Janice, The patent assignment was executed on Jan 1, 2016(prior to the 10-k). That is the focal point. My assumption is that when they acquired the assets in 2013(refer to other assignments here(2013).... https://assignment.uspto.gov/patent/index.html#/patent/search/resultAssignor?assignorName=LAWFUL%20INTERCEPT,%20LLC

...they assumed that they could sell/license the acquired patents.

ooopps...after further study and attempts...they realized that they may have made a poor decision. Now they burn cash in an attempt to secure such..form thereof.

again...ooops :)

From the looks of that filing, it seems this company could be hijacking other patents and IP and then trying to sue.
None of this seems proper as to how vplm gained control of patents, which I don't think they truly own.
And the 2013 were existing patents with plenty of layered amendments to them. Meaning other patents existed below them. I don't think the patents were issued TO vplm, but they somehow took them over.

And they're asking for 10's of billions. I wouldn't mind 3% of that to go away, or sell whatever my shaky ownership to big corps. My modem of operand theory is sounding more possible as time goes on.
