hi all,

Hoping you could shed some light, never really come across something like this. The stock "MKD" on Nasdaq, the volume for these few days have been out of the chart:

Jan 12 volume - 18 million
Jan 13 volume - 11 million

(average daily avg have been less than a million)

Yet, the price moved by pennies, SP currently sitting at ~ $0.82, so no, it is not a penny stock. Is this manipulation at the max!? I know this is most likely a China shady stock, but just do not understand the volume movement (usually there is a price movement to one way or another with these kind of moves?)

The past week, it has seen some volume (10 or 15 million a day), but today it's been hit for over 1 billion shares at .0001 and has a bid for the first time in a decade.

Any thoughts or guesses about what might be happening?

Have sold all trading stocks and placed cash in a long term dividend stock for income. Not trading at all for a while.

Just can't justify the market (including the $SPX) continuation. Also to many 15% daily individual stock pops and drops lately. IMO just not a trading atmosphere.

Let me ask you this question in regards to MMs naked shorting. It would seem to me that in the example below/Link that daily failures to deliver exceeding 50%+ on a daily basis for now going on 14 days doesn't work out mathematically that they are covering those shares??? I'm no math wiz but how do those shares get covered? It would seem problematic to me to be 50%+ short on an ongoing daily basis?? No? And yesterday 70% naked short volume. did you catch the handful of gray sheet stocks the otc MM's magically turned pink about 8 months ago? looking at trade data they loaded them all up at trip 1, turned them pink, ran them to 0005/0009 and then dumped onto retail. I mean that is some straight up illegal chit swept under the rug- lol. how I know about it is, one of those companies, the CEO is a business friend of mine- Called him and asked him how he got his stock pink again and he was like "what?" - he had no idea it happened.

M&Ms & broker dealers have REG SHO defining the time frames which they can not deliver shares traded. As I recall (should re-read) some of my old posts to refresh my senior brain now days. 3 days to show up on failure to deliver short list and 13 days till penalties.

So answering your question is they can naked short, but not for ever, like they use to, 70's 80's 90's, in days of old.

what's your view on MM's or broker/dealers selling short on an otc equity? - air shares etc? it would seem they could do this without needing to maintain a margin account or pony up the $2.50/ share fee.

Shorting penny stocks.

Thought I should let you know there isn't any shorting of OTC stocks, that all the message board posters post about!

1st you can only short stocks (big board or OTC) from a margin account. Few penny players event have margin accounts.
2nd if they do it requires $2.50 for each share shorted, on stocks priced under $2.50.

If one did short say a .01 cent stock for 10000 shares or a $100 short investment, they would need $25,000 in their margin account.

Now try a double or triple zero stock. It just doesn't happen! People don't short OTC stocks !!!

Now I know someone is going to say what about the websites which report short sales volume. Short sales volume is NOT short volume. It's volume which was not cleared for the day. As I recall M&Ms have 3 days to clear their daily traded volume. And I think 11 or 13 days before it's reported as actual naked short on REG SHO. So basically short sales volume is temporary naked short volume until cleared. It never has anything to do with actual shares held short, betting the stock price will fall.

I will add, if you see anyone talking about a short attack on a message board, disregard their opinion about anything. Because they have little knowledge about the market they trade! IMO

After watching, opinion is, he's a talking head which doesn't help one learn to trade or invest. Could just watch MSNBC.

Although he's the first one I've seen discuss (Cycles) during chart evaluations. I do feel using those half circles, defining pattern lows, can be helpful in reading future chart pattern projections. Either success or failure expectations.

hey Lowtrade, whats it mean when a buy order is held up for 1 to 2 hours

example, last trade of a stock hits .00001 (market sell all lot order)

then order to buy at .0001 is placed, and there are plenty of shares on the ask for sale, yet the order takes over 2 hours to execute?

i am also surprised that finra approved this RS. or should I not be surprised? how obvious is it that all rnva has been doing is using dilution and RS of commons as a cash register. granted we know some if this always happens as a product of otc in general, but its been so ongoing blatantly obvious over the top, you'd think a red flag or two would have been raised.
