Recharacterization would be for the point of showing maximum response in the optimal population. I don't think anyone would be discontinued from the drug during P3 though.
I think the whole enchilada will probably get approved early, then it all becomes a P4 learning exercise. IMO that could happen before a P3 even begins, depending on strength of reaction.
