Serial? They were going to use a NET? (True confession: I haven't watched the vid. I have no interest in watching the vid. I think I'd learn more facts from watching that latest Sharknado movie than I would from watching anything that SHMP produced).
Maybe...instead of SHMP mgmt being "Tiger King" fans and would-be Joe Exotics, they were more enamored with "Deadliest Catch" and dreamed of being crabmen sailing out of Dutch Harbor. Might as well use "shrimp pots" to make it that much more real.
