So many of my Bible footnotes the past few days has had me refer to the Epistle of James, which I did this morning. Now I have read James several times even taught a Bible Study on James, but this morning something that really rang a bell with me was in chapter 1 verse 8, well maybe not the verse but John MacArthur's footnotes really rang my chimes...Vrs. 8--"he is a double minded man, unstable in all his ways."
The footnotes goes like so---"A translation of the Greek expression that denotes having one's mind or soul divided between God and the world. This man is a hypocrite, who occasionally believes in God but fails to trust Him when trials come."--------Now I am not being judgmental not pointing my finger, but just curious how many church goers when really faced with a trial in their personal life really trust in God or do they lean on the world to solve their problems? I think it ties in with "Let your light so shine"-----if the folks we are around see our faith kick in gear when we have trials, see our trust in God, lean on God not on our own understanding,---just maybe we planted a seed and another will add a bit of water and God will make it grow....The little card on my desk that I see every morning has earned a place in my heart & mind and I love to share it every time I get the opportunity. -- " Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that You and I can't handle." So much truth here, if we just remember who the boss is
GOD BLESS----LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE
