LTBR - some more notes
Yes, I believe this drinking man will make it . And I believe just now : JULY - AUGUST - SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER , just now is the best timing for purchase the stock of Lightbridge Corp. I am around since their Thorium Power era....and now I am back in....the best way you make money is to follow the stocks, keep the notes...even for a decade... and either erase them from your watch list or keep waiting for your time...of course, on every successfull pick you have, you get at least the same amount of picks of not succes... I did that with MTG, BLDP, NOK, MDR...now I am doing it with GTXI, OTEL.....but while by not success I mean every stock where I stay equal or lose up to 20%, the success stories I calculate as those where the realized profit is over 100%...much over it...
And my addidtional pick is LTBR. Either quit in January with 10%-20% loss /if no application to DOE is sent)
Or enjoy up to 300% gain in 6 months...eventualy 3000% gain in 5 years...
You make your choice, I have done my first 2 initial buys...10,000 shares +12,000 shares..now I am in waiting mode. Usually, if my estimation is confirmed, I am used to add...only money make money. Good luck, mates...

from conference call Q2 2018
-Lightbridge is applying for DoE funding this year. If awarded to us, we expect the grants could be quite significant
- spent fuel from our fuel designs cannot be used for the production of nuclear weapons
-in June, we were awarded a key patent filing to our metallic nuclear fuel assembly design.
-patent portfolio to cover an entire metallic fuel assembly of two-thirds water reactors worldwide.
-balance sheet remains strong, and we ended the quarter with approximately $25.7 million of cash,
- DoE tries to make announcements and decisions just over three months after applications are made. We will be applying this year.
- the lead test rod agreement that we intend to announce later this year or early next year, we’re pretty confident, not just which utility, but which specific reactors those would go into. And then the lead test assembly, which is really the final commercial product that bundle a few rods for the agreement in 2019 could be with the same utility and or with others.
-We expect the nuclear utility customers to provide cash and/or in-kind contributions for our project as it moves forward. That first contract could be this year.
-We expect to begin testing thermal conductivity fuel samples in a research reactor in 2020. In 2021, we anticipate the start of initial commercial demonstration by introducing a lead test rod assembly into a U.S. nuclear power plant.
-Final commercial demonstration comprising operation of multiple lead test assemblies in the U.S. nuclear power plant is expected to begin in 2023, 2024.
-does the company anticipate a reverse split in order to maintain the NASDAQ listing?
Seth Grae:
No, we do not expect that. We expect the milestones, which we announced, will be reflected in an increasing stock price.
Market Cap $29.771M PPS $1.01
if they get DOE funding, LTBR will be immediately $3-5 (end 2018/beginning 2019)
if they start commercial demonstration, they will be $500M to $1B company ...that equalts to pps of $15 to $30 (2023/2024)
FNMA
Congress Has now only 2 possibilities:
1) Declare communist like Nationalization of Fannie Mae
2) Declare it is still only Conservatorship and in such case it must decalre under which conditions Conservatorship ends. Otherwise go back to point 1
Temptation is simply too high if you compare the odds what you can lose/get :
1)Bill Ackman, who owns more of Fannie Mae's common stock than any other investor, made the case that even including the nearly 80% of the stock that the government would be entitled to, shares could be worth between $23 and $47 -- and the government could end up making more than $600 billion.
2)treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin in a TV interview in April said he would focus on the issue after the November elections..
Turning to investments we know more about, Ackman talked Fannie Mae (OTCQB:FNMA) and Freddie Mac (OTCQB:FMCC). He says housing finance reform progress should pick up after the midterm elections. "At the end of the day, you have two of the greatest businesses ever created, in very strong, dominate positions, performing really well ... They’re in suspended animation until such time is there is a resolution here.” https://seekingalpha.com/news/3383237-bill-ackman-new-undisclosed-large-position?dr=1#email_link
FNMA - just considering. Made one small trade with gain $1,700
Bill Ackman's Pershing Square Portfolio - Q2 2018 Update
115.57M shares of FNMA at a cost-basis of $2.29 and 63.5M shares of FMCC at a cost-basis of $2.14. The combined investment outlay was ~$400M. FNMA & FMCC currently trade at $1.55 and $1.56 per share respectively. In March, Pershing Square said their Fannie/Freddie pfds now amounts to 21% of its total investment in the two GSEs. They said it is a hedge in case the resolution favors pfds more than the common.
So it seems commons still are considered as the shares with value also by Ackman.
And I agree with that. What is then the difference between conservatorship and receivership?
Why the stock is still possible to trade?
Conservatorship is by law not permanent but preliminary.
It will be 10 years ..There is definitely something boiling now.

Hey guys, what do I miss here? You can buy here 2 dollars (Cash minus total debt) just for one dollar??? Are you kidding me??? :))
OTEL : Simple explanation why OTEL is a screaming buy...
within just three quarters of 2014 OTELCO has generated so much free cash, that they were able to reduce the debt by the same amount as is the value of their current Market Cap!!! In just 9 months!!!
Do you understand this? This is the undiscovered CASH COW...Dream of every investor...If you decide to buy 100% of the company now for current PPS, in one year the company generates from contracts more free cash, that you have paid for it :DDD. And they have subscribed 10% more clients between Q2-Q3 earnings period...
Only problem here is that the debt is so high, that the book value is negative -8.50 usd/share.
This is probably why we are that lucky to buy it now that cheap. But they have reduced the debt by 15% only in three quarters...As walk57 has written elsewhere - the banks love such companies. They make the banks live, the banks do not call bancruptcy on CASH COWS :D
Based on latest 2014 Q3 numbers released yesterday, their operations generates cash to get annual diluted net INCOME per share in level exceeding 1.60 USD!!! that makes OTELCO undiscovered undervalued baby with fair value 300-400% higher...(if there is no debt, it would be even higher, they are reducing now the debt in pace over 15% per anum)
MDR the position initialized at 3.80...we should see it over 6.00
if they start to make profit...then definitely over 10.00, Einhorn has bought a stake over 5% in MDR recently...but he paid over 6.00...He must trust new management..I bet he wants to make 20-30% annualy at least in next three years... well let us see...12.00 in three-four years ?

Outlook
In 2013, BioLife management expects revenue to be in the range of $6.5 million to $7.0 million. This increase will be driven by continued increases in sales to existing customers, the addition of new customers in the regenerative medicine market as our customers continue to move their cell and tissue based therapies and products through the clinical trial and regulatory approval processes, and continued focus on sales through our existing distribution network.
We expect gross margin as a percentage of revenue of approximately 38% - $41% in 2013 with fluctuation occurring as a result of changes in the mix of core product sales and contract manufacturing services revenue.
We expect operating expenses in 2013 to increase 10% - 20% over 2012, with increases expected in all areas primarily in personnel related costs.
We will continue to focus on generating positive operating income in 2013, and expect the results for the full year to increase over 2012. We believe cash generated from customer collections will provide sufficient funds to operate our business

"is a leader in mobile, fixed, IP and Optics technologies, and a pioneer in applications and services. Alcatel-Lucent includes Bell Labs, one of the world’s foremost centers of research in communications technology. The company is currently trading at 59% of its trade value. Earlier, I had argued it was time to drop Alcatel-Lucent, now I believe that the company is making great strides forward, and it should be picked up at such a good price.
Recently, an internal European Union analysis has determined that two Chinese makers of wireless network equipment, Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp., are "inflicting damage on European producers by dumping products onto the European market at rock-bottom prices. This is surely going to improve the market position for Alcatel-Lucent in Europe. In addition, the company recently signed a deal with Telefonica which could see significant gains. Telefonica operates in 22 different markets: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Czech Republic, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala, El Salvador, Ireland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Slovakia, Spain, United Kingdom, USA, Uruguay and Venezuela. Alcatel-Lucent has an excellent probability to make a good name in the core router space and command a sizable share of the market."

Mirant, RRI Energy Shares Climb On Higher Capacity Prices
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Shares of RRI Energy Inc. (RRI) and Mirant Corp. (MIR) climbed Monday as prices paid to keep power plants available rebounded in parts of the eastern U.S.
Capacity prices rose throughout the PJM Interconnection, a 13-state power market in the Mid-Atlantic region and parts of the Southeast and Midwest, for a period three years from now. The increases were made public Friday evening when PJM released results of its annual capacity auction.
Analysts said Mirant and RRI Energy--which last month announced plans to merge--appear to be the biggest beneficiaries of the higher capacity prices. Shares of Mirant climbed to their highest intraday level since mid-February, recently trading 4.6% higher at $13.09, while RRI Energy traded up 4.1% to $4.55. The two companies are independent power producers selling their energy and capacity at market prices rather than at regulated rates.
Utilities and retail suppliers are required to buy capacity, which provides an incentive to help ensure sufficient operational generation to meet demand in coming years. The money compensates power plants for being operational, not for the electricity they produce.
After the market closed Friday, PJM said capacity prices across the western half of the market for June 1, 2013 to May 31, 2014 rose 68% to $27.73 a megawatt day from the auction a year ago. A plant is compensated for each megawatt of generating capacity available on a daily basis.
Yet eastern sections of PJM saw larger increases and far stronger pricing of more than $240 a megawatt day, as limited high-voltage transmission lines prevent power from flowing from western areas.
For a combined Mirant and RRI, the higher prices should increase capacity revenue by more than 70%, adding $300 million in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization three years from now, said Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. in a note to clients.
Mirant and RRI Energy agreed to merge in a deal that would create one of the biggest independent power companies in the U.S. The deal is expected to close before the end of the year.
The higher capacity prices in PJM come as the power industry struggles with back-to-back years of declining demand and weak energy prices. While the results were positive for eastern generators, analysts at Barclays Capital warned against putting too much emphasis on the results, particularly since they're for three years from now.
"We don't believe it is time to get overly enthusiastic and broadly buy power companies," they wrote in a note to clients Monday.

PVHO is interesting and cheap, but not in TV 3d--is creating holograms in mid-air to use for advertising. TDEY is very interesting but I never got a clear answer on their pref B shares which look potentially incredibly dilutional.
I am not 100% sure. Remember plasma or LCD TVs...They were also very expensive...now everybody have them and only with High Definition - even if there are just a few programs in HD.
If it will not hurt eyes to watch it all day, then I believe it might be faster than application of Thorium.
And about expensiveness....at the end I believe in some algorithm which will disassemble and then reassemble recorded picture. Simple and cheap shooting...
But we will see. For sure I believe in holograms in the future. 3D should be the step that way...
nah, i'm not interested in 3d - i think it's a big waste of money and i still haven't seen a movie in 3d because it costs twice as much -
that said, TXN makes the chips that go into projectors and TVs - if there is a big wave of 3d tvs it will be a good investment -

the euro would be stronger without greece -
There will be raised question of EURO.
Because normaly, Greece would be forced to do devalvation of the currency and the problem would be partialy solved. Only within Greek borders. But having EURO, this is now IMPOSSIBLE.
So the stupid GREEK policy (or was it really stupid?) of well treated government employees, 15 monthly payments of pensions and wages per year, 8 weeks of holidays, 60 years limit for retirement will be now paid by German taxpayers, who must work till 70, have 4-5 weeks of holidays and regular 12 month in years salaries?
All around Europe are elections now in May.....WHO WILL SUPPORT THEM? I MEAN WHO WILL SUPPORT THE HIGH LIFE of greek racketeers? :)
Tough decisions ahead for Europe... I am honestly glad we have still no EURO... :)
hmmmm - are you talking about the troubles in europe or the market performance here in the states?
i really think Greece will get kicked out of the EU because germany doesn't have the political will to deal with those union idiots in greece -
greece is going to screw themselves -
no reason for panic to me, soy. Two days maximum.... Greece, Portugal and others are shitty but the difference to two years ago is significant. That time it was problem of banks and debt driven economy of US started the collapse of world markets as the market with most hungry consumers was paralyzed....
Now it is all about bonds which at the end should mean more money would flow into stocks. As I say, two days maximum.... :)
