Great point ILT. The more I think about it, trials should be huge evidence against obviousness. If the patent was so obvious, then why would long, expensive trials be necessary, especially considering that innovative trials are often met with cynicism, and frequently fail. To this very day, despite Vascepa's triumphs, the fish oil/snake oil/mineral oil pack of vermin still exists, even among physicians who inexplicably should know better.
