Water, Water, Water, and Basic Lithium Processing
April 26, 2016
Ion Exchange
IX columns are packed beds of resin that remove specific constituents. There may be cation, anion and ion specific resins. As the water is run through the resin, the target constituent is retained on the resin until it reaches its capacity to capture the constituent. Once the column has captured its full capacity, it must be stripped and regenerated. Usually an acid wash strips the column and a caustic wash regenerates.
IX reduces the constituent concentrations to the ppb (parts per billion) level. IX water is the high volume high purity final wash required to bring product to spec. IX purifies the lithium solution reducing all other constituents (except sodium and potassium) to the ppb level.

A PreProcess, Inc. solution to an American Made Challenge
Salton Sea Brine is a chemical engineer's dream.
Its Hot,
Its Liquid,
& Its Concentrated.
The disadvantage is that it has impurities
We propose using electrolysis to create lithium hydroxide directly from lithium chloride without a lithium carbonate intermediate.
Electrolysis has three rules
Brine Purity, Brine Purity, Brine Purity
The DLE-to-ELE operating philosophy is "Once its clean, keep it clean"
At a high level our innovations include:
Oxidizing in brine prep, strict hydrodynamic flow control, a combinational cascade of coupled unit operations, and self-manufacture of high purity HCl to achieve increased system yields.
The trick to making this work is a whole plant integrated holistic approach
Our team has a proven track record executing chemical megaprojects from innovation to commercial operationalization.
These innovations are strategically placed in the high-capacity separation units that keep the operation costs of the overall system low.
How low ? Well, Here’s a look at our annual production:
This project will cost about $400MM with a $4000 OpEX
By Year 3, first drop on the commercial system.
Year 5 brings full operationalization with an EBITDA of $130MM.
And exit at year 6 with a $1.3 Billion Valuation

I wouldn’t think so. The high volume came across a very small number of pretty material buy orders…smart money. I do not get the sense that the smart money is thinking of this lawsuit as anything other than a nit. I think Elon helped bring a massive amount of press to the industry, which also brought up more speculation and past history. I also believe this thing is going to shoot through the roof after certification for four different brain types possibly combined with new announcements related to North America. Maybe end of May, maybe sometime in June. The smart money knows.
Possible reason for the high volume?!?!
Coming to light now? Apologies for the multiple notes, realizing I also didn’t respond to this. It is occurring to me you have not read the defensive response to the initial claims. In that indicated they would be filing a counter claim for damages at a later date. that was something like 6 to 7 months ago. Again, procedurally this makes sense to do now that discovery is over.
I didn’t answer your other question. I actually do not expect this to get dismissed. I do not think it will get that far. I believe the plaintiffs will settle for pennies and the only reason Ibatf will pay them anything is because they want them to sign off on the latest patent approval that has their names on it.
The $ amount involved in this claim even in a bad scenario for ibatf are nothing but a blip.
you realize the dismissal motion was just for two of the claims? Also, the final dispositive motions aren’t even due until mid-May. Ruling to dismiss, procedurally, would not likely cone until after that.
One waits until after discovery to SEE the evidence than decide what to do.
It was very clear to bb221.
Anakin Skywalker, there was a time you had a good heart do not let this eat at you for the rest of your life. There is still hope for you. You must fight the temptation of the dark side while you are still young
We will be waiting for your return.
The court case filings have begun!
The IBAT counterclaim ooo. what do you make of that? Especially how this is now only coming to light after discovery is complete for the original claims?. Not looking to good for the dismissal ehh?
you still think they will settle and all will the blue skys and sun shine?

The trick is not to use Argentina banks or money. Offshore banking.
But they can confiscate the property.
Either way Argentina is risky.
I reckon llkkf has not felt the effects of hyperinflation yet. Wait until they start construction
Nice to see a podcast with GM President.
Interesting he believes he has the raw materials. And list his suppliers.
I used to post about their hyperinflation back in 2018 and 2019
It was the main reason I was hesitant to buy LLKKF
Michael Saylor had 1 million dollars in Argentina back then and they stole 90% of his money. Not sure where it was in the video but it's a good watch all the way through.
Been trying to post this for a few days and every time I get on YouTube to get this video, I wonder off onto something else.
Great video on hedging.
Real good reason to add crypto to your portfolio.
I know right!? I loved that read, I knew you'd appreciate it.
Pg 20 and 21 stuck out ofc to my simple mind
The project included the development of improved
aluminum-based sorbents for the extraction of lithium from geothermal brines [129,130].
The project involved developing methods for the manufacture of sorbents and their testing
for sorption of lithium under a variety of conditions, mostly with synthetic geothermal
brines [129,130]. Although the sorbents that were developed and tested were not described
in the reports, it is likely that they are variations of AlOH sorbents, specifically a lithium
aluminate intercalate [131,132]. Three variants of sorbents were discussed. Sorbent-P
was a modification or improvement of a proprietary Simbol sorbent, probably a lithium
aluminate intercalate [129–131]. Sorbent-S was Sorbent-P precipitated on an undefined
inert substrate [129,130]. Sorbent-A was developed using a new method of synthesis and
was considered a substantial advancement over prior materials, but the specific improved
properties (i.e., loading capacity, physical robustness) that qualified it as improved were
not reported [129,130]. Sorbent-A was manufactured in 50 kg batches (300 kg total) and
used in pilot studies, discussed below [129,130]. Subsequent to this project, Simbol filed
patents for a lithium aluminate intercalate stabilized in a polymer matrix [132], but it is
not certain if that is the same sorbent that was used in pilot tests (discussed in applications
section, below) [129,130].
Indium surprised me.
That was an awesome paper on lithium.
But I have to say, I loved the bar chart for the 2050 prediction. Graphite #1 baby, represent!!!
Start investing into the next wave, Carbon :)
Yeah, just saving more to spend it later is my motto.
Received your message and I understand what you are saying. I would do the same as well.
Looking forward to the delivered brine cores and results. I am all about the data, so I am nerdily waiting.

Exciting to hear this:
“We want to own our own resources. I’ll do joint-ventures with people but the main thing is we want to be a producer. We’ll go from the brine to high-purity final products to the battery manufacturers or whoever wants them things. That’s the direction we want to go.” – International Battery Metals CEO Dr. John Burba

THE QUEEN OF LITHIUM PURITY!!!
Alison shares her multicultural heritage, and tells the podcast’s hosts about her life growing up in Australia, beginning her career in investment banking, and then taking the decision to return to China and join the family business in 2015, including getting her Mandarin Chinese up to scratch. She and Joe illuminate Emily as to the meaning of “high purity” lithium, and who needs to buy it. Spoiler alert: It’s electrolyte makers! High purity lithium is called four 9’s or five 9’s, referring to the 99.99% or 99.999% purity that some applications require.

Sent you a private message let me know if you got it.
I had a great talk yesterday.
I had enough banked hours I can retire early now with health care.
I lose a lot leaving early.
Not sure what I am going to do, yet. I have until March 2023 to figure it out.
I am sure I will be somewhere warm this next winter. March was warmer than April this year.
Hungover today won't be posting much, today.
Bet on Burbas IBATF for the Future of Worldwide Eco / Low Production Cost Friendly..not to mention. another Dozen or more reasons why Burba / ACME(ACLHF-Nevada Lithium=? decades of Lithium right next door to Albermarle Lithium & Elon M usk might all hook up to become the Three Musketteers..Tesla -Musk needs Lithium for their electric cars..and he will secure that..cause he has the money..sees the future..Looks Green to us investors .Too. if the next months 3 hole drilling in ACMEs Mining claims adjacent to Albermarles land turns out to be Hugely Successful..The Three Musketteers might become a Reality.IMO.Go Burba with the 4 Different Brines From various Countries/Sources..become extracted in June?... with the IBATF/Burba Mobile Lithium Extraction Factory..No waste in this Amazing Eco Friendly / low production cost tech ..that extracts Lithium withing 24 hours and re-uses/ recycles 97% of the water..and uses it over again..again..The Absorbant material? Amazing....Well enough..We know Big Things Coming..and Soon.Im Buying today Again..
“I am glad I was smart enough to invest in the techs early”
To be honest that’s what it is all about, investing for your future.
Elon is quite the tech mover, the next five years will be an exciting time to see what he does next.
Vacation is over, and as always too soon.
Hoping for warmer weather to come and stay.
And if the crappy weather keeps up, I just may head south again ;)
Who is this guy?
• Synthetic Lithium Chloride production system
• Anolyte & catholyte loop temperature maintenance systems
• Portable skid design completed in AutoCAD Inventor
• Responsible for first production of 4% Lithium Hydroxide via electrolysis.
• Received Simbol "Extra Mile Award" for this effort.
“Extra mile award” wonder what that was about, probably internal.
Interesting resume to say the least.
Couldn’t agree more!
Chile will love Dr. Burbas Lithium Extraction Mobile Plant Process that Recovers 97% of the Water used..and purifys it to reuse again in the lithim extraction process..Saves from polluting the water..and cuts down the amount of water used in extraction the Lithium from the Brine..Low Cost..Very ECO Friendly..Im Buying Today! Burba and Elon Musk will do business..Musk will buy Nevadas Acme Lithium aclhf..soon as reports of lithium results of drills..Musk is Brilliant like Burba.Chile will be with Burba on getting the Lithium out in a low cost, eco /water saving way!IMO.

This company should be valued at $2.5B at a minimum if they are valued at that price when Tesla made a bid. That does not take into account Lithium Price as well as progresses they have made.
Current market cap is $600M so I assume, it is safe that we could go up by 300pct from here
