You are 100% correct – the profit motive in the real world creates a competitive environment in which efficiencies are created and costs are lowered -- competition = less cost.
A socialized/government system creates inefficiencies and shortages that only serve to drive up the costs to deliver health care – government activity is, by far, the biggest driver of health-care costs, period.
