It may sound like a lot, but if you really do factor in ALL the costs, as any cpa with his weight would you only have to add all the costs to arrive at something close to that round number, figures don't lie. And any cpa would know all the costs so not to fool oneself. Doctors are great at what they do but are lousy businessmen and are terrible with numbers when related to business.

I’m going to church tomorrow morning to pray that Amarin doesn’t hire reps with a $55k base, if they exist. I don’t not have experience in this space. Base + bonus + benefits + taxes + supporting infrastructure is closer to $250k, all in. This is also the hottest labor market, basically ever. Remember that we have 400 spots with tens of thousands of apps. We shouldn’t be looking at newbies.

Anyways, not really the point of my post to nitpick sales rep cost. It’s not materially off. My point was that management is 100% justified in raising cash right now. They’d be complacent to not do so.

Card - anything new you’ve noticed in prescribing habits or attitudes of your colleagues?

PS - don't ever underestimate CPAs......

Drug reps make various levels depending on experience. You have to include the sales managers in this which are paid a higher base and get a percentage of sales. The number is probably high ($250k) but when you take the average and add their expenses, FICA paid by employer, health insurance and car allowances, $250k is probably not far off. I am sure they are using the $250k as a conservatively high number as a cushion.
