And I remember Microsoft, Apple, etc.

We will be more well known than J&J. In every household.

Back in the last century (1980s, 90s), when I taught advanced placement biology, a number of my gifted students told me about the future of computing, and computers. I was advised to buy into Microsoft, “It’ll be worth millions.” Of course, I knew better. “Microsoft” was some tiny start-up out West, that thought it could buy up a bunch of other computer programing start-ups and be big. Sure.

I lived on a moderate school teacher’s salary; didn’t (at the time) have discretionary funds to speculate on any new computer technology company. Had to put two of my kids through college.

On 13 January 1994, Microsoft closed at $1.69 a share. Yesterday, a share of MSFT was worth $337.91, a value increase of 199.94x. Had I a spare $1000 in January, 1994, and had purchased MSFT shares (591), today, not including accrued dividends, they’d be worth $199,704.

In two or three years, will some retail equity investors query themselves, “Sure wish I’da bought some of those Anavex shares back in 2021, when they were still cheap?”

Retrospective, “look-back” stock investing works only on spreadsheets, yielding nothing but “could have been” numbers. Most retail stock investors are careful and diligent; not jeopardizing their moderate investment funds on “way out” or highly speculative issues, especially on companies lacking any products to sell, or continuing revenue streams. This “Anavex” company surely is one of those; not a place for any investment dollars that can’t be lost. Right now, for most retail stock investors, only discretionary, can-be-lost dollars are appropriate to buy AVXLs.

But for those who have carefully taken an AVXL position, in a few years, they will look like stock investment geniuses. Today, a share of AVXL is worth about $18.99. A hundred can be purchased for $1899. In 2023, when the share price will be in the range of $100, a holding of a hundred shares will be worth $10,000. In five years, when the share price approaches $1000, $100,000.

Some, based upon their understandings of Anavex’s unique, proprietary medical science, have taken Anavex positions. We now patiently await the company’s pending ability to sell blarcamesine for one or more central nervous system diseases. For a long time, I’ve seen 2023 as Anavex’s break away year, when final recognition by the medical community of blarcamesine’s safety and efficacy will occur, with widespread therapeutic uses for several CNS diseases; with others to come.

Using only discretionary family budget funds, over many years, I now have several thousand Anavex shares, at an average cost of $2.67. When new discretionary funds become available, I’ll be buying more AVXLs. In a few years, I’ll be quiet about my Anavex holdings; will be satisfied with my early share purchases in the company’s infancy.

Or, the company will fail to gain regulatory authority to sell any of its drugs for any disease, and my Anavex shares will be worthless. Life will continue, nonetheless.
