falconer, if I may offer a different view. Before the various stock splits, MSFT closed @ $54 on that date, not $1.69, which is the post-split equivalent back in January 1994 (32:1 split impact).

At $54, MSFT seemed riskier than if it were at $1.69. For those who sold when MSFT was in the $40's back then, many backsides are still bruised.

ONE DIFFERENCE: And I remember Microsoft, Apple, etc.

The thing that kept many from Microsoft back then was that software companies were dying left and right, remember Word Perfect and Lotus 1-2-3?
They looked like the leaders, not MSFT. So don't be too hard on yourself missing out.

With AVXL, as things now stand, we are the Leader!

So a bet on AVXL is more like a bet on AMZN in the year after the dot.com crash when it was trading for peanuts.

Still kicking myself for not buying 10,000 AMZN in 2001.
