IKF's Rodney Dangerfield moment---Yankees negotiated a return of his HR ball yesterday----the fan wanted a Judge autographed ball LOL
There not done. But they better hope to make the playoffs as a division winner. Because I truely believe both the braves and Phillies will be wc team, as will the padres.
As for the brewers, not to look ahead you also got a 6 game stretch against the mets/Yankees as well. Right now it is the cardinal division to lose.
LOL..you can add up the last 4 years and he's still short of 30/30
But isn't he honing in on 30/30??
Don't count out Milwaukee yet in the NL Central. They're half a game out of first with plenty of head to head action left. Just let's not talk about the 7 games vs the Dodgers!
OK...this might not be our new closer LOL
maybe he is---got Devers and Bogaerts with 2 men on---nice play by Trevino
Looks like the Red Sox never practiced the "wheel play" in spring training.
Perfect bunt---please sit Hicks forever---LoCastro is probably a bit better in the field and can't hit any worse...
now let's see what tonite's closer Effross can do
The safety squeeze was a very smart move by IKF with Aaron Hicks due up next.
Yep---they did him a favor getting picked off in the 7th---the few pitches he threw were all over the place
Aroldis Chapman appears to pitch better if he comes in with no runners on base.
IKF off the schneid with his best Bucky %^&$# Dent impression
Judge has 64 walks which are increasing---the year Bonds hit 73 he had 177 walks
Decent year at Scranton--Yanks are waiting on him to get a handle on breaking balls and changeups
good defender--plus arm---speed---I would have brought him up instead of LoCastro , sat Hicks, and given the guy a look
Hicks doesn't even enter into my "pissed off" sweepstakes---I'm way beyond that with him---his only redeeming value is he can catch the ball a bit...
Any word on Estevan Florial?
He also said there are no plans to bring up Peraza
I agree--but I make my "managerial" decisions based on who has pissed me off the most---and right now it is Gleyber LOL
I get torres has had a horrible august so far. But that is no reason to sit him over donaldson who is old, and IKF who simply doesn't have enough talent to start, now or ever.
Oh, I'd play Peraza at SS---DJ at 2B--and decide who is the lesser evil at 3B, Donaldson or IKF---neither has hit and IKF won a GG at 3B--Donaldson has some pop while IKF makes contact
For me I would call up peraza, but that would be to get rid of IKF not torres. IKF is got to go. He has 0 homers, 0 in Yankee stadium. That is hard to do. He barely has a 300 obp. That is a player that needs to go in my opinion.
Gleyber penciled in at cleanup again---bring up Peraza
Who you gonna call "Ghost Busters" - Aaron Hicks, Gleyber Torres, and Josh Donaldson.
Now that Matt Carpenter has been given some positive news, who will the first one back from the IL Carpenter or Giancarlo Stanton?
Matt Carpenter’s hopeful Yankees injury forecast: ‘I’ll be back this season’
It's quite apparent that this month long funk has gotten into Clay Holmes' head. The fear of throwing a bad pitch has now become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Might as well go use Aroldis Chapman as the closer until Clay Holmes gets his confidence back, the worst thing Chapman can do is to blow a save.
As I said to soxy, when he told me the red sox were gonna kill the braves. We all can dream.
May be we can also dream the Yankees can get a ghost runner in on occasion. Was that too soon? LOL.
Despite being signifcantly better then the cardinals I know better not to overlook them. I have a general respect for the franchise. It is a good franchise in my opinion.
To be fair I don't think the cardinals would be the favorite of what ever wc they play, I mean the braves, Padres, and Phillis are better on paper, than again I could of said that about the 2006 mets, how did that work out against the cardinals. different team, but in the playoff the hot team can often beat the better team.
Happy for him--he's a good kid in a good baseball town---wish him well---maybe he'll throw a gem vs the Mets in the playoffs--wouldn't that be sweet
in the meantime I don't spend any time wondering which back of the rotation starter is better--Monty, German, Taillon--all expendable and I'd rather see Clark Schmidt slot in for any of them
Domingo German pitched well enough to win last night, only to be betrayed by his closer.
Speaking of montgomery did u see his excellent numbers last night. And notice Judge's walks, they are climbing, and without stanton and carpenter, that will continue in my opinion.
Someone needs to tell Gleyber Torres to stop swinging for the fences when all that is needed is a single to score the run.
Never thought I'd ever entertain that thought again just a few weeks back---but Chapman has been that good and Holmes has been that bad...
my gawd, Hicks, Gleyber, and Donaldson are painful to watch-----in our last 7 innings with the ghost runner, we haven't scored once
so many holes in this lineup---and what a waste of a performance by German and every reliever up to Holmes
If Clay Holmes doesn’t get out of this funk, we might be seeing Aroldis Chapman in the ninth.
WOW DEION .... HUMILITY MY MAN, AND EGO IN CHECK ... SMH!

Will Clay Holmes wake up from his month long nightmare--not tonite
Expensive pill he took
Yep..about $1.48M this season, $1.38M next, and the remainder is a portion of his signing bonus paid during this period
The $3.2 million number comes from the story at mlb.com
“Tatis, who signed a 14-year, $340 million extension prior to last season, will forfeit roughly $3.2 million during the suspension.”
His big money is back ended
Fernando Tatis Jr. ss
14 years/$340M (2021-34)
14 years/$340M (2021-34)
signed extension with San Diego 2/22/21
$10M signing bonus
21:$1M, 22:$5M, 23:$7M, 24:$11M, 25:$20M, 26:$20M, 27:$25M, 28:$25M, 29-36:$36M annually
Off season motorcycle costs him most of the season, now this. And a 14 year $341 million contract signed in 2020. He'll forfeit $3.2 million during the suspension
23 years old---yikes
Field of Dreams indeed. Baseball has a lot to answer for, what with the shabby treatment of minor leaguers and the lack of minority representation at the top end. There would be a lot of Tatises shooting up behind the scenes before coming through the cornfield. For many, it's their only chance.
Yankees might surpass that number after they re-sign Aaron Judge.

Well, beat the drum and hold the phone - the sun came out today!
We're born again, there's new grass on the field.
A-roundin' third, and headed for home, it's a brown-eyed handsome man;
Anyone can understand the way i feel.
Chorus:
Oh, put me in, coach - i'm ready to play today;
Put me in, coach - i'm ready to play today;
Look at me, i can be centerfield.
Well, i spent some time in the mudville nine, watchin' it from the bench;
You know i took some lumps when the mighty casey struck out.
So say hey willie, tell ty cobb and joe dimaggio;
Don't say "it ain't so", you know the time is now.
Chorus
Yeah! i got it, i got it!
Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes;
You know i think it's time to give this game a ride.
Just to hit the ball and touch 'em all - a moment in the sun;
(pop) it's gone and you can tell that one goodbye!

Field of Dreams (1989)
"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
This field, this game, is a part of our past, Ray.
It reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.
Oh people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come."
