Yes, a product theater is expensive. A TV Commercial is ridiculously expensive, like $30M line item expensive, but in order to increase awareness and rapidly gain market share, you spend what you need to spend.



A "commercial" in the form of a MSM interview following the presentation is cheaper and potentially wider reaching.


ASCO Product theaters aren’t really for physicians, few go. The scientific session is for data release, the theater is for hype.



One reason I think there will be an LL abstract presentation preceding the MB et al. theater presentation. The academics/clinicians who worked the trial will want to be on the stage in front of their academic/clinician peers.

I was not putting down the cost of the theater. I was explaining it is a commercial venue. It is not subject to any requirement of an abstract submittal and if they were going to do that, it would not be the appropriate place for it, plus you’d not duplicate the vetting and subject matter in first a journal, that wants to be first and novel, and then a conference that wants also to be first and novel. That’s burning your bridges on both ends.
