Not exactly an apples to apples comparison but also look at big trial wins or settlements within the field of patent infringement. VHC comes to mind with 2 trial wins against AAPL for $450 million and $500 million. Keep in mind a trial win is usually larger than a settlement. S&G also had a big settlement with MSFT about 20 years ago where they were seeking about $1.5 or $1.6 billion and settled for $275 million.

Companies always ask for too much knowing they won't get all of what they are seeking. This is why the settlements are significantly below the amounts seen in a trial win. The trial win is an all or nothing deal. So when folks here are predicting
billion dollar settlements it's a bit of a stretch. There may be a billion + of infringement but that doesn't necessarily equate to a billion dollar settlement.

Now it is too broad to focus on industry wide for the sale figures.

At this stage we should be specific and only focus on Call of Duty because we know Call of Duty is on Worlds' target. We'll learn more about other products and other players (Microsoft, Bungie, Linden, etc.) as the trial goes on and will the adjust the numbers accordingly. Call of Duty is the MINIMUM number, and the number will get larger when more infringed products & players are known...

Keep in mind that Worlds' patents are at or near the term the patents' lives, so any number is practically a onetime revenue and should not be considered as recurring revenue stream to apply multiple for earning growth consideration.

Call of Duty $27 Billion Revenue Since 2003.

Call of Duty has generated $27 billion in revenue for Activision since it's inception in 2003. When did Call of Duty first infringe on Worlds' patents? Since 2003? How critical or how big of a role of Worlds' patents had on Call of Duty? If Worlds' patents have played very important role, then the Court can award a royalty rate bigger than the norm.

But let's put a fair royalty rate of 5%. You do the math. And if 3X punitive damage for willful infringement is applied, then what is $27,000,000,000 x 5% x 3? (don't forget to take out the lawyer fees)
