All FDA approved drugs will be synthetic and there are similar side effects from the plant. When taken orally, it's metabolized by the liver and that's where the problems occur with efficacy and side effects. Everyone reacts differently so there's a high likelihood of failure in clinical trials.

A suppository is a last resort but there is enough of a market for it and it bypasses the liver. It's the least expensive and most reliable method to get approval.

Nemus plans to examine developmental partnering opportunities with companies who may already have a presence in this therapeutic area but are looking to expand their portfolio into cannabinoids and/or companies developing novel delivery systems, especially those that permit bypassing first-pass metabolism in the liver.
