Interesting fact brought up during tonight's broadcast - When A-rod was released on August 13, 2016, it opened a roster spot for Aaron Judge.

Tatis banned 80 games for testing positive for Clostebol
“The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced on Friday that San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Clostebol, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.”
Schmidt gettin' stretched----last nite vs the Worcester Red Sox
perfect 6 innings...11 k's
The case for "Paying the Man".
The Yankees need stability in the outfield
And it’s yet another reason to sign Aaron Judge
But if carpenter is back and stanton and everyone is healthy I ask this who are you sitting for bader.
Against a Righty
Of Bentendi, Judge, and stanton
1bRizzo
2b Torres
SS IKF, (should call up peraza and let him play, another guy who I don't think is very good (IKF))
3b DJ
C Trevino
DH Carpenter (Now whether he is back for the playoff, but if he is that is a lineup should look against a righty)
Against a lefty
Of Bentendi, Judge, and stanton
1bRizzo
2b Torres
SS IKF, (should call up peraza and let him play, another guy who I don't think is very good (IKF))
3b DJ
C Trevino
DH Donaldon
Under no circumstances Should Hick, Higgy, or bader see the light of day in either starting lineup if they are healthy. Now if is a big word though.
You think Bader sucks---a ton of people disagree with you---no need to show me his stats. I've seen them...
He is one of, perhaps the, best CFers in baseball---I'll take that any day in the playoffs---I don't think you were around in '69 when 3 amazing catches played an integral part in your amazing Mets winning it all...
hopefully he gets healthy by Sept and you can tell me I told you so---or not
until then--it's a moot point along with Montgomery
Well the AL East is not that great. The Rays are mediocre, the red sox well I could of told you what they were gonna do against the braves, snap them out of it. The bluejays are all in on being the biggest underachiver this year. And the orioles are a nice story, but don't know if they could keep this up. Heck even if you go 3-7 against the AL East nobody is coming for you. Nobody, because I have given up on the bluejays firing at this point I have been waiting for there run and it just hasn't happened in my opinion.
Did I mention the AL is not very good this year. I like the Astros, don't get me wrong the yanks are good, but there pitching concerns me if sevy isn't back.
It is a role of the dice what cole we get at this point. To be fair he is good more often then he is bad, but when he is bad he gives his team no chance. Don't trust tailon, don't trust german, (Both guys I rather have Montgomery start a game to be honest. You have montas and nestor who should start playoff games, but sevy needs to be back to give you a quality 4 starting pitchers in the playoffs, because if you throw Tailon/German I believe they will get destroyed in the playoffs.
Montas is not as good as castillo in my opinion. Although the package the reds wanted was far more. I would of still went with Montas depsite his struggles in his 1rst start, than give up what the reds asked for. Having said that you could of gotten both of them. I think you could of got castillo for volpe plus. So I truely believe you could of gotten both, but you would have had to destroy the farm to do so. Although you probably could of helped yourself that way if Jordan Montgomery was traded for decent prospect that you could of sent in one of those two deals rather, than the not very good and injured bader, who if the yanks are healthy should start 0 playoff games in my opinion.
Well we won our first series against the AL East when we beat Baltimore in a one game series yesterday. LOL
10 in a row vs the AL east and then the Mets---time to wake up
Is a 3 game series in Boston the right medicine for the Yankees to get back on track?
Even tho' it looks like we can't beat the guy LOL, I say it's a good thing as we were never gonna get them both and Montas' stuff is just as good and we keep 3 potential starters----we'll see
Is it a good thing that the Reds didn't take the offer.
Who the Yankees did — and did not — offer to get Luis Castillo
or sat him in 1956...
Makes you wonder how many times Brian Cashman would have sent Mickey Mantle down if he had options.
Yup. Some really, really good teams aren't going to win the World Series this year. And most of them are in the NL.
That "bonehead situation" just gave the Astros (71-40) home field advantage over the Yankees (71-41).
When Michael King was lost for the season, wasn't Ron Marinacchio viewed as the 8th inning guy? Consideration for players options is not the way to field a winning team.
Yep---Marinacchio and Schmidt---but they are stuck in Scranton because Abreu, who was already let go earlier this year and then subsequently dumped by two other teams before we got him back, is out of options---bonehead situation as Abreu has been a disaster for weeks
>>>>> # 45 <<<<<
Did Aaron Boone have any better options other than Albert Abreu?
Tough loss when you waste a Higahioka go ahead dinger...
End result is another game, another loss, The Yankees continue to play badly here, granted nothing is coming for you guys, so I continue to say nothing to worry about right now, but for a team 30 games over .500, you should have more confidence watching this team. I continue to say the NL is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the AL this year. If we took the top 8 records in baseball 6 of them would be in the NL.
50 to go---last 50 games, he's hit 21--but, as SSkillz noted, walks will increase
Pay the Man
Bookends would be nice--walkoff the last one
Josh Donaldson's 2022 highlight will be his opening day walk-off single.
Gleyber is overly agressive and has a bit of a hero complex, which is not all bad---granted, he has a few walkoffs, but swings at anything, even with the bases loaded
frustrating to watch him step in against a pitcher who is struggling to find the plate, especially with the sacks full and he lets them off the hook---worst thing that happens to him is every now and then he crushes a shot to Left---he's a way better hitter going RC
Yeah Glyber is hitting 200 in the 2nd half. Admittingly he needs to snap out of it and fast. donaldson have u seen his home/road splits this year, he cannot hit at Yankee stadium. Strange, but also true.
Yep---a combination of Donaldson and Gleyber (who has been awful) is not much cover
Well to be fair with Stanton out, rizzo out and Now carpenter out this isn't the same team, that is a part of why they scored all those runs. They need those guys back. Because Judge right now doesn't have alot around him in terms of protection.
Judge has been fantastic, but he needs some help, and right now most of the help isn't playing. He is gonna walk more and more till some of those guys come back.
I'm enjoying the O's--they fear no one...and right in the thick of it
it's hard to believe this team has scored more runs than anybody else with so many holes in the lineup
Pay the Man
I thought about mentioning that about the Yankees, but mentioning that seemed mean spirited, heck it was mean spirited enough Just to watch that. Thankfully there is nobody coming for the yanks for yankee fans, they could litterlly play like garbage for the remainder of the season, and they have been 10-17 in there last 27, so they have. But the bluejays who you would think would make a run it never materializes. And the best team in the division right now is the orioles, but heck a market correction has to be a coming there. So the thing is the yanks could go 10-17 in the next 27, and what do they lose 3-4 games in the process. The whole AL is so Medicore Not named The Yanks and Astros. I mean you can't find another team more than 10 games over 500. In fact there are more teams over 10 games over .500 in the NL East than there is in the whole AL combined. Hence panicking about the yanks, that you hear on radio, etc, sounds great, but nobody else is all that great either in my opinion. I mean don't get me wrong the Astros should be the favorite but after that I don't see much, maybe the white sox come on in the Al Central now that they are finally getting healthy. But other than the mariners are okay, the bluejays should be good, but as I said they have not fired all year. There is nothing there. So Yanks got a decent shot to get to the WS despite there deficiencies, and the managing which is not exactly buck level if you get what I'm trying to say. The Astros are the favorite and a big one, but the yanks are still the clear cut 2nd choice and it isn't even close. So despite the regular season struggles here, they will get there chances.
Although if stanton, Carpenter, and rizzo isn't back and healthy they will have almost no shot against Houston. Judge is gonna walk too much with this lineup as of right now because there is limited protection at best without those bats right now.
Great display of sportsmanship---speaking of Little Leaguers, I saw displays of that last nite in Seattle on the basepaths---baserunning blunders in the 10th, 11th, and 12th---must be a record to only send 2 batters to the plate in consecutive extra innings ---giving away 4 outs on the bases in extras is a disaster...

Acuna is hurt - not acuna
Notice that Jose Trevino is catching Gerrit Cole tonight.
In fairness that is the only good thing I can say about your gm lately was the renfroe trade. Because he and ownership did everything in his power to have them not make the playoffs at the deadline.
In the case of Donaldson, substitute the word PAST for the word FUTURE and you have some excellent analysis.

Well, beat the drum and hold the phone - the sun came out today!
We're born again, there's new grass on the field.
A-roundin' third, and headed for home, it's a brown-eyed handsome man;
Anyone can understand the way i feel.
Chorus:
Oh, put me in, coach - i'm ready to play today;
Put me in, coach - i'm ready to play today;
Look at me, i can be centerfield.
Well, i spent some time in the mudville nine, watchin' it from the bench;
You know i took some lumps when the mighty casey struck out.
So say hey willie, tell ty cobb and joe dimaggio;
Don't say "it ain't so", you know the time is now.
Chorus
Yeah! i got it, i got it!
Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes;
You know i think it's time to give this game a ride.
Just to hit the ball and touch 'em all - a moment in the sun;
(pop) it's gone and you can tell that one goodbye!

Field of Dreams (1989)
"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray.
It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.
Oh people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come."
