Im gonna go out on a limb here and say that nobody likes a thief...a person that takes something that dont belong to them...taking something of ours without asking...Stealing! We work hard for what we have and it really gets to us...makes us angry...when something comes up missing and we know someone has helped themselves to something that belongs to us! It just aint dad burn right and we can have many choice words and names for the person that has stolen from us...after all...as good Bible believing Christians...God Himself in the Ten Commandments said...there in number eight..."Thou shall not steal"...because its sin! So lets look inside our own heads this morning and see how we often look at things and find ways to justify our actions. We go to Outback Steak House with a friend and we have a steak, baked potato, salad and tea. We get the check and it seems a little cheap and we see we have been charged for two hamburgers, fries and sodas...do we speak up or sense its their mistake...we pay and leave. We go to Tractor Supply and buy a bag of bird seed, Round-up spray, two denim shirts and when we get to the car and we check the bill cause the total seems lower than it should be we discover we were only charged for one of the denim shirt...do we go back inside and make things right? Hey...they should pay closer attention. We stop at Walmart and buy a few items and we check out and when we get home we discover the cashier gave us ten dollars to much ..what do we do? Not my fault they cant count. In getting our taxes together or in doing them we cheat a little...just a little...Thats really not a big deal is it...i mean...the Federal government aint gonna miss it...right? We sell our car to someone and we hide the fact of a couple mechanical problems...after all...by the time they figure it out or it actually breaks down...wont be my fault...Right! Ok..i know you get the picture without me going on and on. So, in our human frame of mind...is there a difference in those people that we talk about when they steal from us or we read of them in the paper and we bad mouth them...lazy no good bum...or...could it be that in Gods eyes stealing is stealing. Now...what was that eighth commandment and is God going to hold us accountable? Think about it!
