The Warrior’s Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Your Warrior prepares for battle.
Today I claim victory over Satan by putting on
The whole armour of God!
I put on the Girdle of Truth!
May I stand firm in the truth of Your Word
So I will not be a victim of Satan’s lies.
I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness!
May it guard my heart from evil
So I will remain pure and holy,
Protected under the blood of Jesus Christ.
I put on the Shoes of Peace!
May I stand firm in the Good News of the Gospel
So Your peace will shine through me
And be a light to all I encounter.
I take the Shield of Faith!
May I be ready for Satan’s fiery darts of
Doubt, denial and deceit
So I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat.
I put on the Helmet of Salvation!
May I keep my mind focused on You
So Satan will not have a stronghold on my
Thoughts.
I take the Sword of the Spirit!
May the two-edged sword of Your Word
Be ready in my hands
So I can expose the tempting words of Satan.
By faith your warrior has put on
The whole armour of God!
I am prepared to live this day in spiritual victory!
Amen
I and others many times have made mention to "So let your light so shine,"
....then often we make mention as Christians we are to walk the walk and not just talk the talk-----Over in Romans 14: 21. Paul writes that we are to do nothing by which our brothers may stumble or is offended or is made weak. Throughout my day I need to be ever-mindful of my actions, my speech, my attitude, anything that may lead another to away from believing in the gospel. Walking the Christian path is not an easy task but learning to rely upon the Holy Spirit and believing that He is right beside us to help out in our time of need----makes walking the Christian path much easier......GOD BLESS
Vision for Eternity
~ May you be newly envisioned and encouraged today as you’re reminded of the world that is to come through Christ our King.
To be a true person of vision is to live this life in light of eternity. Without a real revelation of eternity, this life will be marked by hopelessness and a sense of aimless wandering. Only when our destination comes into view can we rightly see the circumstances strewn along the journey of this life.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says:
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”
To look to eternity requires us to trust. Our minds are finite. In the only world we’ve ever known, life is marked by a beginning and end, by birth and death. But in Scripture we discover that God is the Maker of life and the Conqueror of death. We discover that in Jesus we are promised eternal life in unhindered, unveiled communion with our Creator.
To live with vision for eternity is to trust that things are not as they will be, and to surrender the entirety of this life with hope for the next. When we live seeking satisfaction from the things of the world, we live as if heaven didn’t exist and God didn’t usher in His kingdom through Jesus. The things of this world only have value in the Giver of all good gifts. So, our possessions, relationships, and work only have value here because they are a shadow of what is to come when all things are made new.
Having vision for eternity should lead us to create boundaries around everything in this life. It should lead us to a lifestyle of surrender that our hearts might never become tied to that which is fleeting and can never fully satisfy. It should lead us to a lifestyle of fully enjoying the things God has given us, all the while knowing the things of this life are merely a shadow in comparison to what is to come.
• Do you feel tied to the things of your life today?
• Do you feel as if your possessions, relationships, and work owns you, rather than you enjoying them to the glory of God?
• Are you seeking to find total satisfaction in the things of the world, or are you finding peace in the hope of heaven?
Take time today in prayer to surrender your life again to Jesus. Allow God to cut away any ties you have to that which is chaining your heart to this world. And find abundant joy and peace in the freedom that comes from living in light of eternity.
In Galatians 5:16 Paul writes:
“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.”
When you take time to enjoy God every day and seek to live in communion with the Holy Spirit, He will faithfully guide you away from the things of the world and into fullness of joy in Him. May you find comfort and hope in connection with the living God today as you seek to live with vision for eternity.

Jeremiah 33:2-3
"The LORD who made the earth, the LORD who forms it to establish it, Yahweh is His name, says this: "Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know."
•
As we know as we trod this earthly path...our flesh is going to cause us problems and heart ache and everything in between....because...on this side of reality speaking in the human sense of it....we are our own worst enemies. Then there is our family and friends and acquaintances...
co-workers...strangers...yes...burdens and trials can come from all kind of folks. Then throw in the world as we call it and there also much pain and suffering can come our way...and all of this is very real. But... as born-again believers we know very well the true reality that we have to be on guard of and our success in standing strong comes thru of course our relationship with Jesus...the power of the Holy Spirit and by staying ready for battle...so to speak... by being equiped with the full armor of God...because as we know...our true battle lies.......
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12
Because as we know.........
"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour".
1 Peter 5:8
I think of those two verses often and the reality of what we truly face in our daily walk with Jesus.
....satan and his demons are very good at what they do...and to quote an ole saying....if you give the devil and inch he will surely take a mile!
“Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.”
-R Zaccharias-
When you read your Scriptures what runs through your little ole "P" brain? I have been reading my Scriptures since the late '80's, not a brag, I still am learning and know very little, if that much. I have been in the Psalms for several days now and, maybe I just have a screw or 2 loose, I don't know, but this morning when David writes so much about his enemies, I use to think only on his actual human enemies , but this morning I got to thinking about what comes after me, my enemy is the devil and his helpers, I at one time was a very good soldier for satan, then I came to Christ and was forgiven----but every day the ole devil is really after me, he doesn't like to loose. Anyway, as I read my Scriptures when I find things that ring a bell I make note on a piece of paper and leave it in my Bible, maybe one day when I am no longer on earth another will read it and get to thinking. Today I ran across this note, nothing but food for thought......"Many will read Psalm 38 and think "how beautiful,David was a real poet."...Now today I read the Psalms and I see David as a man like me, struggling to do right but in a constant battle with evil..... his emenies might be mankind, yet the ole devil is really after him.. David relies on God for strength to over come, sometimes David wins and sometimes he fails---but always calls upon God for forgiveness and always God is ever present to forgive.
Could be a great Bible study....GOD BLESS
Blame Name
“Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” ~ Ephesians 4:3
When something goes awry, we tend to blame. We find a foe we can literally point at and touch with our hands, rather than donning the mantle of responsibility to lead. Name and blame. Point our fingers at one another.
The results are tragic. The result of blame is often broken relationships and wrecked opportunity for happiness.
Healthy community is one of the greatest blessings in life, and it thrives when we hold to a common purpose. But unity doesn’t occur without good leadership. The good news is that each of us can provide that leadership. It is a matter of choosing a true perspective and making good choices.
The foundation of leadership is taking responsibility for things we can control. We can’t control others. So there is no real benefit to blame. What is within our control is taking action to seek the truth. Without truth, unity dumbs down to conformity, which requires submission to a tyrant. One of the primary weapons of a tyrant is blame.
When we name another person as our enemy, we misdirect our emotions, make imperfect choices, and leave potential on the table. There is a better way. We can take responsibility to discover the truth, and invite others to join in.
Taking responsibility does not mean taking control. It means seeking what is true.
When we make the choice to lead we sow the seeds of peace and unity, and lay the foundation for the blessings that flow from participating in a vibrant community.

Philippians 3:8-11
"More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them filth, so that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ — the righteousness from God based on faith. My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead."

Vision for Others
~ Today may we learn how to serve people in a healthy, intentional way with good boundaries and vision.
One of the greatest joys in life is the gift of serving others. Often in the busyness of work, family, and society we draw boundaries around ourselves so tightly that we don’t make room to love others well. God’s desire is to shepherd us to a place of inward abundance, not only that we might live in the fullness of life, but also that we would be empowered to give of ourselves to others.
Philippians 2:4-8 says:
“Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be used for His own advantage. Instead, He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men. And when He had come as a man in His external form, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death — even to death on a cross.”
In His humble, loving sacrifice, Jesus set before us the perfect example of loving others. God might not call all of us to physically die for the sakes of others, but He absolutely leads us to a lifestyle of dying to self that we might live for the kingdom of God. Loving others always requires sacrifice. The gift of love is never free. But in pursuing a lifestyle of looking to the interests of others we’ll discover an eternal purpose more fulfilling than any fruit selfishness could produce.
Often, in reading or hearing exhortations centered around serving others, I find myself feeling more and more weighed down. I know that I’m called to love people. I know that I’m called to give of myself. And in response to these emotions, I typically engage in a few more activities, find myself empty and burnt out, and subsequently give up on the notion of living sacrificially. But after years of going through this cycle I realized that I was giving, not from a place of love, but out of coercion. I was giving, not as a response to receiving the unconditional love of my heavenly father, but to earn the affection of a Christian community that often admires actions over motives.
But we serve a God who looks at the heart. The call of God on our lives to love others well is designed to flow from a place of fullness and satisfaction. God doesn’t ask us to give what we don’t have. If you’re not in a place of health and abundance, the first step is to ask for the leadership of the Holy Spirit in how He wants to shepherd you to a place of restoration and rejuvenation. The world doesn’t need burnt-out givers. God doesn’t ask us to die to ourselves if we don’t have life to begin with.
God has amazing plans to use you to further His kingdom today. And those plans are filled with acts of love and sacrifice. But before you can love others, you need to know that you are loved. Before you can sacrifice for others, you need to know that Jesus sacrificed for you to a far greater measure than you could ever hope to reciprocate. And in response to God’s love and sacrifice, ask Him for ways you can love others well. Create boundaries in your life in which you can consistently give of yourself. Seek to look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others.
May you find profound joy and purpose in loving others today in response to God’s great love for you.
Inward abundance and rest aren’t always necessarily marked by the emotions of happiness or a feeling of energy. Sometimes God asks us to give even when we’re weary. Just as Paul walked back into Lystra after being stoned to continue sharing the gospel, we have to get up after being knocked down. Inward abundance is living with an unshakable and unbroken sense of God’s love. It’s experiencing transcendent joy that can only come from a God whose goodness surpasses the quality of our circumstances. If you will seek to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit you will know when it’s time to rest and time to act. You will know when it’s time to retreat with Him and time to go out. His leadership will not fail you and His grace will always sustain you. Inquire of the Lord today and discover both restoration and purpose in His steadfast love.

Good morning brother… Well actually not much left of the morning as its soon to be dinner time… that's lunch for you city folks…wink. And your thought about stealing peoples joy... comfort... faith... is a very valid one as that is something that I often think about. Yes whether material things are stolen from us or we in some way shape or form steal material things from others…what you're talking about is something that needs to be thought about by folks in a very real and spiritual way. Because in the sense of that…stealing peace joy and contentment could maybe kinda sorta have even a more negative impact on people physically... mentally... emotionally and yes spiritually. It's like those people in our life that we know… Whether they're family ... close friends or acquaintances… But those people that when we see them coming our way we just want to turn and run because we know that in someway through their negativity...they're pessimism… that dark cloud that always seems to be hanging over their head… is going to try to steal our peace and joy and contentment…and that's not good. And... we need to think when we're around people that are friends or family or acquaintances… That we don't act in that same type of way of being negative and pessimistic...even if we are having a bad day... that in someway we can steal their peace and joy and contentment. You know the saying talking about the glass being half full or being half empty…and i won't go into that cause I think we all understand that… But as believers…and I sometimes say this…we should maybe have the frame of mind that my glass is not half empty my glass is not half full…my cup is overflowing and so is my saucer.…i am blessed no matter what is going on thru my relationship with Jesus. Now I know we can't be totally upbeat and optimistic all the time I get that… But through our witness and testimony to other people…we need to have a frame of mind through the Lord Jesus Christ… through the Holy Spirit living in us…that we don't just put up a good front…that people can see Jesus in and thru us…and when they see us be they are believer or a non-believer…they really do want what we have because they can see the peace and joy and contentment in us… And everybody wants that wheather their are saved or not... right? I truly believe that when we have aquired the peace and joy and contentment thru Jesus...that Jesus dont expect us to let others...satan...the world...nobody...to steal that from us even if it means separating ourselves from those types of people. Period!. Ok...im getting ready to start chasing the rabbit around the hole and I think maybe I've made my point…wink… So yes brother… Very valid point… And have a awesome day man !

Communion With God
~ We find complete joy and fulfillment in the presence of the Lord.
Scripture Reading: Philippians 3:7-10
God created us to be in relationship with Him. The type of communion Adam and Eve enjoyed with Him is meant for us as well. But when sin entered the world, everything changed. God’s relationship with mankind was broken.
But as we know, that’s not the end of the story. Jesus came to die in our place, bringing forgiveness for our sins and restoring our relationship with God. We are adopted into God’s family and belong to Him forever. He has provided us with everything we need in order to experience intimacy with Him.
So what happens if, following salvation, new believers never go deeper?
Some may drift away from their initial zeal for the Lord. Perhaps others try to focus on God but allow earthly matters to distract them. Over time, some Christians settle for what’s comfortable and familiar. Sadly, they will miss out on the deep contentment God wanted to provide. Yet those who follow Jesus wholeheartedly will have a deepening relationship with Him.
Communion with God made King David “fully satisfied as with the richest of foods” (Psalm 63:5). And Paul viewed his own accomplishments as nothing in comparison with “the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:8). Draw near to God and experience the blessings of knowing Him.

YO ! Rick, G'Morn'g my friend.....I read and enjoyed your post and as I got to the end I thought that when we as Christians think on stealing we think on the material side of it (or maybe just me), the thought just hit me, never before have I thought this way, yet this morning the thought came after reading your post, what about stealing non-material stuff, like stealing one's joy, comfort, one's faith, I suppose this list could go on & on. Thanks for kicking the ole "P" brain in gear this morning, I have never thought of stealing the non-material things in life. If I don't let my light so shine I could be stealing an opportunity presented by the Holy Spirit
Jus say'n-------------GOD BLESS
Im gonna go out on a limb here and say that nobody likes a thief...a person that takes something that dont belong to them...taking something of ours without asking...Stealing! We work hard for what we have and it really gets to us...makes us angry...when something comes up missing and we know someone has helped themselves to something that belongs to us! It just aint dad burn right and we can have many choice words and names for the person that has stolen from us...after all...as good Bible believing Christians...God Himself in the Ten Commandments said...there in number eight..."Thou shall not steal"...because its sin! So lets look inside our own heads this morning and see how we often look at things and find ways to justify our actions. We go to Outback Steak House with a friend and we have a steak, baked potato, salad and tea. We get the check and it seems a little cheap and we see we have been charged for two hamburgers, fries and sodas...do we speak up or sense its their mistake...we pay and leave. We go to Tractor Supply and buy a bag of bird seed, Round-up spray, two denim shirts and when we get to the car and we check the bill cause the total seems lower than it should be we discover we were only charged for one of the denim shirt...do we go back inside and make things right? Hey...they should pay closer attention. We stop at Walmart and buy a few items and we check out and when we get home we discover the cashier gave us ten dollars to much ..what do we do? Not my fault they cant count. In getting our taxes together or in doing them we cheat a little...just a little...Thats really not a big deal is it...i mean...the Federal government aint gonna miss it...right? We sell our car to someone and we hide the fact of a couple mechanical problems...after all...by the time they figure it out or it actually breaks down...wont be my fault...Right! Ok..i know you get the picture without me going on and on. So, in our human frame of mind...is there a difference in those people that we talk about when they steal from us or we read of them in the paper and we bad mouth them...lazy no good bum...or...could it be that in Gods eyes stealing is stealing. Now...what was that eighth commandment and is God going to hold us accountable? Think about it!
I Have No Regrets About My Past...My Past Is Who I Am Today...Born Again!

A Kingdom-Focused Prayer Meeting
~ Are you praying for God's will to be done on earth?
Scripture Reading: Acts 1:11-14
Jesus talked a lot about prayer. He taught its importance not only by His words but also through His actions. At times His prayers were spoken publicly; sometimes He withdrew from the crowds to be alone with the Father. Jesus also spoke of the power of united prayer (Matthew 18:19-20).
If our church gatherings and small groups were to offer heavenly-minded petitions on a consistent basis, what would our prayer meetings be like? There would be greater focus on God and His kingdom. More of us would praise Him for who He is, express godly sorrow for our sinful ways (2 Corinthians 7:10), and speak of our gratitude for all He has done. Our voices would be lifted in praise as we witnessed people coming to the Lord, pride giving way to humility, and insensitivity being replaced by love. We’d rejoice in our glimpses of God’s work in and through our local churches. And we’d be beseeching our Father for others’ salvation and for believers’ spiritual growth.
How excited we would be to see God answer our prayers. Some of us would find it easier to testify about our Savior, others would be filled with His peace when facing trials, and still others would have the strength to stand firm. Imagine our church, filled to overflowing and becoming the “house of prayer” Jesus said we are meant to be (Matthew 21:13).

The Weight of Guilt
~ Will you choose to lay down your burden and believe what God says about you?
Scripture Reading:
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.” ~ John 3:16-17
For us as believers, false guilt can be an unbearable weight. The nagging sense of shame can lead to doubting the Lord’s love and goodness; we might even start to wonder if our salvation is real. Thankfully, though, God wants us to know relief from that burden.
First of all, it’s helpful to identify the root cause of our guilt. (Check yesterday’s devotion for a description of some potential causes).
Next, we must affirm three truths:
• I am special.
Any reason we give to “prove” otherwise is a lie from Satan. We are each a one-of-a-kind creation. The Lord chose to endow us with specific talents and abilities meant to be used for His kingdom and His glory (1 Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:11-12).
• I am loved.
Because the Father wanted us to live with Him eternally, He sent His Son to die for our sins. We don’t have to do anything to earn God’s love; it is already ours for the receiving.
• I am forgiven.
If we confess our sins, the Lord forgives. The Bible promises the process is as simple as that.
Since it’s Satan who creates feelings of false guilt, the final step is to renounce his lies. Make a declaration:
“In the name of Jesus, I reject these feelings of guilt. They have no scriptural basis. They are false, and I refuse to acknowledge them.”
The result will be that the heavy weight of guilt lifts from the heart.

Thank you Lord for this another day, make me a better person tomorrow than I was today
Thanks for posting for others to enjoy also.....beautiful Psalm & kept me out of trouble today
Psalm 25 Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
15 Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

I am thankful that I have a relation with God that allows me throughout my day whenever a need comes to mind I can talk with Him while I complete my task at hand. Some folks may disagree with this but I like to do wood work, I am just an amateur, but I like it...one time I took some old wood which was starting to rot pretty bad, it is called "punkey" wood....any way I did everything to stabilize it, put it on the lathe to cut down for a PepperMill, and as luck would have it that darn thing just kept coming apart, this was to be a special gift for a special friend, finally when I had exhausted all my abilities and was ready to toss it in the trash---I stepped back from the lathe, talked with God and then I tried one last time, I am here to tell you it turned out beautiful, one of my very best. I gave this to my friend and told her that God & I made it and explained the story behind it.......SO YES!!! I firmly believe in talking with God throughout my day, the good things, the bad things, the in-between things----nice to know and BELIEVE He is right there, even to help with your projects when you exhausted al your efforts.
I decided to read the Psalms again----started last week, anyway this morning Psalm 25 was to be my starting place, then it really spoke to me, don't understand, but this Psalm really spoke to me-----If you get time, open your Bible to Psalm 25 and see if it speaks to you, maybe it will not, never spoke to me before, but man! really got my attention this morning
GOD BLESS AND HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY
The Struggle With Guilt
~ Genuine conviction from God is a gift to save us from the suffering that follows sin.
Scripture Reading:
"Now this is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light, and there is absolutely no darkness in Him. If we say, “We have fellowship with Him,” yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not living according to the Truth. But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say, “We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” ~ 1 John 1:5-9
The way believers deal with guilty feelings has a lot to do with what they understand about guilt. By definition, the word refers to a sense of wrongdoing — an emotional conflict arising from second thoughts about an action or thought. The biblical method for clearing away such feelings is repentance.
However, many believers are plagued by false guilt, which is not actually rooted in sin.
This unhealthy feeling can develop in a couple of ways:
• First, if a church is caught up in legalism, a member may not do enough of what is “required” (such as praying, Bible reading, or witnessing).
• And second, hearing believers’ criticisms of others can also lead to misplaced feelings of guilt. Without clear discernment, a person may get the sense that he can’t measure up to God’s standards.
Whatever the cause of false shame, it is not the result of sinful behavior. Genuine, biblically based conviction, on the other hand, is an anxiety in the spirit over a definite, willful sin; it is the Holy Spirit’s loving pressure to correct a specific wrong. When we understand this, we can reject Satan’s attempts to distract us with lies. And regardless of the cause, false guilt must be unearthed and removed from the believer’s life.

Vision for Yourself
~ How do we set ourselves up for success emotionally, physically and spiritually?
For a long time, I believed that all God wanted from me was more. I feared He would lead me to more work, more giving, more sacrifice, and less fun. I viewed fun and God as mutually exclusive, as if He was the great cosmic killjoy who only wanted me to sing, fast, pray, and evangelize.
Wrapped up in all my misconceptions was a very me-centric point of view. I thought if I didn’t work my fingers to the bone day in and day out for the kingdom that God’s will wasn’t going to be accomplished. It’s as if I believed that I was a savior, the sole hope of the world. And all these misconceptions led to a constant weight I couldn’t seem to shake. But Isaiah 55:10-11 says:
"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my Word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it."
The truth is that God absolutely has good works laid out before me every single day. He has a plan for me that will impact eternity. But His chief desire in everything He asks of me is that we would do it together. He doesn’t need me. He wants me. He is not a taskmaster, and I am not His slave. Rather, He calls Himself my heavenly Father, and I am to see myself as His son, a coheir with Christ.
God doesn’t desire me to lift a finger if it’s not out of love for Him. He doesn’t need or want any of my works birthed out of a place of striving. He doesn’t need or want petty activity, reluctant yeses, programmed words, or burnt-out offerings. Allow the full impact of 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 to hit your heart today. Read it slowly. Allow it to shift your perception of the heart of God:
"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing."
In response to the truth of God’s Word, we need to have vision for ourselves. We need to set boundaries around our own emotional, physical, and spiritual health. We need to allow God to minister to our weary hearts, shift our perspectives on work, and empower us to live a life marked by inward abundance.
• What do you need today to enjoy life?
• What can you do with God rather than for God?
• What would He use to fill you up to a state of overflowing rather than running on empty?
As you enter into a time of prayer, may you find freedom today from the mentality of a slave and live with the joy and peace of a child of the One, True God.
The best boundary for maintaining a sense of health is a having a weekly sabbath. Genesis 2:3 tells us, “God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all His work that He had done in creation.” To rest is holy. It’s a declaration to yourself and the world that life is about far more than work. It’s a reminder that work is just a way that we live in relationship with God. May you find grace and courage to live in line with the culture of God’s kingdom as you set boundaries around what you need in order to live an abundant life.

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
~ The Lord sees beyond who you are to who you can be.
Scripture Reading: Psalm 139:1-14
Looking at all He had created, God declared that it was very good (Genesis 1:31). We’ve been “awesomely and wonderfully made,” with great potential for service in His kingdom (Psalm 139:14; Ephesians 2:10). However, some of us may doubt that this is true, because we notice so many ways in which we fall short. Let’s look at some biblical examples of people who might have felt the same way.
Moses appeared to have many advantages while he was growing up in Pharaoh’s household. Then he killed an Egyptian and fled the country. No longer did he seem a likely candidate to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. But God looked beyond what Moses had done and saw who he could become.
Paul, prior to salvation, persecuted those who believed in Jesus. Yet through God’s mercy, the apostle became a mighty evangelist and author of almost half of the New Testament.
Peter denied — not once but three times — that he knew Jesus. Still, the Lord chose this simple fisherman to preach on the day of Pentecost.
God sees beyond our human frailties to the prospect of what we’re able to become in Him. Because His Spirit dwells in us, we have a greater capacity for spiritual transformation than we can imagine. Seek to become the person God has equipped you to be.

Peace of heart..peace of mind....what exactly is that? I look at inner peace as being a quietness within us that reaches right down to our core! I believe that inner peace is accomplished when we come to the reality that Everything is going to be alright no matter how tragic...hopeless...confused our life may appear to be. Inner peace is finding that quietness within us that assures us that we can walk thru any storm that the world or satan throws at us... we know by faith in our creator that everything is going to be alright! And...believe it or not...finding that inner peace and keeping it is really quite easy...Yes...i said quite easy. Finding inner peace of our heart and mind is accomplished thru our personal relationship with Jesus...it is found in our quite communion with God! Yes, talking to our heavenly Father and reading His Holy word from our Bible...that is where real and true peace comes from! Folks, Jesus is Always with us. The Holy Spirit of God lives in us every breath of everyday. Life is going to be hard at times and sometimes life is going to be down right tragic. However...when we get away by ourselves and spend quality time with our loving sovereign God. There is going to be a supernatural peace fill our hearts and minds that ourselves or the world cannot produce. And i believe it is thru that God centered peace that the supernatural joy of Jesus embraces us through all areas and circumstances of our life! When we have the peace and joy of Jesus in our life... satan nor the world or anything around us can steal or take that away! Have you found the peace that only God can give you?
I Have No Regrets About My Past...My Past Is Who I Am Today...Born Again!

"I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.
John 14:27
Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
Romans 5:1
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me;Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.
Isaiah 26:3-4
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.

The Parables of the Lost Sheep and Coin
~ In today’s devotional, the last in our series on the parables, we’ll be looking at the parables of the lost sheep and coin.
If the core of Jesus’ teachings on the gospel could be summed up in two stories, they would be the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin. Both stories illustrate one crucially important truth: God pursues us. Both clearly display God’s heart for us in that He willingly and passionately comes down to meet and help us wherever we are. As we look at these important parables today, open your heart and allow the reality of God’s pursuit of you to “transform” the way you relate to Him and stir up your desires to seek His face in return.
Jesus says in Luke 15:4-7...
“What man among you, who has 100 sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the 99 in the open field and go after the lost one until he finds it? When he has found it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders, and coming home, he calls his friends and neighbors together, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep!’ I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who don’t need repentance.”
Then Jesus teaches in verses 8-10...
“Or what woman who has 10 silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? When she finds it, she calls her women friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found the silver coin I lost!’ I tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”
Jesus tells two parables to re-emphasize a perspective-shattering truth. The One, True God, the King of kings and Lord of lords, so values us that He leaves everything behind to pursue relationship with us. So great is God’s desire for restored relationship with you that He came down off his throne, left transcendent perfection, and lived His earthly life in total service to us, thereby leading Him to an unjustified and sacrificial death.
• Has the reality of that truth been fully realized in your heart?
• Has both the grandeur and love of our God hit home to the point that the depth of God’s love is your chief reality?
Too often we pass by the core message of the gospel because we have heard it before, and we don’t allow it to stretch past our mind into our heart. It’s when truth rests in our heart, impacts our emotions, and becomes real to us that it transforms our life. You were the helpless and lost sheep. You were the coin that was so valuable God worked and searched until He had it back in His possession. You are of the highest value to the only One who truly decides the essence of worth. Don’t let that truth pass you by today. Instead, grab hold of it, reflect on it, and wrestle with it until it becomes the foundation for every decision, thought, and action in your life.
Let’s respond to the depth of God’s pursuit with our own. Let’s allow God to bring every part of our lives entirely into His possession. Let’s be the reward of Jesus’ sacrifice. In Psalm 27:8 David says, “You have said, ‘Seek My face.’ My heart says to You, ‘Your face, Lord, do I seek.'” God is calling out to you, saying, “Seek My face.” He waits patiently for your reply, excited at the notion that you would live your life receiving the abundance made available to you by Jesus’ sacrifice.
Spend time in prayer meditating on God’s pursuit of you and responding to Him by daily seeking His face.
The chief characteristic that marks those who live life in the Spirit is their continual pursuit of God. Psalm 34:10 promises us that “those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” God will always respond to your pursuit of Him because His greatest desire is relationship with you. You don’t have to be scared to seek Him, wondering if you will find Him to be real and responsive. He’s already promised that to you. Take Hebrews 11:6 and live your life in obedience to His Word. Have faith and believe that He “exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.” May you discover a deeper reality of His nearness, love, and pursuit of you today as your respond to God’s Word in faith.

The Mustard seed parable is GREAT, I suppose it all boils down to how this speaks to each of us. A devotion I read some time ago put my "P" Bain in gear and this parable has won a place in my heart and mind.
"If only I had more faith----I could serve the Lord like the more important folks In my church....if I had more faith I could_________, fill in the blank on how this applies to you or your excuse for stepping back rather than stepping up. Jesus said the amount of faith is not important ----"I tell you the truth , if you have the faith as a small mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move---nothing will be impossible for you." A mustard seed is about 1/32nd of an inch, yet it grows into a tree.
If only I had more faith-----maybe I, maybe you, maybe many other Christian folks miss the boat by over looking many opportunities to share the gospel just because we worry about having a lot of faith and all the while we over look the mustard seed faith we have. We read and think we believe Philippians 4 where Paul wrote "All things are possible through Christ who's strengthens me"-----As Christians we need to put that mustard seed faith to work. My Bible is full of examples where one thought they "could not"-- yet they trusted in God and "they did"-------I have said many, many times that I have strong faith--but--since I focused on the mustard seed parable it points out to me just how small my faith really is. I am a Christian, I believe, yet I really need to work on "ME" and if I do that I just don' have time to pass judgment on others
GOD BLESS & have a very Blest Day
The Parable of the Mustard Seed
~ As we dig into this rich, beautiful parable, may our hearts and minds be enlightened. Take a moment even now to ask God to give you fresh revelation.
Jesus tells a beautiful parable of the Kingdom of God in Matthew 13:31-32. He teaches us:
“The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”
Trees are beautiful pictures of God’s ability to take what we view as weak or insignificant, a seed, and make a magnificent and life-giving creation out of it. And Matthew 13 reveals how trees can be viewed as pictures of the very kingdom of their Creator. It’s remarkable that God would begin His kingdom small and grow it by His faithful stewardship into a beautiful and life-giving creation.
God took the seed of the death of one man, Jesus, to create a beautiful tree of salvation for all of humanity.
John 3:17 says:
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.”
Our heavenly Father’s wrath over our sin poured out on Jesus allowed God to free the rest of us from eternal condemnation. And through the seed of Jesus’ death, God has been creating a powerful and eternal global movement, bringing people to restored relationship with Himself across thousands of years. Just as the mustard seed grows large enough to become a tree in which birds make their home, the kingdom of God has transferred our citizenship to a new home with Him.
Philippians 3:20 says: “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
John 15:19 says: “If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
The Kingdom of God established through Christ has saved us from slavery to this world and ransomed us back into restored relationship with our heavenly Father.
Not only does the parable describe the incredible expanse of God’s kingdom from a few to many, it can also illustrate the seed of salvation planted within each of us that God intends to grow into a beautiful and fruit-bearing tree.
Luke 17:21 says: “The Kingdom of God is in the midst of you.”
God’s kingdom is not built of brick and mortar, but of human hearts.
And 1 Peter 2:2 commands us: “Like newborn infants, desire the pure spiritual milk, so that you may grow by it.”
God’s desire is to water the seed of salvation He’s planted in us with the Spirit and the Word. He longs to mold and shape us into the likeness of Jesus, that we might live lives that bear incredible life-giving fruit.
God wants to constantly steward this gift of salvation in each of us, as He does with the global advancement of His Kingdom, that we might bear the wonderful fruit of the Spirit in every area of our lives.
And God is so patient with us. The earth illustrates His patience. Trees grow year after year, season to season by His faithful stewardship. Flowers never begin as beautiful as they are in full bloom. The earth is constantly undergoing abundant transformation as God’s creation grows and changes. You and I are no different. God’s plan has always been to mold us into beautiful pictures of His love. He’s always longed to fashion us until we walk in full, restored relationship with Him. And by the life and death of Christ Jesus, He’s paved the way for His desires to come to fruition. All that’s left is for us to engage fully in this wonderful process He’s created for us. Engage in the growth He longs to birth in you by spending time in His presence and His Word. Allow His gaze to transform you into His likeness. Live in obedience to the Word, and allow it to lead you to an un-conformed life in this world. Follow the guidance of the Spirit as He brings healing to your heart and fruit in your life.
Spend time in prayer allowing God to work in your heart today.
How great is God’s love for us that He doesn’t leave us where we are, but is always transforming us! In the blink of an eye, God sees who we’ve been, who we are, and who we will be. He knows your form, how He’s created you, and what you were born to do. The more time you spend allowing Him to transform you, the more you will understand yourself. May you discover and engage with all that your heavenly Father wants to do in you through His love today.

The Parable of the Good Shepherd
• Have you ever experienced a sense of grand perspective where you realize your smallness in comparison to the earth’s grandeur?
• Have you ever contemplated your small stature in light of how colossal the universe is?
Every now and then, when I get a sense of my smallness, I am overcome by the fear of being lost. I think, “Who will show me my path in this seemingly increasing world? Who will guide me through the various trials and changes that will undoubtedly come my way? Who will help me?”
One of my favorite metaphors in Scripture is God as the Good Shepherd. Jesus is the most equipped guide we could ever have. He holds all of creation in the palm of His hand, and yet He knows the number of hairs on our head. He is the God of the gigantic and a lover of every little detail about us. And He longs to lead us to safe pasture. As we look at the parable of God as the Good Shepherd today, allow your faith and affections to be stirred by God’s promise to guide you into the matchless life He has in store for you.
John 10:14-15 says:
“I am the good Shepherd. I know My own sheep, and they know Me, as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. I lay down My life for the sheep.”
Jesus paved the way for us to enter into the most amazing pasture of all: the very presence of the living God. He laid down His life as our Good Shepherd that we might eat of the fruit of His death and resurrection. But God didn’t only lead us to heaven; He continually leads us as our Good Shepherd day in and day out.
In the famous Psalm 23 David writes:
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I will not be in need. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul; He guides me along the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
God’s staff is meant to comfort us. As our Good Shepherd He promises to lead us daily to the plans He has for us. That doesn’t always mean that we will be led out of “the valley of the shadow of death,” but that in the valley He will be with us. Our great comfort is the fact that God will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). As Psalm 139:9-10 says, “If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.” God is with us in times of trouble. He will protect us, provide for us, and lead us to still waters.
God longs to guide you today.
• What trouble is before you?
• Where do you need guidance?
• Where do you need help?
God promises to be your Good Shepherd. You have the most high God on your side. You can trust in His leadership. Jesus was faithful to come and die so that you might have eternal life. He is faithful to lead you to heaven, and He will certainly lead you through whatever trial you are going through now.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.” ~ Proverbs 3:5-6
Your God is a trustworthy Shepherd. Enter into prayer with expectancy that He will guide you perfectly in His perfect timing. Cast your cares on Him and trust Him. Allow Him to “guide you on the right paths” as you follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
“Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus — the great Shepherd of the sheep — with the blood of the everlasting covenant, equip you with all that is good to do His will, working in us what is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ. Glory belongs to Him forever and ever. Amen.” ~ Hebrews 13:20-21

So many of my Bible footnotes the past few days has had me refer to the Epistle of James, which I did this morning. Now I have read James several times even taught a Bible Study on James, but this morning something that really rang a bell with me was in chapter 1 verse 8, well maybe not the verse but John MacArthur's footnotes really rang my chimes...Vrs. 8--"he is a double minded man, unstable in all his ways."
The footnotes goes like so---"A translation of the Greek expression that denotes having one's mind or soul divided between God and the world. This man is a hypocrite, who occasionally believes in God but fails to trust Him when trials come."--------Now I am not being judgmental not pointing my finger, but just curious how many church goers when really faced with a trial in their personal life really trust in God or do they lean on the world to solve their problems? I think it ties in with "Let your light so shine"-----if the folks we are around see our faith kick in gear when we have trials, see our trust in God, lean on God not on our own understanding,---just maybe we planted a seed and another will add a bit of water and God will make it grow....The little card on my desk that I see every morning has earned a place in my heart & mind and I love to share it every time I get the opportunity. -- " Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that You and I can't handle." So much truth here, if we just remember who the boss is
GOD BLESS----LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE
The Parable of the Prodigal Son
There isn’t a single passage of Scripture that better illustrates the heart of our heavenly Father than the parable of the prodigal son. So as to not miss any of the details of this life-changing passage, open your heart to the Spirit as you read it in its entirety:
“Jesus told them this story: “A man had two sons. The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So, his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living. About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve. He persuaded a local farmer to hire him, and the man sent him into his fields to feed the pigs. The young man became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.”
“When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.” So, he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.’”
“But his father said to the servants, ‘Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So, the party began.”
“Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house, and he asked one of the servants what was going on. ‘Your brother is back,’ he was told, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf. We are celebrating because of his safe return.’ The older brother was angry and wouldn’t go in. His father came out and begged him, but he replied, ‘All these years I’ve slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends. Yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes, you celebrate by killing the fattened calf!’
“His father said to him, ‘Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!’” (Luke 15:11-32)
The life-changing core of the gospel is that when we feel far from God, He is never far from us. The moment we turn back toward Him, He runs out to meet us. The moment we lower ourselves in response to our sin, He exalts us, calls us His child, and throws a party in our honor.
Sometimes the most important truths are the simple ones. Sometimes the very word we need most is the truth we’ve heard thousands of times. My prayer for you today is that you wouldn’t extend yourself past the foundation of the gospel. God’s desire is that we would linger in the revelation of the aftermath of Jesus’ work, that through His life, death, and resurrection we have been raised to newness of life (Romans 6:4). Get lost today in the profound grace of your loving God. Of no work of your own, you have been set free from the bonds of this earth and brought back into the fold of your loving heavenly Father. Through the sacrifice of King Jesus, you have been crowned as a co-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17).
Take time today to simply rest in the foundational truth of the gospel. Run toward God with all humility and allow your heart to be raised up as He exalts you. Humble yourself in light of His majesty and allow Him to pour out a joy over you like you have never felt before. God has every reason to condemn you, but out of His overwhelming love He has chosen to call you His beloved child. Meditate on this life-changing truth and respond to His love with the offering of your life.
There is nothing you could do that could separate you from the love of your heavenly Father. The prodigal son sinned against his father in the worst way a son could. And still the father ran out to meet him at first glance of his son’s return. Your heavenly Father runs to meet you anytime you turn toward Him. Don’t let the enemy spread lies to you that you are too dirty for God, or that you have to fix yourself before you can spend time in His presence. Your relationship with God is based completely on grace, not on works. He loves you because He loves you, not because of what you do. Go out today in the knowledge that you are eternally loved by your heavenly Father. And may His love spur you toward a life lived in the abundance of restored relationship.
