I think there are like 80000 people in the whole Bluefields area, which is a vast area not just the little town you see on the maps. I think the town area where most of the city people live are about 40-50,000. Those people's little businesses would make a ton of money if the canal moved in. The little hotels there go for $30 a night, I bet they'll be fully occupied at $80-90 if other hotels don't move in as soon as construction begins.

Also did anyone notice in the last PR the discussion about the fiber optic network, I haven't seen anyone notice that.


Bluefields also serves as a landing point for the Americas Region Caribbean Optical-ring System (ARCOS) that provides fiber optic data to Central America.
