#170810 RE: barge #170807

Maybe this was already discussed but is it just a coincidence the job was posted the same day Wave was demonstrating at the Intel forum (vPro Tech)? Perhaps a deal was finalized with HP that day, and they figured they could afford the $150K salary?

I'm looking to snort any koolaid these days so forgive me.

barge: But of course the two job descriptions are for the same position!

It was about time that we see HP partner with Wave... but that had to come at one time!

"Just partnered with HP"

There could be various levels of "partnering," but one that was "material" to Wave would have to be publicly disclosed. Over the years Wave has been engaged to do engineering work for various OEMs such as Toshiba and has usually been paid fees in the low 100ks, never warranting an 8k as was done for the $300k consulting contract with DoD several years ago.

It's conceivable that "partnering with HP" currently amounts to some basic engineering work not sufficiently material to disclose; nevertheless this would be a good sign for an evolving relationship with HP, one that could potentially grow to the level of Wave's Dell relationship.

Incidentally, the anonymous placement of the ad touting the "partnering" with HP suggests to me that Wave may not want another vitally important OEM to be rubbed the wrong way.

Barge, if it was Wave, why wouldn't they just list the companies that they have already partnered with and are public, ie. Dell, Seagate, Intel etc...???

It would seem very careless to list "just partnered with HP" on a job site when no public disclosure of such has been made.

I tried to open the site, and it does not work for me.
