years and generations before today God has shown that He is trustworthy. He has kept his promises--promises to be with His people when tough times come, promises to intervene in history to show His power.
2. Notice the uniqueness of God. Only God came to earth as Jesus Christ so that you can know Jesus. Only Jesus Christ rose from death never to die again. Only God can raise you from death and take you to heaven where you will never die again.
3. Notice God's personal care for you. Perhaps He has given you a parent who listens, understands and gives you advice you can use. Maybe you have a friend who really cares about what happens to you and listens with rapt attention. Maybe you have found a way to do math. These are God's gifts to you. The Bible describes these gifts: "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like the shifting shadows" (James 1:17, NIV).
4. Focus on the good. There are happy times and sad times in every day. If you focus on the good rather than whine about the bad, you'll find that you notice God's gifts to you.
Weed
Discover the difference between what God sends and what God allows to happen. Many people have trouble trusting God because a parent has died or a friend has committed suicide. These hard times are effects of this imperfect world, not vengeance sent from God. The Bible says, "God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:5, NIV). God grieves along with you when sad things happen. He does not take away those whom you love.
Heed
As you FEED on God's Word and WEED truth from fakery, live the truth. Do as the Bible says. You won't understand everything right away, but go ahead and do what you already understand. For example, the Bible says to love others as you love yourself (Matthew 22:39). Do you want to be listened to? Then listen to your friends and parents. Do you want to be taken seriously? Then take your friends and your parents seriously.
Feed Again
The better you know God, the easier you'll find it to trust and obey Him. And the more you'll sense how deeply God cherishes you. So learn more about God each day. Grow closer to the awesome God who treasures you beyond your wildest dreams. You can trust Him.
Shanghai is trading to new highs while consolidating.
The market certainly has good potential to grow strong as $HSI Hong Kong.
The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) was founded on Nov. 26th,1990 and in operation on Dec.19th the same year. It is a non-profit-making membership institution directly governed by the China Securities Regulatory Commission(CSRC).
The SSE bases its development on the principle of "legislation, supervision, self-regulation and standardization" to create a transparent, open, safe and efficient marketplace. The SSE endeavors to realize a variety of functions: providing marketplace and facilities for the securities trading; formulating business rules; accepting and arranging listings; organizing and monitoring securities trading; regulating members and listed companies; managing and disseminating market information.
After several years' operation, the SSE has become the most preeminent stock market in Mainland China in terms of number of listed companies, number of shares listed, total market value, tradable market value, securities turnover in value, stock turnover in value and the T-bond turnover in value. December 2004 ended with over 37.87 million investors and 837 listed companies. The total market capitalization of SSE hit RMB 2.6 trillion. In 2004, Capital raised from SSE market surpassed RMB 45.7 billion. A large number of companies from key industries, infrastructure and high-tech sectors have not only raised capital, but also improved their operation mechanism through listing on Shanghai stock market.
Entering the new century,SSE is faced with great opportunities as well as challenges to further boost the market construction and regulation. Combining the cutting-edge hardware facilities,favorable policy conditions in Pudong, exemplary role of Shanghai economy, SSE is fully committed to the goal of State-owned industrial enterprises reform and developing Shanghai into an international financial center with great confidence.
Introduction of SSE Indices
As authoritative statistical indicators widely adopted by domestic and overseas investors in measuring the performance of Chinese security market, SSE Indices are compiled and published by Shanghai Stock Exchange. SSE Indices are price indices including SSE 180 Index, SSE 50 Index, SSE Dividend Index, SSE New Composite Index, SSE Composite Index, Sector Indices, SSE Fund Index, SSE Government Bond Index, and SSE Corporate Bond Index. Among them, the earliest one compiled was SSE Composite Index.
In order to promote the long-term infrastructure construction and the standardization process of the security market, Shanghai Stock Exchange restructured SSE 30 Index and renamed it SSE Constituent Index (SSE 180 Index) in June 2002. As the core of SSE Indices, SSE 180 has made major improvements in methodology on the basis of SSE 30 Index through taking China's current financial market situation into consideration and integrating international experience. Its objective is to select constituents that best represent Shanghai market through scientific and objective method, to establish a benchmark index that will reflect Shanghai market and serve as a performance benchmark and a basis for financial innovation.
SSE Government Bond Index and Corporate Bond Index were launched in 2003. Thus SSE Indices formed a complete system including equity, fund and bond. In early 2004, Shanghai Stock Exchange launched SSE 50 Index in order to reflect the performance of a number of most influential stocks in Shanghai Market. Thus, SSE Composite Index (a whole market index), SSE 180 Index (a performance benchmark index), SSE 50 Index (an index for good quality, large scale stocks) have formed a 3-level pyramid index structure.
SSE Indices reflect overall price changes of stocks listed at Shanghai Sock Exchange from various perspectives. SSE Indices also reflect the level of prosperity and overall price changes of each industry, thus provide investors with benchmark systems for different investment portfolios. With security market's growing importance in national economy, SSE Indices has gradually become a weatherglass for China's economy.
Index Advisory Committee
In order to ensure scientific methodology, transparency of index adjustment and fairness in constituent selection, Shanghai Stock Exchange has established an Index Advisory Committee, which will evaluate and provide advice for index methodology, constituent selection, index adjustment, and index operation standards.
Proverbs
The authorship of Proverbs has not been easy to determine.
Solomon’s name appears in Proverbs 1:1, "The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, King of Israel", although this does not necessarily mean that he was the author. It was often the custom to place the name of the King or someone of prominence in writings in order to honour them, or to give those writings more prestige. However, Solomon is often mentioned as someone who has extensive wisdom in the Bible as well as in extra-biblical literature. In 1 Kings 4:29-34 3000 proverbs and over 1000 songs are said to have come from Solomon. It is also said that people came from all over to hear the wisdom of Solomon. The general assumption is that Solomon was a part of the authorship to some extent, but that the book was not solely his work. There are also names linked to other sections of the book, as well as elements of disunity within the book that suggest more than one author. Some of the authorship is attributed to "Men of Hezekiah", though it is stated that they simply transcribed the proverbs rather than writing them of their own accord.
Freemasonry is a fraternal organization. Arising from obscure origins (theorized to be anywhere from the time of the building of King Solomon's Temple to the mid-1600s), it now exists in various forms all over the world, and claims millions of members. All of these various forms share moral and metaphysical ideals, which include in most cases a constitutional declaration of belief in a Supreme Being.[1]
The fraternity is administratively organized into Grand Lodges (or sometimes Orients) that each govern their own jurisdiction, which consists of subordinate (or constituent) Lodges. Grand Lodges recognize each other through a process of landmarks and regularity. There are also appendant bodies, which are organizations related to the main branch of Freemasonry, but with their own independent administration.
Freemasonry uses the metaphors of operative stonemasons' tools and implements, against the allegorical backdrop of the building of King Solomon's Temple, to convey what is most generally defined as "a system of morality veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols."[2]
Shanghai situated on the banks of the Yangtze River Delta in East China, is the largest city of the People's Republic of China and the seventh largest in the world. Widely regarded as the citadel of China's modern economy, the city also serves as one of the nation's most important cultural, commercial, financial, industrial and communications centers. Administratively, Shanghai is a municipality of the People's Republic of China that has province-level status. Shanghai is also one of the world's busiest ports, and became the largest cargo port in the world in 2005.[1]
Originally a fishing town, Shanghai is currently one of China's most important cities. The city often reflects the pop culture, intellectual advances and political systems of the Republic. In the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century, Shanghai was the third largest financial center in the world, ranking after New York City and London, and the largest commercial city in the Far East . After the communist takeover in 1949, Shanghai languished because the central government taxed heavily and foreign investments ceased, purging the city of its "bourgeois" elements. In 1992, the central government authorized market-economy which redeveloped Shanghai. Now, the city has surpassed early-starters Shenzhen and Guangzhou, leading China's skyrocketing economic growth. Although challenges such as economic disparity and migrant workers remain to be overcome, Shanghai's prosperous economy and lifestyle represents China's recent economic development.
$KOSPI broke above the resistance 1470 +/- which I noted, trading to 1483.
I was looking for a breakout $KOSPI as well as $SSEC. Certainly China $SSEC ran strong after breaking above 15yr TL resistance at 3050, now, it is trading at 3291.
I am hearing that Nasdaq is planning to offer China 30 index.
I commented that China is LT bullish for a couple of years, annd noted Mar 2007 breakout.
The momentum of China market is bullish as shown on the LT 15yr TL breakout.
China raised interest rates on Tuesday for the fourth time this year to stabilize inflation after consumer prices rose in July at the fastest pace in more than a decade.
The People's Bank of China said it was raising the rate that banks pay for one-year deposits by 27 basis points, to 3.60 percent, and the corresponding benchmark for lending rates by 18 basis points, to 7.02 percent from 6.84 percent.
The increases go into effect on Wednesday.
Although the timing was a surprise, the action itself was not despite turbulence in global markets that has prompted the Federal Reserve to cut its discount rate and hold out the prospect of a reduction in the federal funds rate.
Most economists had forecast an increase, both to anchor inflationary expectations and to reduce the incentive for savers to take their money out of the bank -- where real deposit rates are deeply negative -- and pile into the surging stock market.
"The PBOC is concerned about falling real deposit rates spurring the flow of funds out of deposits into equities. We don't think this is a response to strong growth," said Ben Simpfendorfer, an economist with Royal Bank of Scotland in Hong Kong, said.
Although the economy expanded 11.9 percent in the second quarter from a year earlier, Lin Songli, an analyst with Guosen Securities in Beijing, agreed that, by raising lending rates less than deposit rates, the central bank was signalling it was not intending primarily to slow the pace of growth.
"The move is mainly targeting inflation, and the authorities might have reached a consensus that investment growth is not a big problem now," Lin said.
Consumer prices surged 5.6 percent in the year to July, the fastest pace since early 1997, because of a spike in the cost of pork, eggs and other foods.
Although non-food inflation fell to 0.9 percent in July, policy makers are concerned that price increases are already rippling out across the economy.
"It's also meant to curb fast growth in the stock market, which is now at historical highs and is rising very fast," Lin said.
The main Shanghai share market is up 80 percent this year on top of a 130 percent leap in 2006.
Lin said bank shares were likely to fall hard on Wednesday in response to the rate rise.
