Insights from Job Part Six: Perspective as Worship
Scripture Reading: Job 1:14-22
Key Verse: "Then Job stood up, tore his robe, and shaved his head. He fell to the ground and worshiped, saying: 'Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will leave this life. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Praise the name of Yahweh.' Throughout all this Job did not sin or blame God for anything." ~ Job 1:20-22
There is perhaps nothing more powerful than the ability to worship in the face of suffering. The entire book of Job is an ode to the power of worship. We often talk about Job as a book of perseverance. We talk about it as an example of faith. All of these are a byproduct of Job’s commitment to worship.
In the face of unbearable tragedy, Job’s reaction is praise. He finds a way to be thankful, to celebrate who God is. He grieves. He asks questions. He struggles. But he holds true to a perspective that does not waiver based on these circumstances, no matter how horrendous.
We think of perspective as a way we view the world, something simple and easy that can be adjusted, blown around by the wind. But perspective is the choice we make about what we accept as true.
This is an act of worship.
Declaring truth, clinging to it, and trusting in the journey it takes us on is a difficult enterprise. It is much easier to focus on “fixing” our circumstances. It is much simpler to fight for control, to demand our own way. The mystery of the Kingdom is difficult. Trusting God in all circumstances is challenging. Like Job, we have the ability to choose a perspective of thankfulness and adoration.

Thank you……just hoping to touch another’s heart. Peace in our life is so important
I’m at a loss for words plugger. That is one of the most heart-felt posts I have read - perfect truth in perfect peace with the Lord equals blessed assurance - Jesus is mine. Thank you for sharing your peace with the world!

PEACE----Do you understand Peace? I thought I did & reckon I mostly did----Me thinking I understood peace and actually 100% understanding peace is 2 different things. I know that makes no sense at all, can't help it, I am not the best communicator but bear with me. I struggle with how God can forgive me for all the bad things I have done over the past 80 years, I was a good servant of the devil himself. Then after I came to Christ and was granted forgiveness I still could not understand how a perfect God could just instantly wash all that bad stuff I did away and totally 100% forget it ----I suppose because that is my human side kicking in or maybe a "trick of the devil". Anyway, I was sleeping really good and woke up at 2a.m. with only one thing on my mind and that was the fact that I was at peace, I lay there for a good while trying to get my hands around this, I know inside me exactly what this all means, & I understand Biblical peace like I never before understood, but I do not really have the words to really explain all this. This morning after my coffee & God time and reading my Scriptures I got to looking up in various references books the word PEACE----all the scholars did a good job on writing about peace, but nothing can really explain the inner peace one has with God----a very strange thing. I do not know why I chose to post this other than I like sharing personal Christians experiences. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ into your heart you do not cannot experience the peace I learned about at 2a.m. this morning, If you are a Christian and struggle with your past, and it haunts you like a thorn in your side--- talk with God about your peace with Him----To be 100% at peace with God and the world, hey--A pretty good feeling and it can only be experienced through a relation with God, His Son, Jesus & the Holy Spirit
GOD BLESS & Have a beautiful day & Peace my friends
A New Day
“The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.” ~ Lamentations 3:22-23
There is something significant about the start of a new day. The deck reshuffles. The cycle of life starts anew. We awaken to new opportunity.
Each day has its unique challenges and frustrations. But each new day is a fresh start, a chance to begin again. In a world so full of imperfection, new days are welcome occasions.
Each new day starts with beauty, with promise. The sunrise paints the sky as dawn ushers in another opportunity to live our best life.
The thing that is so beautiful about each morning is the consistency of God and His love for us. We do our best every day.
But many sunrises go unseen. We make mistakes. We fall short. And instead of making a fresh start, perhaps we despair. But God promises we can begin anew. His forgiveness is limitless.
What might be cause for shame and frustration has been redeemed for joy, peace and freedom. What is required is for us to request it, receive it, and embrace it.
Our hope is in the Lord. And although we may not make the best choices every day, He is there to steady us with His Grace and to motivate us with His Love. He is consistent every day. And every day he offers us a fresh opportunity to make new choices. Better choices. Redeeming choices.
The sunrise is a daily reminder that today is a day we can begin anew, and make choices rooted in the reality we can gain from seeing life from God’s perspective, the perspective of a new dawn.

I think to reply here would be to argue the Scriptures and I choose not to go there. You have your faith and I have mine....I respect your view and respect you posting here and I require the same respect from others towards me. Speaking of God, as I understand, the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob is the God of both Jew & Arabs.....actually Scripture states the God is the God of all folks, rich, poor, different nations, different colors......To go beyond that is to open a big ole can of worms. Years ago I was called to accept Jesus as my personal Savior, long story here, I'll just cut to the chase, I stood there in the presence of God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit, I had a decision to make, I thought I could just step out in the hallway and do this later, in my personal time----I choose to go forward,-- I was forgiven of all my past and future sins----Salvation is past--present--future.....You spoke of a professor, when folks get to talking or teaching the give their opinions....The only "true opinion" is the opinion of the Holy Spirit. Scripture is the inspired Word of God, I search there and find my answers.
Like I said I will not argue Scripture, will not tell you are wrong, just voicing my belief----

The Trouble Tree
"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” ~ 1 Peter 5:7
The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farmhouse had just finished a rough first day on the job. A flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric saw quit, and now his ancient pickup truck refused to start.
While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.
After opening the door, he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face was wreathed in smiles, and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss. Afterward, he walked me to my car. We passed the tree, and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.
"Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied. "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing for sure, troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home. Then in the morning, I pick them up again."
"Funny thing is," he smiled, "when I come out in the morning to pick them up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before."

Let me help you out here , #1 the ancient Israelites may be considered as such but when Jesus Christ came onto the scene he brought forth a new direction. As General Patton said " I am familiar with the Lost tribes of Israel and they are just that lost to time and antiquity"
The Palestinians did not start the war , hostilities began when the state of Israel was and this is key "PARTITIONED FROM PALESTINE" against the will of the majority of its inhabitants. Prior to the partition if you care to research you will find that even the CIA reported that the primary hostilities ( rape , murder of unarmed civilians including children and babies ) were infact initiated by Jewish paramilitary groups , the stern gang ,the irgun gang members of which would latter form Israel's first government ...,see also the documentary " Tantura" for more info by the actual perpetrators .
To think that this started on Oct 7 is intellectually lazy . The Palestinians may not share my faith
( though some do) nor my culture and that's fine . As a God fearing human being I support all those who are forced to live under violent military rule .
Do you support as the Nazis or Stalin did the murder of innocent civilians at the hands of a fully mechanized military ?
As an American I am held by patriotism and love of country to stand against any nation that after all we've done for dare to steal and attack us ( see the USS LIBERTY and Jonathan Pollard)
I am not an historian if the topic interests you please review Professor Norman Finkelstein's work an actual historian of the matter.
We give the Israeli ( a population of 7 million ) billions upon billions year after year ,decade after decade that allows them to enjoy an advanced high tech military with the latest in weapons and protective gear that is primarily used against a civilian population that has no Army ,No Air Force , No Navy or heavy armoured divisions.
This is essentially like using the full force of the U.S. military might in leveling LA under the guise of going after gang members the world would rightfully see that has utterly barbaric .
I implore you to go visit Israel and try and preach the gospel...,you will be spat upon immediately the only people the Israeli hate more than Muslims are Christians. In America the primary reason the evangelical support Israel is because they believe Christ will return to liquidate all the Israeli who don't convert to Christianity.... I call that a blood lust .
Even president Truman said of the Israeli ( I fear the underdog has become the overdog) and it's been nothing but bloodshed since . The region and the world would be better off with a Free and Democratic Palestine with equal representation of the three faiths than an nuclear armed ethno religious centric Israel ...,if you believe in the Chosen people narrative then certainly you would agree that it was up to God to allow their return not western governments .
Again if you want an intellectual understanding of the Israeli see professor Norman Finkelstein's work
Can someone explain why all the college campus protests against Israel??? Palestinians started this war Oct 7 against God's people! Do the Palestinians believe in God?
He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword!
If you have came across this board this morning and you are reading a few post out of curiosity because you are searching for something ...maybe you have no ideal what you are looking for...Maybe you have lost all hope....Are you strung out on booze or drugs...Is someone in your life mistreating you...Maybe you have no friends or family...Have you thought about ending your life?
Or...maybe you have everything in this life that a person could want or need when it comes to money and stuff or maybe all that money and stuff just dont seem to tickle that itch like you once thought it did. Maybe you dont have a clue why your are sitting here reading this stuff yet here you are. Whatever the case... as bad off or as well off as you might be as far as earthly things and your life goes...You know there is something missing...you are searching for something...Well let me say to you...you have come to the right place...you are not here by mistake...it is all part of Gods plan for you to find the Joy...Hope...Peace and Contentment that is lacking in your life. If you could only know the earthly hell that i was living just 28 years ago with 25 years of self inflected hell from booze and drugs under my belt until age 40 and all the difference that has been made in my life since i saw the error of my ways and responded to a light that shined on my path. Nothing that i have done myself....I owe everything...including my very life....to the same person that could and can very well change and save you. That person is JESUS.
However i dont want you to just sit there and say a few words or pray a short prayer just for the sake of trying to grasp ahold of something....Yes...salvation is free and JESUS is more than willing to give it to you right now...Yes...right this very minute. But you cant just pray a prayer from your mouth and hope for the best. You have to prayer a prayer from your heart...and mean it like nothing you have ever said to anyone before. JESUS is always there...just waiting for you to ask for forgiveness of your sins and wicked lifestyle....But to receive salvation full and free...you must ask from the bottom of your heart with true repentance....then JESUS will come into your life and heart and soul and make changes in you that you also will not be able to believe....im not saying that all these things will happen all at once...it will take time...and im not saying that all your problems will disappear like right now....But the Peace and Joy and Contentment and Love that will come into your life...you will know it...and as time passes...you will know it more and more....JESUS is Love and He is everything you need to help you find all the things that are lacking in your life at this very moment!
In John 14:6, JESUS said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me.”
To reach God and live in heaven after you die, you must accept JESUS as your personal Savior and Lord.
If you feel like you are ready to accept JESUS into your life right now...just pray this simple little prayer from your heart...and he will start you on that narrow road that leads to your heavenly home some day!
Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner and that my sin separates me from You. I realize that I can’t do anything to earn my way into heaven. I believe that JESUS took the punishment for my sins by dying on the cross and coming back to life. I accept You JESUS as my Savior and Lord. And I will try my best to please You all the days of my life. Forgive me of my sins and fill me Holy Spirit to help me and guide me thru the rest of my life here on earth. Thank You for forgiving me and saving me now. In JESUS name i praise You.... Amen.
If you accepted JESUS CHRIST as your Savior, then you can be sure He heard you. The Bible says,
“Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
You have just begun a relationship with God and you will definitely spend eternity in heaven with Him!
If you dont have a church...find a good Bible preaching and teaching church and go.....Talk to the preacher and tell him what you have done....that you are a new born-again believer. As a matter of fact....go and tell everyone!
Send me a PM here at I-hub
If you like ill be more than happy to call you by phone and we can talk about your NEW life in Christ!
JESUS Saves!
The Beauty of God’s Word
~ Sometimes all we need in the chaotic moments of life is a little time to hear from our Father.
Scripture Reading: Psalm 19:7-8
The world we live in is loud — even deafening at times. But the peace of God’s Word turns down the noise, offering tranquil truth and beauty in place of clamor.
Psalm 19:7-8 is a reminder that Scripture provides us with wisdom and clarity by:
1. Restoring the Soul.
God’s Word has everything our wounded and weary souls need. When life’s struggles wear us down, it brings restoration by providing comfort, hope, and renewal.
2. Making Wise the Simple.
The insight and guidance contained in Scripture surpass worldly knowledge. God’s wisdom is not exclusive to the educated or elite, but is offered to anyone willing to receive it.
3. Rejoicing the Heart.
The precepts of the Lord are right, reminding us of our identity and purpose in Christ. This brings lasting joy in a world filled with temporary pleasures.
4. Enlightening the Eyes.
The commandment of the Lord is pure and teaches us spiritual truths. When we seek God’s guidance in His Word, we gain clarity and perspective, which help us navigate through confusion and darkness.
God’s Word is truly a precious and beautiful gift — it is a source of strength and a light for our path.

Maturity in Christ Jesus
"Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ."
"Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every kind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of His body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love."
~ Ephesians 4:11-16 (NLT)

well put......you mentioned the "pesky flesh, getting us to do wrong".....in my study of Romans in chap. 7: starting around verse 13 (I think) anyway Paul speaks of what he does is not what he is suppose to do.....now if a writer of a good part of the New Testament struggled with doing right and constantly walking the Christian walk, if he struggled what would ever make a 2024 Christian think they were free from the struggle. None of us are made perfect until we die and go to heaven, then we are perfect in God's eyes and WHY? all to do with Jesus Christ. Several places in the Scriptures it says we are to believe and that's it, just believe.... HUMMM, now many will just say I believe so I am saved.....what in Scripture does "believe " mean: ?-- from my Scofield Study Bible
"believes is more than an intellectual assent to a fact. The word (Greek pistes, noun; piste, verb; means adherence to, committal to, faith in, reliance
upon, trust in a person or object, and this not only involves the consent of the mind, but an act of the heart and will of the subject. "Whoever believes in Him". is equivalent to whoever trust in or commits himself to Him (Christ). "
Think of believe as glue.....we say we believe in Jesus--- but are we stuck to Christ as glue holds objects together
Jus say'n
Hey...i went back and counted and i have one post left...wink...so....this is what i like Ranb2khz...being up front...man to man...in a kind and gentle way of Jesus....explaining the reason for your actions! This is part of what walking the walk is all about....This is what life a few decades ago was like here in the United States...like the times when a hand shake was a binding and legal document...so to speak. I believe that most...the majority of social media is totally of satan....many people hiding behind monitors saying anything and everything with no repercussions of their actions...no fear of being taken behind the wood shed...which im sorry...not really...i totally believe in. So with that said...ill close with good job in being open and honest with love and compassion.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
Y'all have a awesome weekend!
I reckon not that it really matters but yet it does....i just want to say....i usually make time to post on IHUB about 3 times a week on average...and at least once a week when im here i try to catch up on the post here...the thing is....i only post on the Bible...Eternity and Christian Prayer Room boards. Usually when i post its about 9 or 10 post...the same stuff on all three boards. Im a free member on IHUB so i only get 30 post a day....and i think this is number 30....so...its not that im ignoring what y'all post...i just run out of post to reply....and trust me...out here in real life...so to speak...my friends wish i had that limitation as well...wink. So...thats my worthless excess and im sticking to it!
Y'all have a most awesome weekend!
Good morning...As we know the ole saying....we dont just talk the talk we also walk the walk....so...when we are living life that way we tend to let our light shine...Jesus thru us...unto others. Yes of course we are all human...we all still have our pesky flesh...we are still our own worst enemy with satan and the world a close second....but....our words and actions are kept in check so to speak by the power of the Holy Spirit living in us and by meditating on the word day and night and we are praying without ceasing....both a mindset thru Jesus! God created all of us with a job and jobs to do and at the top of that list is Jesus thru us seeing lost souls saved. I know what God saved me from....the Helter Skelter life i lived until age 40...and i know that God can save anyone from their wicked lifestyle no matter what they have done...and then....to get out of the bed each day and punch the heavenly time clock and get out there and do the work God has assigned us to do...to be that Good Samaritan and help build Gods kingdom! And yes...the lost are watching us...and as tragic as it is....sometimes just one slipup...sin...on out part and they go straight to oh look the hypocrite church goer acting just like everyone else...and thats all they focus on. Thats why it is so important when unbelievers see as at our worst...see us sin...we really need to stop and acknowledge to them....im sorry man...im not like this....im a follower of Jesus and im not suppose to behave this way...not talk this way...so would you please forgive me. I tell y'all that goes a long long way in a witness to that or those persons. And yes that includes in person...on social media...IHUB....everywhere....Ok....i was replying to you plugger and i may have drifted off topic...what was i talking about.....man....you have done it to me again brother....SIGH!
Some good stuff out here this morning......GOD BLESS & y'all have a very good week-end, if you go out and around, be careful because there are some really weird people out there...
If you are reading this and you are a born-again believer....id like to ask you a question. How many people do you know that are what we call "unsaved". And if you are reading this and aint sure what that means...unsaved...(because you are unsaved)...let me clarify what that means. Unsaved...you have not believed in who Jesus says He is and have not invited Jesus into you heart by asking Him for forgiveness of your sins up to this point in time. And as a believer...in the daily life that you live...how many people do you see...walk by...work with...that most likely are also unsaved. I have heard it estimated that here in the United States...that only maybe 20% of the population is saved...they have a personal relationship with Jesus. That means that 80% is headed to hell. Remember...there is a big difference in calling oneself a christian and actually being born-again. It is also estimated that the earth as a whole maybe 10% is saved. That means that 90% is headed to hell. So...lets look at that. As believers we have the blessed assurance that when we die...in the twinkle of the eye...we will be in the presence of God...and...Jesus...in heaven. And...we have a "pretty good" idea what hell is going to be like and just how bad and tragic its going to be...right? Lets refresh our memory. Right now....somewhere...there is a person that is unsaved that has just died...each day on planet earth 150,000 people die....90% of those are headed to hell...do the math...every day....remember...the road to hell is wide and the road to heaven is narrow. So...when a unsaved person dies...in that moment they are taken to Hades...in torment...awaiting judgement day to be cast into Hell...the lake of fire...for...Forever! What is Hell...Hell will be a dark place...cant see your hand in front of your face...but there will be a lake of fire...fire consumed all around...but no light...thats the way God created it....and that person will burn in Hell...in complete pain and agony...for...Forever. They will have a supernatural body that will NOT burn up. And for forever they will hear billions of people....there with them....screaming in torment...for Forever. Remember...Forever never ends...Got that? But even worse than that i believe...is that they are going to be separated from God and his love...for...Forever. So every moment they are going to be in total despair...depression...sadness...to the point of suicide...but suicide is not a option...wishing they had surrendered their life to Jesus before it was to late...because...there are no do-overs. So...how many unsaved people do you know...and knowing the reality of hell and that all these people are headed there...When did you last tell someone about Jesus? Remember...as believers we have job...so to speak...a responsibility to do what....to go unto all the world....(and that can be just our home town)....and make disciples...to tell others about Jesus and satan...right and wrong...heaven and hell....right? Remember...as believers....the sin of omission is just as sinful as the sin of commission. What if we told just one person each week about Jesus...what if we told just one person everyday about Jesus....90% of the worlds 7.6 billion people are unsaved...the majority of folks in your hometown are unsaved.....we dont have to look far....Soooooooooooooooooo???

Insights from Job Part Five: Closing Arguments
~ One of the earliest stories in human history, The Book of Job is a foundational exploration of what it means to be human, how to relate to an Almighty God, and how to navigate the challenging (sometimes tragic) circumstances of daily life. This is the fifth of a seven part series that explores insights from The Book of Job and how to apply them to what we decide today.
Scripture Verses:
"Listen closely to what I am about to say. Hear me out. I have prepared my case; I will be proved innocent." ~ Job 13:17-18
When difficult circumstances find their way into our lives, we often react the way Job has in these verses. We petition for a trial. If God could just hear our case. If he would listen to our perspective on the matter…
It’s a tempting course. Our perspective on justice is inevitably biased and we are very likely to begin with the case already decided in our favor. We believe if we could just explain our situation to God, he would surely change things.
But God does not need more of our perspective. We need more of His. Even if our evidence makes a certain amount of sense, as it does with Job, the Lord understands what is going on at a deeper level than we do. He eventually tells Job as much in the verbal perspective-overhaul that closes the book.
A secret to living above our circumstances is to understand that God knows where we are coming from. He understands. He knows what we think and what we want even better than we do.
The circumstances of life are not accusations. They are simply the arena in which we must make our choices.
Job’s circumstances are tough. Really tough. So are many of ours. Like Job, we cannot wish away circumstances. And demanding our own verdict won’t work out the way we hope.
But we can always know that our Creator is present with us to teach and guide us through every circumstance. It is natural to seek comfortable circumstances, but the Eternal Judge offers us a better deal: we can seek our comfort in Him.

Mankind Spoke into Existence
"Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, all the earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.”
"So God created man in His own image;
"He created him in the image of God;
He created them male and female."
"God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.”
"God also said, “Look, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the surface of the entire earth and every tree whose fruit contains seed. This food will be for you, for all the wildlife of the earth, for every bird of the sky, and for every creature that crawls on the earth — everything having the breath of life in it. I have given every green plant for food.”
"And it was so.”
"God saw all that He had made, and it was very good."

Bigfootbud, I appreciate the link to the information concerning the apparent “ground-breaking” new cancer fighting technology. I removed your message from this board, as well as, the other boards that I moderate due to the fact of it being 1. Spam - as the same message was posted on 3+ boards, and 2. The manner in which the message was worded lent itself to being a stock promotion - which would also be considered “Off-Topic”. Pray that you understand the reasons for removing your post. God bless!

No matter what falls my way—- the good—- the bad——the ugly —— I always try to remember Psalm 50:15
“Call upon Me in you time of trouble and I will deliver you; And you shall glorify Me”——- many times so many folks remember the 1st part of this verse, then when things get better they forget the last part……..jus say’n
A good one thanks ------this goes along with several other of Paul's writings......Sometimes Christians think more highly of their understanding than they should. We as Christians always need to know and understand that not everyone is at the same place in their Christian walk. Paul often spoke of the weak in faith, or the newer ones to the faith and how those who are advanced in their faith need to be understanding and patient. Then too, we as Christians need to remember that each is given talents some get several talents and some get only one talent, but whatever we use them to glorify God. If I may give what I think is a good example, I spend a lot of time in Bible study, I really enjoy learning, then on the other hand Rick (Tenac) spends hours each week doing the Lord's work, sharing his life stories with others, prison ministry, every Thursday night at his church they have a thing to help folks struggling with whatever life has tossed their way....my point, God uses Rick to do the work for God, then God uses me in granting me understanding to share the Gospel when the opportunity should arise. Then we have Ranb2khz who really does a great job maintaining this Bible Board, when this board was almost dead & buried he hung in there and gave it life, he did as God called him, then we have those who post occasionally sharing their life's experience to their life's thoughts on life in general, then we have those who come to visit the board and read the post and hopefully leave with a thought or 2 to share share in their little corner of the world.......OH ME !!! I never intended to go on & on, but sometimes I get going on and then realize---OOOPPPSS!!
GOD BLESS---And remember the only Bible some will see today is you-----What will they read?

In today’s passage, the apostle Paul writes, “[Do not] put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s or sister’s way … For if because of food your brother or sister is hurt, you are no longer walking in accordance with love” (vv. 13, 15). God’s kingdom isn’t about what we eat or drink — or any other “rule” we think we must follow. Rather, it’s about the transformative work of the Holy Spirit within us.
When we align with God’s righteousness, seeking His ways and His will, joy blossoms. The Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Guide, brings it to life within us. He reminds us of God’s love, assures us of our salvation, and empowers us to live in harmony with those around us. This is not some superficial or temporary happiness; it’s the fruit of the Spirit dwelling in us (Galatians 5:22-23) and transcends our circumstances.
Take a moment to reflect on the joy that comes from knowing God and seeking Him. This profound sense of stability and strength cannot be bought or manufactured — it flows from our connection to the Source of all joy and is a taste of the eternal pleasures that await us in God’s presence (Psalm 16:11).

Insights from Job Part Four: Job’s Choices
"Throughout all this Job did not sin or blame God for anything." ~ Job 1:22
No matter how bad things get for Job, there is one thing Satan cannot take away. His choices. Health and circumstances decline, to tragic degrees. But Job still exercises his ability to choose. No matter how bad it gets, he keeps deciding.
Satan’s bet is basically this: if circumstances get bad enough, either Job will make radically different choices that mirror his circumstances or forget he has choices and flow with the tide of tragedy.
Job’s friends try to lead him to this conclusion. The common sense of worldly wisdom would lead him there.
But Job makes another decision. He chooses faith in God. He chooses to trust his Creator. His circumstances don’t determine his decisions. Importantly, neither do his decisions determine his circumstances. Job’s choices transcend his circumstances. And this is the magic of obedience to God. It is bigger than the events, the arenas in which we decide. It doesn’t play by their rules.
We each have the same opportunity as Job. We cannot control circumstances by our decisions, but we can choose our perspective. And we can make decisions out of a place of trust.
Circumstances are a necessary setting for life to play out. But each day is about the choices we make in the drama we call “life.” Nothing is more important than the choices before us. And nothing in life negates those choices and their cosmic implications. The only way we lose our choice is by forfeit, which is in itself a choice.

Glad I kicked your "P" brain in gear....but now you gone and done it....got me to thinking, why do I always put evil 1st and good 2nd? I always do in just chatting with someone...but then now days boys think they are girls, & girls think they are boys, mom & dads think their kid are of a different sex, several preachers tell lies from the pulpit, much of the Sunday School Literature really sucks, politicians think more of their bank account than their fellow Americans, going to war really lines the pockets of folks, except those in uniform, our American flag is being burned while some Arab flag is being waved, I suppose I could go on & on, but you folks get the picture-----evil is so ever present in our world today. How to overcome this terrible situation, In my little corner of the world I try my best to be polite to others, anytime the Holy Spirit opens the door for me to mention God, I try, I personally look for the good and I mostly find good. Now I have not always been thais way, I use to look for the bad and angry, and there it was, I looked for the nasty folks and bingo there they were. This morning at Heart Rehab one to the nurses spoke with me about stress in my life----I told her I have no stress or very, very little and explained how I handle it ----then I told here that I am 80 yrs. old, I don't have time to stress out and ever since I put God in my life I look at all things differently----He handles my stress....hey works for me-----I do appreciate all comments made here on the Bible Board--Agreeable or disagreeable--if a person feels like putting something out here but also think it is crazy to do so, well, God will use it to help someone----it could be crazy, not useful but God can use it to touch another's heart---God Bless
Good morning brother plugger....Its funny how sometimes we can read something that on the surface seems so simple...so to speak...but from that and the Holy Spirit prompting us...a really good discussion can come forth in our head and heart. You said....
I have this card on my desk and I see it everyday:
LORD HELP ME TO REMEMBER THAT NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO ME TODAY
THAT YOU AND I CAN'T HANDLE TOGETHER.
Sort of a net thing to keep in mind, we are not in this war of evil vrs good all by ourselves
There is sooooo much in Psalm 23. I read it every morning along with Matthew 6:8-13 or sometimes rather than Matthew I use Luke 11, then I go on with my coffee with God time....My prayer. list keeps getting bigger & bigger and about the only thing my mind works well at.
GOD BLESS & and remember to wear your Christian attitude today
The Actor
"I am the good shepherd. I know My own sheep, and they know Me, 15 as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. I lay down My life for the sheep.” ~ John 10:14-15
There was once a Shakespearean actor who was known everywhere for his one-man shows of readings and recitations from the classics. He would always end his performance with a dramatic reading of Psalm 23.
Each night, without exception, as the actor began his recitation -- "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want"... the crowd would listen attentively. Then, at the conclusion of the Psalm, they would rise in thunderous applause in appreciation of the actor's incredible ability to bring the verse to life.
But one night, just before the actor was to offer his customary recital of Psalm 23, a young man from the audience spoke up, "Sir, do you mind if tonight I recite Psalm 23?". The actor was quite taken back by this unusual request, but he allowed the young man to come forward and stand front and center on the stage to recite the Psalm, knowing that the ability of this unskilled youth would be no match for his own talent.
With a soft voice, the young man began to recite the words of the Psalm. When he was finished, there was no applause. There was no standing ovation as on other nights. All that could be heard was the sound of weeping. The audience had been so moved by the young man's recitation that every eye was full of tears.
Amazed by what he had heard, the actor said to the youth, "I don't understand. I have been performing Psalm 23 for years. I have a lifetime of experience and training - but I have never been able to move an audience as you have tonight. Tell me, what is your secret?"
The young man quietly replied, "Well sir, you might know the Psalm... but I know the Shepherd."

Amen and Amen brother plugger!
.
I tried to get rid of one of those AMENs....but could not----reckon that post deserved a double Amen
Good morning...and...a big AMEN to that!
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
Let us not forget...GOD...created the heavens and the earth and every living thing on it...God...our living and loving God...the One and only God...the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob...the great "I AM"...He is sovereign...He is in complete control. He is holding the balance of the universe in His hands. He gives us our every breath and heartbeat. Everything that happens...outside our own free will...is sent by God...or...he allows it. Nothing takes Him by surprise. Nothing is beyond His reach and control and nothing takes priority over Him! He has promised to never leave or forsake us. He loves His children with a love that we truly cant understand the breadth, length, depth, and height of it. And God really does want the best for us according to His awesome perfect will while we are living here on planet earth. And...He has also prepared a place for us that everything is going to be perfect with our home in heaven one day. So on this beautiful Wednesday morning i ask you...where is your faith and trust...is it in God "all the time"...or...just "now and then"? Do you really believe that God always has a perfect plan and purpose and do you believe this awesome promise from Romans 8:28..."And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose".....Do have a awesome and blessed day and remember...if you are a born-again believer...the war has already been won and the victory is ours!...thank you Jesus!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:10
