Got ya, although 1700 sq feet is not exactly a small house. There is one 4 doors from me, 1300 sq ft of really bad remodel, with no basement...asking $745,000. Of course it has NOT sold.......
There is no way I could buy my house now. One neighbor is building a second addition, because it is SO much less expensive that buying another house with the space they feel they need, now that they have a second child.
I don't see prices dropping around me, just going up more slowly. Its just nuts.

Same here Pal, I have a small house in an average middle class neighborhood and the prices are absurd.
